Made in China
Posted:
9/16/2009 1:48:18 PM
I have to agree with what the topic poster mentioned. Not everything is made in China but many of the things are. Also, things are also made in Taiwan, Vietnam, Mexico, Korea, etc. Very few items are made in America.
It has to do with the fact that companies outsource their work to foreign countries because they get cheaper labor. For example, a person might work at a warehouse here in the USA and made about $8 per hour, over in China, people will work for $.25 an hour.
It also has to do with the free trade agreements such as Nafta, etc. These free trade agreements make it easier for companies to send production overseas. In fact, the government even gave tax breaks to companies who took their business overseas.

Thanks for mentioning this,
I didn't know that Patrick Swayze died. He is a good actor and will be missed by people close to him and his fans. My favorite movie of his was Red Dawn.

Dating while unemployed
Posted:
8/9/2009 9:59:45 PM
no job , no date
that is my opinion
Ouch, that's very harsh. And your comment definitely makes you sound like a gold digger. I'm unemployed, been unemployed since January. I worked for DHL and they closed all sort hubs in the USA. My father has been unemployed since December.
We are both looking for jobs but in my area, jobs are very hard to come by. I look online almost every day and very few jobs are opening up. The economy is very bad. Both I and my father have put a good amount of applications in but most don't call back for an interview espically because you have lots of people trying to get a job.
What makes me sick are people who think that everyone who doesn't have a job is a lazy person. My area has one of the highest unemployment rates in Pennsylvania. Also, I worked for DHL for 8 years and I was considered to be a very hard worker, well respoected by my co-workers.
It's kind of hard to date in this bad economy because you have people who judge people who are unemployed thinking of them as lazy people. Yes, there are lazy people who want other people to pay for them. I was at my grandfathers house a few weeks ago and it said that the national unemployment rate was almost 10% and I heard on the radio about a week ago that there are over 700,000 people out of work. It's not that people are lazy, the job market is very bad and getting worse espically with gas prices going up and down, almost like a roller coaster.

80's music is the bestest evah!

I kind of agree, 80's music has produced a lot of great music and bands.
But I think that the 60's, 70's and 80's produced the best music ever made.

Playstation 3 vs XBox360
Posted:
5/18/2009 10:03:55 PM
Unfortunately,
The backwards compatibility on the XBOX 360 isn't too good, there are about 300 XBOX games that can run on the 360 but there are still many games that can't run and, IIRC, Microsoft stopped working on backwards compatibility in November 2007.
So, if you want to play XBOX games, buying a used XBOX would probably be the best way.

Playstation 3 vs XBox360
Posted:
5/17/2009 10:35:34 PM
I own both an XBOX 360 and a Playstation 3 (60 GB model, upgraded the hard drive to 250 GB) and I love them both.
But I prefer the XBOX 360, in fact, if a game is on the PS3 and 360, I go for the 360 version but I do enjoy playing PS1/PS2 games on my PS3 and I do buy games for the PS3, bought Untold Legends for the PS3 recently.
Actually the 20 GB and 60 GB PS3's are compatible with PS1/PS2 games but these models are discontinued and go for almost $400+, I got my 60 GB PS3 in Feburary for $264 because it had some problems.

I use Firefox, in fact, it's my main web browser.
I don't know why you are having problems with Firefox. Firefox sometimes locks up on my but I'm able to stop it using Task Manager so I don't know why you can't.
I'm actually writing this message thru Firefox.

Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:41:45 PM
Cool,
But they also need to go after True.com also. True is supposedly the #1 paid dating site online and they also send out fake winks also, so True should be sued also.
I despise True.com with a vengeance. I haven't been a member of their site in years but they make me sick espically Herb Vest (owner of True.com).
His site only became #1 because he uses ads that have women in very little clothing.

Winks on Match and Yahoo
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:39:43 PM
Hi,
Be very careful with paid sites such as match.com, Yahoo Personals, true.com, etc.
These paid sites, supposedly sends fake winks to members to make them believe that a member has written to you in hopes that you will pay for a subscription. True.com is notorious for doing this.
Also, these paid sites have it set up that a member can't put their email address in a message to a free user (this sites replace the mail address with the users dating email address). I'll explain much easier, let's say that a user sends an email thru match.com and they list their email address in the letter, match.com will replace the email address in the letter with the users match.com email address which means that the person receiving the message will have to pay for a subscription to read the email address in your letter.

How does living in a big city compare to a smaller town?
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:27:37 PM
Well,
I lived in a bid city (Allentown, PA. 3rd largest city in PA by population) for over 20 years.
Moved out to the country 7 and a half-years ago and I love it. Live in a village of about 4,000 people and I wouldn't give it up for the world.
I'd rather live in villages and farming towns instead of cities because they are nice and quiet.

Is it wrong to report / turn in illegal Aliens
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:12:04 PM
No,
It's not wrong to turn in illegal aliens.
People who come in the country illegally have no right to be here. I'm an American citizen, born and raised in the USA and I believe that you come into the country illegally, that you should be deported. If you want to come to the USA, do it the legal way.

Is any guy NOT into casual sex?
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:08:19 PM
Hi,
Not all men are into casual sex.
There are some men who are players, like to get a woman into bed then move onto the next woman.
And, then there are men who aren't into casual sex, the ones who want a relationship and not just sex.

Should depressed People date?
Posted:

Hey,
Being bipolar doesn't make anyone less than anyone else.
I'm bipolar but I don't get depressed much since I take meds. Just because someone is biploar doesn't mean that they can't date.

How did you come up with your screen name?
Posted:
5/3/2009 5:00:56 PM
Well,
My screen name comes from the fact that I love music, listen to it all the time. Listen to music on my computer (via Imeem, internet radio stations, etc), on CD's (have over 160+ CD's).
Went to yard sales in my local area over the weekend found 3 music CD'S that I liked (both 2 for $3 at my yard sale and another for $1 at another one). Have 2 used CD's coming thru the mail from Amazon.com.

Bi-Sexuals
Posted:
4/27/2009 1:44:21 AM
I once dated a bi-sexual girl so I have some experience with bi-sexuals.
Just because a person is bi-sexual doesn't mean that they can't be in a monogamous relationship. It's just that some of them believe that they can date a guy and a girl at the same time, my ex-girlfriend believed this. She also believed that it was ok to have sex with a girl while she was dating me.
And, no, it's not ok for a bi-sexual to be in a relationship with both a guy and a girl.
Your girl thinks that she has the right to be in 2 relationships at the same time which is wrong.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO COMMON SENSE?
Posted:
4/27/2009 1:37:38 AM
I agree with you. Common sense is gone because, as you mentioned, juries will reward stupidity.
Like you said, if someone put a metal item, such as a fork, into a toaster and got shocked because the toaster was pulled in, they will usually sue the manufacturer.
So, a dr won a case because they put a string trimmer up to their face. That person has got to be an idiot but this country rewards people for being idiots. Just look at companies getting money from the government because they ruined their company.

Posted:

I'm a big CD buyer, I still buy CD's. Have a music collection with almost 200+ CD's.
Most of my CD's are bought used from a store called Young Ones in Kutztown, PA and I also buy used online from Amazon.com.
I was in New Jersey with family on Saturday and we went to some yard sales, I got an alannah miles CD for about $2 and a Paula Abdul CD for $1.

I seem to almost always get read deleted and I see that the people viewed my profile. Kind of sucks because most of them share the same interests with me. Sometimes, I just want to up and quit.
So, I'm looking for a profile review to see what might be wrong.

Would you marry a bisexual woman/man?
Posted:
9/14/2008 9:00:13 PM
Tough question to answer but I'll try my best.
I would marry a bi girl if we both love each other and if she can be monogamous, I don't like sharing my girl, when I'm married, she should be with me only, no girls (other than friends).

HETEROSEXUAL / BISEXUAL / You should let the other person know :(
Posted:
9/14/2008 8:39:52 PM
Yes, if you are bi-sexual, you should tell your partner, they have a right to know. You're not being honest to your partner if you don't tell them that you're bisexual.
I was once in a long term relationship with a girl who was bi. She tried to tell me that she was bi but she said it in a joking manner so I didn't think that she meant it. Found out not long later from a girl who turned out to be the girlfriend of my girlfriend (in the beginning, my girlfriend had me believing the she was her best friend).
