It is better to be humble and finish last with dignity and humility. No matter how hard or easy the life is, it is a short journey of life's experiences that inspires us to feel human emotions and increase our wisdom. Strive to love and move on. At least he had realized and understood what he had done and wanted to make amends to better himself. in my opinion. I would make accept his apology.
