I would say victim is exactly what a broken hearted person is. The word has kind of a negative meaning when it comes to being hurt. Just has a murder victim or rape victim deseves compassion so does a victim of mental, physical and emotional mistreatment. People don't ask to raped and people do not ask to have their heart trampled on. People who sit and judge and call names because someone opened up their heart and loved and put trust and time into making something work must be made of stone. How lucky for them. I find that the people devoid of human compassion are usually the cheaters and man/woman borrowers of the world. That is a whole other self esteem issue..

Get a lawyer and write EVERYTHING down. Every time she doesn't pick them up. Every missed birthday, Dr. appointment. Dates, times..all of it..it sounds petty, but it is necessary. Good luck to you.

Interesting. I have a friend who dates women in their early 20's. He is 38. The relationships ultimately fail because they have nothing in common. I personally find that I improve with age. I look and feel better now than I did when I was ten years younger. and way better than h.s. lol. People actually think I am ten years younger then I am.

Verbal abuse is usually just a prelude to physical abuse. That is why it gets to that point. All it takes is for someone to tear down your self-esteem. I was in an abusive relationship for years. I just recently left for good. I would not describe myself as needy, dependent or uneducated, but when you are in that situation, you feel useless, helpless and unworthy of anything good.
