Well this explains why it was almost impossible for me to find a transmission for my truck. Sorry Washington if not all of us can just jump out and get rid of our older cars and buy a new one. Also..I had heard on the grapvine that you couldnt use the program if your car was over 20 years old...wouldnt those be the real junkers? lol

Im glad they didnt get it. They shouldnt be allowed to be V.firefighters or even be let back into society. Even under certain "circumstances" where it may not be your fault you should be smart enough to recognize a situation, leave a fail safe, back out of it, and regroup. If someone isn't smart enough to do that..I don't feel sorry for them. As far as "the girlfriends" part of it. Once again, thats why you always have a back up plan

guns at home
Posted:

I am a proud owner of handguns and rifles. I hunt, (only shoot what I eat), and would not hesitate in the least to take out someone threatening my family. I was able to get my concealed gun permit from when I was in the military. When I go to places such as Houston or Dallas, you bet your ass I have it strapped to me. That way I know if anything happened, then I would be able to at least do something to protect my family. The sad thing is not so much that we HAVE guns, but the fact that in some places you actually need them. If you ever have the chance to, pick up some literature on the Japanese in WW2. Afterwards the US goverment asked them why they never invaded after dismantling the Pacific Fleet. Their reason..to many citizens had firearms so that it wouldnt be only the military they had to worry about. On April 19, 1775 the British attempted to confiscate all guns from the colonist..which led to a successful revolution...congress should take the hint.

OU ill beat Tech and remind them they have no place in any Big 12 or national championship, its for the big boys, not the lucky little brother. They didnt even beat Texas convincingly, and Texas was having a bad game. and no Im not an OU fan

OU needs to beat Tech and remind them they have no place in Big 12 championships much less National. I hate OU and I hate Tech. So lets all smile when OU beats them, Tech falls below Texas, and OU doesnt jump Texas. Techs on a lucky streak and every team has a bad game, Tech didnt beat Texas convincingly, considering they had everything going wrong. So for the only time in my history, heres to the Sooners...beat the hell out of Tech

Global Warming Real?
Posted:
11/21/2008 12:21:40 PM
dang...explaining global warming is very easy. Its natural for the environment to warm up, and yes it is, the oceans will rise about 2 inches if all the icebergs melt..but in the big picture that is a lot...Things warm up, look through our geological hisotry, ice ages and warm periods come and go. The differance is the rate at which is happening, previous climate changes took place over thousands of years, and we have crammed that into the past 100 years. So nothing has time to adjust or evolve with the temperature change.
Every post on here that says its not true can be proven wrong very easily, its real, and it wont probably effect us in our lifetime, but it will eventually. So might as well start fixing the problem now before it gets any worse. One way to show it is I live in West Texas..usually we hit 100+ days from late April to mid September..the past few years has seen 90-100 degree weather all year round, I cooked out Christmas last year..so you cant say its not warming up. You also have to take in considerations with wind currents, the roation of the Earth, ocean tides, and ocean currents, not to meantion the more frequently natural disators. Pretty much all hurricanes from now on in the gulf are going to be major due to increased water temperture that the hurricanes thrive on..and you thought Katrina was bad?
To ignore or push off this problem is nothing short of nieve, the problem lies with finding the middle ground. Extremest want us to be off oil in 10 years, hell thats impossible even in 15, 20 maybe..even the plastics we use everyday are based in oil, not to meantion, cars, lawn mowers, weed eaters, treated wood, packaging, gloss, beauty products, and the list goes on and on...not every American can afford to buy a new car that runs on other types of fuel (which E80 Ethonal is the biggest scam known to man, it cost more to refine then oil, isnt in high demand, and raises food prices), Destorying the oil buisness in the US all at once would cripple the falling economy closing tons of jobs and revenue, but we have to slowly get away from it..deforestation or overfishing, bad things, but its also a basis of the economy. Windmills, big structures that are hard to repair (My best friend is a safety guy at a wind farm) and you can find pictures from Hawaii of windmills rotting, destroying land because of how exspensive they are to operate.
Personally Im going with solar power, looks promising but not a for sure thing. The problem is that us as humans look for a quick fix and dont think about the results down the line

These people should be held until they are put on trial, and slap all the charges you can on them. Most people do not seem to understand what its like when they are shooting at you yelling "alla acma". Or understand how it feels when those bullets dont miss, but then again, when people go by what they hear and not see, its understandable...so hold em until trial, where hopefully justice will be done and they will no longer be a drain on the American tax dollars, or anyone for that matter. They are not Americans, they have no rights in this country. As said before, you must fight fire with fire..if your always the good guy then you will always be walked over. For those that think they should be released, how about we throw yah in with a group of them in Iraq and then hear your opinion.

Do your homework man, they kill with a lot more than that, in Texas thats more than obvious. And no I dont hate them for their skin color..Im hispanic myself, born in Honduras, came to America LEGALLY, and have no sympathy for someone that doesnt. I agree that yes in its own way, Mexcio is waging an undeclared war, and the more people that come over here to drain the economy means less drain on them. Id be more than happy to pay a little more for food, if it forced illegals out and forced the companys to hire actual Americans..

So you think universal health care is good for America huh?
Posted:
6/15/2008 6:39:24 AM
Its hard to feel sorry for anybody without a job, maybe Texas is just that much better than everywhere else in the fact that almost every job offers insurance, there is never an excuse other than being physically injured to not have a job without insurance, and my hard earned money will not pay for someone elses bs to get theirselfs taken care of. Being in Texas I see illegal immigrants first hand better than most and see the drain they put on the economy and the law, most wanting nothing more than a handout, then **** when they get it. Out here the majority of major crimes are commited by illegals who are draining the system, and putting universal health care will make it worse. Its gotten bad enough that every once in awhile we take a group of people to walk the ranch with rifles and check for them or for traces of them. No universal healthcare is a way of putting a sign that says, to other countrys dump your shit here.

First off there is no such thing as a "GREAT" illegal immigrant, there are great immigrants, but any that are illegal are not great..much less serve a purpose. So, universal health care, worst idea since Hillary running for President...great way to sink the economy more, cost more in taxes, and give more jobless hobos and wellfare check grabbers more reason to stay the way they are, get a job..a REAL job, where they offer it, or get a working job, where you can afford to pay private health insurance...some people may not like doing the work part, but if they dont then they shouldnt have any healthcare at all.

yah know if you look threw the history of the Earth, the climate warms and cools...and currently we are coming out of an ice age, so its a natural process, its going faster than it should, but its nothing that can not be fixed, the only thing is it wont, cause not everyone would ever jump on the bandwagon. It isnt oilfield companys fault, not cars, not greenhouse, bs, its everything combined, I find it ironic when people gripe about this stuff and have trucks or even cars..Thats not al gore talking..or a statement..its an acutal college text, or maybe its my Environmental degree..who knows

In the coast of of Virgina and Florida where American companys can not drill, there are drilling rigs from China, Cuba, and France...so we are letting them steal our oil instead of taking advantage of it ourself. How do I know, I used to work on offshore rigs.

This kind of thinking is what makes people traitors..I hear Canada is opening its doors, have at it. As it goes, If you havent been there and seen it with your own eyes, you have NO right to say your right about something that you have just HEARD about..(and yes, I was in the military)

McCain's rejection of the GI education bill
Posted:

First off I have always been told Im just like my father, in the way we think act and everything (guess call it a family tradition), he is the reason I am the person I am, and Im damn proud of that fact. Some people look at us as the Good ol Boys from West Texas..but Im content with that, lol. Second, sorry, lol, my dad is married, they just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.
Also i do agree, there is not a need for everyone to go to college, I dont know about the rest of the nation, but out here a High school drop out can work making 1-2 grand a week. My father (more so) and I have done two things in our lifes...Serve in the Army, and work in the oilfield. 80 hours a week, rain, sleet, or snow..its good, honest, hard work. I personally think part of the reason for unemployment isnt the lack of jobs so much, but the fact that most people are for lack of a better word...LAZY. As Americans we are given a lot, and a lot of people take that for granted, so when hard times do come, they dont know what to do. Where as yes, we need CEO's, presidents, etc..we also need the grunt workers, the drillers, construction workers..blue collar. None of us would get anything done if it wasnt for them. It is a very honorable and noble job..and nothing to be ashamed of..you dont need college, just the want to to work hard. just as if not more important than the big guys upstairs.
So, I tip my hat to all blue collar workers everywhere, and since yall asked about my father..
got any daughters that think like yall do? LOL

ignorance, contrary to popular belief, college does not make a person smart. Its a little thing called common sence and street smarts. You dont need college to learn drills, tactics, and fire a gun. Dont get me wrong, in college myself, getting my education, but the way i understand this is, the fact I didnt have it before, made me, and the rest of my squad dumb soldiers..even after I stated that I know nothing about you, but I'll tell you what. Ill give you an M16, put you in the middle of the desert, and lets see how college helped you out.

McCain's rejection of the GI education bill
Posted:

Reducing officers..dont think so..I graduate in December (not using money from a GI Bill, paying myself, and it doesnt bother me) and have been pre accepted into OCS, and from there hopefully to Ranger qualify. Whatever association with the military you had, (granted I dont know what it is, so I cant say anything about that). The bottom line is you where no a soldier. Now I am not saying McCain was right or wrong, frankly I like the guy, he has a lot to offer and knows what can not be done. Bash me or whatever on that. Not being a soldier you have no idea how things like this effect them. I dont want any damn money..and where as yes every little bit helps, my pride will not allow me to accept it, those that do, power to them there is nothing wrong with that. No its not a bad thing this didnt pass..let it rumble around a bit more. I joined to serve, not to be payed. Also yes you can use the GI bill while enlisted, just depends on if you've been accepted to OCS, or a specialized MOS..also..thats why we have the reserves. Also by saying we shoudnt think you havent sacrificed, I take as you saying you have, where as everyone goes threw hard times, I highy highly doubt that your problems can measure up to that of somone in the sandbox or that has ever served. As a song says
"When you've seen what I've seen, things dont seem so bad, you quit worring about what you aint got and thank God for what you have, cause you could be raising your family in that place, but your an American, by Gods Amazing Grace. So if you wanna talk about it, you better keep it short, cause I've got a lot of lost times that I've gotta make up for, I really dont care why Bush went into Iraq, I know what my friends did and Im damn sure proud of that, so if you have ANYTHING bad to say about the USA, you better say it before differant ears"
At the sametime though, my friends and family havent died so your opinion can be taken away from you
So...pass the bill..not passing the bill..when it boils down to it..who gives a damn

As an awnser, yes I was in the military, did 2 tours in Iraq. My whole family is military, even ask the old vets, if they had their benifits taken away, they wouldnt ****, its not right but still...the point stands, its not the reason a soldier enlists. So do not come to me saying Im clueless about what a soldier would want
