Am I wrong? What is your favorite cheese?
Posted:

azblueskies57, I respect you bro, and I love your posts but smoked gouda is the ultimate cheese...and mozzeralla is a close second. :D
Powdered and plastic enshrouded cheese is pure garbage and I'd rather die than eat it...
...Yes, I know my pic is a beautiful woman...but she is Italian, and I'm sure you know how Italian women are. ;) It takes every minute of every day of my time to satisfy her... :D

Hi,
A really great woman found me. She is the woman of my dreams. Her name is Jessica and I never would have met her if it wasn't for POF.
She is the most beautiful person I have ever encountered, both physically and emotionally.
I think I've found the mother of my children.
Jessica, will you marry me?

Oh well, some people can't appreciate true greatness. That's what metal is, well good metal anyway...Real, raw. talent. Not this manufactured crap that is stuffed into the top 40 trash heap and is used to sell products.

I buy the cheapest stuff I can get, throw it in the coffee maker...done. Black.
I'm pickier about my tea these days as coffee really messes me up now for some reason.
I'd never waste good whiskey mixing it with coffee....Irish whiskey maybe...

what's the best way to forget someone?
Posted:

Just go on living your life, learn new things, enjoy your hobbies, your friends...do what you did before you met that person. Take it one day at a time. The hurt takes a while to subside but through time's attrition, it diminishes and one day you wake up ok.

No Car No Girl?
Posted:
10/17/2005 12:37:00 AM
Well from now on I'm definitely going to say I have no car. That way I can avoid some of the losers who replied here today.
You're looking for a human being not a god damned peice of machinery. You equate having a car to responsibility. How is having a car a sign of responsibility that is too big, uses too much precious resources, that can create a financial burden on your relationship, uses money that could go into a better house, better diet, vacations, a future and proper moral values for your children...whatever!? Where's the "adventure" in that.
Get your priorities straight. You make me ill.

Not you! The OT....I think people should stay out of others affairs when it comes to emotional issues. Like seriously, are peoples lives that perfect that they can pontificate on the behaviour of others?
If that person wanted advice they could come into this forum and ask for it directly or ask a friend. It's not my business or anyone else here otherwise.

Yeah...flirt with everyone. It will be so obvious that you'll only be selling yourself out and you'll give him and the new woman something to say behind your back.
Just show some class and plenty of indifference and you'll cruise right through it. Looking your finest will only boost your confidence and help you get through such an awkward situation...I say beautify yourself to the max!

egg fried rice

Like classic chassis said, use day old rice, it breaks up easier - I've always had good results this way. Fresh rice is just too mushy. Also use a very hot carbon steel wok. Mix the rice with the uncooked egg before frying. Soy sauce always helps too.

A planned menu, balanced nutrition, smart shopping, and creativity!
Just a few ideas, not even close to a real list:
Canned tuna
Eggs
Canned tomatoes (great for mixing with rice & beans to make a cheap & nutritious burrito)
Rice & beans (as previously mentioned) the two together provide a complete protein chain
Pasta (brown rice if possible)
Canned soup (can be mixed with many things for flavour)
Apples (cheap and stay fresh for a while so save and buy lots)
Chicken (bulk)
Stewing beef (bulk; properly marinated can easily replace any prime stir-fry cuts)
Beef/chicken/vegetable stock (excellent for adding flavour to anything)
Frozen OJ (cheap and nutritious)
Dried vegetables (bulk; great for soups or fried rice)
Powdered milk (great for baking but I'll drink it in place of normal milk..I really don't mind the stuff)
Nighted's El Cheapo Burrito
A cheap, vegetarian, high protein burrito that got my through college and gave me the energy and protein I needed to push weights at the gym...on a really tight budget...I should make these again someday, reinvented of course....
Rice
Beans
Tomatoes (canned)
Onions (I love onions so I'd normally put lots in)
Garlic
Crushed cheese nacho chips
Cheese (a luxury on a tight budget
Hot salsa
Tortilla shells
Cook up the rice, add beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices...heat it on the stove.
Remove and mix in crushed cheese nachos.
Spoon out and plop onto tortilla shell that has been smeared with hot salsa. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and roll them up.
Put onto a baking sheet and put a large steel bowl that will completely cover the tortillas and heat in the oven under the bowl until the cheese is melted. The bowl keeps them soft and the cheese sticks everything together so they don't fall apart in your hands. I'm sure you could wrap them up in tin foil to achieve the same effect...but tinfoil is an added expense.
This is how I made them then. I might fry the beans and rice now and add some chopped fried steak or chicken into the mix...

PORCH CLIMBER...a great drink for the patio and BBQ
Posted:

You two are getting picked on lately! lol
It's a good drink actually. It almost sounds like a Shandy...if you've ever heard of it....basically beer and lemonaid...maybe the vodka it a good idea.
Sounds like something so have when among non-beer drinkers (ie. most women I know)
But I still prefer a stiff glass of straight Canadian rye. :D

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
2 cups finely crushed gingersnaps
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup pumpkin
1 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
3 8-ounce packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1. Lightly grease a 13x9x2" baking pan: set aside. For crust, in a small bowl combine gingersnaps & melted butter. Press mixture evenly into bottom of the prepared pan. Bake in a 325 oven about 10 minutes or until crust is firm; cool.
2. Meanwhile, for pumpkin batter, in a medium bowl stir together pumpkin, flour, & pumpkin pie spice; set aside.
3. For cream cheese batter, in a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium to high speed until combined. Stir one-third of the cream cheese batter (about 1 1/2 cups) into the pumpkin batter until smooth. Pour remaining cream cheese batter over crust, spreading evenly. Place large spoonfuls of pumpkin batter randomly over cream cheese batter. Using the tip of a table knife or a thin metal spatula, gently swirl the two batters together.
4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes more or until center is just set. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cover & chill for 4 to 24 hours before cutting into squares or bars.

Cast IRon Skillets
Posted:

Most of them come with care instructions. Any good cookbook probably has tips for preserving and curing cast iron as well. Once cured you have to carefully clean them and heat them on a warm burner to dry them out. Then you want to rub a bit of vegetable oil on them before storing. Try Google for more info.
I don't use cast iron anymore as it's too much of a hassle to maintain. Stainless steel all the way these days.

O-T-B...if you're so tired of these posts than don't read them and don't waste your time pontificating upon them. Just mind your own business...there are enough groundlings like you in these forums who think that they know it all.
This is a "forum" after all...look it's meaning up in the dictionary because it's blatantly obvious you have no clue as to it's definition.
Here is a hurting soul that needs advice and consolation, not your bitter tripe. And that goes any other of the ill educated, apathetic, odious "human beings" that vomit forth your acrimonious, nebulous crap to satisfy your own self rightious sense of vindication.
People like you suck and are a disease that makes our society the decaying detritus that it has become...
You must hate yourself so much that it overflows and spills forth into the lives of others much like a sickly puss....

Hey Smith! Try this....the real deal, original and extra crispy! ;)
I have all of the KFC recipes, macaroni salad, gravy, everything! If you want 'em, pm me and I'll send them back to you in text.
KFC ORIGINAL RECIPE
2 fryer chickens cut up into 8 pieces and marinated
6 cups Crisco Shortening
1 eggs well beaten
2 cups Milk
2 cups Flour
2 teaspoons ground pepper
3 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon MSG
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 dash paprika
Place shortening into the pressure cooker and heat over medium heat to the shortening reaches 400°F. In a small bowl, combine the egg and milk. In a separate bowl, combine
the remaining six dry ingredients. Dip each piece of chicken into the milk until fully moistened. Roll the moistened chicken in the flour mixture until well coated. In groups of four or five, drop the covered chicken pieces into the shortening and lock the lid. When pressure builds up cook for 10 minutes. RELEASE TO MANUFACTURER'S
INSTRUCTIONS
After the colonel perfected his original he made a crispy recipe that was marinated first then fried the conventional way. This one is double dunked into the coating to give it its great taste.
KFC EXTRA CRISPY
1 whole frying chicken, cut up and marinated
6-8 cups shortening for cooking
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon MSG
1/8 teaspoon Paprika
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon Baking Powder
Trim any excess skin and fat from the chicken pieces. Preheat the shortening in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees. Combine the beaten egg and milk in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, combine the remaining coating ingredients (flour, salt, pepper and MSG). When the chicken has marinated, transfer each piece to paper towels so that excess liquid can drain off. Working with one piece at a time, first dip in egg and milk then coat the chicken with the dry flour mixture, then the egg and milk mixture again, and then back into the flour. Be sure that each piece is coated very generously. Stack the chicken on a plate or cookie sheet until each piece has been coated. Drop the chicken, one piece at a time into the hot shortening. Fry half of the chicken at a time (4 pieces) for 12-15 minutes, or until it is golden brown. You should be sure to stir the chicken around halfway through the cooking time so that each piece cooks evenly. Remove the chicken to a rack or towels to drain for about 5 minutes before eating.
