It seems to me that your more of a Mother figure rather than a future wife. He will not open up, but he feels protected when you are around. He gets upset when you date someone because he feels someone is taking you away from him(kid thoughts). Being in a profession such as your own, you should know the tell, tell signs. Quit feeling sorry, because you know you are hurting him and yourself by hanging on to a hope that will never happen.

Look at what has happened since we quit spanking our children. Everywhere you go, there are children who disrespect there mothers. The children are telling parents what to do. The grades of school children are getting worse, whats the penalty they face if they get an "F" ? They would probally get a bribe from their mother --- pick up your grade and i'll get you that new game you want. So the question is, does spanking work "Hell Yeah", bring it back I say.

If the man takes the lady to court, the name will be changed to his unless he is a threat to the child. This is standard in all 50 states. Name changes are made public record unless your in the witness protection program. :modhammer:

Why wait? If you are searching for the man of your dreams, look at all of the time wasted on waiting. If this is the man that will make you happy, then most likely your kids will like him too. Your kids are an extension of who you are so do not waste the days on losing out on happiness due to fear.

This is completely up to your daughter. A parent controlling what a child says at graduation is silly. The most she should say is " My mom and my dad, and I'd like to also mention my step mom" worded different than I wrote. This is the best she should do, but only by her choice to do so.

Look, your child knows who her real dad is so do not worry if your ex has her call him dad. All this situation will end up doing, is hurting your child. You might tell her to stop calling him dad, and they may have her call him dad. Thus, you will have a child caught in the middle and getting hurt. Be a man about it and accept whatever the ex does in regards to the dad issue, just go along with what your child feels comfortable with. I have experienced this first hand and I will tell you it works out just fine. No need to worry and just be the father that your child needs in her life.

By reading this post, it seems there are some genuine women out there. A first date/meeting should be a shared experience. Having an expectation that one person should pick up the tab is a negative thought. Sure, most men would gladly pay for the entire meal without a second thought because that is the gentleman thing to do. To find out about one anothers interest and hopefully find partnership that will last a lifetime, it would be best to think about what first impressions mean. I can talk from my point of view. Most white men will only date white women and it is just a natural thing. I know many ethnic ladies that are sexy,hot, and available, but I believe in only dating my own race. This is not a racist view point. I feel god made us different races for a very specific reason.
