Health care

The difference is that conservatives dig into their pockets for charity. Liberals don't to give their OWN money, they want to give other people's money away.
The same is true of healthcare. Business owners dig into their own pockets and give their employees heath insurance. Liberals want to tax everyone so they can use someone elses money to pay for it.
BTW, I still haven't heard a single Dem say that they will be on the same plan as the rest of us. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Cap and Trade and Global Warming

All of these nice eco nazis are on grant money to fund their stupidity. They dumped "the global warming" boondoggle and now are using the "climate change boondoggle".
It's Solar cycles that determine the temperatures on Earth. They are still going to try to foist that cap and tax business on us.
If the Earth continues to cool, are they ask us to rip off our catalytic converters and to drive more?

It would be appropriate to consider your reply before responding and it's probable effect on the other party. I would have said "I had an unfortunate experience, but I am ready for a new relationship".

Maybe we are being too hard on Hasan. Obama is getting credit for the jobs he didn't lose. Hasan should not be chastised for the 14 people he murdered, but rather be praised for the 300 million he didn't.

I am a guitarist. I fill in for local bands. I was always into rock, rockabilly, blues, country, folk. Some guitarists I like are Scotty Moore, Cliff Gallup, Carl Perkins, George Harrison, Luther Perkins, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Muddy Waters.
I go through stages where I study various styles. Right now I am playing some old Jazz songs like "I'll See You in My Dreams", "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea"
I am also studying some Django Reinhardt solos.

Obama is to blame for everthing. Our auto industry didn't crumble and our banks aren't failing at an alarming rate and it's all Obama's fault. Throw him out now.
Once you are President the buck needs to stop at your desk. You can get by blaming your predecessor for a while, however it's getting old after over 10 months. He ought be a mensch, suck it up and move forward.

Politically correctness
Posted:
11/17/2009 2:51:48 PM
In the world of political correctness, a 5' petite, female, deputy weighing 100 pounds is an acceptable choice to guard a 6' 2" 200 pound prisoner by herself.
In the real world, Nichols overpowered the deputy, almost killing her in the process. He shot and killed four more people before he surrendered to police.
I have no doubt that such women are capable of being deputies in many capacities. However, I think at the very least, she needed back up in that situation.
There is more to the story here
http://www.11alive.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=121620&catid=3
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Nichols
According to Deputy Thomas, Hall declined help to escort the prisoner.
three years after her injuries Hall still cannot work, that she has difficulty with speech, walking unassisted. He also said she still suffers from confusion, memory problems, and that she has vision problems because of the damage done to her right eye which now droops.
It is very sad indeed.

Talking about dead folks or ex wives or gf's in bed is not my idea of a good time. Forgive me for being so blunt. It's thrusting your grief upon the shoulders of acquaintances. That kind of emotional upset is best discussed with family, long time friends, a pastor or therapist.
We all have lost loved ones, no need to share. I really don't see the point, of telling a BF of 3 weeks something like that especially in bed.
Were you looking for sympathy? Were you trying to tell him you are not ready for sex?
Whatever it was, you'd be better off saying it straight out than dragging your deceased fiancee into the picture. You are never going to hear from this guy again. That bed was too crowded for him to stick around.
You seriously need to take some time from dating, get some closure on the situation.
Until you are over your fiancee, it is not fair to date anyone.

Good point. Killene

Why not? They all have fit the same profile so far. When in doubt, shoot the angry, young middle eastern man shouting about Allah.

How do they know who the enemy is?
The point has been made that if everyone had a weapon, and everyone saw someone else shooting, who is going to know for a certainty who the bad guy is?
If you were at the scene when he began shooting, then it is academic on who to shoot. If you arrived after the shooting started, you would have to have the presence of mind to evaluate the situation before firing. Obviously the police officer Kimberly Munley did that correctly.

Men don't dislike intelligent and witty women. We dislike abrasive, obnoxious ones, who THINK they're intelligent and witty.
This guy nailed it. You have to love the self delusion: "he dumped me because I was TOO intelligent and witty and he felt threatened" The same women probably think they are TOO good looking!

We better get clue about PC before it kills more people.
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/57134
Cynthia Hall tried to warn us, but we didn’t listen.
Hall, as you may recall, was a 51-year-old Fulton County sheriff’s deputy assigned to escort alleged rapist Brian Nichols to court in 2005. Alone. He was a strapping six foot, 200-plus pounds. She stood five feet, maybe around 100 pounds; it would be impolite to ask a woman how much she weighs.
It was also impolite, apparently, to ask whether she could handle her prisoner without help. Oh, and Nichols was unshackled, so jurors wouldn’t jump to conclusions about him.
......Nichols overpowered Hall, almost killing her in the process. He shot and killed four more people before he surrendered to police. They were all victims, it seems, of a political correctness that insists we ignore physical differences and pretend deputies such as Hall can handle desperate prisoners such as Nichols.

According the this article, the insanity defense is only used in 1% of the cases. In those cases it is unsuccessful 75% of the time.
http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/display/article/10168/54196?verify=0
defendants who are found insane spend as much, or more, time in state custody than their criminally convicted counterparts...... the insanity plea is actually based on a long-standing legal tradition and is rarely successfully completed. In fact, approximately 70% of insanity acquittals result from agreements between opposing attorneys.........

Not so fast! Recanvass gives Hoffman hope in NY-23
A recanvassing of votes cast in the highly contested NY-23 race shows that the 5,335-vote lead once enjoyed by Rep.-for-now Bill Owens, the Democrat, has narrowed to about 3,000 with another 10,000 absentee ballot uncounted.
UPDATE: Josh Kraushaar, who has been following this closely, says Conservative Party boss Mike Long thinks Owens is going to win at the end of the day -- because only about 5,400 absentees have been returned.

In light of our current situation, it would seem that the anti federalists had it right all along.
I do see several states that are moving toward nullification to Obamacare.
