Conan O Brien is taking over The Tonight Show

I thought Conan got off to a good start Monday. The opening skit of him running from New York to Los Angeles was great. The Universal Studios tour was also funny, especially when they went out on the open roads. And Conan's reaction to Will Ferral's entrance was priceless.

Conan O Brien is taking over The Tonight Show

I was a huge Letterman fan back in his 'Late Night' days. He never really was as silly on the 'Late Show' as he was back at NBC. It took a while, but Conan filled those shoes rather well. Some of Conan's best material was during the writer's strike. His feud with Colbert and Stewert was legendary. That's the kind of host they need for the 'Tonight Show.'

suggestions for good comedy movies
Posted:
10/5/2008 5:13:46 AM
You can't have a list of comedy movies without the Abrahams/Zuckers classics:
Airplane
Airplane 2
Top Secret
Naked Gun
Naked Gun 2 1/2
... I won't bother to list the third Naked Gun film.

Anybody like Jeff Dunham the stand up ventriloquist?
Posted:

I saw his lastest comedy special a couple weeks ago and it was great. I used to really like his act about ten years ago, and wondered if he'd be able to keep it fresh, and he did. Walter is definetely the best of the group. Though Jose's one liner always gets me.
On a stick.

Halloween Candy - to give or not to give
Posted:

I really enjoy handing out candy, mostly to see the costumes. However, I appearently live in an area where virtually no one goes around trick or treating (mostly older folks). So if I want to partake in the holiday, I have to go over a friend's house.

Inventions you'd like to see!

I'm still waiting for one of those Star Trek transporter devices to put an end to the work commute, as well as long distance relationships. But with my luck, my head will end up backwards like in Spaceballs.

Debt/Credit Debt How Much Is Too Much?
Posted:
6/11/2008 5:07:43 PM
The most I've ever had in credit card debt is $3,000 and that was long ago. I currently have one credit card and I pay it off every month. Other than my mortgage, I am debt free! Woo hoo!

POF Advertising.....Plenty of Fish Sucks? Huh?
Posted:
6/5/2008 3:06:58 AM
It's not the POF Sucks ads that bother me. Nor is it the Sugar Daddy ads (why I'd need one, I don't know...
).. but that horrible banner ad that shows the ugly mutant girl is just freaky!
As others have said, the ads are what keep this site free. And they could be worse. They could be popups or those annoying Flash ads that appear over the bulk of the screen.

Funniest pranks you ever played on people or were played on you
Posted:
6/2/2008 4:50:43 PM
I had a co-worker who was a HUGE Cleveland Browns fan. She played a prank on me, so I retalliated one day after work by changing all of her desk decorations from Browns stuff to Baltimore Ravens. She had photos of family members wearing Browns gear that I replaced with photoshopped versions of them now wearing Ravens gear. I swapped her wedding picture of one with her marryingArt Modell, and even changed her name in the company email system so that her last name was Modell. It was a great work prank as she would discover new details throughout the day.

Match.com and others
Posted:
6/1/2008 6:49:39 PM
I joined Match.com not that long ago when I also rejoined POF. Now I just got one of those "Someone has emailed you" messages. Since they wouldn't tell me anything about its origin (c'mon... at least say who it's from so I can see if it's from a real person) I suspected it was bait to make me pay for membership. After reading these posts, I'm glad I didn't waste my time. I'll stick with POF. It worked for me before. I'll work for me again.

It would have been more believable if it was footage from ALF.

Email back and forth then poof they delete their profile.
Posted:

Oh yeah, this happened to me two years ago. While we only had a few emails back and forth, she disappeared from POF with no explaination. I was curious what happened, and found her my space page where she had just posted a blog that she decided to come out of the closet. I hope it wasn't something I said!
True story! Lesson learned: move on. It sucks, but it wasn't meant to be.

What does you car say about........
Posted:

I drive a Toyota Corolla so let's see...
Educated: Hooked on Phonics worked for me!
Intelligent: Shucks! Why, thank you!
Likes discussing politics: Nope. I hate politics.
Very well-read: What's a book?
Mature: See above.
Doesn’t take big risks: Correct. I'm not a gambler my any means.
Invested his or her money well/enjoying a cushy lifestyle: I do pretty well, but it's not like I stock ivory back scratchers.
Cares about value, not flash: Yes
Thinks that support, friendship, and honesty are essential to a good healthy relationship: 100% agree!
Doesn’t mind spending a lot of money on a mate: Go on a date with me, and you get a complimentary ivory back scratcher!
So overall, it's fairly accurate!

Tipping at a Restaurant
Posted:
5/28/2008 7:25:14 PM
When I tip at a restaraunt, the one and only factor I use is if my drink refills are timely. If I never have an empty glass, they get a great tip. If I go for 15 minutes with nothing but ice... sorry, but that means the service doesn't deserve a good tip.

are empty profiles a turn off to u?
Posted:

To me, the best way for me to tell if I have any interest in someone is through their profile. Pics help, but the profile is the key selling point. I just can't find anything to latch onto when someone doesn't provide any information about themselves.
