Must be based on area.
I work in yr2 we encourage the use of fine motor control, joined up writing (aka cursive) and how pens help that.
White boards are no help to left handers IMO

...the spelling mistake was quite amusing...I got it too!!! Made me grin...its no big deal Hanneke...just very funny...
I found it hysterical too considering we are being asked to analyse something that is so obviously anal
Are people so scared these days to have a laugh at anything for fear of reprisal?

Click the Esc button on your pc then unplug it from the wall, and get out in the real world.

I think my Dad's partner is only with him so as not to be alone. I can't see what benefit he gets as she is a bossy witch who usually does what she wants and leaves him on his own a lot. He is in his eighties and I think she is in her sixties.
I'm going to stick with cats for company and toy boys for entertainment

And sorry there is not always an alternative socially for some of us. working 12 hr shifts in a care home and teaching some evenings means that I go home and flake out. Pub and a pint... it must be three years since I had time for either.
From that comment it doesn't sound as though you should be on a 'dating' site either, as where could you fit the date in? ......... I haven't looked at your profile to see what your 'needs' are in that department, so please don't bite my head off. It was only an observation on your post

Did any one else notice the lack of content Jedward got in the group song and in the 'final twelve' single? It's obvious they are there for the 'entertainment factor' and not their singing ability ............ not often I agree with Miss Aussie Botox.
FFs they are like the pickle they put in a MaccyD that people pick out and throw away.

Cats vs Dogs
Posted:
11/14/2009 4:35:21 PM
Everyone always promotes the dog as the sensitive one 'man's best friend' and all that BUT .............
I had a cat that I re-homed after he had been rescued ( he was locked in a flat when his previous owners moved). He lived happily with me and then with me and my husband after our marriage.
When my husband decided he no longer wanted to be married and left, said cat would leave the house if husband came round to discuss divorce etc and sit in the garden, only coming back in the house when he had left.
To my mind he was making his point ;)

When you have a site of existing members voting who can be allowed to join you have a recipe for disaster and a total b!tch fest.
The brittle 'beautiful' people are not going to allow anyone more beautiful in are they? Guys will be voting
for
beautiful girls who are voted
against
by the existing girls and vice versa.
Who started the ball rolling anyway? Who chose the first 'beautiful person'? Would you really want to be with someone who was that arrogant?
I'm off to join Dogs'R'Us .................... but do they accept Cats?

Is there really a Santa Claus
Posted:
11/12/2009 11:04:31 AM
I resented the fact that some fat, be-whiskered old guy with no dress sense got all the credit at Christmas, so my daughter had one present and a small stocking from Santa and all the rest came from Mummy
Santa's present was wrapped in different paper to the rest of the presents and was usually the 'main' thing (you know the thing that you have to move heaven and earth to get and then the box is more interesting than the present) .................... but all the fun stuff that kept her amused and unwrapping all morning was from me.
We always left food and drink for Santa and Rudolph, and the year she asked Santa for snow I went out at 3 in the morning with a can of fake snow to decorate the front garden
She always knew that the shopping centre santa's were decoys because the 'real' Santa was too busy ........................ I feel sad for the children who aren't allowed to be children for long enough

have never seen a cat do anything usefull
You obviously don't know any elderly or housebound people for whom a cat is a source of great comfort and companionship then?
Wasn't there a study done on how beneficial stroking an animal can be? Which is why animals were taken into hospitals as 'therapy' ............ and who loves being stroked more than a cat ?

Women the superior sex
Posted:

We've seen the mistakes of the past, why are we still nitpicking over trivialities?
Because we are genetically disposed to.
A while back we had the Alpha male/Alpha female thread, I haven't checked to see if it is still around or confined to the POF graveyard in the ether
But we are designed, like all animals, to create the strongest strain of the species that we can ........... so Alpha will get Alpha etc etc.
The fun comes in finding out who is 'Alpha' enough

I fully admit to being politely dishonest when the need arises
I am totally in agreement with that post
Had a date with a guy a while back, it was enjoyable but no spark ............ I certainly could not have seen myself taking it up to a sexual level. He enthused the next day about how much fun it had been and hoped we would do it again soon.
Should I have said .................. " I can't imagine us having sex? So it ain't gonna happen"
I was honest with myself, but let him down gently IMO.

If I thought for one second you were at all serious in any of the above, I might have actually answered your queries in an honest and sensible manner. However your own puerile manner in which you asked the question leads me to believe you are just trying to get a rise....and it hasn't worked.
And it strikes me ....................... that the same responses keep getting thrown at any question raised that disagrees with your view.
The whole point surely is that people WILL disagree on Art and Music. They will always like what they like and associate a 'look' with a genre ........................ it has happened for years (even more than the OP has lived for

Women the superior sex
Posted:

I didn't want to play the intelligent card when I try so hard to prove I am blonde but here goes
The neural pathways that connect the left brain to the right brain are four times thinner in men than women, meaning it allows womento access the bigger picture and men are more single minded.
The reason behind this being that............ way back when men had only one role in life ....................... to provide lunch!!!!!!!!! they had to be single minded hunters, and what a fantastic job they did
Women on the other hand had to tend the fire, look after the children, watch out for enemies/predators/randy neighbours so developed their peripheral vision and ability to multi task.
Women cannot reverse parallel park because they can see the bigger picture................. thereby spotting the parking space they can drive straight in to

A lot of the time 'celebrities' or famous people are surrounded by sycophants who like to bathe in the reflected glory and therefore never say
no
to said famous person for fear of removal from the inner sanctum.
There is no voice of reason to provide balance, and they believe they are above and beyond the law, and above and beyond the bounds of normal, decent behaviour with regard to their fellow man.

Sometimes doing something outside your comfort zone can bring sursprising and refreshing results.
I have probably done more things outside your 'comfort zone' than you , as I am somewhat older and can spell 'surprising'
Do not assume that others have not, just 'cos they don't shout about it

Internet safety rule number one..........................DO NOT MEET AT HIS HOUSE.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but was a teenager recemtly found dead after meeting a guy from the net unbeknownst to her parents ?
This may be a free site, but follow the rules of the paid sites ....................... tell a friend where you are going, and don't meet at your house.

I'm pretty much with Mitzie above me on this one.
I arrange 'dates' for myself not 'meets' .................. because I arrange 'meets' for another site, as in chat meets aka social functions aka events
If I am meeting someone of the opposite sex on a one-to-one basis it is a date, pure and simple .............. ok sometimes it is not pure and sometimes it is not simple but that may be waaaaaaaay off topic
BUT (the big but is back
) to me whether it is a short date i.e coffee, a longer date i.e lunch or a longer date .......... dinner in Paris (yeah, I know dream on
) it is still a date 'cos I marked it on the calendar or in the diary.
One of the best dates ever was lunch that turned into a cultural afternoon at the Tate Modern followed by dinner, a walk along the river and then dessert .................. and I went home alone, by choice.
Another 'date' with someone else was coffee and I could hardly wait for it to be cool enough to drink, so I could leave
I like to be flexible

Why is it that apparently any type of music is deemed as acceptable apart from metal
Posted:
11/1/2009 6:41:46 PM
I worked for a while in a venue that promoted a 'grunger' type night, allowing young bands to showcase their talents for a very small or non-existent price.
Having been around the music scene a long time and seen a lot of bands ........... rich, famous, poor and infamous
I am tolerant of, and enjoy many kinds of music........ however the thrash metal that these kids seemed to play made my ears want to bleed.
And that comment comes from someone who went home deaf from being too near the speakers at a Thin Lizzy concert and my first live gig was T.Rex just after they shortened from Tyrannasaurus Rex

I guess it did as he is ex-directory now
I have just spent a couple of days out and about with my gorgeous, darling daughter. Despite the vast difference in our ages and shoe size, she frequently comments on recently purchased clothes of mine with " I am sooooooooo borrowing that" and she does
I trust her judgement, if she thinks I look less than good she will say and always has done, but if she thinks I look good she will tell me that too. The last couple of days she has commented on 'guys checking me out' ........... I am oblivious to that fact if we are shopping as my radar is programmed for shoes
If we were sat together in a bar I would have thought the dirty perves were checking her out

Today in the Daily Mail (yeah I know boo, hiss, string me up
) an article about parents being banned from supervising their own children in an adventure playground unless they are CRB checked.
It seems play rangers (fully qualified and CRB checked)
patrol
the two adventure playgrounds which caters for kids aged 5-15.
Sooooooo you can let your five year old into a fenced in area and be 'patrolled' not supervised .......... anyone else a little un-comfy with that?
Oh and you have to give them your contact details before they let them inside .............. in the event of an accident. How about letting the parents inside and prevent the bl**dy accident

as we were 'live' at the time on the phone he heard the audible response to his messages from my pc, no difference in real time receiving messages quick or otherwise

Hams I walked past the venue last night (nice re-vamp it's had) but the sign on the door said 'members only' ................... do we have to join something to enter?

Some people join dating sites and meet
the one
........................ unfortunately ex number of months, weeks or days later
the one
turns into just another player/shark/shyte/or any description you want to put.
Original member of POF isthen back on the site more cynical/disillusioned/jaded than before, soooooooooooooo new members of the opposite sex have to try EVEN harder to impress.
Good Luck and happy

SUGGESTING A DATE

I had talked to a guy for a while who was only interested in friends (I was happy with that as he made me laugh and had a very quick wit).......... one day I was moaning about a guy who had arranged a date (time wise) and then forgot to mention to me the exact details of 'said date'. Mr 'I want to be friends' said "if you want to meet up sometime would be cool". I said " what you doing tomorrow?". We had one of the best 'first dates' ever
and even had a second, if he ever asked again (which is very unlikely) I would have no problems with a third
