What makes NASCAR so popular?

I have always liked "stock car racing". It's loud and fast. I really like the way they interview the drivers and others that make up the sport. Just wish they would do a bit more technical aspects of racing. Show us more of the cut away car.
NASCAR is so great because NASCAR does a good telling you that. If anyone is gilty of tooting their own horn it is NASCAR.
They have been fortunate to have the right things happen at the right time and then where able to take those fortunes and grow it to what it is today. Controversy has always been NASCARs best friend.
Which is a spec racing series designed to provide as much excitement as possible. Which is why there are many was to catch back up (ie cautions) and then hopefully creating close racing.
Anyone that says it is a joke to drive those cars has never turned a wheel on a race track and has no idea what it is like to enter a turn at 150-180 and drive on the edge.
Is it as hard as F1 or MotoGp, nope but it still is not easy.

map quest or google maps to place a link showing the distance or route from where you are to where the other person lives.
Not such a great idea if you care about people knowing more than just the town you live in.
IMO
That would be divulging a bit to much information.
My searches in this rural backwater that I live in default to statewide and I find that someone of interest often lives nearly three hours drive away from me by having to check out the name of the little town they live in:-)
I follow this rule.
If I have not heard of the place there is a good chance it is far away.

Is it possible for someone to be in terrible shape and know a lot about fitness? Sure.
Agree it would be the exception more than the rule.
So she has got the technique down to get the killer body and the accent makes me want go out and buy a Volvo, but as most know, fitness only plays a role and diet is just as if not more important to achieve that look and maybe even some chemicals tossed and of course gentics.
It seems though there is one thing she is not so good at though, paying the bills with her web hosting company.
When I go to the page I get this message.

Why do so few men take part in yoga.?
Posted:
11/22/2009 3:06:54 PM
Like in: Ooooh heeey Joe...I`m off to my yoga class. It just sounds gay/feminine/submissive which could be why it is not widely practiced by men in the US. Plus it does little to improve ones physical "appearance". One can practice yoga for decades and still look relatively average in physical appearance as opposed to practicing something more aggressive and sport a lean and athletic physique.
Actually the lifestyle does allot to improve ones appearance, but that is not the focus of yoga and is only a side effect.
I agree, most people would rather do something that makes them look better than actually improving their bodies and mind thus improving their quality of life.

I'm sure some of you have seen Zuzanna's YouTube videos if you haven't visited her site.
Nope, never heard of her before you posted the link.
She's in incredible shape and I was considering trying out some of her routines rather than splitting up my cardio and weights.
She certainly is in great shape, she is very fortunate to have the right kind of genetics and plastic surgeon that allowed her to look that way, as to the workout helping I am sure there is some help but I would say she would look pretty much the same way with any type of complete fitness plan.
Has anyone tried them? Are there any you prefer over the others?
Already do some things similar.
I prefer what ever kicks my ass the most.
IMO:
Bodyrock = Fitness Porn
OP - Would you be as impressed with the exercises if it was just an average looking person doing them?

Sarah Palin Stepping Down As Alaska Gov. Running for Pres. 2012?
Posted:
11/22/2009 9:08:42 AM
What's really interesting is, that it's the Obama supporters that are driving her popularity and book sales up. The more critical they get the more popular she becomes....Keep it up Guys.
If you are wondering why they are going nuts it may have something to do with the fact she is a wacko and has even bigger nut jobs behind her.
I wonder how many people know that Palin did not even write the book but had a ghostwriter do all the work.
Palin's ghostwriter - Lynn Vincent
Anyway, when Palin was doing her due diligence before hiring Vincent, she probably didn't look into her association with McCain, because she probably just assumed it was John McCain, because she's an idiot. We're sure she will promptly reject and denounce Vincent's racist affiliations.
Lynn Vincent, who also ghost wrote the memoir of Lt. Gen. William G. "Jerry" Boykin, the former head of the Army's Special Forces Command, who literally believes that his job in the U.S. military was to defeat Satan for the Christian nation of America. Of one of our enemies in Somalia, Boykin said, "I knew that my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God and his was an idol." And why does the world hate us? "We are hated because we are a nation of believers." And how do we defeat terrorism? "[W]e come against them in the name of Jesus."
In summary, Sarah Palin's book will be awesome because her ghostwriter has abundant experience in shaping the confused, fevered thoughts of religious fanatics into sentences.

If that chemical has effected them and I would say it probably has you combine that with limited breeding stock and access to modern medicine and it is just a matter of time.
Simply put not enough outside stock in the breed, if you are not genetically diverse enough you open yourself up to this.
If you want to find people that live for the most part disease free just find a completely isolated community.
They live active and purposeful lives and their diets have stayed the same for centuries.
They have not weaken themselves with any modern medicine so only the strong survive to breed.
One main thing is that they do not know what they do not know. If they think that rain comes from some god that is just fine and works for them, because truth is not the key, but belief is the key.
They know not of artificial stress and disease, basically their complete lack of understanding has been the key to their survival.
Is it possible for someone living in North America or Europe to achieve that, probably not, but why not try and stay as positive as you can and remember that the amount you get out of something is directly related to how much you put into it. Please keep in mind though this is not reason enough to wear spandex.
As to the Schizophrenia, the only thing I would question is the stats of China and India, because you have to consider environmental factors as a possible cause so you can not then assume that the ratios will be the as other countries.
IMO
We are all a little bit nuts and some more than others, it is what makes us different and unique and television interesting.
The drug companies have done a great job at pointing these things out and turning them into to problems only for the purpose of fixing them, for a profit of course.
When it comes to mental disease, I say the treatment should not be focused on the people afflicted with the disease but the ones that are intolerant of it.

A math question: Is there any way to increase your odds when buying lottery tickets?

Over 70% of the adult population in Canada playing the lottery, and we're all "stupid undereducated poor folks".
No that would be incorrect.
You can not judge people for what they do, you have to judge by why they do it.
Two possible reasons to play:
Because hey why not its only $2.00
- is probably viewed differently than -
The individual that thinks that increasing his or her odds from 1 in 13,983,816 to 1 13,983,806 is a good reason to spend more than $2 a week.

Would love to see proof of that statement. Parkinsons as an example has a genetic link as well as head/spine/nerve injury link.
Research has shown that people who eat more fruits and vegetables, high-fiber foods, fish, and omega-3 rich oils (sometimes known as the Mediterranean diet) and who eat less red meat and dairy may have some protection against Parkinson's disease. But the reason for this is still being studied.
Sofi F, et al. (2008). Adherence to Mediterranean diet and health status: Meta-analysis. BMJ. Published online September 11, 2008 (doi:10.1136/bmj.a1344).
Schizophrenia has no proven cause, although some research suggest a viral infection, or some type of malnutrion when the mother was pregnant.
So if the mother had been following a healthy lifestyle would the child has less chance of developing schizophrenia?

Do you like to like be the Pursuer or the Pursued?
Posted:
11/21/2009 5:11:06 PM
Does it change your level of interest if the woman initiates first and asks you out?
Yes.
Specifically, do you prefer to be the initiator, or does it matter?
Does not matter.
I ask because the dynamics seem better between us when the man initiates...
The dynamic seem better because you have hand.
The person with hand, has control and thus will enjoy the experience more.
If you are the one being
Perused
then you know that you are wanted and then it is just up to you to decide.
If you are the
Pursuer
then you are never 100% sure.
So your experience is not a male / female thing it is a power thing.
Thanks guys!
You are welcome.

There's not much you can do about Parkinsons, cancer or schizophrenia.
Actually yes there is, a healthy diet and exercise can lower your chances of being struck with any of those diseases.

Oprah show ending - Arrogant to the end.
Posted:

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that the timing is critical for this, and she had this planned for years now.
So how many people that had dreams to become president of the USA did not plan it ahead of time?
Wins the election is a friggin landslide just based on popularity...and to "Keep America In The Black" (or some other ridiculous yet catchy slogan regarding some manner of economic upturn by that time and inside joke to the first black Prez).
So when a little boy or girl grows up in the USA and they are told they can be anything they want, provided that they try hard and apply themselves and if they are lucky maybe someday they could be president is ok with you provided they are not black.
First Obama broke the mold...now Oprah will continue the chain AND reinvent it by now not only being black, but FEMALE.
Pssst:
your racist side is showing.

New christian craze: Praying for Obama's death.
Posted:

... or you support socialism or Marxist ideals, freeloading off your fellow man, a crippling and totally unsustainable level of national debt, a corrupt federal government, and think it's okay to mock your fellow Christians for believing the bible or actually voting based on thier principles, then no, I guess we don't hold a patent...
FYI:
Freeloading off your fellow man and not paying back your fair share and keeping a disproportionate amount for yourself is a capitalist ideal.
So if someone that supports a corrupt federal government is not a christian, I guess there are going to be allot of Bush lovers that are going to hell.

Take back control of our taxes
Posted:
11/21/2009 11:39:03 AM
You're right this is vague. I don't have an exact figure, just that I know alot people from all walks of life and I am hearing the same complaint.
Well who does not like to complain about taxes?
...the Bush tax cuts are about to expire so there's another tax hike....
Is that the tax break for people that earn more than $250K?
As much as the bleeding hearts scream the rich don't pay enough, the rich don't have enough to cover the current deficit and the hundred trillion coming due in unfunded liabilities as the Boomers retire.
So who created these unfunded liabilities?
Eventually, they will have to tax the middle class and the poor even more. We're on an unsustainable course and a tax revolt will most likely be the first step in attempting to change Washington. Like King George and The British Parliament one wonders if they will listen when they have become so accustomed to just imposing their will on the American People.
So your solution is not to pay any taxes and then the whole problem will fix its self.
Brilliant, although you should be careful posting this on a public forum as someone like Glen Beck may see and steal the idea for himself.

Obama Administration lies about jobs created or saved.
Posted:

I have never given Bush free passes, I disagreed with a lot of what he did, and I have never given him one in the above instance either. But I also didn't see every move Bush making digging us deeper in a hole. He may have created the hole, but he did it with the help of a democratic majority House and Senate, to which he played appeaser, and that same basic group of people with the help of Obama have taken that hole, and are proceeeding to turn it into a crater of massive proportions.
The ironic thing is Bush did got the support of congress and the American people with lies based on false information.
Maybe that is what Obama should have done, cover up the mistake in reporting and tell everyone that if they do not believe the numbers then maybe they would be looking at a giant mushroom cloud and to question him would be unpatriotic.
Seemed to work for Bush.

Is internet dating more taboo in African/Asian cultures than in Western cultures?
Posted:

Is internet dating viewed differently within different cultures?
Yes, like all things, different people view it in different ways.
I am a young white female living in the UK and my general opinion about online dating is that it is becoming more acceptable and widely used, but there are still taboos and stigma attatched to it.
What stigmas do you attach to online dating?
Is online dating seen as more taboo within, for example, the Indian community?
I would say any form of dating that does not fall along traditional lines would be seen with some skepticism, but not because its online, but because it is different from how the older generation may have done it.
Id love to hear from a variety of people from different cultural backgrounds all over the world on their opinions about dating online. Im intrigued to discover different cultural opinions.

Take back control of our taxes
Posted:
11/21/2009 8:26:13 AM
I've noticed many are not happy with the way our taxed money is being used.
How many is many?
What if we protested in the form of withholding taxes? An individual would go to jail...but the entire city...or possibly entire country withholding taxes until the leaders we elected tone down their lifestyle, pay for their personal luxuries with their own paycheck and put the money from our paychecks into where we decide it goes.
Yeah super idea and while the rest of the world is calling in your debt, just write them an IOU and hope it all works out.
So my questions are: If a year was picked to withold taxes as a form of protest would you do it? What do you think would happen? And what would you request be done with your taxed money? After all it is your money, you worked for it, you should have a say in how it's spent.
Your say ends with who you elect and that is why you elect them.
The vast majority of people do not know the 1st thing about what it takes to run government let alone run a nation.
(Cable news show hosts included)
I would do it, thinking it might actually make those in control of the taxes and government spending realize they can't continue to do whatever they want without listening to what the people want. I think it is possible to change the current system, it would just take more effort on our part.
That would be about as smart as letting a 3 year old decide what they want to eat.
Yeah sure they will stop cying when you feed them McD's but then down the road you will have to deal with the collective fatness.
...and IMO is basically what the current administration is dealing with now and bunch of whiners that are not longer getting what they want.
(by whiners I am referring to the pundits that are fuelling this)

posting your general location on your profile
Posted:
11/21/2009 7:53:38 AM
i'd like to make a suggestion. how many times have you looked at the profile's city and never heard of it?
About 10% of the time.
when i look at a profile, many times i have no idea where that person lives in relation to me other than the state. ~~~~HERE'S WHAT I HAVE DONE.
next to my town i list the largest city next to it. so in my profile i write Brookfield (near Youngstown), Ohio.
Where is Youngstown?
that gives the viewer who may not know where Brookfield is an idea if it's really far away or near. most of us know the towns in a 25 mile radius but sometimes not farther away.
Far / Near.
Just had a Sesame Street Grover Flashback.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf-HBMq9ggg
does anyone think this is A GOOD IDEA that will catch on with people who don't mind knowing where you live and help you to orientate you to them?
If you have a profile on POF and have filled in the city section correctly, they already know where you live.
Side Note:
Not sure if this is the case, but by adding extra text to the city field it may interfere with others doing a search for uses in that city, either way probably best just to leave it with the correct city / town and let the user figure it out for themselves and if you ant to help them, then put the extra information in your "about me" section.

Personal protection canines
Posted:

I am wanting to hear peoples opinions on using dogs for personal protection, I am learning to train dogs and want to breed and train for personal protection, as well as other basic and specialty areas. I have heard many mixed responses to this from that is a cool thing to do, to, thats to much of a reliability.
To much of a reliability?
I am going to assume you meant to say to much of a liability.
If you want to create an attack dog then yes you must assume the liability of that animal attacking an innocent person, because you created it.
My question is, if a dog is correctly trained in personal protection and still acts as a family pet ( trustworthy with childeren, allows welcomed guests into the home, will not act to a stranger until instructed, and if instructed to bite an attacker will release on command).
You can not have an attack dog as a family pet, they are two different things.
You can have a loyal and obedient dog that will protect you when you are threatened.
If you have properly trained the dog and it understands that you are the alpha then if it perceives a threat to you or your family it will protect you, but if you want a dog that will attack by command then you are asking for trouble.
The breeds that I wish to own my self are dobermans, rottweilers, american bulldog, and american pitbull terrier. These breeds are my choices peerly because I like and respect the breed. And of course I would have no problem working with any other breed, these four are breeds that I would like to own. Looking at getting a pup this fall (doberman or rotweiler).
Looking forward to reading about the court case, just hope that no kids get hurt.
I would love to hear peoples comments and opinions

Obama Administration lies about jobs created or saved.
Posted:

Ok if you say so...I just thought Obama was supposed to be so much better than Bush. Thought everyone was tired of a president that lied to the nation with his inaccurate reports and speeches.
From and outsiders perspective I would say Obama is far better than Bush, especially the job he is doing repairing the reasons why most of the world hates America.
I thought the reason everyone voted for Obama is that he was going to do things much better than Bush, including keeping the people honestly informed of government policies and bills.
Many were very tired of the Crap GW was pulling and were looking forward to a change from GW's screw-ups, including me.
Making a mistake in reporting of some numbers.
Starting a war with mis-information.
I see a big difference there.
Maybe you Obama supporters are happy with another GW in office by the name of Obama but there seems to be a growing number of people that aren't. Maybe you Obama people think it's great that Obama is just as bad as GW was or maybe even worse in his screw-ups. It seems that Obama's screw-ups in his statistical numbers is one of the reasons Obama is losing in the polls.
I would say the reasons why his numbers are slipping in the polls has to do with people in the media saying he is slipping in the polls.
Many
are getting tired of Obama's misstatements, flawed reports, inaccurate reporting or whatever one wants to call all the untruths Obama and his people keep spurting out. This is especially true in all of Obama's WH speeches and reports concerning the stimulus and what is happening with our taxpayer money.
Many = How many?
I can only assume you do not know or you are just making stuff up.
I would say many = the same number of people that did not like him then as do now, they just think they an make of the difference by yelling.

Is this a Hate Crime ?
Posted:

How is tugging a scarf a hate crime? If she had tugged the scarf of another woman would that be a hate crime? It's assault.
A hate crime is not the act of the crime but the reason behind it.
So to determine if it was a hate crime you have to look at the motivations.
The statements that she allegedly made IMO would be enough for the police to get involved and investigate.
If she did what she did because of a dislike for anyone, then yes it is a hate crime IMO and she deserves the maximum penalty for her actions.

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization
Posted:

Yes Fox did come out on this error.
This is what the topic of this thread has been for several posts now.
People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones
So when Fox makes an error, and they apologize all is forgiven, but any elected official who is not a Republican makes an error and not good enough they lied.
Fox not only makes mistakes but they go to court to and argue that they do not have to tell the truth, if that is not enough to question everything they say then I can only assume those people have installed shatter proof glass.
Anyone who cannot spell Fox without the letters A and U cannot really be trusted to hold an objective viewpoint.
Same could be said for people that post just for the sake of agreeing with someone else and add zero to the thread.

Oprah show ending - Arrogant to the end.

I have seen no evidence of oprah ever doing anything evil. I have seen her do a lot of good however. Oprah is as rich as Midas and has the world by the ass. This angers many people.
I have never seen her do any evil but I also have never seen do any good when you factor in what she is worth.
IMO
At the end of the day if you have more than 3Billion in the bank, you have failed at being charitable.
People see the shows where the audience gets free stuff and think that Oprah gave it away personally.
They do not understand that the company supplied those products to Harpo productions and in some cases they paid a fee for the privilege of having Oprah give it away, which is always worth it, as your product gets the Oprah lift and that is best thing that could happen to you.
When she apologizes to America for Dr. Phil I will forgive her.

“I understand that, you know, we didn’t pay the gratuity, but it was a gratuity, it wasn’t something that was required,” said Wagner.
What they fail to mention is the total size of the group, it was not just two people.
...Pope and John Wagner were hauled away by police and charged with theft for not paying the mandatory 18 percent gratuity totaling $16 after eating at the Lehigh Pub in Bethlehem, Pa. with
six friends
...
Most places have a mandatory 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or greater.
If this was posted in the restaurant or on their menu then Pope and Wagner may be in some trouble.
But really who names their kid Pope?

Microsoft would never let you do that. They'd say you were hacking the box, and lock you out of XBox Live.
You can browse the web with your 360 and not get banned.
Basically when you connect to a PC via the Media Center Extender you use your Xbox as a dumb terminal. You need to change a few settings for it to work but you can still do it in a round about way.
If you try to play on Xbox live with a hacked Xbox yes you will get banned, as it is the only way to maintain a fair and level playing field for everyone, which is why I prefer Xbox Live as I know I am not competing against other that may have tweaked their units.

The original story I read this afternoon said September 11. If its the 9th. I will adjust my opinion simply on the date. The 9th is really too close to the 11th anyway. The rest of what I said regarding her won't change. Those are opinions I will stand by.
It is the 11th.
From what I read your post and rant is based mainly on the date, thus making your rant moot.
I have no love for Oprah or her billions but I think you going a bit to far with your accusations.

Oprah, in a great act of hubris and arrogance, has decided upon September 11, 2011 as the final date of her show. In one great last act of indulgent self importance, Oprah is now trying to meld her last show with the memory of the tragedy of 9/11. Oprah is trying to usurp the sanctity of that date and wrest away the solemnity of the day and make it a celebration of all things Oprah.
The date of last show is scheduled to be:
Sept 9th, 2011
Not Sept 11th.
so are going to retract everything you said?

Obama Administration lies about jobs created or saved.

Following are just a few of the other news agencies reporting on Obama's Administrational lies on the stimulus jobs. Notice the list includes all 3 of the major non-cable networks and CNN. Although I could have included some from Fox, it appears that everyone is reporting on this blunder/lie of the administration on the stimulus jobs.
I took a look at all of the links you posted and none of them say that Obama lied or do they even use that word.
So why do you keep insinuating that they lied, when it is common knowledge that it was an error in the reporting of the numbers?

Jesus the anti-christ

For some reason a cornerstone of the christian faith is that jesus is some how the messiah. The problem with this being that if one reads the bible it becomes appearent that jesus did not fullfill one single messianic prophicy, and his legacy in fact achieved the opposite of all the messiah was to be and do.
To really understand the cornerstones of christainity you need to go read the story of the Egyptian God Horus.
I do not have one speck of doubt that any diligent bible student will see that Jesus is indeed the Son of God sent to Redeem mankind.
That is similar to what my Sunday School Teacher said to me.
So off I went to the library.
Then when my study lead me to uncover that the bible was just a bunch of older stories re-written and when I kept questioning her about those facts, my parents where asked not to bring me back to Sunday school.

Xbox Live Silver isn't a free lite version of Xbox Gold, because you can't play any online games with the Silver account at all....
That is one feature that the free version does not give you, that does not mean it is not the same thing.
Just like with Office there will be certain things that the free version you will not be able to do.
The main attribute of Xbox Live is to be able to connect to the Xbox live community, if you want to enhance that experience and also play games then you must pay.
Silver Membership
Xbox LIVE Silver is a free service that allows any Xbox 360 user with a broadband connection to get online and interact with the Xbox LIVE community.
Gold Membership
Xbox LIVE Gold is a premium membership that lets you play games with friends online. Gold membership includes all the features of Silver (below) plus additional benefits and features.

Be vigilant of those who use sob stories and parade out the victims in order to get what they want. It is an old liberal tactic used to persuade the minions into believing the rubbish they spew out.
Also be vigilant of insensitive retards.
Legalize pot and soon the libs will be crying to legalize cocaine and heroin. Hell, they will be so bored and with the resources they are now using to try and legalize mary jane they'll just use that same energy and same resources to legalize all drugs.
Do you have some proof of this, or are you just spewing?
It never ends with liberals. They do not want a civilized society.
Proof?
People don't have jobs and the libs are worried about legalizing pot. Go figure.
...and the conservatives are worried about not legalizing it when people do not have jobs. Go Figure.

No nothing wrong with your googling, just a failure to understand that -
The fact that it is not compatible with other OS's has nothing to do with it being free or not.

Many companies give away free basic versions of thier products. Microsoft has never been really known to give away a free basic version of their paid product.
Xbox Live Silver - Free
Xbox Live Gold - $49.99
Are they really free?
I think that you actually pay for these when you buy Windows.
Nope.
You can download any of those applications for free, you do not need to buy any Microsoft products to get those.

Yes but none of those were past paid products, they were always free.
In terms of Microsoft giving away a free version of a paid product that you had to pay for in the past, is rare for them
but apparently they have been feeling pressure from other free office apps recently that made them do this. Much like what Nero did recently by giving away a free version of Nero 9.
It is rare for any company to give away something that they use to charge for so why should it be any different for Microsoft?
As to why they are doing it, I think only a few people in Redmond would be qualified to answer that.

Ok, so I can go running in any old shoe I like, then?
No
Wearing shoes can do more damage to your body than not. Especially if you wear them like a crutch and have poor mechanics.
That is why if you are having foot problems you should have someone look at the mechanics of your stride to determine if -
1- If there is any issues with how you run.
2- What may be the right show for you based on how you run and where you will be running.

A mother desiring an Abortion, should have to face the reality that if she cant keep her legs closed,..or at least use "Protection",..then its her responsibility to pay for an Abortion,..NOT the Governments.
Yeah especially those ones that are raped, I bet they where asking for it.
I read this morning, that School Children, can, and do leave their schools,..to go get Abortions,..without their Parents knowledge,..or consent.......
Really , where did you read that at?
Should the Taxpayers,.pay into a system,...so people can get Abortions,..that could of easily been prevented, and not be such a costly burden to our Health Care System ?
Yes they should, because the cost of raising an unwanted child cost the tax payer far more than an abortion.
No wonder Taxpayers are disaproving this Health care Plan,....but I bet it passes.
More like a talking point for conservative evangelicals with an agenda.
Seems to be the conservative way:
Protect the Fetus at all cost, even kill others to defend it.
But
Once you are born you are on your own sucker, no heath care or any help, its everyone for themselves.

What makes you decide to contact someone on POF?
Posted:

I was being totally serious. But Paige brought up a good point in if you list yourself looking for the same sex even for friendship you might encounter those who think you want the same sex for nonplatonic reasons. But I would rather that than list myself as seeking another man for a friend.
If you truly are here just for the forums and do not want to be contacted by anyone, then all you do it set your mail restriction in a way that basically prevents anyone from contacting you.
Example:
Mail Settings
(To message
xxxxxxxx
you MUST meet the following criteria.)
Older than: 99
Easily done, that is if someone
really
wants to keep anyone from contacting them.

I really don't think his quitting had anything to do with so-called "left wing hatred".
Agree, and so does Dobbs.
Discussing his departure from CNN, Dobbs repeated the talking point that he and CNN are heading in different directions, citing CNN/US President Jon Klein's decision to practice "middle of the road journalism" instead of Dobbs' "advocacy journalism."
Jon Stewart had him on last night, very good interview. (there are 4 parts)

Where to get fitted for running sneakers...?
Posted:

I'm pretty certain the ones I wear now aren't protecting my body very well, so I've quit running until I have the proper equipment.
If you need running shoes to protect youself, then there is a good chance you are doing it wrong.
And Instead of just guessing at what sneakers would be best for me to go running in, I was thinking about going to****s to get fitted. I was just wondering if you guys know whether or not that would be a good place to go, or if you have better suggestions?
A google search and a visit to some local running forums would answer that for you.
The last thing I want is to have to get knee or hip surgery some day.
Being someone that has had a handful of knee surgeries, I could think of things that are allot worse that you could go through.
Best thing you can do is enroll in a running class, learn technique and at the same time get fitted properly.

Obama Administration lies about jobs created or saved.
Posted:

Obama's approval polls took the biggest slide of any other president's first term in around 50 years in just his first 7 or 8 months.
Approval Ratings
Highest - Lowest
Obama - 69% - 50%
Bush GW - 90% - 25%
Bush GHW 89% - 29%
He has a long way to go to beat the slide of the Bush's.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_approval_rating
The approval polls and the big slide are a good indicator that people are getting more skeptical about what is coming out the Obama WH and many of the elected Democrats. The inability of Obama, Obama’s administration and many of the elected Democrats to be able to present a truthful face is really hurting them.
I would say it has less to do with people being more skeptical and more to do with pundits having nothing else to talk about.
One of the primary reasons Obama got voted in was that everyone was getting tired of the untruths/lies of the Bush WH. Many, including me, were just counting the days until the Bush administration would be over.
The primary reason why he won the election was because he received more votes, anything beyond that is complete speculation.
Obama made many promises about truth and transparency, but Obama seems to have very soon forgotten them.
key word here "seems"
As it may seem to you, it is clear to many other that it is not the case.
These lies about the stimulus are is only part of all the untruths that have been coming forth from the Obama administration. Wonder how many more of the stimulus statistics are screwed up or will be screwed up.
Anyone else find it ironic that Fox news is outraged at someone not telling the truth?

Obama Warns About Double Dip Recession
Posted:
11/19/2009 1:34:57 PM
So with a 3.5% GDP we now have 11% unemployment, seems kind of weird. Economy is growing but the jobs are not.
It is not kind of weird for those that understand how the economy works.
The economy will always grow faster than jobs.
Around 50% of that was due to the Clunkers program and then there is the growth in housing due to government rebates, and then there is the government.
Wrong.
Analysts were forecasting a 3.0 pct annual GDP growth rate, but the basic story in the economy was what they had predicted, with growth in consumer spending and exports overcoming the drag from housing...
...The housing contraction subtracted more than a point from Q3 growth as residential investment fell 20.1 pct. Business construction was down to a 12.3 pct, less than half its Q2 rate, but still providing a counterweight to housing.
http://www.forbes.com/feeds/afx/2007/10/31/afx4283204.html
3.5 % probably be good numbers if the government had not been pumping money into most of the areas such as cars and housing.
So there really is a no win situations for you is there.
Government helps economy grow, and in your world that is bad because they helped.
So you would only have been happy if they had not done anything and the economy would have just started growing on its own.

Obama's latest approval ratings.
Posted:
11/19/2009 6:04:49 AM
Let me fix that for ya.
This month, just over two in five
of the 2303 Americans surveyed
(43%) give the president positive ratings on the job he is doing while 57% give him negative ratings. This is down from last month when 45% gave President Obama positive ratings and 55% gave him negative marks and it continues the steady downward trend that has been happening since June.
When are people going to stop thinking that a couple thousand people in any way represent the views of a ~160,000,000 voters.
Do you really believe that 2000 people could be an accurate representation of what the voting population of American believes?
Are you really that gullible?
From Harris Poll.
http://www.harrisinteractive.com/harris_poll/pubs/Harris_Poll_2009_11_16.pdf
Methodology
This Harris Poll was conducted online within the United States November 2 and 11, 2009 among 2,303 adults (aged 18 and over). Figures for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, region and household income were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population.
Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents’ propensity to be online.
All sample surveys and polls, whether or not they use probability sampling, are subject to multiple sources of error which are most often not possible to quantify or estimate, including sampling error, coverage error, error associated with nonresponse, error associated with question wording and response options, and post-survey weighting and adjustments. Therefore, Harris Interactive avoids the words “margin of error” as they are misleading. All that can be calculated are different possible sampling errors with different probabilities for pure, unweighted, random samples with 100% response rates. These are only theoretical because no published polls come close to this ideal.
Respondents for this survey were selected from among those who have agreed to participate in Harris Interactive surveys.
The data have been weighted to reflect the composition of the adult population.
Because the sample is based on those who agreed to participate in the Harris Interactive panel, no estimates of theoretical sampling error can be calculated.
They pre-select the responders based on political affiliation.

The key to rock solid ankles?
Posted:

I've been a runner/weightlifter off and on for a little while though. The problem with running is I tend to sprain an ankle or something and loose the desire to keep going. Anyone know the key to building ankle flexibility so this doesn't happen again? (has happened twice).
There is one other thing I forgot.
Some of the solution could be in the shoes / footbeds.
Properly fitted shoes and footbeds that compliment your running style, can make a large difference.

She doesn't know what kind pain to expect. Having had breast reduction surgery I have a bit of an idea. She and I will both be seeing the same internist we both have, but we would love to hear about first hand information.
Let her know the only pain she will feel is the pain that she feels.
Anything beyond that is impossible to describe, as there is no way to tell someone how much pain they should expect.
You ask 10 different people and you will get 10 different answers.
...excess skin...

I find it funny....The obama administration LIES about jobs created and even sends money to NON EXISTENT congressional districts...has spent more money than all previous admins combined...Is going to be raising taxes on everyone..yes ..everyone..remember sin tax..and every other tax he can get raised..and yet he is still loved by the leftymanics...
I find it funny when people rant about hypothetical things presented in a dooms day scenario.
Some posters are right..a very good portion of this nation..are IDIOTS AND THEY FOLLOW LIKE SHEEP!
Pot Meet Kettle.
In 2010 the Congress will be back in more sane hands as the extreme left will be gone. In 2012...the one term of the messiah will be over and we can get a democrat/Republican/Independent conservative in the white house. The next 3 years are going to sink our future generations into a debt they can not pay.
To late, the past administration already took care of that.
