Women what do you use to attract?
Posted:
9/13/2009 5:39:30 PM
Like the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't have a good pic, then get one. That is what gets your foot in the door.
I do not like profiles that just tell me what someone does not want. And, I really dislike sarcasm and cynicism in profiles. If someone can't write a couple of paragraphs without being sarcastic or jaded, then they are just too world weary for me. I mean, we all like the snappy come-back and witty conversation, but negative sarcasm is not attractive.
I personally like to read what a guy likes to do. It goes a long way in showing me if we are perhaps compatible. \
Good luck to you!

How many messages before you ask for face to face?
Posted:

Seems I am the out one out here, but I would like to message/email, etc. for a couple of weeks before I set up a meet. I have no desire to go and meet someone I don't even feel like I know.

My theory on why people call other people sluts
Posted:
6/21/2009 12:00:23 AM
How could a halfway well-adjusted woman be jealous of a slut? A promiscuous woman who has sex with many but usually sleeps alone. IS there a lonlier life? And sluts have very few girlfriends, unless it is other sluts. And, seeing how attracting new lovers is a constant aim, you could not trust your slut friends to not be hitting on your present man. And I am to be jealous of That? Not even Close! Sympathy for? Absolutely!

My girlfriend told me the best sex she's ever had was with a past lover
Posted:
6/20/2009 11:32:50 PM
Having said the above , I do feel a need to express this. I am rather modest about my body. The man that I enjoyed having sex with more than any other lover made me "comfortable". He said, no one was in the bedroom posing for playboy or playgirl. We are real people with real bodies and are not air brushed. Never be shy or ashamed of your body. God created you. Did he make a mistake? And somehow, that just made me so comfortable that I could truly relax and enjoy. What a man! But, I would never have told a husband or another boyfriend about him. What an ego smasher! Can just see that little thing curl up and go into hiding.

I believe it is well that your feelings have changed about her. Because, you probably did not realize you were going with someone who was so selfish that they would dump on you their woes over losing a better lover (to them) than you are. What a ****! Dump her tomorrow!

Something missing or just that there's no demand for the asian male market?
Posted:

I think the dating scene for Asians is opening up here in America. I am seeing more and more commercials with Asians in them. You just cannot forget that our Vietnam Vets are the Fathers and the Grandfathers out there. It was not a pretty war. But then, no war is a pretty war. I just think it has taken as long as it has taken for old feelings to pass away and a new beginning to start. Good luck to you!!

WHATS YOUR TAKE ON THIS????
Posted:

I guess for me, it is kind of like window shopping while chatting with friends. If I see someone that really attracts me, I will write them and see if I like what they say. But, otherwise, the forums are fun and who knows, I might learn something. And I can always get a good argument started if I try. So, that means I can also get rid of my bad moods, LOL!

Thank you so much, Pazoozoo! We do not live in Harris County, but I will check into this Assistant Ministries program.
Texas is 49th in the U.S. in assistance programs and help for those who need it. That is a direct result of Mr. George Bush's governorship and his protege, Perry (Mr. Good Hair). Being a native Texan myself, and knowing what a rich state we live in, I think this is atrocious!! 49th out of 50!! Unbelieveable. Thanks again, Mr. Bush!

Does a man with a complicated personality threaten a woman's ego?

Being a member of Mensa myself, I have read and re-read this post and still cannot figure out what the connection is between your "complicated personality" and an woman's ego. Now, there could definately be a connection between "your" ego and a woman's ego. Obviously, you find yourself very unique. And, I hate to tell you this, but we are all unique, and none of us are unique. Get my drift? You have many interests. Maybe that is what you mean by complicated. Like I said, I just ain't getting it.

What do women over 50 find desirable and undesirable in a man's profile?
Posted:
6/20/2009 8:16:28 AM
I deeply appreciate a man who "really" likes women. It shows through like a beacon in the night. Two examples. One of which was a lover and one who was not.
The one who was not was a fairly young college graduate at work. He was about 28. He was unfailingly gracious and flirtacious to all women. He said he was raised with 5 sisters and just liked women. I saw him hold the door open for a 5 year old girl, just like she was a 20 year old beauty. It flattered her tremendously. I was an old 44 or something, LOL, and he suggested we get naked, paint our bodies with spray paint and run down the beach in the wind. I was SOOOOO tempted. He just loved women, whatever age, size etc. And women loved him for it.
The second was a lover of mine. And about 50 other women (probably) over the years. He was a womanizer. But, he loved women. Flattered them all. 10 to 80! And they all loved him. Just not a good marriage prospect. If he wasn't pursuing, he was being pursued. What a headache. But, wow, what a lover! I am happy for those memories!

The two oldest children are grown and out of the house. The youngest, 9, has a father who deemed Wyoming to be a better place to lose himself. Gina, my daughter, is afraid to press to hard for child support as he has said he will just take the boy if he has to pay. And, of course, we don't want to lose him. And the father May just win in court. She is very incapacitated. And I am 61. Maybe the courts would award him custody. That would just be too much to bear. So, let sleeping dogs lie (umm, that doesn't look right, LOL). We do what we have to. Thank you for asking.

Are Caucasians decendents of Arabs ?
Posted:

Kind of off the subject, but the Book of Mormon proposes that South America was populated by peoples that crossed the south Atlantic and landed in South America and migrated northward. A different view for the American Indian. I find this as feasible as migrating across the straits from Russia. Or, perhaps, both ways were used. THough these peoples would not be considered Caucasion, it is another way to populate the world.

My daughter is 38 and developed severe neuropathy about 4 years ago. She is paralyzed in the arms and the legs. She was a stay at home Mom with 3 kids. Now, she lives with me and receives a whopping $343 for her and her son (9) from Social Security Disability. And $121 from SSI. That really goes a long way towards their support. So, I support them and raise her son. And that is all the assistance we get. You go, George Bush! Thanks for the mercy and compassion for those less fortunate than yourself. What a great country you have made!

I love what Ismene2 said
Aside from the hypocrisy, which I do find in spades among the right: perfect examples--how they believe so strongly in "family values," then are always getting caught with whores or even worse. Or how they believe if the sanctity of human life, except when it comes to waging war at the drop of a hat, or executing black teenagers, etc. Screaming for the death penalty every chance they get. But, ASIDE from those minor infractions, what I really dislike about the right is how deeply mean spirited they are. Deeply.
That is exactly the words that are used in my family's homes. "mean spirited" describes the Republican party perfectly. 'So you are homeless, a double amputee from Iraq, get your a** out there and stand on a sreet corner (or sit in your wheelchair) and panhandle. We are tired of supporting your lazy butt'. etc. etc. 'So your husband died in a construction accident and you have 4 children. Get your lazy butt out there and go to work at MacDonalds. Let the oldest (9) take care of the others because We are not going to pay for your child care'. Over and over and over they show their meanness, their lack of compassion, and they greediness. And Sarah Palin leads the pack. Let her take her blows like the rest of us.
I know that sounds petty, but I am so tired of conservative greediness and lack of mercy and compassion that I can only hope it will be a VERY long 8 years for them.

Blue eyes...

I would think it was the lack of need of Melanin in the body. As we progressed northward out of Africa, the body did not need as much melanin (the source of pigmentation in the skin; protects you from the sun). As we produce less melanin, our skin color and eye color became paler. Freckles are also a result of melanin produced to protect very pale skin from too much of the sun's rays.

You know, there was a time in this country, and not too long ago, that if you publicly
disrespected and demeaned a young woman for a cheap laugh, you would most likely end up beaten to a pulp or worse. There was a line that people simply didnt cross.
Politics aside, I know that if she were my daughter, nothing, I mean nothing would stop me from shoving his teeth down his throat, famous rich guy or not.
You know, if her reply had not sounded like a politicians rhetoric for Vote For Me, I might even have taken her seriously for the first time. This woman is a joke. I think she is a perfect representation of what the Republican party has become.

BadDaddy,
Yo seem a little insufferably self-righteous! If a guy had a penal implant, I surely would not expect him to tell me right off the bat. So, when IS a good time? After 1 date, 2 dates, 3 dates, sex, a year, when? And I really don't believe I would care if he told me or not. He would be doing it for the opposite sex, which is me, and I think that would be a good thing. Same about breast implants.

Filling that empty void
Posted:
9/19/2008 3:59:40 AM
I don't know that I consider a journey into self as being spiritual. A search into all life and into the Creator leads to an expansion of the spiritual self. A search into self expands self. Does that make sense?
Not that searching for your authentic self is a bad thing. I think all of us are like the proverbial onion, and must be stripped of our many layers of illusions and delusions to reach our inner self. And to start out anew and fresh. And this is a good thing.
But, to search into our relationship with Creator and the world is another thing. And is a thing that is filled with much discovery of what we can attain in the spiritual realm. I hope you are looking into this side of it also. Try Kundalini Yoga. It is very self expanding, and is very spiritually expanding. I congratulate you on searching for the spiritual, as opposed to the physical, for your growth.

What do you think there is about yourself that says "victim"? Have you read "Women Who Love to Much". In many of us, our "picker" is broken and we send out the wrong message., Perhaps you are doing that, and perhaps your "picker" IS broken. I suggest you read that book.

Question for anyone presently practicing celibacy...
Posted:
9/13/2008 11:19:30 PM
I have been celibate for years at a time, and the growth in your spiritual existence is incredible. I always go through a withdrawal process from sex, then it will fall to the wayside and not be important for a few months, and then Wham, it is all I can think of. But, that, too, passes and does not return for a long, long, time. And you quit thinking of sex. And that is when your spiritual side grows. When you are no longer concerned with the physical. When you are not thinking of the physical 24/7. Your spiritual self has Time to grow.

Are YOU ready for Hurricane 2008??
Posted:
9/13/2008 1:48:03 AM
This Cat2 is different than any Cat2 I have ever been through or heard of. But then, it is 110 mph, and Cat 3 is 111 mph. But, this hurricane is as big as the state of Texas. And it is moving slow. I live outside Austin, and it should be here in about 45 minutes. That is the outer western edge, not the eye, That just passed over Galveston,. We are over 100 miles inland and the storm is only half way through Galveston and is here at the same time.
Galveston is under water. 20 foot storm surge, 17 foot seawall, that tells the story.
We live in a mobile out in the country, so lots of prayers, and an escape plan, if things get bad. Wind has picked up and gusting to about 35 or so.
The storm has now been coming in for about 10 hours (I think), is more than halfway on land, and is still a Cat2. Sheesh! Carla again! And Carla was a 4.
Anyway, I am ready for the rain. Love rain! The wind, well, guess I will have to take that, too. Will report in tomorrow! Prayers for all. Be safe!

The Earth is Our Mother
Posted:
9/12/2008 3:01:40 PM
From Wikipedia, the following:
[edit] Hislop's goddess hypothesis
Protestant minister Alexander Hislop in The Two Babylons (1853)[9] wrote that Semiramis as an actual person in ancient Mesopotamia who single-handedly invented polytheism and, with it, goddess worship.
Hislop believed that Semiramis is a consort of Nimrod, builder of the Bible's Tower of Babel. (The Bible actually makes no mention of consorts of Nimrod, of Nimrod as the builder of the tower, or of the name Semiramis.)
Semiramis invents polytheism in an effort to corrupt her subjects' original faith in the god of Genesis and deify herself in their eyes.
In support of his hypothesis Hislop mentioned legends of Semiramis being raised by doves. He referred to the writings by the church's Ante Nicene Fathers to suggest that these stories began as propaganda invented and circulated by Semiramis herself so her subjects would ascribe to her the status of virgin birth and view her child as the fulfilment of the "seed" prophecy in Genesis 3:15.
Hislop identified Semiramis's child as the Bible's Tammuz.
He went on to maintain that all divine pairings in world myths and religions, such as Isis/Osiris, Aphrodite/Cupid, Asherah/Orion, Mary/Jesus and others, represent retellings of this original story.
Hislop took literary references to Osiris and Orion as "seed of woman" as evidence in support of his thesis. The legends already existing in his day about Semiramis and Ninus he viewed as distortions of history.
I agree with Wikipedia that this is legend

, but one thing for sure, i will be doing what i want, when i want, and how i want....
Do not be so sure! I left my husband when I was 53 to go out and have adventures and finally have time for me after all the years of taking care family and others. Within 1 year, my daughter became sick with an undiagnosed disease. She is 38. All we know is that it is a neuropathy that is paralyzing her. So, I now take care of her and raise my grandson, age 9. So, things do not always turn out the way we see, but they do turn out the way they are supposed to.

The Earth is Our Mother
Posted:

Btw (IMO) the origin of Isis and these gods is traced directly back to Babylon, where Semiramis and Nimrod tried to rule the world and place all men under their own religion following them-not the Creator-God YHWH, and were stopped as they were building the massive tower of Babel, which angered YHWH.
Candyman, you speak of this Semiramis and Nimrod and the CreatorGod in the same sentence, Are you suggesting that all are legendary, as are Semiramis and Nimrod(who by the way, is never mentioned in the bible us, according to sources).
How many Christians do you know that do not speak of God as a Gender; i.e. Father. So, why does it gall you so much to speak of the earth as Mother, she that nurtures. I believe that this return by New Agers and Wiccans and many others to the old ways is simply an effort to make us aware of the Earth, and her care for us and our need to care fo her. . All things come from something else. To look back at the Christian Bible, was not Noah instructed to take each of the species, two by two. Do not the seeds of the ancestor trees produce the new trees. From the ashes of the dead, new life is born. This is not simply literal. Our ancestors came before us, and in many instances were wiser than we are. They did not try to destroy that which sustained them. They were not willing to strip mine and drill for oil until the earth core was empty,. We are the greedy generation. We are the ones who do not wish to look at consequences, Just as Gov. Palin is simply greedy for her state. It has nothing to do with foreign oil to her. It has to do with the wealth of Alaska, and I will argue with anyone who says different. Because you are saying she is looking at the "big picture" and being wise. If she were looking at the "big picture", she would see where this oil siphoning would lead in the end. Already we have world warming. The polar bears are seeking further and further south for their food, for the seals have abandoned the ice shelfs. Because the ice shelfs are melting. Great! Let's put some refiniries in the Artic Circle. I am sure they will cool things off.
I am getting off-subject. I just don't care for the "pick and choose" nature of your deductions, Mother of Harlots, indeed. And, where is it you think the Goddess Gaia comes from. The serpent in the garden of Eden? Forgive my sarcasm.

The Earth is Our Mother

Ravenstar66, I love what you had to contribute. I agree. Thank you!
Candyman2000,
In can understand the fear that the word "Mother" puts into those of organized religion, which is mainly patriarchal in today's society. "Mother" puts us in mind of our biological parents, that share in our creation. And, even though, Creator and Mother Eath, herself were combined to create us, we seem to be most hesitant to afford her any active part in the creation process. For us to be a Christian nation who has done all that it can to make sure that the power remains patriarchal, the old ways do survive, with a Mother and a Father being active in the creation process. Many societies used to be matriarchal. And will be again. We will see then if the Father image remains singular and almighty. I do not have a problem with God, the Creator. Nor am I a big Goddess person. But, if some wish to refer to the Earth as Goddess Gaia, I can understand their desire. This omnipresent Male figure of a God the Father is very presumptuous and religious based.
As far as the oil in Alaska, we do not need this oil. There are alternative resources to oil. This is what we must be spending our money on, rather than continuing to drain Mother Earth until she is nothing but a shell. If it were not for Big Oil ruling this country, an alternative energy source would already be available. I am quite sure it has been found. But, as long as the Round Table exists and those in power remain in power, we will continue to drain and pollute Mother Earth. Gov. Palin is just greedy. That is the whole of it. She wants her state to be rich, and forget the consequences,.
As Mother Earth thrives and is healthy, so we thrive and are healthy. Her lakes, rivers, and oceans must continue to abide with us for us to exist at all. All of your oil is not going to be able to create a man-made viable society. We are Creator based, And Earth is part of the Creation process.

60+ Men Open to Wanting children

I think the question is worded badly, myself. If I say No, do not want children, that means a older man with teenagers with him would not contact me. If I say I do want children, it sounds ridiculous. So, something needs to be made clearer. Many people now days are also taking care of parents, So, do we need a question like......Do you have baggage? Could be children, could be parents, could be siblings., Are you willing to date someone with baggage? Same scenario! But, knowing that some people object to the term "baggage" to describe their children, perhaps that would not be a good idea either.

-GAMES AFTER 45-
Posted:

I think I am wondering what is considered playing a game. If I go out with someone 3 or 4 times, and really really like them, if I don't tell them that I really really like them, is that game playing? Or just going with the flow. If I seek to make you a little jealous (to see if you care enough to get jealous), is that a game?If I dress up to the nines and really try to make myself more attractive for you than I normally am, is that playing games? I mean, I don't like players. Fortunately, I have never been involved with one. So, I don't know how it feels to be played. But, there is the old adage that says all is fair in love and war. Is this still applicable? Do you not hold some cards to your chest or do you blurt out "I love you" a month into the relationship and watch him/her hightail it out of there. I mean, some of this is just using common sense. But to say, I dress and act, in a relationship, exactly as I do when I am not, just is not the truth. So, are we misleading and is misleading a game?

Adoration

I love the word "adore" to describe a feeling of great affection. I use to say I adored my ex, long before I said I loved him. But, I did adore him. He was everything I wanted him to be.

What constitutes a bad lover?

Does you for 3 minutes, then is ready for his turn that takes about 30 minutes. Selfishness, above all, is the ruination of a lover. You must enjoy the giving as much as the recceiving to be a good lover.

Is sex expected?

These answers are a lot nicer than they usually are. Usually, the word is that you are a tease, sex is certainly expected, especially if they did something phenomenal like taking you to dinner, etc. etc. Wonder where those guys are.

You have put up with it too long already. I don't think you can change the path of this relationship. Just my opinion.

If the world was to end on wednesday, what's the one thing you would like to do

I would take my kids and grandkids to the zoo and have us all blindfolded and feel the fur of a Siberian tiger that is put under for teeth cleaning or something. And then have them rub their fingers along the musculature and simply revel in the magnificence of God's Creation. (Kind of like in Red Dragon). I think it would bring us peace.
