If you have any doubts, listen to them! I didn't listen to my doubts and married someone who caused me so much grief and heartache. She bailed out more than two years ago after only two years and I have felt my life has been ruined. Betrayal is a very, very bitter pill to swallow. It is not worth the gamble of your future happiness with someone who is not trustworthy.

Susan, that is why I specified genuine remorse. I didn't say forgiveness would be easy, but forgiveness is possible. But I really had married couples in mind.

You have my sympathy. I don’t understand how anyone can be so selfish and irresponsible, especially when children are involved. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about your wife, but now is the time to concentrate on yourself and your children. Keep yourself occupied and be the best father you can be. Your children need you more than ever. Under the circumstances, it is best to minimize your contact with your wife. As you have discovered, having contact with her now only makes you feel worse. She obviously has no remorse and she will only push your emotional buttons.

I went through a similar experience two years ago, except I do not have children. I pleaded with her to work things out, but her mind was made up and there was no changing it. I thought she would appreciate my kindness and thoughtfulness to her after she left, but instead she only got colder to me. Your wife sounds just as callous.

I hope your wife comes to her senses, but you have to live your life as if she won’t return. Healing from this pain will not happen overnight. The roller-coaster emotions are inevitable, including sorrow, anger and feelings of worthlessness. I went through that too. But, over the last two years, my faith and relationship with God has grown. If not for that, I don’t know what I have done. Don’t rush anything and foster stronger bonds with your family and friends. I wish you the best of luck.

I wife kick me out 1 week after our 10 year anniversary (2005). Her best friend's Husband move in. He is now divorce. My wife is divorcing me. Since then she has moved couple times, had numberous boyfriends. We are at the last stage of the divorce process, the appeal hearing. I am fighting for 50% custody of my daughter. Now she is thinking about restore the marriage 1 week before the trial. I told her I do forgive her and take her back if she only gives 100%. My daughter and I (mostly her) started a ministry last year. Pretty amazing for a 10 year girl. I do believe and follow God. My wife, my daughter, and I are christians. She tried to be friends 6 montths ago to try to soften me up to sign the divorce papers which I did because I did not agree to the visitation. Should I take my wife back if she stops the divorce, or start dating after the divorce is over. I will truely read you responses. Thank you.


The Christian thing to do is to forgive and save the marriage. I do agree that she must commit 100% to work things out.
