Single parents with mental health issues - advice please

You HAVE to help yourself, for your kids. You are all they have. All that they are, all that they will be, they will learn and emulate from you. Let them be your strength, your motivation, your reason for getting out of bed every day. It's not always going to be easy; infact, many days will be outright aweful, until you get a handle on your depression. Start with your strength- you r kids. If you can't do it for you, do it for them. You will see positive change in your life with every little baby step. And your kids will see a positive change too. Try a hypno-therapist, they can help change your thinking from a depressive state to a more positive, "I can do this" state. good luck :) feel free to email if you like. YOU CAN BEAT THIS

If kids come first, are you willing to come second?

well said lynsteph. Each relationship is individualized. yes, my kids come first, they always will. but I will not neglect my relationship or put my partner last to everything else. My last relationship ended more or less because I didn't come first. ( or second, third or even 4th) And he didn't even HAVE kids. I came last, after a video game, his truck, himself. I walked. couldn't be happier.
