GoneSailing -- I highly recommend that you go to www.wellspouse.org and have a look around. It is extraordinarily difficult for someone who has not been in a well-spouse/ill spouse relationship to understand what you have and are going though. The folks there have all "been there done that got the t-shirt" and will be very welcoming and sympathetic to your particular issues.

Can't speak for anyone else here. All I can say is that my wife is disabled. Last time we were able to be intimate was sometime in 1998. Been a long dry spell.

You are at a bar/coffee shop/club/bookstore, etc and a girl comes up to you unexpectedly, a total stranger, and asks you "Say, do you want to be my temporary lover?" What kind of response would you have? Don't think about it, tell me right now what you are thinking. I'm thinking "Am I on Candid Camera?" If you're reasonably attractive (and I find a wide variety of facial/body types to be attractive so don't make assumptions), I might go for it. Shall we get tested at the clinic?

ok, i have a question and it may sound stupid but this is getting to me. how do you know if a guy is really telling the truth, if he wants a relationship or if he just wants sex? some guys tell you they're looking for a relationship and then come to find out all they want is sex. is there some way to see that up front rather than being used? why dont guys just come out and say yea im lookin for sex and thats all, be a heck of a lot easier. I've said exactly that in my profile. So far no takers. So much for the honest approach, yes?

I think its sad myself. I am married, legally separated now and i would NEVER in a million years have cheated on my hubby. If she isn't happy then its time to move on to something new. Truly, I hope you always keep your health and sex drive, but I do hope you also come to know what it's like for other people when one of the spouses is too ill for that. In years past, those who were gravely ill died. It was traumatic for the survivor, no doubt (happened to my father, in fact), but the death of the spouse freed the survivor to move on. Now many times the ill spouse "lives" in a fashion, but is never whole again. Society, many posters here, and you in particular don't realize what that means for the well spouse. I say again -- I do not wish to leave my spouse, but after years and years alone because of her health issues, I've decided that I need intimacy again, and I'm seeking it. Sorry if that offends anyone, but try living this way for years on end before commenting or condemning.

Well, I don't know about the "she must be a whore' angle. I can say I prefer unpierced -- makes it easier to nibble/suckle certain body parts that would otherwise be more difficult to get to due to the jewelry. But that's just me.

I don't know what the answer is, but I'll tell you this. All you judgmental folks out there might want to back off. There is such a thing as karma, whether you want to believe it or not. Chances are you'll be sitting where I am if a few short years. Sad but true. My wife's disabled and in chronic pain. We've been in a sexless marriage for a long, long time. Sorry, but I need to feel physical intimacy again, which is why I'm here. I have no desire to leave her, and in a perfect world I wouldn't dream of cheating on her, but this isn't a perfect world. Yes, I married "For sickness and in health", but not sickness every day for 30+ years.

Speaking for myself only, yes, I'm here searching for sex. Reality: My wife is disabled and in severe pain at all times. We've had a sexless marriage for a long time now because of that. I do not want to leave, and do love her, but honestly, I need to touch and be touched again in an intimate way by a person of the opposite sex. I'm not looking for a hooker, and I would care to put some emotional commitment into a discreet relationship, but I'm not willing to leave my wife. Discuss.

If it's me, I want to be alone to think my way through the situation at hand. I don't want to share my feelings -- if I'm stressed I'm likely also pretty pissed already, and someone constantly asking what's wrong and to describe whats going on in my head only makes matters worse. When I figure out a workable solution, I'll reemerge.

I don't get it, why is it some men flat out refuse to give them? Or if they do it's a lukewarm half hearted attempt which is usually along the lines of rub rub, okay sex now? I can't answer for all guys, but I've always loved giving full-body massages. I think where it gets old is if the guy tries to give the woman pleasure and then feels that there's no reciprocity. It's not necessarily one-for-one -- massage=bj or whatever, but if, over time, things are grossly uneven, the guy loses interest. I know I do.

Is this so terrible?! Does it really make me or anyone else a lesser person because they NEED to have sex and they do not have a significant other?! It makes you human. My wife is disabled, and I've been celibate for over 9 years now because of that. That's why I'm here looking -- because I'm human and would like to touch and be touched intimately again. If you're not making promises you have no intention of keeping, and you and the other person are consenting adults, I don't see the problem.
