To me, it would depend on the quality of the relationship between the mother and the kids. If they were respectful and caring towards each other and it was a healthy relationship, then I wouldn't have an issue with dating a women with several kids. If it was an unhealthy and disrespectful relationship within the family, I wouldn't even consider it at all. I've been down that road of dating a single mother with one teenage son who were and still are disrespectful towards each other. It is the worst relationship I've ever seen between a mother and a son...and of course they treated me the same way.

The young kid stole his mothers car again this past weekend and yes he was caught by his mother. She was extremely frustrated by what he did. She has put up with so much crap from him in just the 2 years that I've known both of them. All she is going to do for punishment is ground him for a short period of time and take him to a therapist who will probably just put him on some kind of meds. He has caused nothing but trouble since I've known him and from my perspective he's nothing but a troublemaker and a bully...I told her that if he was my son I'd have him arrested for stealing her car. I personally think that a little time locked up in juvenile hall would be a very good form of 'therapy' for him. I don't see anything wrong with a tough-love approach to discipline towards a young teenager who is constantly getting in trouble. Are there any parents here who have actually had their teenage child arrested for behavior such as this? I would really like to get other opinions regarding discipline towards troublemaking teenagers.

I've been down this very road with a former SO. It was the most difficult and emotionally draining relationship I've ever been in. She couldn't express her feelings or show any affection what so ever...completely emotionally closed person. There was absolutely no substance to hold the relationship together. I would have never invested my time If I would have know this about her when we first met. I truly feel sorry for what she is going through...but in fairness, she shouldn't even think about letting anyone into her life in her condition. She needs therapy; not to be in any kind of a relationship.

I'm sure there are many decent guys out there looking to meet the right woman...unfortunately the pickings are extremely thin for the type of 'lady' that they're interested in. Women nowadays seem to be more 'masculine' with their femininity and their personalities. I know I have no interest at all to date women who exhibit the 'bthy', disrespectful, foul-mouth, I’ll kick your a** type attitude...it seems that the days of knowing or meeting a female that truly is a kind, considerate and respectful person are long gone.
