XP home introduced this godawful thing called 'simple file sharing'. It can be disabled in XP Pro but not home. I think it's just intentional crippling of something that worked perfectly in Win2K, but that's just me... Try typing //computername (computername being your XP PC's name) into your run box in Vista. If there is a run box. Windows-key+R if not. If you have shared resources on the XP pc, they will show up.
