One thing for sure, I like our coach and GM. I am confident we have competent management now that will not allow the MSLE board interfere in hockey decisions. That simple fact alone as made us better and put us on the right path. I totally agree with you Always smiling! good to see you and other Leaf fans that know me here :) Wow that sure was some exciting pre-season eh? Sure gives some optimism for the regular season! Burke is well known for acquiring players that never back down from a fight and whos job it is to protect the skilled players! The additions of Bochemin, Komisarek and Orr to name a few will defintely help show the other teams that you dont mess around with the Leafs!! Kadri had an impressive pre season and I am glad Burke sent him back to London to bulk up and develop his skills so that he will be ready for the NHL next year! The monster Gustuvson is already a fan favorite and I think will give Toskala some competition for goaltending. Too bad they wont put the monster between the pipes for opening night! Toskala needs to step up his game and prove he can be the #1 goalie in Toronto or they should trade him as fast as they can! I really hope its worth the wait for Kessels return and that he has a great season! He can bury the puck in the back of the net and I am optimistic that he will be a key up front! I think Kessel and Toskala are the keys this year! If they both do well that I think we are back in the playoffs for sure! We are also doing better at shotouts so that will be another key factor1 We must do well to get that extra point as that will make the difference to get in the post season! 2 more sleeps Leaf fans! Are you ready for another exciting Leafs season or what???!! GO LEAFS GOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Well I grew a beard for the hockey playoffs and one of the rules (from what Ive heard lol) is that you don't trim it and for a while I didn't but it got annoying so I gave in and trimmed it lol. Some of the ladies liked it on me, some suggested I have a goatee and then others told me to shave it all off A couple weeks ago I got rid of the full beard but kept the goatee you see now. I wouldn't dare go on a date or a POf party with my beard untrimmed as most of the ladies like a man who can groom himself properly. Id be willing to shave my goatee off or grow back my beard if the person I was in a relationship with requested it. Keeping the goatee for now though I like it

Thursday nights have definitely been my favorite as its a nice change from the blahs of the week! the dance floor is always packed shaking our asses to the beats of our beautiful DJ Ego and she will play just about whatever song you want to hear! The people are very friendly and easy to talk to! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask :) Like Gomez said you need to make the effort to talk to people. I can understand how some of you may be shy to get your feet wet "in the pond" but just be yourself and everything will be fine :) the first time some of you may be nervous but get talking to some people and after coming a few times you will have expanded your circle of friends. Just take it one step at a time. If you just have made one friend tonight then thats a great start :) See you all tonight!

What I have noticed for me is that there is a fair number of ladies in the states that like me or I like them lol but due to the distance I hold back on trying to pursue anything more than an online friendship. If I happen to be traveling to their area for sure I will meet up with them if possible. The only thing that would make it possible is if they were seriously considering moving up to Canada but that of course is easier said then done. If they had kids it would be more complicated than if they had no children. I cant see myself moving down to the states unless I was guranteed similar health coverage to ohip.

Makes me wonder if there are people out there that utilize the search function on used or new car sites and dating sites in the same way. On the auto sites some of them allow you to be very specific on the interior and exterior features you want for your "dream car" sometimes you don't get the type of car that was advertised on the site. In the same way I am not sure if being very specific on the type of fishie your looking for on a dating site would be 100% trustworthy. You could try to narrow down the search to the specific type of fishie that turns you on, go on a date with them and to be disappointed as they werent the person you had hoped to meet. The fishie may have a lot of the features you like but there are some things about them that didn't appeal to you. So I guess we all have to be open to the types of people we will date. On the other hand some people know exactly what they want, reel it in and it works out just fine and thats great! We all have preferences but at the same time should keep an open mind.

As a DJ myself I appreciate all types of music but if my audience was mainly into rock I could play that for my whole set! Love the modern rock and discovering more the great classic rock bands! Rock still lives in the T Dot Jeff Healy one of the best known spots for classic rock fans! I think its great to have a game like Rock Band and Guitar hero out there as my 13 yr old neice likes classic rock more now lol

Well another season has come and gone for the Leafs :( 4th year in a row to miss the playoffs but we finished off the season on a great note by beating the Sens! Its going to be an interesting summer and draft! Will Kubina and or Kaberle be gone and will Burke use one of them to move up in the draft? the Leafs will look a lot different for next season thats for sure and the real rebuild begins! I also hope the Leafs will finally get back in the playoffs next year! Burke will defintely put us in the right direction and im excited about the future! Exciting season though the Leafs fought hard and exceeded my expectations so there is optimism for the future! What are your thoughts on the season and the future? Have a great summer Leafs fans and enjoy the playoffs! Go Leafs go!!

Just thought I'd bump this thread up as there is still lots going on in Leafs land! First thing my condolences to the Podubbny family for their loss :( Former Leafs Walt Poddubny passed away over the weekend after collapsing he was just 49 yrs old! RIP Walt. On a brighter note the Leafs are winning as they usually seem to do at the end of the season lol. There hasnt been any pressure on them all season and now that they won't be making the playoffs they can just have fun on the ice and play spoiler to other teams trying to make the playoffs like Gainey and the Habs. Is this the end of Gainey in Montreal? Still some games left to play for the Leafs but it will be an interesting draft for the Leafs as I wonder if Burke will use Kaberle as bait to get a higher pick. I am really not buying the fact that a team has to tank in order to improve. The Red Wings have been successful for many years now because they have great scouting. What are your thoughts on the Leafs season and their future? Is this rebuild gonna take a while or will their be playoff hockey in Leaf land sooner than later?

In the case of my sister and I it did take her longer to recover from this which surprised me lol. I guess since I have been through so many surgeries I was better to able to handle it She was off work for about a month I guess and I know she would of gone through with the transplant regardless if she was paid or not for being off work. Im her close brother after all :) I guess if you were in a situation where you could help someone you care about you wouldnt care if you were paid or not for tiem off work. For someone you didn't know at all or very little I guess some would expect a little incentive. I can understand that sure. If I was able to help a total stranger I would do it no matter what knowing that I am helping improve their quality of life :)

pigdog: thanks for posting in this thread as it brought a smile to my face when you told me before about donating your kidney to a friend :) My sister is also a living donor and on January 18,2000 she gave me the greatest gift I have ever received..a kidney! It freed me from 4 and a half hours/3 times a week being hooked up to a kidney dialysis machine which helped to remove toxins from my blood as when they kidney stops working it is unable to do this. I have had some minor problems since then but for about 8 yrs now my health has been stable and I have been able to live life and accomplish my goals! Sure getting time to get off work to donate an organ is a great incentive but really is that your primary motivation to do it? I think you really need to hear my story and others who have received a life saving organ. I have never been so grateful to be healthy again thanks to my wonderful sister :) Perhaps there is someone you know that needs a kidney, liver or bone marrow transplant would you go through with the transplant knowing you will get paid time off work or are you doing it because you want to help "save their life"? What about someone you didn't know? Would you sign a donor card to give them the life saving organs they need? Next January 18th it will be 10 yrs since the transplant and I plan to keep my sisters gift alive for another 10+ !!

Thats it? Thats all? Draft pics? wtf!?! I thought Burke would get some good players to get us in the playoffs! Those aren't my thoughts on todays events but I am sure there are some reading this thread that expected Burke to get some "known" NHL players to help get the Leafs into the playoffs and are really disappointed in what the Leafs GM did today. Let me make something clear to all those that think they know why Burke was hired as GM..the Leafs are in a "rebuilding phase". There is no push for the Leafs to make the playoffs and if they do I would be pleasantly surprised! As Always Smiling said Burke was brought to Toronto to continue where Fletcher left off by cleaning up the mess JFJ made. What happened today is just the tip of the iceberg and maybe it will advance the Leafs closer that expected to another Stanley Cup if the draft pics do work out. I give Burke a pat on the back for his efforts today! I too will miss Moore but I am glad that Burke won't overpay the players..wise move! Well we are deep in goal now Kolzig and Gerber here lol

Well thought Id bump up the thread as well the Leafs won Sunday and as a result the Rangers fired Renny! Thats the difference between the Leafs and other teams as Wilson won't be walking the plank any time soon even if the Leafs loose every game now Burke is his good buddy so I think he will keep Wilson around for a while. Saturday was quite the emotional night and I was clapping with the other fans who welcome back Mats even though he wasn't wearing a Leafs uniform. Once the game got down to business and Sundin ended the game in the shootout I was booing him and the Leafs March 4th is fast approaching it will be interesting to see if the other shoe drops or will Burke wait till the summer? Burke apparently has asked Kaberle for a list of teams he would be willing to play for does that mean Kaberle is on his way out? It may be a busy trade deadline day for the Leafs I hope they make at least one move to get some draft picks!

Wow just two more sleeps till another McGradies meet and greet! For those of you that haven't met baseball fanatic our hostess for this week let me tell you shes a real sweetheart and will make you feel comfortable and introduce you to me and the rest of the group :) We are a laid back group of folks and by the end of the night you will have made a nice group of friends :) Great to have the beautiful DJ Ego back in the house! For those of you that love to get on the dance floor our DJ will keep you dancing for quite a while as she pumps out the great tunes! She has taught me how to keep a party going for when I DJ. Great pics from the other nite! Sparky is a great cheek kisser lol Spanky, Archer, Intrepid and to all my Oshawa peeps it was great to see you again and as always a great time in da 'Shwa! I was sorta in DJ school lol as Sparky was showin me how to DJ a party and just as I expected he rocked the house! I think I will be coming out to more Shwa parties when he DJ's as I know the music will be great and that my Shwa peeps always know how to have a great time! See ya next time!!

I am back no meetings for me this week and I miss my McGradies peeps :( The dance floor will be packed I am sure with DJ Ego's great tunes she always plays!
