Where to go when POF doesn't work?

Maybe pof isnt working because of your expectations? If you sign up to this site hoping to find your fishie the same day or within a few days for most its unrealistic although im sure for some its worked right away! Ive met a lot of great people through pof so for me being a member here has been worth it! I guess pof could also stand for plenty of "friends" :)

For some people ive talked to they have taken a break from pof and come back and it works for them the 2nd time around. When I signed up to this site I really didnt know what i wanted but through the pof experience i know what i dont want here!

go on google or something and type in what your looking for im sure there is a few sites that meet your needs if pof hasnt!

Interest in a Stouffville/Markham area event?

hey all,

Im fairly new to Stouffville and looking to make new friends and hey maybe find my fishie1 Was wondering if there is interest in getting a meet and greet or bigger weekend event going in this area! Ive learned the choices are limited in Stouffville lol but Im sure Markham and other nearby towns has some great places to get together!

Any suggestions for event venues? Post here or send me a message! Would love to get some help getting this idea off the ground!

Age Range

very interesting topic I am 35 so for me 28-45 would be my age range but the maturity factor is always at play I could date a mature 27 yr old and then her 47 yr old aunt that has some growing up to do. Both would be fun rxperiences for sure

Age difference to me isnt an issue but if its more than 10 yrs that is too much so 45 is my cap!

Cancer hitting home?

It sure is for me. My dad passed from cancer back in 1988 at 52. I was only 11 at the time and I had a very limited knowledge of cancer as I thought maybe my dad would get better and come home from the hospital.

My mom was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last April called neuroendocrine and within the last month her health has really changed as she doesnt have the strength to walk and do most things for herself. We have home care come in to do all they can to help as mom would like to be at home as much as possible. Mom tries to do things on her own and today had a fall so it can be stressful having to worry about her safety. The doctor is supposed to come today so wondering if its best for her to be in the hospital and get the care she needs.

Seems like everyday new symptoms are appearing and I feel bad as I want mom to be as comfortable as possible. She isnt in pain but she has this bad cough that is bothering her. Also with her cancer it makes sleeping very difficult as she has naps and not a real sleep.

Mom still has a positive attitude and trying to fight as much as she can!

Any bias if a person doesn't own a car

I dont own a car but i do have ways of getting around using public transit and all and it wouldn't matter if they had a car or not. I wouldnt use them as a taxi service. I would chip in for gas money if I was offered a ride. Road trips are always fun so having a car does help lol unless we can take a trip together by train, bus. etc!

So its not a deal breaker for me!

with my experience I have had more of a preference for women who are older than 34 lol. My last relationship was with someone 8 yrs older. I have found with the younger women I have met that most of them have been too immature. I am open to dating women who are younger than me and if there is good chemistry there I would be willing to take things beyond a friendship. Age is just a number to me but ok ok I do have limits lol under 50.

I do enjoy a good cougar hunt or even better yet them coming after me lol

Richmond Hill & surrounding area get together?

I am new to Richmond Hill and there doesnt seem to be any singles events going on in this area. I have been to Archibalds and London Pub which are great but I am sure there is some other good places here that you know of.

Any suggestions for a meet and greet location? Would you be willing to assist me in planning something?

Any interest in a singles event in Richmond Hill? Let me know!

Would be great to meet the POF members from Richmond Hill and surrounding area!

Another great nite at the Continental Soiree! Thanks to all who came out tonight especially the newbies. I know for some it was your first POF event and kudos to you for joining us! It wasnt so bad now was it?

I am terrible with names so please remind me next time if I forgotten yours lol.

We have such a great group of people that were a great help to me in making this experience even more enjoyable for everyone

Thanks to the staff of the CS for their kind hospitality...loved the wings and fries a very nice touch :)

There is some more great things to come in the near future so stay tuned for more details!

Our next Meet and Greet will take place at the same venue on Wed Sept. 22! See you all then!

lol well it wont be me Djìng on Thursday but let me tell you our DJ is great playing all genres to get you up dancing! He takes requests so don`t be shy in letting him know what you want to hear!

Very well said BG its a very friendly group of people that will help make your 1st experience a pleasurable one. We all can remember our first POF party and most will admit to being nervous. I didn't know what to expect I wasn't even a POF member yet but once I got home from the boat cruise I was on I signed up to this site and have been loving it ever since!

I am taking the TTC out there and I know Kipling Subway station is nearest to the bar..correct me if im wrong.

Wow what a great night! A great turnout and it was a pleasure to meet all that joined us for the first time! I am terrible with names but I am sure I will learn very soon lol.

I live in Thornhill also! There isn't much for events in our area but I know there is talk about having more events in the Thornhill, Markham and Richmond Hill area.

We do have a great time at McGradies in Scarborough and its not that far to get to from Thornhill which is great!

We dont have backgammon and euchre at these events but for those that want to shoot a game of pool there is an area at the bar for that!

I can understand being shy at your first event I was that way too but the more people I met I become more comfortable and made some great friends! Look forward to meeting you!

Just one more sleep to go now! I am looking forward to a great night tomorrow!

I will be around tonight and tomorrow afternoon if you have any last minute questions or concerns!

Just 2 sleeps to go now! I am looking forward to meeting those that are new to this meet and greet and to see my friends that join us every week :)

If your still not too sure about attending on Thursday night I hope you will give this a try as you never know who you may meet at these POF events.

A great opportunity to make new friends and hey you never know your new fishie may be at this event :)

Thanks to all that have signed up so far! If you have friends that arent on this site they are more than welcome to join us on Thursday night!

No theme for this week unless someone has a good idea and we can go with that one lol.

For those of you that are attending for the first time I can understand if you may be nervous but let me assure you this group is very friendly and will make you feel comfortable by introducing you to the regulars that come out!

Driving:
Traveling east or west on the 401, exit at Victoria Park heading south. Just before you get to the second stop lights, at Victoria Park and Ellesmere turn into the parking on the left. Coming north on Victoria Park, the first right after Ellesmere after the Petro Can Gas Station.

TTC:
From Victoria Park Station: Take the Vic Park Bus north and get off at Ellesmare stop. The bus will drop you almost right at the door.
From York Mills station: Take the 95 Don Mills bus to Victoria Park, and walk across the street past the gas station.

Thursdays will quickly become your favorite day of the week after you visit with us! Meet a new friend, you will be glad you came out.

I never made it to the muskoka parties...yet lol I hear they are a blast so I may have to attend one this year! Ive been to some parties at 55 special in Barrie and had a good time there!

Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow and everyone else! I see some more familiar faces signed up cant wait to see ya tomorrow!

VDJ is a great program im sure it will work well for karaoke if that is what will be used.

Looks to be a great party on Saturday night! Havent been out to Missisauga in a while and i always have a good time there! Will be nice to see the peeps I know from this area and other good friends. Some great looking ladies attending cant ait to meet you and the rest of the newbies. Oh yes the Scarborough crowd will be in attendance that night!

Not sure if we met Ms. Charla if not will be nice to meet you :)
