I've planned them for another site and it isn't easy! You got many folks who say they will show up, so you plan accordingly, and you only get about 1/3 of them who actually do.

Permission to Trick or Treat a Halloween Dilemma
Posted:

Forget about what other parents say and let their little degenerates do.
Excuse me but you do not know myself or my child. You do not know what guidelines I have set for my child, therefore you have no basis for calling her a degenerate. She asked for opinions, she got them. Just because you disagree with some of us does not mean that we are not doing a great job raising our children.

At 11 I would allow my daughter to go with a group of 4 or more. With atleast one carrying a cell phone. Like someone else said, buy her a whistle. There will be enough people out that if the girls were taught to scream "Help this is not my parent" it would get the attention needed if help were truely needed.
Talk with other parents, maybe set up a plan, they are to call or text a check in every 30 mins. or something.

What do you consider social drinking??
Posted:
10/28/2008 1:40:22 PM
well seeing that the other option is more than 3 times a week, I'd say if ya drink less than 3 times a week, that's where you'd fall. I'd think averaging once or twice a week, a drink or 2 with dinner or with a friend after work on friday would be considered "social". If your waking up on a work day hung over, I think you've gone beyond "social drinking"

No one but the OP knows her, knows how mature she is, but her older sister whom which she lives with seems to be OK with it. I really do not think the maturity level between a typical 16 yr old female and a 20 yr old male are that different. Esp. since she is already not living at home with her parents. Sorry but it is quite a known fact that boys mature slower...

I see no issues if her family knows you and feels it is OK. They obviously know her and think she can handle it.
When I was 13 I started dating a 17 yr old. (no we were not having sex when i was 13) We dated on and off through highschool. My mother knew him, liked him and didn't see an issue. So when I was 16, he was 20, when I was 19, he was 23 and we got married. We were married for 12 years! When I was 15 I dated a 21 yr old. When my mom met him she thought he was 18/19 so she had no issues with it. When she found out his true age she was unhappy that I lied, but by then she already knew him, liked him, so therefore had no issues with us dating. Yes he could have gotten in serious trouble esp. since he was in the service, but my mom got to know him and was comfortable with it.
If her family is comfortable with it then I see no problems.

if you truely believed you were raped then why the hell are you asking people on the forum if it was rape or not? You are asking because you are doubting it yourself!
you just go with it.
6. Regret it heavily the following morning.
just going with it, then regretting it in the morning IS NOT RAPE! Not saying this guy isn't an @SS, he certainly wasn't a gentleman. Would she still be claiming rape if she hadn't contracted herpes and could on about her life as if nothing happened? Probably not.

how can you tell when you've had good sex ?
Posted:

If you actually have to ask if it is good sex, then sorry dear, but you aint having good sex!
Good sex is when they've tapped my mind long before tapping my body. I don't think there has to be "love" but there certainly needs to be some emotional connection.

He made passes, she said no but stayed and continued to drink, she kept having to tell him no, but SHE STAYED and CONTINUED TO DRINK. He tried kissing her, and SHE STAYED. Then she admitted to just going with it. Last time I checked "Going along with it" is not rape!
That is a case of she got drunk had sex with someone and now regrets it.

sexual tension on a date with out the needed attraction!
Posted:

Hell I admit it! Yes I am a woman, and yes hell I even think about sex quite often. I'll be damned! Sorry but I'm with Rock on this one!
Heck there have been those "urges" that happen after reading some posts on here. Face down in the pillow.......
I for one do not always know early in a date if sex will happen. I usually plan for it to NOT happen. It doesn't mean that I am not sexually aroused by them. Just means I try to control those urges to jump their bones until we know each other better....

Hardest profession to date?
Posted:
10/24/2008 2:09:50 PM
I don't think I avoid any one certain profession, I do however avoid men that can not understand the work of a full time mother. OK well maybe I'd avoid long haul truckers... I would want my man close to home!
I am very attracted to white color, I find men in suits extrememly sexy, BUT I am also drawn to construction workers / contracters because they can understand what I am talking about if I talk about work, and they tend to like that I know what they are talking about. Not to mention I have a thing for nice strong arms. Maybe I need to find myself a good civil engineer. We'd understand each other's work and I bet he'd own a few suits.....

WTF moments...
Posted:

todays WTF moment was when I got an IM saying he wasn't that desparate. My thought was "WTF is he talking about" but I just replied with a ??? then he goes on to say the forum. Again I am thinking WTF?? so I say, "I'm not getting what you are trying to say" After a few more incomplete thoughts & sentences from him I finally figured out he was saying only desparate people post on the forums because were are looking for attention. This coming from a man that has a picture of himself flexing his biceps.... Now to that I say WTF???

Rules about calling.
Posted:
10/24/2008 12:16:07 PM
I LOVE talking on the phone, but will only call if I am asked to call. If we end a conversation with him saying "why don't you give me a call tomorrow" then I will call. Otherwise I wait for them to call. After a date, I will generally wait for them to call. If a man is truly interested in me, he will call. If he doesn't call then he wasn't interested enough. I want a man who truly WANTS me. I don't want to end up being a "good enough, no one else has called" girl. The only thing a woman should chase is her vodka!
I also think woman do not want to appear clingy and needy, not to mention all the dating books for woman say do not call, let them chase you.

The worst I have gotten was after I politely said I wasn't interested in someone. Now I always say thank you if a compliment is given, and often find a concrete reason why they are not my tpye... ie, smoke, too far, etc...
Well after one such reply I got a "Well atleast you have your looks going for you" apparently he thought my personality sucked.

A little POF tale
Posted:
10/23/2008 7:33:33 AM
She was not deceitful at all, her profile stated under 5'. It was up to HIM to read the damn profile. My profile says 5', and it states "a few extra pounds". I get so tired of hearing "wow you really are short". What the hell were they expecting. I've also had the ones that apparently just assumed since I had long blonde hair and a pretty face that I would have the barbie body to match. Again, my profile states a few extra pounds. If a man were to ask me my weight, I'd decline to answer, because like cowboy said, a gentleman would never ask, but I have graciously answered "What dress size or pant size are you". To me that is a more accurately way to know a womans size. I know men have a certain "type" they like, and I certainly wouldn't want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with me.

The six-month dating period before kids are introduced. Some queries.
Posted:
10/23/2008 6:50:26 AM
I try being open and honest with my kids. My kid can handle it and my honesty help their self respect. We all have thing that kids don't have to see, why we have doors in the house, but if a kid can't handel a parents dating, that kid has issues. Some times the apple does not fall far from the tree.
My daughters know I date, and have no issues with it, but they do not meet the men I date. Once I get to know the man well and find him worthy of meeting my precious daughters, then and only then will he be introduced. I have discussed this with my daughters, they know that if I do decide to introduce them to someone I am dating then he must be a great guy. I certainly wouldn't bring a date home and hang out behind closed doors with my daughters home as te above poster implied.
If it takes 6 months for me to know he is worthy, then he obviously isn't the one for me. I think 6 months may be a bit long.

HPV vaccine for boys?
Posted:
10/22/2008 12:05:13 PM
...here in the US i dont know of any government program for vacination
this would be a state by state thing. MANY states have a vaccination program. Most of us with insurance would not be aware of it, but those who pay out of pocket for medical bills would see it if their state had one. Here in Maine last time I knew, vaccines were only $5 each. The state picked up the rest of the cost. Even with this program, this is still one vaccine that my children will not be getting. I think the public is totally misinformed. My pediatrician totally backs me on my decision.

You can count me in the edcuated, non drug user, single mother with a career, not sucking of the state group. I don't mind getting dirty though, so if ya want to take me "muddin" I'm in!

Grammar should not be what English classes are about, unless you are studying it as a second language. I very rarely teach grammar. I teach literature and writing.
I totally disagree... English class is for just that, grammar & writing skills. Literature class is for reading & writing content. Students here have both of these classes.

You shouldn't blame a current SO for anothers faults!
I've had some pretty crappy shit done to me, but I can only hold the person who did it, and myself for allowing it, responsible. I learned from it, and moved on. Unfortunately some scars take longer to heal though. There are still a few things that I find to be a turn off due to past incidents, but it certainly isn't enough to make me a "prude" in the bedroom by any means.

My pet peeve, although it is now considered correct, is the use of the word anxious.
to be anxious requires having anxiety, NOT excitement.
Unless you have a fear of amusement parks you are not anxious to go, you are excited to go.
Having a daughter who suffers severe anxiety, it bothers me to see people use anxious to mean excited. If they only knew what it felt like to become anxious about things on a daily basis.

Didn't break a bed but broke a dining room table once... try explaining to the inlaws how "grandmas table" that we were given when she went into a nursing home got broken. Next morning the tenants underneath us asked if our daughter had fallen out of bed that night.
I used to have my bed lifted on blocks so I could use underneath for storage. Well knocked it off the blocks a few times....

Your Most Romantic Date Ever
Posted:
10/15/2008 5:44:25 AM
I have had a few... but the most recent was a gentleman that took me to the coast and we walked along the ocean on a walking path. We talked and laughed, he would place his hand behind my back as others would pass us, so to support me as I moved over to give them room. Held my hand. It started raining, but we didn't care, we continued to walk and laugh. I absolutely love walking in the rain. Then after returning to his car we stopped at a restaurant and listened to a piano player for a while. Then he took me to a wonderful dinner, and I spent an incredible evening with him.....
then as I've seen all to often.... he never called again...

I also had my share of "leggings" and the mini skirts so short my mom would say "I think that is suppose to be a tube top, not skirt" or "Good thing your not having your period, I'd see your string"

I love wearing my 4" heels. Being the only female in a building full of men, I think they secretly like when I wear my heels too. They often comment on hearing the click click click as I walk across the concrete flooring. Last time I wore my running shoes I got a "You're not dressed up today??" Snow will be here soon, good thing I've added to my heeled boot collection.

You change it to divorced when you are in fact divorced. In many states filing for divorce makes you "legally separated", which for insurances, is often enough, but fact remains, you are still married.

I had one ask me where my town was. He said he could easily look it up but then i wouldn't need to tell him. I thought it was a cute way to get me to reply.
Another asked why we hadn't contacted each other before... I let him know that he had contacted me once, and I responded but he never messaged me again. His answer to that was "Well here I am, so when do we get married" I told him April 1st...

I once had a man that I never once had to tell him what I liked or how I liked it. It was some of the best, most passionate, sex ever. Why? Because he paid attention to my body language, he listened to every sound that escaped my lips. There was no need to actually tell him, "I like this, don't care for that... etc", he read me like a book.
Now to find another man like him....

I always bring a drink to the bedroom with me anyways, so i can easily wash it down. I've been with men where I didn't mind it at all, but then my ex-husband tasted so bad it actually made me puke. He chose to warn me rather than get a lap of vomit... but didn't seem to stop him from asking for me to suck on him.

This thread has me cracking up....
I had 2 children, NATURALLY, and no stitches either time. I've had a man I was dating ask if I had my children by c-section... He wasn't exaclty hung like king kong and he still thought I was tight....
oh and I've been with black men who were "average" they do exist....
