Okay I have tried everything you all have asked...nothing worked..Now I tried to flush the dns as asked to but it keeps saying "the required operation requires elevation" ??? don't know what that means ...at this point I am ready to say screw it and reformat back to XP....I've been told that alot of vista users have this security problem..so I don't know I will try anything asked to fix this...thxs to those who gave suggestions..

Well thxs bill but again I know this is not a virus... I think it may be my windows vista because once I updated the security settings thats when the problems started..Now I know it has to do with my internet options but I have them all set to medium low or low...the only one that is high is restricted sites but in order to change that I have to customize it and I have no idea what any of whats in there means..I'm so confused...:(

Hello fellow POF's, Okay so I have been dealing with this issue for over a week now I have tried EVERYTHING!!!! Now the problem is this My computer is blocking me from viewing certain sites. I don't know how or why but I will try and go to just for example a online karaoke site that I have been on for years and all it will do is say loading and then timed out! Now I can get on these sites if I use a proxy site so I know my comp is blocking something I just don't know what. so I went through the following steps I cleared my cache, temp internet files, did a spy-ware and virus scan. I checked my internet security settings they are set to medium...I have checked my firewall settings and that isn't effecting it. Then a friend said maybe it was my IP address so he helped me change it so it randomized itself with every connection. No luck, I tried using different browser, google chrome, firefox, and 3 versions of IE.. again no luck so I thought it was my internet company. I called them they said they have no control over what sites I frequent and that all they can do is limit my bandwidth which they said they haven't. I have never ever had this problem I am the only one who uses this comp, I have gone to these sites before using this comp I just had my internet hooked up again at home recently and now I am having these issues. Please please help one of these sites I use as a second job so I need to get onto it as soon as I can. I'm at my wits end. some spec's to help you out I have Window's vista Ultimate, AVG spyware and Anti virus, DSL broadband connection. Thanx in advance guys Britt

Been there done that..One of my ex's was manic-depressive/Bi-Polar ..wow what an emotional rollercoaster..I definitly would NOT go there again. I understand it is a problem that most cannot control..and sometimes yes medication can work for them but not always and not everyone. It dragged me down emotionally..physically..I became just as depressed as he was. Nope never again.

Are you going for the skinny girls? If so, that's your problem right there. You've got to seek what you are. It sucks but it's the way it is. Go for a plus-size woman with a similarly big heart and you two should get along swimmingly. I saw this statement and let me enlighten you buddy. I am a big girl..and my bf is average weight..so that statement is straight BS. This is the reason I hate when big people make these pity me threads because then the real Einsteins who know NOTHING about being overweight put their two cents in. Word to the wise people unless you have been there...don't assume you understand or can give any decent advice that could help me or anyone with weightloss, not unless your a doctor, dietitian or a gym instructor. I may be fat but I am no idiot and I would rather weigh 10,000 pounds then show the lack of common sense and stupidity that some people have shown on this thread. OP- Word to the wise don't make pity threads on POF..they get you nowhere.. I do love the pof forums but honestly all its doing is making you look sad and pathetic. Your probably a decent guy but a woman big or small will never see that if your crying about your weight. Obviously your unhappy with it so change it!

I don't believe in 'soul mates' or 'the love of my life'. In this day and age people get bored very quickly, just look at the divorce rate. People who have stayed married for a long time end up as friends, it's just not possible to sustain the kind of love and lust you experience during the first few years of a new relationship. That is not true, I have seen many married couples still act the way they did in the first few years of marriage. Your right that some couples do end up as friends more then a married couple. I have seen that too, Your statement seems almost bitter. I think it is possible as long as both people are willing to keep it going.

I'm glad for you, hope you stay together till the end of times, but that is not the question. The question is, do you really believe there is no one else in the planet as good as (or better) than him ? If you could live forever and date all living 2-3 billions of living men, would he still be the #1 in the list, without any ties on the top ? 'Cause that's what "one and only one right one" means strictly. Yes I can honestly say that..I do believe no one is better then him..and I would'nt need to date every man on the planet to know that!..I think people who go into relationships but yet wonder..is he/he the one?..they are setting themselves for failure. If your with someone and you feel in your mind or heart that, thats the one you should be with then so be it. Why must everyone be so unsatisfied and always question their relationships? maybe thats the root of the problem there. I question nothing..will me and him be together forever? I don't know because I don't know what may happen in the future but everyone needs a little mystery in their lives right. I think if we had a crystal ball that told us who are true one and only spouse would be it takes that mystery effect away. what is romantic about that? People need to stop over annalyzing every thing. Live life and take risks..and just live in the moment!

If you would asked me that same questions 3 years ago I would have told you No..but I guess you really don't know until it actually happens..Till you actually feel like you can wake up next to that person for the rest of your life..

First I want to say I love you Pof'ers...never fail to make me laugh.. I agree with pretty much everyone..alot of valid points made.. I'm starting to believe that we all strive for that commercialized "idea" of what love should be..You know what I mean all those cheesy romance movies..My true beliefs are love is different for everyone..It feels different for everyone..but because media portrays love to be only a certain way..we let love pass us by again and again..I'm probably wrong..maybe even crazy for thinking that but I see it all the time..All I know is dating...intimacy..and love have become far more complicated in the 21st century..I just don't know why it evolved that way..

Well hello My fellow Pof'ers.. Now I really don't need any advice..Just your opinion on this matter..Now I recently have begun dating someone..and we got to talking on this subject and I want to know..Who was it that started all these love and dating rules? Seriously you know the " You can't fall in love with someone at first sight, you have to wait 6 months to a year"? am I the only one who thinks thats ridiculous? I will have them know that My great grand mother told me that she knew the moment she touched my papa's hand that they would be together forever? and they were together until the day they died.. so it existed before..but now there are so many rules.. Or the saying " You HAVE to get married eventually or your relationship is meaningless"...or even the " you got to strive for the Big house..two cars...2.5 children.." ?? Dating in the year 2009 has become so complicated..I almost feel like it's easier to get life insurance or do you taxes then it is to have a relationship? I had a co-worker point out that " that dating scene now with the internet is allot like going to a job interview" that to me is sad..where the hell is the romance in that?.. I want to find this guy/girl who wrote all these new dating rules and kick them in A$$..So Pof'ers what do you think..Am I alone in thinking this?? ~Britt~

Now this I know something about.... I date my ex for 3 years..and in those three years he cheated twice before finally leaving me for another woman..Why I put up with it I will never know..now when he originally left if you asked me would I ever be over it..I would have said no..Now how many months later I can honestly say .. Yes...If it's one thing I have learned it's that keeping all that hurt does you more harm then good..Yes what he did was cruel...yes it was heartless ..and yes it did hurt when it happened..But!...Now that I have the man in my life that I do..I hold no grudges..no harbored feelings..no BAGGAGE!!!.... Everyone says that once your cheated on you never let go of that hurt or the trust issues that follow..maybe I am the exception..or maybe people need to move on ..even forgive..and let go..I did and it allowed true and honest love find me..

OP that statement you made that " People who watch porn expect you to do the things or act like the people in porn"...Um..NO!!! If you educated yourself in pornography history you would know that even the porn stars themselves don't in fact have sex the way they do in films they are ACTORS .....and at home they don't have to worry about camera angles..so please don't sit there and judge people based on something you know very little about..Why do people watch it? Because to some it's entertainment..Some people get a good laugh out of it...and some people learn new tricks and tips in the bedroom..not everyone who watches porn is "addicted to it".I watch porn..do I watch it alot no..but I do watch it. I have a bf who is perfectly okay with it, and dosen't mind watching a flick or two..Being Adventorous in the bedroom is not a crime..and if I am going to hell because I like doggy style instead of laying there like dead weight while my bf does all the work..so be it!!

Most girls with low self esteem when it comes to men...8 times out of 10 it was caused by men..Now not saying that you are like that..or that all men have caused that..There are many contrbutions to a persons low self esteem. Even mental illness..family history..etc.. Now in saying that..does that mean she is undateable..no..Simply tell her that you like a woman with confidence..I learned a long time ago being an over weight woman that Confidence is key! Also never ever discuss ex's ..or show her who your ex's are..I had a guy ask me a bunch of questions about an ex..I also showed him his facebook page and 3 months into our realationship he was messaging my ex and threatening him! So..all that being said..if she has low self esteem..tell her that...Why arn't people just honest!!! I'm not saying tear her down but explain..I am attracted to you..but your lack of self esteem and confidence is changing my mind..honesty is the best policy!

I funny thing is.. Usually people come to me for advice..how or why they figure I am good at it I don't know..but if I need advice I go to my mother..or grandmother..they have seen and been through it all..No I do not always take their advice but it's still enjoyable to get the bad things off your chest and pour your heart out to someone you know what judge you!

I know it's possible! Even though I myself have been cheated on..I know many friends and family that do not cheat on their spouses..I myself have NEVER cheated!..Because I believe that if your really that unhappy and you feel you've done all you can in the relationship then end it! My question is this why is it harder to leave someone..then it is to cheat on them?

This topic has been done to death... I really just do not see the problem...It's all a game of fantasy..Men are just more about the visual then women...I mean my opinon on this matter is why not? Is it really hurting anyone? If a woman is uncomfertable with her man watching porn...thats her perogative..I can understand if a man was more intrested in porn then having sex with their partner then maybe there is grounds to worry..otherwise people just need to chill out ..it's not the 1900's when all a man had was his imagination....it's 2009..things have changed therefor people have changed..just my two cents..take or leave it

Okay I know alot about this because I have done it countless times..if you clarify in your profile that you are a big girl...really if there is a strong connection chances are he has read your profile..I used to put myself down..tell guys that they blind because they tell me I'm beautiful..and it ruin's it..because it shows low self esteem, no confidence, and insecurities...and really would you want to date someone with those qualities right off the hop?

Well being as I am smoker..I guess I can answer this..I consiter myself a consiterate smoker..I understand that it is my bad habit and no one elses..I never smoke in anyone's home including my own. Never around children even outside, I brush my teeth several times a day..I smoke as a stress relief I will admit it is a crutch..and I am working on it..I kicked drugs and alchol..and right now my weight is my number one concern..and as doctors have ordered they want me to not quit until I can control my eating habits and lose some of the weight. So..would I date a non smoker yes..as long as they are comfertable with it.. I understand if someone isn't I don't hate on people who do not smoke..I dislike people who assume the worst in all of the smokers based on people they know or people they have seen...

I do not believe in love at first site... Honestly I think you have to put other factors into a relationship before love becomes even a topic. Attraction...lust...desire ..I can see those being a first sight, But then again my grandparents swear it was love at first sight when they met so I guess it may be true for some but it would never happen to me..I need to know someone quite awhile before the Love words come from my mouth..only ever said it to one person I dated..and we dated for 3 years so..

Because their men??? Men are pretty big on foreplay..at least 78% of men so Cosmo magazine says..it would be the same thing for me if a guy doesn't wanna return the favor, the get the F%ck out! I mean I love to please a man..biggest turn on for me..but to each their own I guess..you'll just have to find one of the other 22%!

Okay...honestly...girl you are wasting your time ..if a guy is into you..if he likes you he will go out of his way to contact you..I honestly think every woman should read the book "he's just not that into you" it's also now a movie..it saved my life! I swear by it now..why waste your time on a guy who dosen't give to sh!ts about you..when you could be taking that time to find a man who does!
