Too good-looking?
Posted:
7/21/2008 11:01:09 AM
Is there such a thing to guys? Are there women you won't date or message because you think they are too good-looking and/or too fit for you?
I have turned down talking to guys because they are too good-looking for me and one said that he can't get a date at all because women are put off by how fit he is. I feel I have a pretty firm grasp on what I look like, and I don't want to date someone that is really hot or has abs harder than the walls in my house.
Whenever we're around someone we deem more beautiful than us, the the voices of "i'm not good enough" starting ringing in the halls of our minds. Most of us, instead of facing these voices, avoid people we deem to be more beautiful than us. I think it can be an opportunity to learn more about ourselves. We may also exaggerate their beauty, and this exaggeration causes feelings of lust to arise. Perhaps a possessiveness? Once we get our hands around something beautiful, then, there is a fear of losing it?
It would seem that a relationship with a beautiful woman, if our minds are not fit, is not a good idea! We may enjoy the time with them for a little bit, but, it will quickly turn sour...the relationship will only give us a temporary pleasure.
My advice is to avoid clinging to beautiful people, nor should you avoid relationships with them...

Approaching women, why not?
Posted:
7/21/2008 10:39:21 AM
Well women are NOT going to want some butt-ugly guy like me approaching her in the first place therefore its a 100% guranteed rejection for me. And women hate being approached anyways.
Approaching women, why should I?.
Do a sense a hint of self-hate? Plus, women don't mind being approached...it is all about how we approach them...

My girlfriend looks at gayporn!!
Posted:
7/16/2008 10:26:09 AM
I was home at her place few days ago and I couldnt help myself sneaking a little bit.. And what i saw shocked me!
She obviously has a thing for gaymen... and i mean that they really did everything on these pics and videos as well!
I know a lot of people looks at porn these days as if its not cheating but according to me its psychological cheating and I wouldnt even consider looking at porn when i have my lovely girlfriend! Why would i want to see something that doesnt even show the real sexlife and just patronizes women? No thank you!
Opinions people?
I would be worried if she was looking at lesbian porn and liking it...but hey, if she likes male gay porn, look on the bright side! She still likes men...and you are a man! Maybe not a gay man, but a man...if she digs gay men because of the way they act, maybe the two of you can work something out? Do a little roleplaying?
If it is the case that she doesn't have sex with you because of a porn addiction, then, it is an issue. Of course, women when aroused can have infinite orgasms...We dudes have one and then a waiting period. So, maybe, porn addiction for women is different than men...I don't know...
Most of the time, women read romance novels and get their jollies that way.

So what is up with all these profiles?
Posted:
7/16/2008 10:17:09 AM
You should only write to the people that have profiles that appeal to you. If there is not enough in the profile to spark your interest, then don't bother
But the beer and football loving *burp* man in us wants to pay attention to the attractive picture!
There is also a side of us, after a short observation, realizes "HEY! Women don't have to write lengthy profiles!? THAT'S UNFAIRS!"
Then, we're caught in between a rock and a hard place.
My solution? I don't apply! I just respond...

honestly, i think you can keep your profiles empty, and if you have a "pleasing" picture, your inbox would be loaded. 90% of the guys who message me doesn't read my profile....then all of a sudden they get shocked when i tell them i have a bf...lol!
LOL!
C'mon guys, we can do better than that!
We complain about women not writing lengthy profiles, then when they do, we probably won't read them anyway!

Why do men isolate themselves when under a lot of pressure?
It is our nature!
Google it!
I see the problem with not working it out sometime in the future, but it is best that we're silent about it when the feelings are strong.

JUST FRIENDS.....with women
Posted:
7/16/2008 9:27:55 AM
Whenever a woman wants to be friends, it doesn't hurt me...I'm doing them a favor...I see myself as a sanctuary for them...
Where are they going to go in order to hide from other women? In the world of women, they're nasty to each other! So judgemental!
Anyways, there is some truth to what Meg Ryan said...at least from my experience...most women I was friends with I wanted to have sex with. But I'm not the same man I was back then...I'm a little older, a bit wiser...smarter...don't always have women on my mind. I found out people can fall in love with things other than women...

I just saw this profile and nearly died laughing. The woman only had her picture and under interests it said "shopping and gambling." She had been added as a favorite 16 times. WTF!!!
LOL!
Brilliant!
The way I see it, don't blame her, blame the guys! If we were harder to get, maybe, women would want to work harder?

So what is up with all these profiles?
Posted:

I was wondering the same thing...
Here is my theory...
Women don't need to write a lengthy and detailed profile to lure in a man. If a woman is attractive, then, they don't have to write much at all. All they need to do is dress nice, wear some make-up, and be in some cute pose. They will get plenty of applicants to sift through!
For guys, we need to be good looking too, don't get me wrong. But, being good looking isn't good enough. We need a good profession and some money! I know this is a generalization, but hear me out. When I was a college student I got zero messages on this program, then, when I got out of college and got a real job (not working at Subway or Pizza Hut), I started getting messages all the time. Coincidink? I think not! There are some ladies out there that have in their filter "$40,000 to $100,000 a year only", no joke!
Now, I'm an edumacated man and I didn't always send my messages to all the attractive women. There is another kind of beauty, one that outshines all the make-up and cute poses. I can usually tell if women possess that beauty by some basic things on their profile, or, through a quick discussion with them.

I often read that men are lookng for sweet kind caring giving woman. I have posted a photo that demonstrates just that, innocent. I am contacted by men looking for sex or who are married of they ask me for more photos. What are you looking for really? I am a sweet, kind generous woman and would love to meet someone looking for just that. Who knows?
Yes, in other words, men are looking for women that are like their grandmothers.

Putting out on the first date.
Posted:
7/15/2008 1:22:07 PM
So, you had a great date. She's cuter than her pictures. She didn't fart at dinner. You had great conversation all night. You are into her...so you go for the kiss...then you go for more...and she doesn't stop you. You guys had great sex. So, will you call her again? For something more than Sex? Would you consider having a relationship with her?
What? She didn't fart during dinner? Hmm, I'm not sure about the date being great then...
Your post is an example of most of my relationships...or at least, the beginning.
I tended to follow a similar pattern...I called her back and we continued to see each other.

Big and bold girls

A acquaintance of mine married a big girl, 230 lbs. one day I asked him why... He explained it to me this way…” he married a big girl because he would never have to worry about her cheating on him because most men don’t date big girls and that no one would want her.
Is there any truth to this…
LOL!
That is so terribly shallow, yet, it is not uncommon!
It only points to his insecurity...

how do I tell if a guy wants a relationship or Just a one night stand?

How do you tell if a guy wants a relationship or just a one night stand?
Simple!
Don't sleep with him for a few months...if he is still there, then he just wanted a relationship with you, rather than just a one night stand. Now, that doesn't mean you can't kiss and be affectionate...it just means there is no hokey pokey for some time.
What is going on in a man's head? I don't know!
Personally, I called my fiance everyday after our first date...but, some guys don't want to seem "interested" because they're afraid they will lose you. However, they could just be "not interested"
I don't know what goes on in men's minds. I would stop analyzing it, or living through them, and start living your life. When the time is right, it will happen.

LOL!
My fiance always reminds me of how I made a bad first impression on our first date. In other words, I failed at "breaking the ice". She says she wanted to leave after a few minutes into our first date, then I bought her some ice cream, so she decided to stay longer. Now, we're engaged!
Moral of the story: Women love ice cream and they will never forget the stupid things you do.

Because it is secondary.

The problem with religion
Posted:
8/3/2007 10:56:06 AM
In my mind, the problem with religion is the "fideistic" mentality it invokes in people. An inability to listen to reason and instead only adhere to strict dogma. Some Christians I talk to say that Christianity isn't a religion, but they're wrong! Christianity is a religion, just like Islam, judaism, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Take your pick! They're all religions!

I know a family that had one of their kids taken away and put into a foster home by civil services. Apparently the parents were unfit to take care of the kid. Guess what happened? The kid was tortured and murdered at the foster home! Wow! This is where we send kids parents don't want! Anyone know who Mike Tyson is? he grew up in a foster home and anyone who grew up in those conditions knows how much shit it really is.

Evolution? would you class it as religion?
Posted:
8/3/2007 10:46:40 AM
No, I wouldn't classify it as a religion, I would classify it as a scientific theory.
Most individuals I talk to who argue against evolution don't understand what evolution is and how it works. They're ignorant, and so, they give strawman arguments for evolution and attack those arguments thinking they have debunked it in some way...when in reality, they have only accomplished looking like a fool in front of all those who understand the science behind the theory.

Why is faith so valued?
Posted:
3/30/2007 7:07:44 AM
Faith become an issue to me when it results in creating within a person a fideistic mindset. These individuals will not listen to reason, so if they wanted to do something potentially dangerous to other people and there was no physical way to stop them, then how are we going to stop them? They won't listen to reason, so its almost impossible.

Smart Blonde, I wouldn't blame the men for having self-esteem or proper self regard for their appearence. I would blame the wellness classes in the school system for conditioning them to have this proper self regard. I get my conditioning from my mother and the wellness classes! I'm handsome (mother), special, and beautiful (wellness classes).

Abortion
Posted:
3/30/2007 6:50:02 AM
Abortion is a touchy subject, and it is a subject that should be met and analyzed with a rational mind. Some people ask that you only take the necessary precautions to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, however, how much precaution should someone take for it to be "reasonable"?
Personally, I find it unreasonable to take a precaution that eliminates having sex completely! I also find it unreasonable to take a precaution that eliminates having kids in the future completely! I'm not saying people should not take any precautions, I think people should, but I think you should take "marginal" precautions. Nobody should be expected to take an action that will always eliminate all possibility of an unintended negative outcome. Imagine living your life that way. You probably wouldn't leave your house!

Morals without Religion?
Posted:
3/30/2007 6:31:23 AM
Most of us bring our moral values to religion, rather than religion bringing our moral values to us. In other words, we interpret the holy texts of our religion based on our previous moral thinking.
Personally, I'm of the persuasion that God loves what is good because it is good, not, what is good is what God loves. I based my morality on reason and I hold to the social contract theory in a secular sense.
So no, Religion is not a necessary condition for morality.

Is Hell Eternal?
Posted:

In reality, nothing is permanent. Things are constantly changing or in flux.
Permanence is an illusion. We make fantasies to avoid this reality. We want our lives to be permanent, but in reality it is not. We will all die one day. The idea of death doesn't seem too attractive, so people make up fantasies to avoid this reality. Hell, I believe, was created to scare people. Heaven was created to alleviate any discomfort towards the impermanency of life. People hope for a place like heaven to exist so that they can go there to live forever and be safe from the ills of life. They want to go to a place that is unchanging. The only thing that is good is nothing. It is the cure of both the ills and pleasures of life. We will transform, we will decay and from our bodies new life will emerge.

what is too nice?
Posted:

The question should not be "What is too nice?" The question should be "Why am I too nice?". Asking a question like "Why am I too nice" on a relationship forum like this would be pointless...Only you know the answer to that question right? Answering "Well, because that is just the way I am", is too ambiguous! And it shows that you haven't actually thought deeply about why you are the way you are, or why you do the things you do.
A woman in your life is not going to make you happy. Does this sound negative? Well, it is the truth. No woman is going to make your life any better. YOU make your life better. It is your decision. People go through life thinking "I NEED my other half! Or else I am not complete!" pfft, before you can be complete with anyone you got to be complete with yourself.
Women who stay with "bad guys" have no self esteem, simply put. I have seen women stay in relationships that are highly abusive. Why? No balls and they believe things will get better. When they believe these things they're in a relationship with a phantom or a fantasy...not reality. We have all seen these women who are clearly in a piece of crap relationship, and yet, they dont even know it!
So don't be bitter about not luring women with the "nice guy" approach. Its not productive at all. Its like drinking poison and expecting HER to get sick from it.

Atheists
Posted:
12/27/2005 10:54:12 AM
"And something else. Atheists also base their beliefs in some theories. You well know what those theories are, and "theory" is not my choice of word. They are mentioned as such."
This is kind of funny. EVERYTHING is a theory. I can't speak for other atheists or agnostics, but the whole point from my perspective is the rejection of placing absolute faith in one theory over all others, especially when it lacks empirical evidence. Quantum physics and relativity are theories, yes. So is the notion that the earth rests on the back of a giant turtle. There are significant differences between these theories though. Quantum physics and relativity are strongly supported by logic, empirical evidence, predictive capability, and coherence with other strongly supported theories. Gloming onto the term "theory" is silly and betrays and utter lack of knowledge of the sciences. It's a qualitative issue.
"Do Atheists have a moral obligation to spread their kind of truth?"
Again, I can't speak for others, but I only feel a need to remind people to keep their facts straight and be logical. Other than that, I don't care what people believe.
"Wouldn't that make Atheism, a form of religion just as well?"
A religion, no. "Religion" has a standard of meaning that involves belief in a supreme being, but strong Atheism is a faith, as to claim with utter certainty that God doesn't exist is a faith based position. It can not be proved or disproved. I, personally, reject such absolute statements, which is why I fall into the category of either weak Atheism, or strong Agnosticism. I find the notion both superfluous and tantamount to believing in the tooth fairy, but I would not claim with utter certainty that there may not be some truth to it. In the same regard, it's possible there may be some truth to the tooth fairy. Probable, hardly, but possible.

hehehe, the problem with the 'nice guys' in your example is not because they're nice...its because all they do is talk about themselves. example "talk about his hobbies" "talk about HIS interests and HIS DVD collection". how boring, yap yap yap! the "player" or guy you speak of takes an interest in the women.
it would also seem the nice guys in your example are "not being themselves". they're trying to impress the woman with their awesome DVD collections and hobbies...lol!
