What's an awesome computer to get?
Posted:

I'm going to get a new computer but I have no idea what is considered great or even decent. All I know is I want something that is very FAST and something that will handle multi-tasking. Suggestions would be very helpful. I'm not sure if it's against the rules to post links but is hinting at different websites against the rules too?
Thanks!

Looks good! You could add a bit more about yourself, but other than that, you get to the point as to what you want and it's great.
Good job

Tired of rewriting my profile.
Posted:
6/21/2009 4:33:51 PM
Well, I'll be honest... it sounds like you are coming across as desperate and forceful. You can be the nicest guy in the world (and the most beautiful) but if you come across that way, no woman will want you. I'm not saying you ARE (are you most likely far from it), it just sounds like you are coming ACROSS that way.
Try toning it down a little and not telling women that you are re-writing your profile over and over again letting (to get their attention). I really like how you wrote in there how you don't have kids because you haven't found the right woman who you want to be the mother of you kids and how you don't do drugs, etc... that is something you should leave in there. Keep what is YOU in there. Be yourself.
Another thing that will DEFINITELY push someone away is the way it ended... it was ended on a bad note. You sounded like such a nice guy up until the end. At that point I put a guard up as I was reading the end because you were being a jerk and bashing women and you were seeming very insecure about who you were. Yes, you could have hard feelings (we all do when we get rejected), but when you throw them out there (especially on your profile), it doesn't look good. Take that out as well. When you see someone doesn't write back and just deletes your email, move on. You don't want her anyway. She would be a waste of your time. As for who you were (physically), who cares what you look like. I've dated guys in my past who weren't the cuted men around, but they were secure in themselves, and it SHOWED. That's why women liked them. If your words reflect what's in your heart and not what's in your head, maybe that will help.
As I said before, you sound very nice in your profile. Putting the pics of the dog up is a bonus too! Try what I said and see what it does
good luck!

Teen girls useing Welfare to have babies
Posted:
6/9/2009 7:28:41 PM
I have a qestion to all the people out there......I was wondering how you feel about your tax money going towards teen moms who have no education and no jobs and think that welfare is a free ride for them.....dont get me wrong I believe that some people need the help but is our system letting people slip though the cracks? Should we have a limit on how many children we are going to support and then after that the mother has to find a way to take care of any other expecting children? Should we also have a limit on how long people should be allowed to claim for? I know people who go on uninployment only have 6 months to find a new job should that apply for welfare also? I just want to see how many people think this is an issue we should address soon within our country?
It makes me mad because as you said, some people really need help and need it. But with working at a doctors office, you see every day a LOT of people on public aide with a few other insurances and it drives me nuts because I know of people who can genuinely use it and "don't qualify". How can some people know how to work the system like that? Makes me sick. Then having baby on top of baby to keep it. I know of a lady who every year when it was time to sign her kid up for school, she would tell them she didn't have the money and they would still let the kid in. How does that work now? I have a friend who keeps getting extensions with unemployment and she makes more than I do. Of COURSE she wouldn't want to look (seriously) for a job. She hasn't worked in over a year now (I think it's getting close to 2). My parents are struggling to keep their house, don't have insurance, are in their 60's... my sister has a baby, can barely keep HER house, doesn't have insurance, yet some people have it all. I just feel completely blessed I have a job and good health insurance (and can try and help them any way I can).
OK I'm done ranting :) thanks

Tips on remembering what you learn?
Posted:

Does anyone know of any tips on helping you remember what y0u learn? I swear I can barely remember my own birthday let alone someone else's.
Also I was thinking about taking up some random things to learn about (ex: maybe taking up another language, brushing up on my math skills, etc...) THOSE seem like they would be hard. How can you really make something hard a bit more enjoyable?

question christians
Posted:

If a percentage of Christians pray to God, asking that Mr. Obama not become President and another; we’ll say equal percentage prays to the same God that Mr. Obama does become President; why, after he did become President, do the Christians that did not get their—I will use the word wish—granted, not concede that Mr. Obama was God’s choice for America?
{just going off my opinion here. I'm a Christian so I'm answering in my OWN Christian point-of-view, not speaking for other Christians though}
Personally, I think it's kind of selfish if people pray for "Please let Obama become president" or "Please let McCain become president". It should really be, "Please let the person who has the best intentions for our country and who will run the country to the best of their ability be the president.
Also, I think the reason Obama IS the president now (whether people like it or not) is because it's God's will (of you you want to call it fate, that's fine too). He is suppose to be where he is now and life is suppose to be exactly as it is. You can't change tomorrow's outcome back you CAN pray and hope that you can deal with it the best way it will come.
Just my thoughts.

One thing in a band you could change
Posted:

And any AC/DC song just bugs me. Same old bridge, same old bass lines, same everything. Just like Def Leppard...all their songs sound the SAME!
That's how I feel about most Brittany Spears, Christina Agulara (wow I butchered her last name).... they all are starting to sound the same. The same beat you hear in every other song you hear on the radio. I'm not saying all of them sound BAD. But after you hear it once, you just kind of know it haha. Kind of disappointing.

"A modern version of the singer from Rush"? That doesn't make much sense; the singer from Rush is still singing.
Yes, I understand what you are saying. The singer from this group (I wish I remembered the name...) his voice resembled the lead single from Rush, but in a more... I don't know... today sort of sound. The music was GREAT. The singer was very good himself. The pitch was just kind of annoying.
Rush's Geddy Lee is not just a vocalist. He is also a prolific songwriter and is an excellent bass player.
That he is, but in my opinion, he's a crappy singer {my opinion}
This thread really isn't about Rush though lol.
Nickelback is another thing that bothers me. I don't like their music but they are... talented I guess. The singer would be great if it sounded like he was singing by himself. He sounds like he is singing with someone all the time... in every song. Kind of gets annoying.

I was talking with a buddy of mine yesterday and he introduced me to this band last night. He said, "The lead singer's voice is like a modern version of the singer from Rush." I said, "Maybe that's why I don't like them so much haha. The music itself is GREAT but the lead singer has to go... just like Rush."
Do you have a band that you have in mind when you hear this??

Feeling Old?
Posted:

a 50-ish doctor came in and said, "it's not right that you should be in pain, a nice young woman like you"... i was 32
Couple years ago, I was having some REALLY bad lumbar problems, and working for at a pain management doctors office, one of the docs wrote me a script to get an MRI. After I got it done, we sat down together in his office with the report, he looked it over, then he looked at me and said, "Well, you have the MRI of a 50 year old."
Even THEN I didn't FEEL it haha. Wow when I originally wrote this post, I was feeling REALLY old. Thank God the feeling started to wear off a little, but not THAT much! Let me tell you something though... L'Oreal Wrinkle De-crease is lovely! The night and day. I may not work (as in decreasing wrinkles lol) but it makes you feel smooth as a baby, and being a smoker... what the heck! Never hurts, you know? But I tell you one thing, still getting carded for cigs makes it worth it

What is a good digital (I say digital because I dont want something that I have to take apart and put together over and over and over again...) that takes some decent pics with some good quality? I have a kodak now and its "OK" but I want something thats spectacular. I'm getting into the whole photography and it bothers me when I can't get a good close up of an object (like my fish or something like that). Any good websites I can check out?

Are you being rejected because you are NICE or because she realizes you are not a compatible couple?
There is a LOT more to a potential relationship than being nice. Compatibility is crucial.
Yup, I agree with this 100%. A guy can be nice, but if you aren't compatible, there's nothing. I've dated tons of nice guys, but if there's nothing there...
Just because someones nice, doesn't mean they are nice FOR you. Doesn't mean you should look for some jerk with a stick up their...
Besides, if the girl doesn't want you, move on. She's not FOR you. Something better is for you waiting for you.

Ok heres a question that has been bothering me for a little while. When I go to change the water, I know I'm suppose to keep 25% of it in the tank still. (Ok there's more than one question here.)
1) So far since I only have one fish in there, do I take her out and put her somewhere else? Someone told me I could keep her in there (in just the small amout of water.
-If I DID keep her in (which REALLY doesn't make sense to me), wouldn't I have to figure out a way on keeping the water at the 74-78 degree area? I just want to figure out the best way on doing it without stressing her out too much. I've had her for 3 years and shes a gimp.
2) When I put the new water in, should I let the tank run again for 24-48 hrs like how I originally did?
3) Would it be best to get the drops to get rid of the chlorine insread of letting the water sit?
4) The filter (since I had a friend pet up my tank for me), are there any special filters inside that should be cleaned? (wow that really sounds like a stupid question! HAHA. I'll have to read up on that.
5) I've been reading up on amonia. What is that about? Since I have one fish and when she dies only plan on getting 2 MAX in the future, is that something that is a huge issue?
6) Cleaning the gravel- (literally scooping them out? I saw this silly little vaccum thing at PetCo but that looked like for huge tanks).

OK, I just got a 10 gallon aquarium, set it up, did everything I was told to do (with how to set up the tank and how to let it run before putting the fish in, etc... etc... etc...). Did a bit of research.
But I just want a couple tips and pointers on what I could do to make things easier for myself (with clean up, some things I SHOULD do, some things I SHOULDN'T do, etc..)
Books and other people tell you only so much. Experience talks more than anything.
Advice???

Fave generalizations...
- That people with piercings and tattoos are scary or trash (or druggies or alchies)
- That fat or chubby people only eat junk food
- That the quiet person with the "mean look" on their face is conceited and doesn't want to talk to you (maybe they are just shy?)
- That Christians think they are perfect and better than everyone else (NOT TRUE!!)

Well, it hit me... I finally feel like I'm starting to get old. Ya, most of you think someone who is 25 is nuts for thinking they "feel old" at that age but its true. When I turned 25 the other week, a couple things came to mind...
I'm not married yet...
I don't have any college degrees yet...
Didn't do anything fabulous with my life yet...
Yet I'm getting older... WOW. Time is racing past me and I didn't even do anything yet! I feel about 18 in my head and it hit me that my nephew is 17 and when I start to look at the way him and his friends do things and I start to think, "no that music you listen to isn't REAL music..." and "wow, your clothes and hair you kids wear nowadays are ridiculous!" - you kinda think to yourself - did you parents think this way? am I turning into my mom??-
What was the age that is started to hit you?

Death Metal and Dating...
Posted:

That's true, raphael. My boyfriend now likes pretty much anything I listen to. He used to be a drummer. When I put new things on, he'll start subconsciously tapping his hands and feet and ask me what's playing and I'll tell him and he'll be like, "this is goooood," and that will be that. On the other hand, I've dated guys in the past I've just wanted to shoot myself with their line of music. Don't get me wrong, I like most anything out there from Classical, Trip Hop, Death Metal and New Age to Italian music, Christian music, and friggin Disney music!
But some things like the Goo Goo Dolls and Pearl Jam being drilled into your head makes you nuts after a time! Ya relationships are a compromise, but it really does help when you both appreciate the music together.

Plenty of examples abound, but it's hard to generalize to women. The whole Godsmack/Korn contingent (male or female) drives me nuts.
Ohh I hear ya on that! They suuuccckkkkk!!!! I used to really like Slipknot too but their new stuff makes me embarassed to listen to them. Their old stuff if still decent tho. Metallica can just STOP. They are DONE.

Note to the Always Manager
Posted:
10/11/2008 8:20:01 AM
(This will probably be deleted but who knows. It made me laugh really hard and hopefully will make you all laugh too)
This is (supposedly) an actual letter sent to American company Procter and
Gamble regarding their feminine products. She really gets rolling after
the first paragraph...
Dear Mr. Thatcher,
I have been a loyal user of your "Always" maxi pads for over 20 years and
I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the Leak Guard Core or
Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never go horseback riding or salsa
dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach in
tight, white shorts.
But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on
being the only company smart enough to realize how crucial it is that maxi
pads be aerodynamic. I can't tell you how safe and secure I feel each
month knowing there's a little F-16 in my pants.
Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? Ever suffered from
"the curse"? I'm guessing you haven't. Well, my "time of the month" is
starting right now. As I type, I can already feel hormonal forces
violently surging through my body. Just a few minutes from now, my body
will adjust and I'll be transformed into what my husband likes to call "an
inbred hillbilly with knife skills." Isn't the human body amazing?
As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no doubt seen
quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customers'
monthly visits from "Aunt Flo". Therefore, you must know about the
bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood
swings, crying jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's
a tough time for most women. In fact, only last week, my friend Jennifer
fought the violent urge to shove her boyfriend's testicles into a George
Foreman Grill just because he told her he thought Grey's Anatomy was
written by drunken chimps. Crazy!
The point is, sir, you of all people must realize that America is just
crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... Which brings me to the
reason for my letter.
Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach
inside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and
there, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: "Have a Happy
Period." Are you fing kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your
tiny middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling,
laughing happiness is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything
mentioned above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James?
FYI, unless you're some kind of sick S&M freak girl, there will never be
anything "happy" about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on
Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your house just so you don't march
down to the local Walgreen's armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan
to end your life in a blaze of glory
For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you just have to slap a
moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say
something that's actually pertinent, like "Put down the Hammer" or
"Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong", or are you just picking on us?
Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately,
there will be an $8 drop in monthly sales, for I have chosen to take my
maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your
Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending
bulls$#t. And that's a promise I will keep. Always.
Best,
(I'll leave the name out)

25 Ways To Tell You're Grown Up
Posted:
10/11/2008 8:05:32 AM
(I got a kick out of this)
25 Ways to Tell You're Grown Up (source unknown)
1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
2. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6am is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
6. You watch the weather channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up".
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14 days.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up".
10. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don't know what time the mall closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14. You feed your dog science diet instead of McDonald's.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16. You take naps.
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of one.
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 am would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid not condoms and pregnancy test.
20. A $4 bottle of wine is no long "Pretty good sh!t".
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to," replaces " I'm never going to drink that much again. "
23. 90% of the time you spend in the front of a computer is for real work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "Oh sh!t, what the hell happened?"
BONUS
26. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old ass.

Pet Stories
Posted:
10/8/2008 7:58:41 PM
Well, I have many many many pet stories (ranging from finding a baby sparrow and raising it to cats, chihuahua's, rottweilers, etc....) but my favorite recent stories were my two beta's at work. I had a boy and girl beta (Rocky and Adrian). Rocky was the big guy in one bowl with leaves and roots on one ledge and Adrian was (is) a smaller one in her own bowl with leaves and roots and rocks and blah blah blah... anyway... that's besides the point.
I would clean their bowls at work and every time I'd go by Rocky's bowl, he would swim like a maniac around the bowl trying to get away from me! (This may sound sick to you guys but the only way I can get them is to literally reach in and grab them. I don't have a net that could fit in the small opening of the vases/bowls) He would flip out and swim like mad around the bowl to get away from me and finally when I'd get the little guy in his new, clean bowl, it looked like he would be taking deep breaths (HAHA) and he would just SIT at the top of the tank for hours not moving. Patients would walk by and say, "I think your fish is dead." I would say, "Nope, he's just upset, I just cleaned his bowl." Eventually he'd get over it (until next time!!) His fighting fins would come out every time I came by the bowl and he just hated me like no ones business! You'd have to see it to believe it! People would laugh at me, it was funny. Needless to say, he died late last year. I found him dead on the bottom of his bowl. I'm sure he tried to kill himself to get away from me HAHA, but it was nice having him for the year we did even if he was a crab a$$!
Adrian was a different story! She is such a good girl! Every time I go up to the front desk in the morning to feed her, she gets SO excited to see me! She swims up to the side of the bowl towards me and in small circles trying to get to me, then she swims up in quick circles up to the top of the bowl to see if I put food in her bowl HAHA. I spoil her rotten with the feeding. I know they say you are suppose to feed them once every 2 or 3 days, but I feed her 5 times a week. We've had her over 2 years now. She loves me! If I could take her out and kiss her I would!
So when people say fish have the memory span of 3 seconds, I don't believe it because Rocky hated my guts and Adrian loves me

OK, I think I'm finally going to trade in my Firebird for something more realistic (I can't drive it in the snow/sleet/rain
... you know...) and what are all of your opinions on what's the best out there.
Price IS important (something under $17,000 generally) but mainly something that isn't a HUGE gas sucker and has 4 wheel drive.
Any suggestions? I'm sort of clueless and could use some advise from everyone!

Good luck with THAT! Ya that would be a bit turn off-ish for a guy I'd imagine

NEW FEATURE: Plentyoffish Music using IMEEM - How To Use
Posted:

The music will not autoplay although I plan on allowing users the option of having all music autoplay.
I haven't read through all the pages of forums (just a few) and haven't found the answer but is there a way to do the autoplay yet? If not thats OK, it's just great to be able to put music on it. Way to go POF!

How to get published??

I have a question and maybe there's someone who can shed some light on this for me...
I'm slowly but surely writing a romance novel. I hope to get it published one day... I've been told to take writing classes to make sure my writing is where it needs to be. That's fine, I can do that not a problem. But I guess what I'm asking is where do I find a publisher? How do I go about on finding one? And once I have one in mind, where do I go from there? I need someone to tell me exactly step by step what to do because I'm completely clueless and want to get started on possibly making this a career for myself.
I will take any suggestions!

Why Doesn't God Speak Anymore?
Posted:
2/22/2008 10:14:33 AM
It seems a little odd to me that people are going by a book that is centuries old (the Bible), which was written by men, many of which claimed to either have God spoken to them, or witnessed miracles so large in proportion that if a person were there, they could not deny the existance of God. So..if this is true..then why is it that God does not speak to man now? What made that generation so special? Why doesn't God just give us a great sign...like the parting of the red sea for example...something that would not be questioned as anything but a sign from God? Why does he remain silent? It makes no sense to me. If you want people to worship you, why would you not make yourself known...besides words in an ancient, perhaps unaccurate book? Worshipping an invisible entity that never talks, or gives any signs of his/her presense seems like a game to me.
Well, I think God doesn't speak directly to us (like how it was in the Bible) because after Jesus was crucified, He said, "It is finished" meaning His purpose on earth at that time was fulfilled. Then reading more into the New Testament, it talks about how He will then come back next for the Rapture, etc... So right now it's more of a waiting period till that happens. But God still talks to us all the time whether its a sign or a feeling or anything. There were many times when I kept second guessing myself and I honestly just cried out, and He was right there. When you talk to God, He'll talk back, but that's when you need to then say, "OK, please tell me in a way I can understand and make it clear to me." He will. God will never NOT show himself to you. He loves you too much.
Just my opinion

OK here's a questions then. Still haven't gotten it done and now it's looking more and more appealing.
I want to know step by step what happens. You get in the room, then what? Do they touch your eye with their fingers? Do you then look away and get yelled at? :) Will I need at ask a doctor for Valium? (I feel like I could have a heart attack thinking about it right now- do NOT want someone touching my eye!)
I was watching that show How It's Made and I saw the old way of them doing the vision correction and MAN was it scary!!!!

10 Reasons Born-Agains are Born-Agains
Posted:
8/25/2007 7:06:53 PM
In my opinion there are a whole different set of reasons why "born agains" chose this.
Most born again christians i have met have had either addictions to drugs or drink or have had troubled lives, they need something to cling to when their real life addictions are killing them.
They want a life that equates judging all others and seem to be the most judgemental people one can ever meet. They seem to think that because they have conquered their demons everyone else can and should.
They also seem to think that everything is cureable, from homosexuality to serial killing.
Oh and the most important one... they lost their faith in the first place.
Heh, sadly enough, I know what you mean. I've known QUITE A FEW Born Agains that are/were like that. Heck, I think I've been one of them too and it's a shame. The way I look at it is people fall. No matter what it is, all of us fall on our butts when it comes down to it and our patience or pride is being tested. It sucks. A lot of people go to Christ asking for Him to help us and bring us back to where we want to be. And it shouldn't be like that. It's funny. Growing up, I was a lot like that (when I decided to truly get to know Him) but it seems now Im talking to Him more and more as a friend and not as a crutch. I can look at a flower or sunset or something so "meaningless" to some people and think, "Wow, you are amazing! Thank you for this!" Crossing across three lanes of busy traffic, thinking He mixed electricity and water together... Just a bunch of stuff that shows a part of who HE is. It's pretty neat when you get down deeper. Anywho, I know what you mean though and it's sad. I don't think everything in this world can be cured. Addicts will always be addicts. Sure, they can choose to stop something, but they will always be an addict. And as for the judgmental... ya in a way I can agree too. But I don't think that's honestly Christians. I think that's "people". Goes back to us fallking. But most of the people I know who judge the most are the people who are that insecure with themselves they have to turn the light away from themselves and put it on others. And no one can concur demons unless they want to. Personally, I wouldn't want to live with that much weight on my shoulders. It's to each their own, right? You're right though when it comes to a lot of it though.

Cicadas- the 17 yr kind
Posted:

Who here has the cicadas yet? There are a lot here, but not half as many as I anticipated. From what I remember, there were a LOT more, and they were insanely loud! This year, sure they are loud, but not like before. I just wanted to see who else out there feels this way of hear opinions on what's going on. Did something happen where there aren't going to be as many or do you have a lot??

Question for the POF women
Posted:
5/31/2007 3:33:21 PM
In my profile I tried to list everything I enjoy doing and I wrote a long profile so it gives any women who might be interested a chance to start a conversation with.
That's a good thing if you are looking for someone who is willing to take time out to read your profile. You'll see a lot of people making jokes (which I don't know who said it, but that is the honest to God truth. Jokes are a total icebreaker and women like funny men), telling what they like, and what they don't like. But if it's so long, the woman may lose interest. I took a look at your profile and personally I think it looks good. Just make sure you make your note to them as original as possible. A woman can tell a "chain" note from anywhere. I'd personally start out by asking them a question about their profile. As I said before, take something that you just know they like (hopefully it'll be right on the page lol) and ask them about it. Play dumb or try to say something no other man has said before. :) You can do it!

Question for the POF women
Posted:
5/18/2007 10:46:07 AM
I was just telling this other person (just today) what got me. He (was just some stranger at the time) IMed me, and asked me what my feelings were about God. He was just coming to me as a person, not looking for a relationship, and things started to spiral. He picked the most important thing to me and asked me how I felt about it. Try that. It works.

Stacey
I miss your shining eyes.
I miss your crooked tail.
I miss your smiling mouth.
I miss you biting your nails.
I miss you sitting next to me,
Snuggling against my body or leg.
At times I wanted you to leave me alone.
But I’ll always wish for you to be here with me instead.
I miss your plump little body.
I miss your tiny paws.
I miss every damned thing about you.
I even miss all your wonderful flaws.
I miss your snorting nose.
The one with goofy lumps on the top.
I miss your raspy bark.
And when you’re jump to the ground with a flop.
I hope and pray the LORD took you with Him.
Healed you inside out- head to toe.
I wish you didn’t have to get sick.
I wish you didn’t have to go.
LORD, please watch over our little girl.
Make sure there’s someone in Heaven to pet her.
Please be sure to play with her and love her till we get there.
Please ask someone there to wash her fur.
Please, LORD, have someone up there for her to sleep with.
I pray this being will appreciate her unique ways.
Help her not to be scared of the change from earth to Heaven.
Please let her remember us when it’s our own day.
Please make sure this person feeds her what she likes.
She’s a sucker for sweets and meats.
And if she’s getting cold at all,
Make sure she has nice, warm sheets.
Thank you, LORD, for the time we had with her.
She was such a special dog.
I pray while you heal her heart,
You also touch ours and pull us from this fog.
I’ll miss you till the day I die.
I really can’t wait to see you again.
We’re going to miss not having you here.
I am truly proud to call you mans best friend.

aboriginal racism....still happening today?
Posted:
3/11/2007 3:22:40 PM
Ok ....
I was in a store recently and I bought a can of lysol I swear to god the woman at the counter asked me what it was for? I simply said to sanatize my home.. she looked at me cross eyed and asked if I was a indian were her exact words I replied yes of course why ?then she goes on to say that her manager has asked her to ask any indian who buys aresol products what the use of it is? I was like WTF? she said they have sniffing tendencies I was PISSED beyond belief how can people be so god darn hyprocritical in this day and age ? and still sleep at night? I don't even look native I'm metis.
I know most people still believe that all aboriginals are on wel fare and do drugs but you know what thats not all of us. every race has its share of idoits my question is this.. when will it stop? if ever? have you ever had this happen ? you don't have to be aboriginal to reply I would just like others opinons.
Wow, what a b*tch. Did you say anything back to her? I would have. As you said yourself. Every race has its share of idiots. And she just made HERS look bad. Oh well, all the power to ya for not throwing the bottle at her head :) I don't think the racism will ever stop. I also think that if your parents are racist at all, you will be too (to an extent). Deep down. Not full blown, but a bit. There may come a time when someone says something to you, and you think of something your parent once said. I have friends like that. Heck, I've had some of my friends parents not like me in the past because I wasn't their culture. Oh well. And if they had tried to get to know me, they would have know I was being a great influence of their precious kid instead of telling them to go out and throw their lives away. People see what they want to see and that's that. Some of the nicest people I know look like the biggest jerks and some of the biggest jerks I know look like they deserve a trophy for all around best person.
Just know that if you know you are a good person, that's all that matters because your greatest fans are your enemies :)
