I'm thinking it might be a good idea, LifeRawks, if you tell the door people where the POFers are so that when newbies walk in they aren't feeling outta place. Just my opinion of course. I know that if I went to a meet as a newbie by myself, I'd feel REALLY insecure and apprehensive about even showing up!! See everyone tomorrow night!!

Can't agree with you Allu. Anyone who reads mine has TONS of comments or funny add-ons! My friend puts a sentence at the end of hers that says 'if you've read this' blah blah, she puts a secret word that she wants them to add in their email. Good idea I suppose. Still can't stand the emails that say "hi, ur hot".....like wtf are you supposed to do with that?! ugh. Maybe I should email back and say "hi, ur not"...

So what, big deal. So the the team paid for the flu shots. Do you realize the revenue this team brings to Calgary AND Alberta? Yeah, I'm all for them having the flu shots. If the Gov. had their shitt together, they would have had clinics opened for JUST kids and pregnant moms for the first few days, so that healthy people weren't sukin up all the free vaccines.

@ TRBL, sorry 'bout your Dad. The only case I've heard of this strain killing anyone alone was the 13 year old TO boy...but then again, how do we really know he didn't have underlying medical issues, perhaps he had a heart defect that wasn't detected by doctors. H1N1 isn't the ebola virus Golf, it's another strain of a flu. I'm no medical scientist by any means, and don't claim to know squat about this flu - but I do know that the flu doesn't kill, complications in having it kills!!! Holy Golf, you sure git yer peckker in a knot when someone disses the newspapers! Pretty easy life as a reporter in GP when you can copy and paste your info from Government of Alberta websites.....no investigative reporting there hey!! Just clearly sayin!

I'll tell you for a fact that a lot of the nurses that are calling in sick and having the younger ones take their place on the floor and burning out, are totally burnt out themselves and are the ones that have been breaking their backs for 20+ years. It's the shittest job with little to no recognition or appreciation, that INCLUDES the patients - and Diane is right when she says you're in it cuz you love it, not for the money! I gotta step in an stick up for RN, RPNs, HCA....the whole lot of you....kudos ... it's a soul burning career!

Tell me this.....how many of these thousands of people are actually being tested for the virus H1N1.....not many! Because people come down with a cold or flu, and have similar syptoms, does NOT mean they've contracted swine flu. If my kid gets sick and I take him/her to the doctor, there is NO WAY in hell that the doctor is sending him for blood work unless he's got respiratory problems. Too many are assuming it's swine flu and it could just be a strain that's been around for decades.

Any virus can be contracted through mucus membranes, nose, eyes, mouth, so if your hands are filthy and you rub your eyes, pick your nose, etc., yer screwed. Stay at least six feet away from anyone coughing or sneezing. Wash your hands often, and for at least 30 seconds.

Personally, if I got a sammich put in front of me with a bottle of nice wine, I split a gut! It'd be amazingly funny. If you go as far as to agree to go to someone's place for dinner, and the other agrees to cook....it's almost a home run right there. JMO

Once I had a pof'er ask me for a picture of myself in a suite (gawd I'm not even sure if I've spelled suite right). I said no, but I could buy a suit (sp?) if that would help. How can you not own a soot (sp?) she asked. I like guys in suuts because they have good jobs and can afford nice clothes, she said. She's kind of right. I should own a soote. Funerals, court appearances, begging for loans at the bank. I just told her that I've worked really hard in life to be able to afford to not own a souiet first, I'll need 10 minutes to stop laffin at the SUIT mutter!! too funny!! second, I agree with AE when he states his opinion that we live in a vain world - we do. First impressions are SOOO important, why do you think we all have our muggs plastered on this site - so others can judge us. If I'm going on a date, I'll look my best. If I date this guy, I'll look my best. If I marry him, I'll still look my best --- cuz it makes ME feel good, regardless the cost! the end.
