UFC Rampage vs Silva 3
Posted:

I don't know why people complain so much about the Ortiz-Machida fight. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Machida dropped Tito in every round and then Tito nearly pulled out a miracle win at the end of the fight with that triangle choke when it looked like he was a quick ground and pound from getting finished. How is that not exciting?

The Jags were a HUGE disappointment this year. Considering some people thought they might go deep in the playoffs, they're probably the most overrated team of the season.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Vs. Frank Mir --Who are you betting on?
Posted:
12/24/2008 9:36:26 PM
I think because both guys are so good on the ground, we'll either see a KO or a boring decision. Either way, I don't see Mir having a chance other than a lucky strike or a freak injury. Big Nog is too good on the ground and he has vastly better boxing than Mir.

Back to the OT, I've been watching since the atrocious "Superfight" between Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie. I'm honestly surprised I continued watching after that garbage, but thankfully, the sport has improved by leaps and bounds since those days.

Is 30's the dead zone in dating?
Posted:
9/27/2008 4:35:04 PM
My 30's have been more of a golden age for dating. I have my own place, my finances are stable, I'm still in great shape physically, mentally I believe I'm a much better person than I've ever been, and I have all the free time I need to get out and have fun. There are so many more advantages to dating at this age than when I was younger. The expectation when I was younger was to find a mate and live happily ever after. Now it is to go out, enjoy the date, and if we enjoyed each other's company, do it again sometime. If you relax, keep it all in perspective, keep a positive attitude, and enjoy meeting new people, dating in your 30's is a blast!

Do men select women that areā¦
Posted:

I don't consciously gravitate to women who remind me of my mother, but in hindsight, I tend to make platonic friends with women who remind me of my sisters and the women who I've dated who somewhat resemble my mother, I've treated better than the ones I've dated who did not resemble her in any way.

he said that men view women in 2 ways like the characters in the movie superbad:
1) sexual objects for physical gratification
2) some idealized standard
No way. It's like in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka when John Slade explains to Jack Spade the difference between making love and getting laid.

I am noticing a trend in women over 30
Posted:
9/11/2008 8:20:17 PM
I haven't noticed a lot of women looking for younger guys, but if they are, there's someone out there for everyone. Personally, I don't like a huge age difference between myself and the women I date, because I tend to have a lot more in common with women in my age group. I'm assume the same is true in reverse.

Rashad showed Chuck why throwing an uppercut from way outside and leading with your face is a bad idea.
Franklin looked good at 205. Poor guy only looks bad when he fights Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. Hamill looked scared to me.
Hendo won in his usual patient way. I thought he was lucky to get out of that ankle lock so quickly, because he very nearly had it snapped.
The rest of the bouts . . . meh.

long distance - weekend only dating
Posted:
8/25/2008 4:31:42 PM
I've been there. She lives in Pensacola and I live in Jax just over a 5 hour drive from each other. It lasted about 6 months and was nice for awhile. Eventually, it got too lonely when we were away and too stressful trying to accomplish more than boning while we were together, so it got old pretty fast. The dynamic of the relationship became more about sex than companionship and that wasn't what either of us were looking for.

B.J. Penn vs. GSP 2
Posted:

Penn has fantastic stand up and was smoking him in the first fight until they both gassed. I think GSP takes this to the ground. Penn has better jits, but GSP has better wrestling. GSP's best chance at controlling Penn is on the ground.

Would you open you marriage to save it?
Posted:

If I wanted to have sex with multiple partners, I wouldn't get married, and if I wanted to start having sex with other partners while I was married, I'd get divorced. I don't morally condemn couples who have open marriages, but I don't understand why they bothered to get married in the first place.

It's been a year and a half. It's past time to stop being upset about how things panned out. Accept what happened, learn from the experience, and move on. You can recognize disappointment without being emotional if you put your mind to it. Life is about moving forward and not dwelling on the past.

The paradox of female liberation
Posted:
8/23/2008 1:51:20 PM
"To me it translates into effectively performing both female and male roles at the same time. . . . Do you think this is a correct implementation of a great idea of female liberation?"
I do not agree with that. Liberation is for the individual whether racial, gender related, social, religious, etc. Being liberated means you, the individual, are free to carve your own path in this life. It also means you are free to follow any number of existing paths.

B.J. Penn vs. GSP 2
Posted:
8/22/2008 3:37:30 PM
I have no idea who wins this one, but I'm glad they have 5 rounds and a belt on the line this time. I'm a BJ Penn fan, but GSP looks like a wrecking ball lately. I don't see either having that much of an advantage over the other standing or on the ground, but I'd love to see BJ put his Gumby-man brazilian jiu-jitsu clinic on GSP and choke him out. However, I have a hunch GSP really comes out smokin' this time. It could be close or it could be a blow out for either guy.

Calves are sore along shin bone from running.
Posted:

Do you have low arches? If so, you might want to invest in a nice pair of motion control running shoes. If you tend to turn your foot inward (over pronate), this will strain your shins. A pair of motion control shoes can correct that problem and take the brunt of the stress off your shins.
