personally, saying this doesn't bother me.. although not every man will make me want to say it.. to me, it's a term used for the exceptional.. i guess if the sex wasn't that great, or the connection wasn't that strong, i wouldn't feel inclined or comfortable
Truthy...when you're this big, they call you...Mister.

i do, whenever i see them.. and i don't care what they use it for.. honestly.. i hope they're doing the right thing with it.. but if they're buying booze or whatever.. then i guess it's up to them.. it's no longer my money after i give it... i just try to have faith that it's helping them.

ug i know.. what's wrong with people? lol. i usually loose interest around the time that these questions are asked, because it kinda indicates that they're only interested in sex. .. and nothing against those people.. but it doesn't exactly make a girl feel special.lol.

best thread i've seen in forever.lol.. i like it!
yes.. some women.. do wish to be sex slaves.. but why stop there...
thing is... for some of us.. both men and women, there is a calling to submit and be dominated... it's an equal balance and a fair relationship because it's about trust.. most slaves wear their collar with pride.. some say that it means more than a wedding ring or anything else that symbolizes committment.. the one being disempowered is doing this freely.. because they trust the dom.. and the dom trusts them to take them and make them their own... and often deep love and devotion on both sides..

Should I meet this guy ?
Posted:

well.. you never know.. have you thought about just outright asking him? i've talked to so many guys on here and they say they are single.. but then they hit you with the .. well.. i'm sort of "about to seperate" or "i'm in a loveless marriage" at the point when you're kinda getting to enjoy the chatting back and fourth and meeting time seems to be near... so, my suggestion would be.. if you have a question .. ask him.. he's the only one that can tell you.. we don't know him
i agree that the scenerio that you're describing. makes him sound a lil fishy.lol.. could it be possible that he's just really got phone issues or something? lol my cell phone used to do stuff like that before i got it replaced..
seriously.. just ask him.lol

Mars and M&M's test on animals?
Posted:
12/12/2007 2:35:38 PM
your statement concerning Greenpeace and PETA is based on nothing and is ludicrous, they do not spend their time and money on "finding causes where there are none"...
the biggest "urban legend" is the belief that they fight fictitious and inane causes
I do know for a fact that GreenPeace and PETA have been known to build a mountain out of a mole hill. Take for example the seal hunt in Canada. If you look at the websites for these organizations, they are showing pictures of baby seals with captions such as "save the baby seals" or "stop the slaughter of baby seals". The hunting of baby seals for anything has been illegal since some time in the 60's. They know that the best chances of receiving support and donations is by tugging at the heart strings. If you saw a picture of a full grown seal, one most likely wouldn't feel as moved by the cause.
So, I will agree, that it may not be completely "urban legend", but either way, a lie is a lie.
I do believe that the underlying message of these organizations is good. Be good to the planet, be respectful. I'm 100% behind that aspect. I'm just not so quick to believe them when it comes to causes such as this one or the seal hunt - because of prior actions on their part.

Yep, it seems that PETA has jumped on the GreenPeace bandwagon - meaning that they will find causes where there are none and if they can't find one, they'll make one up.
I for one find this one a little far fetched - there may be some truth to it, but I'm thinking that this one can be filed under urban legend.

Michael Vick sentencing
Posted:
12/10/2007 7:54:42 PM
I dont' agree with his sentence. They gave him too light of a term. I hate it when you hear about people getting light sentences for their cooperation. I don't think that they really needed him to cooperate - I think they had what they needed... his little friends came out of the woodwork to hang him when they thought they might get on TV. I feel that they should have given him the maximum...
I also feel that he should have been sentenced to some sort of mental institution as well - most people would not be able to do the horrible things that he did - he must be psychotic. They need to send the message out to his kind: that treating animals this way is not accepted.

Mars and M&M's test on animals?
[Thread Closed/Bumped]

Got a sweet tooth? Think twice before picking up a Mars candy bar! You should know that candymaker Mars, Inc.—creator of M&M's, Snickers, Twix, Dove, Three Musketeers, Starburst, Skittles, and other candies—funds deadly animal tests, even though there are more reliable human studies and not one of the tests is required by law.
Mars is currently funding a deadly experiment on rats to determine the effects of chocolate ingredients on their blood vessels. Experimenters force-feed the rats by shoving plastic tubes down their throats and then cut open the rats' legs to expose an artery, which is clamped shut to block blood flow. After the experiment, the animals are killed. Mars has also funded cruel experiments in which mice were fed a candy ingredient and forced to swim in a pool of a water mixed with white paint. The mice had to find a hidden platform to avoid drowning, only to be killed and dissected later on. In yet another experiment supported by Mars, rats were fed cocoa and anesthetized with carbon dioxide so that their blood could be collected by injecting a needle directly into their hearts, which can lead to internal bleeding and other deadly complications.
Click here to find out more about Mars' cruel experiments.
Mars' top competitor, Hershey's, has pledged not to fund or conduct experiments on animals. Other major food corporations—including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Ocean Spray, Welch's, and POM Wonderful—have also publicly ended animal tests after hearing from PETA.

What was your funniest, weirdest or most dishonest internet meeting like?
Posted:
10/28/2007 9:43:56 AM
I had a date with a hobbit.
I was chatting with this guy for the longest time and the pic that he sent me was really nice, but it was a close up. I figured that was a good thing since he had a nice face and figured taht he wasn't hiding anything.
We talked on the phone for a few months and then decided to meet for lunch one day.
Holy God
He showed up - I'm not a tall woman, only 5'2, but he was wayyyy shorter than me. He never once mentioned it and on his profile it said that he was 5'9. I couldn't believe it. Also, when he smiled, there were teeth missing. This guy was about 40 year old, he tells me that he got jumped by some kids and they knocked his teeth out... I honestly was so mad that I wanted to cry.
I haven't met anybody since..lol

You start using the method discussed in "The Secret" to get shit done by using the power of your mind and suggestion to the universe:
"my house is clean"
"the kids are fed"
"I'm totally thin"
"I just had sex with my husband"
"The lawn is mowed"
I pray that it starts giving back soon - my kids are getting hungry!
I'd hate to have to put down my doritos to do any of the above things!

Homeless people in your city?
Posted:
9/21/2007 3:36:20 PM
The other day this kid (maybe 20 years old) came up to my car and told me that he was starving and is trying to get back to his hometown in BC. I was really captivated by this kid and wished that I could do something for him. I got him some dinner and then I offered to pay for a bus ticket for him to get home. I spent about two hours with him when he told me that all that he would need is another $20 to get home. I gave him $50 thinking that it was a long ride and he may need something to eat along the way.
Two days later, I saw him sleeping in the pourch of a local bank. I asked him why he didn't go home and he told me that he found a part time job. Still.. why wouldn't you go home if it meant sleeping on a dirty floor in a bank?
Sometimes you want to help people, but you just can't be sure if what they're telling you is the truth. I'm not sure if I believe this kid or not.
This happened in Red Deer by the way

If you were actually being serious, we'd be VERY concerned about your grip on reality!!
To say that you don't think B.O. is mean-spirited shows a fundamental failure to grasp the meaning of the phrase.
To say that B.O. is "not so good with debate." is, to say the least, a huge understatement!! Kind of like saying a rock is not so good with swimming.
Grog:
I think that you are doing the very thing that you were complaining about. Being opinionated and one sided isn't okay for Bill O'Reilly, but it's okay for you?
I'm not sure how you can find anybody meanspirited that speaks up for the little guy. He always does - sure he goes too far sometimes, but he is a great advocate for many people - in particular victims of child molesters. He's doing a great service by victims and their families - how could anybody give him a hard time for that?

- How about we just keep the topic to the seals and the seal hunt for now everybody. Smak has gotten his 15 minutes of fame. We're just keeping it going and getting wayyyy off topic.
If anybody else would like to lynch him, I would suggest sending him a personal email and duke it out there.

Canada's Disgusting Seal Pup Hunt
Posted:

P.S. Why isn't anyone talking about all the seals that will/are drowning due to lack of ice in the gulf because of global warming
Great point Newfiegrrl. I wonder the same myself sometimes. I saw a news clip a few weeks ago about how the polar bears are having to swim more and more because of melting ice. Really makes you feel like a failure as a human being when you see what we are doing to the environment in order to grow food faster in the south, polute the air to produce gas and more pots and pans in Hamilton.. sad state.
it's clear that Newfies aren't that funny, they crack the same joke over and over about flipper pie, all while the rest of Canada isn't laughing at their jokes, we're laughing at them and the welfare state they call a province.
Many times, I have agreed with you Smack. This time, I will call you nothing short of a racist. You are so dead set on winning an arguement that you will spew racist remarks, thinking that you will get ahead. It's disgusting. I guess that you've been reading a little too much Wente these days.
I've never made a crack about flipper pie. I lived in Newfoundland - my parents were originally Newfoundlanders and so were the grandparents that I am so proud of. All of whom are hard workers holding positions in government and civil service. I have no shame about Newfoundland. I only have shame for people who cast judgement without even knowing a thing about what they are talking about.
Newfoundland laughs because it's the best medicine. We've given everything to Canada and gotten nothing but bitterness and exclusion in return. The province is far from a welfare state. Almost everybody there works - some are on welfare, true - but so are millions in Ontario and the rest of Canada. Picking a few people and making a broad generalization about an entire group really makes you sound uneducated.

My fault for getting off topic. It's a peeve of mine. If people want to make statements such as "and all this time, soldiers are dying in Iraq" - they should skoot on over to the Iraq thread. I do not have issues with soldiers that are Canadians who are over there - it just has NOTHING to do with this thread.
World issue? I disagree - but to those who want to talk about it - go to the Iraq thread and discuss it. I do not care to read it here in a thread about seals and the seal hunt.
Can we carry on now or will we devote another two pages to this bullshit?

"meanwhile, over in Iraq, the killing goes on."
okay.. *pet peeve alert* - how many times has this exact quote been made in this thread? lol.
I'm not American. I'm not concerned with that. I'm concerned with this topic... otherwise I would be over on the Iraq thread.
Why must Americans make everything about themselves and the war? There are people here from every country on earth. sheesh. POF is not just for Americans.
Sorry in advance. You may be a lovely person, but this is not the first time that I've seen this come up in this and many other threads. It has nothing to do with the topic.

Canada ban on Perfumes
Posted:

I worked at a children's hospital for many years, and purfume was banned there. It gives a lot of people asthma attacks and migranes. There was a huge poster of scents that were not allowed. No scented deoderant, purfume, cologne, hair spray or scented products...
I remember thinking to myself... Why did nobody ever mention that this stuff bothered them before I saw this poster. I think that people have just taken a cause and run with it.. uh-gain.
I'm sure that there were people who were affected by it, but common.. other than the occassional hooker that you'd pass by who was drenched in the stuff.. did it really bother us that much?

It's unfortunate that a few make it bad for everybody else. I've walked past some people and felt the purfure go down my lungs. It's awful.

How can we regain control of these systems and make them reasonable as the once were?
My only suggestion is stop allowing right wing governments in..lol. The more left you go, the more is covered under health care.

Actually, seal fur is awful. It's hard and rigid. Supposedly though, it's one of the warmest furs that you could wear and it repels snow and rain very well. You won't ruin it if you get it wet. A lot of places in th world make hats, mittens, boots and coats from it for this reason.

I personally think that the punishment for any sexual crime against a minor should be that the guilty party is handed back to the family for sentencing..lol. That would make the ****ers think twice.

^ That's my problem with the whole protest Churpy. All action without even knowing what the cause is.
Greenpeace has made it fashionable to protest the seal hunt. Don't get me wrong, most people - myself included - is against unethical treatment of animals, but the problem lies with the propaguanda that is being slung.
For example: The cute baby seal with the doe eyes on their website with the caption "Stop the killing of baby seal pups". It has been illegal to kill babies for years. Still, they have to sway the media. If they were honest and gave an accurate image of what really goes on, most people wouldn't care as much.
I think that there should be a thread that demands the truth from these organizations. We throw our money at them and help them with whatever cause they have and they lie to us in return.

Oh, for the love of GOD! If you all read back 70+ pages, you will see that all of this has been hashed, rehashed, rehashed and then rehashed again. Nobody is going to agree. There is no one thing that either side can say that will sway the other.
Personally, I feel that there's too much bull being slung from both sides. Greenpeace are complete liars and Newfoundlanders are protective of what they feel belongs to them. What can we do? There is no one answer.. you're all wasting your time. I tell you this from experience.
I'm just going to sit back and wait for Heather's leg to fall off on Dancing with the Stars. It's the least of what she deserves after what she did last year..lol. Talk about a fool.
<div class='quote'>CHARLOTTETOWN, Prince Edward Island (AP) -- Opponents of Canada's seal hunt have a powerful ally in their bid to end the annual slaughter: Paul McCartney, who took to the ice floes Thursday and frolicked with the doe-eyed pups just weeks before the harvest gets under way.
Yeah, and when Danny Williams invited him to come to Newfoundland on national television, he thought that he was in Newfoundland..lol. Also, he had one of those cute little seal pups take a snap at him
