I wouldn't advise them to look to our First Lady as a model, unless aloof resentfulness is a personality characteristic employers are looking for these days.
I don't see her that way at all. Why do you? And would you prefer Laura with her complete lack of involvement?

One afternoon, lounging by the pool--I witnessed Trixie annihilate oreos by ripping them apart, and sucking out their insides, then tossing the crunchy cookie goodness back in the box.
What would happen if the Girl Scouts started making shoe-shapped cookies?
I still have nightmares.
I know. Maybe I'll wear a bag next time. Sigh.

And we have enough uranium to fuel them for hundreds of years.
Are you aware of the current uranium shortage? It's one of the reasons the AFNR's are so attractive. Yes, we do need to build thermal neutron reactors right now. But we should be looking for better solutions than reactors designs that are half a century old.

Perhaps the newer reactor designs are safer and produce less waste.
I'd like to see some development of the Advanced Fast Neutron Reactor. It can use the waste from the current termal neutron reactors as fuel and its waste would only need 300 years of storage. There's also been some work on using superconducting transmission lines that combine electric transport with liquid hydrogen transport. Using these for transmission would allow putting the reactors away from population centers.

So anyone interested in purchasing toxic assets here

Adam asked, "But, why did you make her so stupid?" God replied, "So that she would love you."

Why do guys post pics of themselves with other woman on a singles site?
Posted:

Who cares if a guy takes a pic with his bike, or his dog, or climbing a mountain... or drinking a beer?... same with women?
Because it just might say something about the person's personality and judgment. But I'm not one for advocating absolute rules; exceptions can be fun.
But how can you judge something you only think you know?
We do that all the time in life. How could we not?

Definition from Webster's:
1 : the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement
2 : material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement
3 : the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction
Did you notice that
none
of those definitions include nudity? If not, why not?
I guarantee that these girls didn't take these picture with artistic intentions.
They wanted to tease their boyfriends. Is that something they should be prosecuted for? I sure don't think so.

Its up to the parents now and the attorneys to involve the minors in what is going on and each step that is taken.
In other words the only people that will "win" this are the lawyers.
And they need to know why it was very wrong for the ladies to be taking nude pictures of themselves.
Am I the only one thinking they were very likely to be having
sex

The most effective deterrent to tobacco smoking has been to ban it in public places and attach a social stigma.
I've heard that pricing (i.e. taxes) has been effective with teens. I'll have to dig up a cite.

In Dallas, in 1983, part of their “Blue Law” prohibited the sale of feminine products on Sunday. When I took a peek at the state of Texas just now…it did not mention it. However, my roommates sister was a D County detective at the time and they were enforcing it.
It looks like that law when away two years later:

That might get them there. But there's still that part about having to actually do the voting...and do it right. Perhaps this is what would happen when confronted with a voting machine:

California already has a November 09 ballot for the legalization of recreational marijuana use. This ballot is likely to pass based on the state’s enormous population of pot smokers.
We tried something like that in the 70's; it didn't pass. So why do you think California has enough pot smokers to pass it this time? And how many of them remember to vote?

Or this one, ha ha (on a different site guys) .... had a big black circle over the woman's face and it was clearly a formal dance type date picture. OMG What a dweeb.
I have to wonder if that person even thought about what kind of image he was projecting with that photo. Sigh.
women who are so insecure in themselves that they look at a man with a woman in his picture and automatically assume that he's not to be trusted.
I think you're missing the point. It's not about the women being insecure; it's about doing a poor job of presenting oneself. Having a group shot that leaves the viewer guessing which person is which has the same problem.

Oh, that's just great. The lives of sex young people are ruined because of some silly pictures.
Well, that goes to show you how much parenting is being done in our public schools.
No, it goes to show you how stupid some DA's can be. Prosecuting six teens for child porn because the girls sent nude pictures is just absurd.
You might want to add the homework (ridalyn) pill

Calling on all physics majors to answer a question about Dark Energy
Posted:

I think Dark Energy and Dark Matter is a pretty lame way of trying to figure out how the universe is doing what it's doing.
Lame? So far nobody has come up with anything better to explain the observations.
They call it "dark" because it can't be seen, nor measured.
The effects of dark matter
can
be seen. That's why we're talking about it.
I also think it's rather illogical to assume that space can expand or contract
Logic is how we got the concept. So how can it be "illogical"?
Space is space, it just is.
I think you'll find that "it just is" isn't going to get you very far.
I've developed a theory
Sigh.

he neutral pion is it's own anti-particle.
And the more mundane photo is also its own anti-pariticle.
Dark matter is matter that desn't interact with other matter except through it's gravitational field.
Perhaps it would be better to say that dark matter doesn't partake in electromagnetic interections.

That only takes about 12 hours of lessons. The weird thing is suddenly having the instructor get out of the plane and say "give me three good landings". One usually isn't expecting to solo on the day it happens. Oh, yes, the plane doesn't feel or sound the same without that guy sitting in the seat to your right. That ups the

Oh, yes.
How is that possible? How can you miss someone you never saw or touched?

And as such, as Catholicism and others, et al, yadda yadda, do not recognized marriage for same sex
Nobody is asking them to. What is being asked is that they leave others alone and let them decide such issues for themselves. Instead we have religious groups imposing their beliefs on the rest of society.
somewhere along the way the secular world has come to feel that they now "own" the term and there is confusion
Nobody
owns the term.
confusion to the point that fitting together two of the same shaped puzzle pieces even seems inarguably correct
How the "pieces" fit isn't any of your business. If you don't like gay marriage, don't get one. But leave other people to their own beliefs; imposing your beliefs is arrogant at best.
