Legalization or Decriminalization?

I agree the big politicians don't care that much at all. bush is just a puppet for the oil cartels. health care in this country needs to be totally revamped and liberated from the white collar extortion that is going on. I had a sore throat had to go to dr for an rx. in many countries i could have just gone and bought the penicillin for 5 bucks at a pharmacy. same deal with those who suffer chronic pain.

Card_board and people taxing it by licensing users seems to me to be the appropriate solution. I aslo feel we should do that with alcohol and other things.

T Y CHUCK I thought I found the ideal mate with my last ex but I just couldnt take 2-3 packs of smokes every day. She was affectionate and sexy but the butt sucking drove me nutz and I nagged her til I drove her out. She was spending $200-$300 a month on butts alone. I have not that big an income to afford that either. So its back to the singles lines.

Sum 1 Dennis Peron who lead the medical pot movement did so as a Republican. The mechanism we need for legalization is to license people to use things. Make them take a class in the dangers and pitfalls of a substance and then give them a license to use for a fee. If they screw up and act irresposibly then yank the license and subject them to criminal procedures just like we do with cars. We should do this with alcohol and most other recreational drugs too. I feel that this would get a lot of winos off the streets and out of our hair yet allow the people who enjoy their booze responsibly to have thier way too. This has to be done with responsibility in mind. I think we should also follow a policy of zero tolerance for driving or doing other highly dangerous or responsible behaviors while intoxicated. I've been the victim of idiots behind the wheel twice in my life. In both cases they were clearly at fault. The insurance coverage is a joke. The medical establishment has adjusted itself to suck that up in a heartbeat. Yet when I try to get relief from the suffering they caused me I'm a scumbag junkie. OH NO NO I DONT THINK SO. America has big love affair with the car. We glorify it but even under the best of conditions they are noise dirty polluting dangerous things. Aside from the criminal stigma and repercissions of drug use I know of hundreds of people who have suffered injuries from cars for every one whose has been injured by the drugs themselves. Think about it and take inventory. How many people do u know hurt by cars? How many hurt by just the drugs themselves? Why not have a war on cars. Because we love them. We love the freedom to roam they give us more then we care about the hardships they cause. Look at the lengths we go to accomodate them. They have become a sort of national status symbol. We superfically assume the more expensive the more horse power the more exotic they are the higher the social status of the owner. The Parade magazine survey dramatically indicates the will of the people for legalization. The politicians must start representing the will of the people or they will be commiting political suicide. People just don't know how to go about it. That's why I am an advocate of licensing people to use things like alcohol, pot, etc. That way freedom of choice is served but responsibility can be preserved. It would be a way of eliminating the f***ups
while preserving the freedom of responsible people.

I too am disabled with a "hidden" disabilties and limited mobility for 36 yrs now due to an car making a left turn into me while riding my motorcycle back in 1970. In 97 I was in a wheel chair for almost 2 yrs after an accident by a person who hit me while I was in a crosswalk. That severely agrevated my condition. I managed to get myself out of wheel chair. I walk with a severe limp and can only be on my feet a couple of hours a day. In general I would have to say that women and society do not generally take to the disabled. Superficially they say they don't discriminate but in reality they do. When I was in the chair I got a lot of shallow sympathy but no one was really willing to make a commitment to me. I was with one lady but she started running around and cheating on me. She was bipolar and used that as her excuse. Since then i've only had one other relationship but she was BP also and a very heavy smoker so we both mutually agreed to break up. She loved her cigs more than she loved me. I was married early on and my ex wife was also quit abusive. I quote " You are supposed to be my servant. The disabled have to learn thier place in society." She was actually quit a monster. She was arrested twice for child abuse/endangerment and she too cheated on me and i ended our relationship all together when she tried to get me murdered. I've come to the conclusion that to be crippled is to be the subject of ostricization in general. Even members of my own family have abused me. My father and sister have both done horrible things to me. They seem to think that you can cure a problem rooted in pain and suffering by increasing the pain and suffering. I get dissed a lot by bullies and such but nowhere along the line has any ever even inquired about the individuals who injured me. They should be the ones who have put up with all the sh*t, not me. You got to keep the faith bro and keep on trukin bro. I believe that eventually some day I will find ms right and i'm sure u will too. You sound like an intelligent nice person and next to our gonads the brain is the most important sex organ.

Once I am involved in a relationship that has progressed to sexual intercourse I have never swayed or cheated on any of my partners. But there have been at several women I have been involved with who have cheated on me. The water flows both ways when it comes to this subject. You need to get your sleazeball radar up and working honey.

I posted this info on another thread but it needs to be here too.
Did you know that the prohibition of alcohol in the 20's cost the gov $300 milion dollars to enforce and cost the country overall 11 billion dollars in revenue. I've forgotten how many people were prosecuted and incarcerated for alcohol but the figure was staggering and the jails were filled and over burdoned with those people much like the situation today. It sucks. In 1996 there was a survey in the Parade national newspaper magazine something like 78% said yest to medical pot and over around 60 somthing percent said yes to total legalization. This is an issue we have to resolve.

u r right marley. I just felt that it need needs to be clearly stated and defined that keeping things illegel is most important and beneficial to the drug dealers themselves. Without the black market they and the easy money are lost. There are also many other reasons. Funny g and Blu Please don't mistake my intentions . I am not saying ostracize BP people. Just be very careful.
[qoute]Jeez...not worthy of a reply, but I have to express that I'm just disappointed to realize people really think like this.
You keep it shallow. That's the best thing for you. Better yet, just stay away from them. They don't need your narrow minded "opinions" in their lives.[/qoute]
I said it depends on the person. By keeping it shallow I meant just friends with no commitments. My father was BP and one of my sisters is. My dad died from litium poisening at 81. Befeore he went he had put us all through hell at various times. He wa a severe alcoholic and heavy smoker. He drove us into bankruptcy. My mother had to "wear the pants in the family" in order for us to survive when i was young. The only way my mom was able to cope was because she was a Psych tech at the V.A.. In fact she worked the same station as Nurse Ratchett that Ken Kesey wrote about in One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. He developed several cancers and lost a lot of wieght. The dr never adjusted the litium intake for the weight loss and it built up in his system. Eventually it sent his kidneys into overdrive and he became dehydrated and dillusional. He had me arrested by making a false report to the police when I went to help him. He destroyed my home computer and my laptop. Said computers violated his civil rights. He tried to also have my bro and sisters arrested also. By then the cops knew he was wack and didn't arrest them but they did prevent them from visiting him.
My sister who is BP has never been able to maintain a relationship with any one for more than a year except for her first husband. That lasted for 9 yrs but he bailed too after she drove them into bankrupcy and because of her violent fits and drinking. She is also a severe alcoholic. She also has no long term friends. She is a jr high drop out and has lied her way into a bunch of high paying jobs all of which she was fired from within a year or two and in several cases a couple of months. One company she cost a $48,000 loss in 2 months. When my dad died she got my mum who now has Alzheimers to sign over a power of atty to her and pissed her way thru my parents $25,000 life savings in about 7 months and put my mum in arest home with a broken hip. My bro and me are in legal proceeding to have the power of atty removed and a state conservator appointed. I curently have a restraining order against her because she batters me at will when she is drunk.
I've had 2 relationships with BP women and they both were very hurtfull for me because of the inappripriate behavior. A lot of manipulation and con games, one took me for $1200. There was infidelity also. It's funny both of them were the best sexual partners I have ever had.
MY my first and only wife was arrested twice for childabuse/endangerment. We divorced in 1987 but I made the mistake of getting back together in 88. In 1991 she conspired with a street gang of rascist pcp dealers and other rascists to get me murdered so she could seduce and run off with our wealthy landlord. I have a large scar on my forehead from that attempt. When that didn't work, cause he (theLL) didnt want her, she had the hutzpah to try and get back with me. NO WAY!!!! I severed all reltionship with her at that time and remained celebate for 8 yrs. She was diagnosed a BP by one shrink and anti social of borderline psychotic proportions with underlying paranoid schizo tendencies by another. They both recomended further testing and treatment but she refused to co-operate.
All of the BP's above except my ex wife copped to the excuse it's my disease.
PS. My self and my bro and other sister have all been checked out are are not BP.
PPS Enough about my dysfunctional family any mentally stable ladies want to party?

Would u date a woman who listed sex as a hobby? I saw the question about a guy who listed sex as a hobby and felt the male counterpart needed to be heard from. I am fairly traditional and would not date a woman who was promiscuous. If she was monogamous and into sex as a hobby yes.

Are drug dealers the ones who want to keep drugs illegal the most? In almost all cases drugs are relatively worthless by themselves. The only thing that gives them thier value is thier illegality. I mean really, growing pot is hardly more difficult then growing corn and should cost similar. So wouldn't it be in the interests of dope dealers to keep it illegal the most?

Most frequently people use thier bipolarity as an excuse fior justifying inappropriate behavior. it all depends on the person and your ability to put up with sh*t. I wouldn't do it unless I intended to keep the relatioship shallow with no strings.

How can I turn an old frienship into a passionate love affair? I've known this woman for 30+ yrs and we have a very close but platonic relatationship. She is in a relationship but very unhappy, depressed and even talks about suicide at times. The jerk she is with has cheated on her. She has just started seeing a shrink. She doesn't want to leave the creep because it would be her third divorce and her family and the shrink and the creep are against it. I'm thinking I would like to become her lover. I am afriad to make any moves on her because i don't want to ruin the deep friendship we have. How can I get her to dump the jerk and shift gears from a platonic relationship to a passionate love?

street musicians and buskers???
Posted:

I just found out that in Hawaii they tried to make a law restricting buskers, when and where they performed. Some people took them to court and the law was declared unconstitutional and thrown out. There are a couple of other places that have tried to make such laws and they almost always get thrown out. I also also heard Boston requires licenses to from the Police to perform but they are repealing that because the people want the romance and entergtainment we bring and are threatening to take them to court. Do you know of any places that outlaw or unreasonably regulate busking and street performers? I'd like to know so I can put them on my places to boycott list.

Legalization or Decriminalization?
Posted:
10/25/2005 12:50:40 PM
Drug laws are mainly a way of enslaving and ostricizing the sick and disabled in our society. Who uses drugs the most? The sick and the disabled do. They are cowardly attack on the weakest of individuals. There were no drug laws in the US until after the civil war. There were large masses of injured people and they turned to drugs for relief. There were lot of deaths due to these injuries. Many of the slave owners were the elite dr's and lawyers etc. When they lost their slaves they had to try and recoup thier loses. They put forth the idea that the common man wasn't capable of taking care of himself and that they required the oversite of doctors. Thusly they created a situation that the people should have to submit to a sort of white collar extortion by the medical establishment. If you didn't submit to it you paid penance to the legal establishment. There are a lot of situations in which one doesnt need a doctor to fix what the problem is, especially with those who have chronic conditions. The marijauna laws of 36 were put in place in part by rascism and as a backlash of the failed prohibition of the alcohol in the 20's. Most of the population that used hemp in those times were black and latino. As far as I am concerned rascism is one of the stupidest beliefs one can have. You also had a bunch of out of work prohibitionist looking for new prey. I don't understand how any of these prohibition laws facilitate in any way, shape or fashion people's rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Legalize through licensure. As long as one can abide by societies general rules they should be allowed to do what they want or need to do. Make people pass a test showing they know about alcohol or the drug of choice. What the dangers and pitfalls may be and how to use them safely and responsibly. There should be no tolorance of things like dui and irresponsible behavior. If they screw up repeatedly while using pull thier license and then subject the person to some degree of criminal restraint. Excluding the legal stigma of criminality, personally I know of several hundred people who have been hurt by automobiles for every single person who has actually been hurt by drugs themselves. Yet we as a society embrace and glorify automobiles. To me they are one of societies truest hidden evils. Why not have a war on cars?

Musicsweetmusic Toronto does have a busker festival. The last one was at the end of August and the proceeds went to help epilepsy patients. It was on Front St. in the St. Lawrence Market area of town. I've never been to toronto but may try and hit up next years festival. If anyone else knows of busking festivals or such let us know who the promoters are and how to hook up. I have been talking to some people and I may try and organize a busker fest in the Silicon valley area. Any one who wants to get involved is invited.

I didn't say that all vets were rascist. but non the less i have had my experiences and those rascist were all vets and bonded together by that communal relationship. the thing that got me the most was the extent of the rascism in the law enforcement community. when i tried to speak out against it they used the authority of thier position to try to oppress and discredit me.

street musicians and buskers???

I busk for the love of music and money plus I also get a vicarious thrill out of making people happy. when i see 2 lovers strolling, smooching and swaying to the music, i know i've done my job . it used to be that i would be approached several time a year and told that i made the mood so romantic that the some one proposed marriage. i tell them that they shouldn't do it because of the romantic moment but they should do it because of true love. i think part of the problem is there are so many homeless lately that people don't differentiate between a legit musician and some wino panhandler. just because some drunk has a bongo or guitar it doesn't make him a musician. in order to perform on the streets i feel one has to have a repertoire large enough to sustain 2 or 3 hrs of play with no repeats. what do u all think??

Have the ww2 pacific, korean and vietnam wars created a climate of anti asian rascism in America?

I am a white man who was once married to an asian woman. As such I was the victim of anti asian rascim by many people. In fact I was the victim of an attempted murder by one of those bigots and have also been vicimized by rascist law enforcement officials. Usually they were people retired from the armed forces. All of the people involved in that hellish chapter of my life were ex vets.

YYyyouuuwwwwzzzaaaaa I had a busking first this wednsday. I got flashed. It's never happened to me before ever. That silly woman cracked me up. I blew the tune i was workin on. It seemed like she was high or drunk. She just stopped walking by while I was playin and was giggling and laughing. She then turned to me and lifted her red sweater up flashed old saggies at me and laughed like crazy. Then she walked off. Three other people saw it and were pointing at her. It totally blew my mind.

IS THE WAR ON DRUGS RESPONSIBLE FOR SO MANY HOMELESS AND INFLATION???

lately i have been asking the homeless i see whether the feel the war on drugs is responsible for their plight. many agree that it is at least in part responsible. many of them are physically or mentally disabled. they overwhelmingly feel they are ostricized.

rswindle i went to a few of those gigs back in the 60's. they called them be ins. i actually shared hits off a bottle of southern comfort with janice joplin and some hells angels and a few of my friends at one of those concerts at san jose's bee stadium. pictures of that concert are in some book about janice. back then the hells angels might even rough you up and make an attitude adjustment or two if you didn't contribute when the hat was passed. that vwasnt too cool either.

danielle i reiterate u may possibly be just a disrespectful moron. first off your attitudes are rooted in slander and defamation. these are crimes known as tortes. these are crimes which are not serious enough to get u in jail but you could theoretically be sued for talking such trash about people. your attitudes are as stupid as racism or sexism. you capriciously lump street performers in with the homeless. street performing is an art form that dates back to antiquity. before the advent of personal electronics it was the main form of employment for musicians. there were no radios mp3's cd's or tapes etc.. IT WAS LIVE OR IT WAS NOTHING. it was called minstrelcy in the 1800's. minstrels, troubadours, mariachis, etc all evoke romantic images. thanks to cultural vandals like u the art form is being snuffed out. when a person makes music he is creating an intangeble and intellectual product. when you don't pay him for his work creating music you are like a music thief. not serious enough to be actionable, just rude and uncouth. i personally know about a hundred buskers and none of them live in a box or don't shower blah blah. out of that hundred or so only 2 of them have addictive personalities and are obsessed by alcohol and drugs. their obsession with these things got them busted several times and has pretty much ruined their carreers as buskers. kinda like the rest of society, hey? the rest are pretty much normal people with extraordinary talents. they wouldn't be making money if they werent good. i know this to be a fact. i am human and just like everybody else i have my good days and my bad days. when i play poorly the take is usually less. thats just the way it is.
also i know what you folks mean when you say you don't listen to much music. its like i got a perpetual jukebox goin on in my head. i only listen to radio or cd's about an hour a day. also i had put together a recording and midi studio on my 'puter but it was destroyed my father who was suffering from dimentia. he hated my busking and said computers violated his civil rights??? also i do work an occasional restuaraunt or club but prefer the street performing cause i set the hours when and where of it. .

dan quixote ur thinkin what im thinkin u 2 wonkavision. this and much more. the war on drugs is really a way of ostricizing enslaving the sick and the disabled after all it is they who use drugs the most.drug laws didn't exist til after the civil war when the rich dr.s and lawyers lost their slaves. they had to figure out a way to recoup their losses. now days we our subjected to the white collar extortion of the medical establishment just to treat our selves for the simplest of things. now don't get me wrong. it would be a fool who didn't go to a doctor if he needed one, but some things u just shouldn't have to go to a dr for. especially people who suffer from things like chronic pain. we need to re write our laws ato license the use of drugs by individuals. if the screw up then they loose the license. this should be with alcohol too.

NOROLIM I too started doing xmas carols and classical. They did the same thing to me when I was working. GET A JOB ha I'd get up at 6:30 am go to work as a travel agent get done at 4;30 and go out and busk by 5:30 it would frquently be 11pm or midnight when i got done. it was very frustrating. but if the money was there it was worth it. now days i can frequently perform flawlessly only to recieve flawlessly haughty ignorance. it is like the forest gump attitude rules. hoorayy for morons. never underestimate the power of large groups of stupid people.
