OK, once you get rid of the filler, the things you don’t like or won’t do, here is what is left of your profile. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm a big fan of the "great indoors". I am an interesting person capable of quality conversation, especially in the right company. My ideal evening is a night in with my best friends. These usually include my roommate, xbox, and dvr. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not really much for a lady to get interested in. You need to step it up a bit if you want a date.

The age restriction is a killer for you. First thing is that those young girls are not likely to be interested in a 30 year old guy and it turns off those ladies in your age group. Since you are not being inundated with email, why restrict it at all? What kind of initial email are you sending? That makes a big difference on your response rate.

There are some reviewers that will essentially rewrite your profile for you. I do not believe that is an appropriate procedure. It makes the profile a lie, in my opinion. I give pointers and indications of how people can help themselves. If they wish to brush me off and or denigrate my comments so be it. No skin off my nose. After reading the comments you have gotten and the profile writing tips, you know what needs to be done to get dates. I get lots of them, you can too if you follow the advice you have gotten. You smoke, that kills about 80% of your chances. You have no photo that is recognizable that kills most of your other chances. Your profile is not good. I think that pretty well kills off all your chances. Get some good photos at least one close-up well lit with a bright smile and one full body shot. Read the profile writing tips at the top of the first page. Do a re-write and come back for some pointers. VVVVV Majic, you are being so nice today, are you sick? What happened?

Your main photo really makes you look a lot older than you are. Get new ones at least one close-up for you primary. Email filter set to 9 years younger can be a turn off to the ladies. You might want to just eliminate that. I am quite sure that you will not be inundated with email from lots of young chicks and it avoids the bad press of looking for those much younger. Are you sure that you want to say that you are a U of M fan after two years with no bowl game??? Sure hope they do better next year!! Ron

Your “about me” section lacks much meat. The ladies will want to know a bit more about who you are. Hair – I think that balding and graying would be the proper terms. Need to change mine to graying also I think. Body type – a few extra seems to be the case. Interests – you could add a few more that can be shared with your lady, but not bad as is. Ron

I agree with Cheryl, I find that a profile visit is kind of like a flirt, it generally says the lady found you attractive. I get about a 50% response rate on messages that I send to those ladies. Let us know what kind of messages you are sending. That makes a big difference on your response rate!! Ron

Any photo that does not include you could be deleted by the mods if they happen to notice. That does not seem to happen often so not much of a worry. Profession – need to list one. “about me” – not bad but a bit light, add a bit more meat! No damn way you get me to jump out of a perfectly functioning airplane!!! Good luck Ron

I am not real sure why, but I came away from your profile with a negative impression, it might be how you start off. “Hi, well I am here to find a companion, not necessarily a lover. I have been seperated for 18mths and am missing a bit of male companionship.” Most guys on here want to find a lover, so saying that you are not will not help you. The fact that you have been separated for 18 months, says there is lots of baggage You are looking for a guy 7 years younger but not more than 3 years older. That will likely cause you a problem. You need better photos, neither is real good but the one in the red hat makes you look much older than 42.

Ten years younger but only two years older, that is almost surely a killer for you. The ladies see that as very shallow. Better off to drop both limits. The shades on photo is against site rules and does not help you, the ladies want to see your eyes. All the best Ron

OK, I was wondering if English was your second language. Since it is I will do a few things for you. This will not be a re-write but a simple clean up of what you already have. “Interests” – Live Bands, Dancing, Music, Fishing You should add a few more of those that can be done as a couple. “about me” - I am down to earth! Have a good sense of humor, and I do like a good laugh, don’t like to do the same thing all the time, I do like to go out now and then have fun and I love to dance, and I do like doing things at home, but I also like, animals, nature, home, garden forests and flowers. I am open mined and will talk about any thing and every thing, music I like a bit of every thing, I would rather live on a property, or any thing with a bit of space, than live in a city among the concrete and car fumes...I like to do fun and exciting things, I am not a lazy person, rather be doing some thing then nothing, even chilling out with a DVD on the big screen is great, First date – “I guess for a first date it be would nice to have a chat over a coffee at a nice coffee shop, or drink at the pub where there is nice music to dance to. You really did a great job on this, thumbs up to you!!! I hope my clean up is of use to you. Ron

Do not do the bikini shot!!! If you are at the beach playing volley ball those are OK but posed they look sluty. You are a good looking lady so you do not need to go there. When sending messages to guys take the same advice that the guys get. Comment on something of interest and ask a question. I get quite a few initial email and always answer them even if I am not interested. Most guys will do the same. Must agree with Lion. Do not just say Hi or something lame like that. Ron

I am not sure what cornhole means to your age group but to mine it means A**hole. Just something to think about. A couple of old adages apply here. The first is “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” this implies the opposite “If it is broke, do fix it” The second is “If you keep doing what you have been doing, do not expect different results” Your profile certainly needs fixing, your personality may have problems as well. You admit that what you are doing is not working so you should clearly see that you need to do something different, if you want different results. Arguing with those giving good advice is not helpful to you!!

The best advice on email restrictions is get rid of the age, gender and distance ones. I have lots of friendly chats with both guys and gals of all ages and locations. As to the choices of “hang out”, “dating” etc. you might try changing that up every couple of weeks. When people do a search, you will show up more often. “Cheryl” PoF does define all those terms it is just that no one actually follows the definitions. All the advice you have been given is good except for that from “Majic”. How can anyone that much into hockey know anything about dating??

You need at least one full body photo and more interests that can be shared with a lady. “about me” Remove the first sentence, your friends will tell you anything, we want to know what you think! Run it through spell and grammar check. You need spaces after periods, commas etc. many words need to be capitalized. Be aware that few ladies will hit you up but in any case they know what to do so no need for that comment. Good luck Ron

You need better photos. You list athletic as your body type but your photos show a few extra pounds. Your interests are generally bad at best. Your about me and first date sections are terrible. Are you really wondering why you get no responses??? If so, read the profile writing tips at the top of the first page.
