Ever date someone with BPD? (Borderline Personality Disorder)
Posted: 8/27/2008 6:25:29 AM | yes I did. At first I didnt know, he seemed extreemely loving, caring and attentive. But aftera while the "attentiveness" led to controlling. He would get really really upset with me if I was not paying attention or including him in everything I did from the second he came home. If I happened to be on the phone when he came in I was accused of having" affairs, everyone else is more important thank I am , there's never any time for ME anymore" (which are all distortions). These people distort realisty and they distort what real love is. It got really bad and he started drinking heavily. I did NOT know it, but he had had a drinking problem, kept it in check for almost 3 years. As soon as we were married - it all went haywire. He then became verbally and physically abusive. When he chased me and tried to hit me head on I got a restraining order and that was the last day i spoke with him. We were divorced that same year we were married. He refused any help whatsoever.
If you are in this relationship - it could work if the 2 of you went to counseling and he went on his own also. But if not - GET OUT!~ | | | |
