~WHY DO MEN WANT TO PLAY GAMES~
Posted: 10/25/2009 10:36:24 PM
Because DDR is a fun, energetic game, and you're not taking it away from me!

In all seriousness though, it's obviously same reason some women like to play games... well, I've gotten that far in my research anyway. *headscratch*

why do alot of the guys at this site have a problem with dogs?
Posted: 10/21/2009 1:52:14 PM
Can't figure it out, I like dogs. I'm a little scared of the bigger ones so I tend to favor smaller ones a lot more.

Actually, only once did I own a large canine. He ran away a few weeks later, so I kept sticking with smaller pooches ever since. They're easier to manage anyway.

I don't have a problem with cats either.

Are the U.S. public schools really that bad?
Posted: 10/9/2009 9:53:43 AM
Well, I don't know about you, but my high school would do everything they could to limit you socially + a crooked dress code policy just because so many males my age can't keep their pants up and feel the need to show their junk and/or their trunk. I had to get on the internet if I wanted to grow a sense of fashion. I hate small towns, or the deep south rather.

So maybe it was more of the pupils causing the problem rather than the administrators, then again, I've ran into a few teachers who went as far as insulting my intelligence with some nice language whenever I goofed up on a test or a worksheet.

I should have punched one of them in the face at least once...

I'm not subjecting my future kids to something called "TV". They're getting internet with adblock and if they do enough chores (Or when Christmas rolls around), a game console or two. Why? Reality shows suck and, well, the internet is the blasted internet. Think about it.

Why do big cities have the best looking girls?
Posted: 10/7/2009 9:16:36 AM
I have to agree with the OP actually...

One step into a northern city's women certainly beats the obesity of more rural, southern areas. Totally my own experience and opinion. YRMV.

Or maybe it's just Mississippi. God, I hate this place. I found a diamond in the rough though.

Girls - Would you date a guy with bad teeth?
Posted: 10/1/2009 8:33:25 PM
Hey now, I'm living proof that there are SOME girls out there who will date you regardless of hygiene problems, in this case, teeth related. My teeth have always been sub-par for as long as I can remember (Blame my childhood and parents...) and for today, well, I'm still at war with dental insurance and medicare. As for moolah, well, by the time I actually have the money to fully repair my teeth I'll actually be able to own a car.

I've got a million interests that would send most girls running for the hills; on top of that, bad teeth, but I can still find someone. Perhaps I have super powers.

Though having bad teeth was probably the biggest reason I had few/no relationships throughout both middle and high school. But now I can find less close minded people, er, somewhat anyway.

could you live without your tv
Posted: 9/22/2009 9:07:14 AM
I already do.

That's where the internet comes in. I don't want to pay extra bucks just for the boomerang channel or a horror channel. Solution? Internet. I don't even watch the mainstream garbage that's on tv or online now. I've absolutely had it with reality shows. On top of that, you're stuck going by a tv schedule unless your cable provider doesn't charge insane prices for STB with Video-On-Demand.

Occasionally, I'll flip on the set to watch Fresh Prince, The Weather Channel, local news, or a movie my girlfriend found. Occasionally = once or twice per week.

Living without the internet? Yeah, I could do it, but I would also need months and months of therapy.

Can a person with Asperger's find love and true understanding?
Posted: 9/21/2009 9:36:18 PM
I've got aspergers and well, I do lead a struggling social life yet at the same time, I've been able to actually ask someone out after a few weeks or so. OP, I'm pretty high maintenance as well, but I do everything I can to make up for it as well, doing extensive favors for my partner.

As for getting along with animals, well, let's just say I let my dog watch horror flicks with me now and then. Yeah, we share conversations too; Sue me. I've always had a big attachment to my own pets. If I've had a stressful day, my dog seems to know about it and tries to comfort me.

I once read it's possible to grow out of a few or many autistic symptoms (Staring at washing machines no longer fascinates me and stacking random objects is boring now, but flashy lights and accelerating numbers still put me in a drooling state.. ) Before you say I have epilepsy, I've seen the game Berzerk in action. I survived.

Autism is a bit more than just ADD/ADHD I'm afraid.

For those looking for FRIENDS on POF ~ What is It?
Posted: 9/21/2009 9:11:22 PM
A friend. No sex buddies, no secondary relationships, none of that. A good, ol' friend I can share some popcorn with or go to an arcade with. I live in a lousy town engulfed with elderly people and a couple of thugs so it's natural for me to look for friends online.

I don't do the MySpace and Facebook craze if that's what you're thinking.

Why do people cyber sex
Posted: 9/18/2009 8:30:23 PM

what wrong with some harmless playing between two adult, that may be to far away from each other to be face to face? you'll get no reaction from porn or mags.

no chance of preg
no chance of stds
different strokes for diferent folks

I second this. It offers stimulation, relief, and a bit of fun for yourself and whoever may be on the other side. What if you're partner is on a business trip for a while? What if a disaster prevented you two from living together for a while? Just what if?

Though explaining cyber sex to the unknowing is like explaining calculus to a kid who can't pass basic math. It's like culture shock to some.. You might as well give up until they experience it (If such a thing happens).

Why Its Hard Dating
Posted: 9/18/2009 8:21:27 PM
I'd say ban gender roles but then riots would form and loopholes would be discovered.

It's difficult for me because I'm a geeky kid living in the middle of Redneck-topia. I have standards and one of them excludes slang and southern accents. I'm a bit picky, I know, but it always works out in the end...

Awww, too cute
Posted: 9/18/2009 7:57:38 PM
If you don't like kittens in cowboy boots, it's because you're either too grown up or too boring.

I actually can relate to this thread; In my bedroom I have a few pictures of kittens doing crazy or cute things taped upon my wall. Why? Because I think they're funny; That and most people seemed to like 'em.

When a guy says "cute" three times in one sentense I'd be worried about dating him.

I don't say "cute" 3x per sentence. I say cute, kawaii, and mignon! I'm 100% straight mind you.

What is with all of these girls who want a God Fearing man???
Posted: 9/16/2009 1:42:33 AM
I've got a better idea. Let's change the phrase "God fearing man" into "A man who goes to church every Sunday, Wednesday, and is able to keep his hands out of my pants unless we get married."

I believe in a God and what not, but making me go to church and keeping my pants on is like saying I can't swear. Torture, I tell you!

Still, inexperienced men have it worse than inexperienced women because men are expected to be more assertive and take charge, do the pursuing, and they have to do it the right way, there more ways you can go wrong than ways you can go right.

Amen to that. God, I hate gender roles.

Did I completly screw myself in dating because I don't drink?
Posted: 9/16/2009 1:10:38 AM
OP listed the same reasons I don't engage in drinking..

.. That and I've yet to taste any beer that doesn't make me gag. Call me a sissy, wuss, etc. I don't care.

You don't need to drink in order to find someone special. I don't drink, smoke, understand most pop-culture references, terrible with social cliques, and on top of that, my teeth are in horrid condition because of my childhood and expenses, but I still manage to find someone. It's a bit more difficult, but not impossible.

Posted: 9/12/2009 6:34:55 PM
1. You spoiled me far, far too much.
2. You only let me eat one popcorn kernel at a time. You've got the weight issues; I don't.
3. Out of all the women I've dated, you were the first one who actually decided to get into my pants.
4. You were way too damn smart; You can speak in 4+ languages fluently; I can speak fluently one and struggle in another.
5. In the future, you said you may move to Korea and that I may not go with you.
6. You stole my best friend.. and we haven't been friends again since July of last year. Thanks.
7. You corrected me at every chance you had. I wanted a girlfriend, not a teacher.
8. Dear God, I never understood your sarcasm.
9. We shared so many interests, yet at the same time, you skewed them.
10. One day while we were cuddling, you said you wanted to have kids with another man.

How many of you have DISABLED Microsoft Updates?
Posted: 9/12/2009 3:27:30 PM
SP3 was my last, major update.

WGA is annoying, WMP 11 is too flawed and bulky for my uses even though I ended up installing it anyway, and I've had too many moments in a past where one, measly update would seriously screw up something in XP.

If it isn't broke, I'm not fixing it... because that usually just breaks it.

The only real lack of an update that seriously effected me would be back when I had dial-up and that RPC worm forced my computer to shut down/reboot every time I was online. Several years ago and patched the same day...

I'll update avast, I'll update ipfilter.dat, and I'll update anything else on my system except for Windows itself.

Don't get me wrong, I like XP, but updates can be quite a nuisance now and then.

paying to much for protection?
Posted: 9/11/2009 4:42:40 AM
I apparently jinxed myself with my last post..

Downloaded Avast, disabled Web shield because it's got a bit of a memory leak problem right now and the Outlook shield since I don't use Outlook express. I left everything else alone mind you. Combine that with ad-block plus in Firefox, Spybot, Ad-aware, etc.

I want to disable IE but I heard a lot of stuff is unable to connect if I do so, especially updates if such a thing is done. Blast it.

As for switching to Linux, not all of us want to learn nor switch over to a different OS. They can fun to play with though..

Windows 95... wow.

The oldest PC I have goes back to an AMD 333 MHz CPU and even when it was new it had Windows 98. (My first, own PC actually had a 75 MHz AMD cpu and 8 mb of ram..yeah.. I know.)

Get rid of that thing and enjoy the awesomeness of running a new computer.

May a flying ice cream truck fall from above me if you don't enjoy it.

Wii 9 Times More Reliable than Xbox 360
Posted: 9/4/2009 3:14:05 AM

Hopefully, by then I will have a better TV as well.

Whenever I get back into the modern console race, hopefully I will as well.

I watch and game everything on an ancient, 1985 25 in. Sony Trinitron set (Still in perfect operation).

It outlived my grandma's Durabrand CRT set.. which pretty much made me laugh.

Wii 9 Times More Reliable than Xbox 360
Posted: 9/4/2009 3:03:13 AM

I just sold my Xbox 360 to a neighborhood kid.

I've thought strongly about doing that as well. My 360 is collecting dust but there's not a single scratch, dent, or any type of physical damage on it or the controllers/games I have. The games are still too expensive for my budget and the only games that caught my interest (Barely, I might add) were the little mini arcade games on xbox live like the R-type demo and puzzle games I could easily download onto a PC.. and believe me, my PC is archaic. Ridge Racer 6 seemed somewhat fun, but it still lacked an appeal I found in games that were on other, cheaper consoles. Call me a nostalgic, close-minded idiot if you want.

I hope it doesn't break down on him...

Never had a problem with my console, then again, the only thing I've used it for lately is movie streaming and DVDs.

people in small towns...how do you find dates?
Posted: 9/3/2009 4:07:51 PM
I feel OP's pain here, even though I live in a town of less than 12,000.. I hate it and I still know everyone around my age from high school.. and I can't stand their guts. I also don't do rednecks, so that severely limits who I can date around here.

I haven't relocated either, but I got lucky so I'm going out with someone that lives nearly 30 miles away, soon to be 10 miles away or less after she moves. Lately we've only been able to see each other once or twice per month... though last month (and this moth.. thus far), we weren't able to see each other at all. Hopefully that will come to an end.

Heh, I already saw this coming. I've been using my 360 for nothing but watching DivX videos lately. I just can't find any games that interest me anymore (At least, in this gaming generation era..) except for Guitar Hero, but I also can't justify in a triple-digit
$$$ gaming experience. Hmm.

That's totally irrelevant to the topic though. My 360 hasn't RROD'd on me yet, but I've also had it for less than a year.

High school games, why do some women do this?
Posted: 9/3/2009 3:56:39 PM
Hm, I really should hook up OP with that Linux loving girl in Florida.

Though, I do think that your biggest mistake was trying to get back with people that already left you... 8 times. You just don't do that... you just don't. It's time for someone new! Forget that dastardly trio; they can't handle your awesome geekitude levels. Since you're probably dating women between 18-21 years of age, you're still in the level where most women want to screw you around. Give it time, weed out the bad ones, then you'll find who you're looking for. At least that worked for me.

Or.. maybe focus on your education like some other people said... ?

He'd even do it in supermarket lines, he would raise his leg and shout "excuse me" and laugh. He was an idiot. I told him to grow up when I was four.

Nah, he was just being polite!

If he were being rude, he would have said, "I farted, whoops."

As for me, I usually just chuckle to myself or wait for someone to comment.. then laugh harder.

- Weight (More than 160 lbs..)
- Heavy southern accent
- Being racist
- Cellphone addiction
- Complaints about my burping/flatulence. It's just gas people! You're much more harmed by gasoline fumes. There are just some table manners I'll never understand.
- Infinite supplies of sarcasm.
- Forcing me to attend church.
- Drugs/alcohol
- Abuse of swearing.

I'm very open minded about most things, but don't expect me to have proper table manners unless we're attending some sort of proper convention/dinner.

Is having a car really THAT incredibly important?
Posted: 8/31/2009 5:30:15 PM
Having a car is damn expensive for my budget and quite frankly, I don't want to own one until I've moved out of the area I'm stuck in. Why? Too many bad experiences with the local cops. Not once have I legitimately broke the law, but they'll find any reason to stop me from getting where I need to go. It's bad enough that I live around a bunch of gangsters, do I need cops hassling me too?

"I haven't seen you around here before.. got any ID?" Yeah. I've lived here for 15 years or so. Jesus. What a stupid reason to stop me.

"Well, I'm going to ticket you for not having that dog on a leash." Dog? What dog? The stupid strays that always follow me around? Take him, I don't care.

In this time of society and economy, people have gotten way too attached to the all mighty dollar. Whatever happened to just going outside and staring up at the stars, assuming your city doesn't have a light pollution problem?

Hell, I don't even have a real cellphone. A prepaid one sits on my shelf when I actually need to reach someone here or wherever I am. Otherwise, it's online communication for me. Cheaper anyway, heheh.

Criticizing your significant other's parents
Posted: 8/31/2009 4:20:01 PM
Let's see...

Her mother stole my laptop and refuses to give it back. I think I'm well within right to criticize her.

I have very, very little faith in my parents and family as a whole; Mostly because they're quite racist, sexist, and believe that God himself will give anyone a great job with no effort of actually looking for one. So if you said my dad was a worthless, POS bum, I'd most likely agree with you. I've got nothing against people who criticize my family, but I do like my little sister, the only other geek in the family who lacks the accent and scores straight A's in school...

Maybe it's because I don't understand the true love of real parents, or maybe the fact I'm jealous, but I will rarely and unknowingly criticize another person's parents without acknowledging that the said person cares a lot about them. Does that make me a shallow person in this case? Again, maybe. If a person really wants me to stop talking about their birth givers/care takers, then I shall.

Broke up
Posted: 8/31/2009 4:03:00 PM

i think most girls my age want older guys and i think theres alot of older guys to compete with on an online dating site lol.

I was thinking the same for myself as well. Give it some time and you'll eventually weed out the bad ones.

And ya id like to just find a girl that i can be with and stop having to search

That's actually how I've ended up in one of the longest, greatest relationships I've ever had thus far. Finally, a woman who is assertive about getting things done! Your time will eventually come as well. For someone who joined only a week ago or so, I'm pretty astonished that you got a date so quickly. It took me over a year to get anywhere. It might just be because I live in one of the worst places, IMHO, of the U.S. mind you.

I thought id be with the girl i would want to marry by now xp

Now now, let's not rush marriage, eh? Maybe I play the statistics game too often, but younger marriages often fail rather quickly.. then comes costs, document signing, oh boy.

Oh, and don't let something as short as 3 days get you down! Keep "fishing"!

22, Never had a girlfriend
Posted: 8/31/2009 3:43:45 PM

WHY DOES THE GUY HAVE TO INITIATE EVERYTHING IN DATING AND RELATIONSHIPS????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, WHO OR WHAT MADE IT THE STATUS QUO!?!, WHY DOES THE GUY HAVE TO TAKE THE LEAD? SERIOUSLY, IT SEEMS THAT WOMEN DON'T DO ANYTHING IN RELATIONSHIPS AND DATING, WOMEN ARE JUST ALONG FOR THE RIDE. WHY? IS IT BECAUSE MEN ARE THE MORE DOMINANT, STRONGER SEX?

Typically I'd tell you to calm down after typing in caps lock, but I agree with you.

Don't you just love the sexist society we live in? All of the times I made the first move (Give or take, nearly every relationship I've had except for the most recent) ended up being duds or short lived relationships. I tried to be assertive and kind, but I never got too far. What was I doing wrong? I'm still not sure.

Finally, someone from the OTHER gender makes the first move.. and I'm in a relationship that's lasted close to a year now. That might seem like a week to other people, but considering I've never gotten past 6 months with a girl, that's one, hell of an accomplishment.

That being said, women can definitely be more dominant and stronger in bed than men can.. but the opposite is also true. Go figure.

I'll also go ahead and stereotype with this: Older people/Those who originate from the deep, southern U.S. seem to be more fond of the whole "The man should always dominate in bed" thing. My girlfriend was actually buying snacks for me at a concession stand out of kindness when the clerk scolded me for not paying instead. Sexist swine.

With time comes change. It's inevitable.

What someone does that really turns you on?

Hm. Holding to her promises, wanting to see me sooner than I want to see her, positive aggressiveness (e.g., none of that female gangster nonsense), etc.

In the past, it was my excuse for..

A.) Your weight.. it just.. urgh. It bothers me too much at this point.
B.) Your Naruto obsession has to go.
C.) I'm too poor and you're too rich.

But now days, I just directly blurt out the reason why I'm leaving a said person.

Worst way of being cheated on?????????????????

Probably when my now ex-best friend Kyle and my ex-girlfriend "Ran" invited me to a three-way chat, mentioning she was actually "poly" the whole time we dated, yet she no longer wanted anything to do with me. I didn't even learn about such a thing until that very day. Culture shock? At the time, yes, it was a bit. I'm over it though; that was a year ago.

That was merely the icing on the crap cake; the worst part was finding out she was dating Kyle behind my back. So that's great; I lost my girlfriend and my best friend of.. give or take, 5-6 years?

I HATE Explorer 8!
Posted: 8/28/2009 10:42:33 PM

the only time a single app makes my PC look like a dog is when Firefix is running.

IE makes my system look like a 486 DX on speed, yet Firefox is a different story.

Security isn't at the top of my list, but speed definitely is. As idiotic of a move as that may seem, I haven't caught a browser hijack since 4-5 years ago (and it was through IE).

It isn't about honesty, it's about which browser feels better, faster, and more convenient to the end user. Sure, there are flaws to this, but it all works out in the end for most of us. I still have some people who don't want to leave IE, but that's okay. I personally don't think IE is the worst browser out there, but it's definitely far from the best IMHO.

I stopped using IE before 7 was released. Out of curiosity, I did try out 7 a year ago and it was even slower than IE 6. Then again, my system is archaic (e.g., 1.67 GHz, 768 mb ram) but I haven't found a reason to upgrade just yet. Maybe when Windows 7 becomes more dominant.

Needless to say, I'm probably being stupid arguing with some guy who's a lot more CPU smarter than I am. I don't do M$ patches (Last one I did was SP3), I don't do IE updates, but I occasionally check out my system for potential anomalies. Hell, if I had the patience to learn it and if Linux were more suited for my needs, I'd switch to Ubuntu or something.

I've got nothing against your post, trust me on that, but I feel differently about Firefox and IE. Firefox just has too many features for me to leave it (customizable themes, TCP/IP speed hacks, ad-block plus plugin, etc.).. that is, until some new guy screws it all up. Yeah yeah, I know, I could have used the hosts file edit.. but it doesn't play well with some of my apps.

Why do I usually attract men that I'm not attracted to? Annoying!
