Some good advice here and I think you have made the right decision Gardennut. Bottom line is that meeting you brought him excitement and sparks that had long worn off with his wife. Most new relationships will give a person that excitement. However, more than likely, it will diminish over time and the love for his wife will take precedence over anything you could offer. Glad you decided to move on.

Personally, whether the government is responsible or not, I would never allow my 10 yr old child to walk 2kms to school alone.....and in the knowledge that they can be easily abducted! If I didn't have transportation I'd make it a point to walk my child there every day. I, also, will not hold the school accountable until the child is on their premises.

In situations like this where my conscience is totally clear I would refuse to allow this glorified toilet attendant to speak to me in that manner. I would speak to him in the same manner and humiliate him in front of all the passengers. I would refuse to get reprimanded for being honest.

Agree that it's rude to complete other people's sentences but you must admit, there are some people out there that think and talk sooooooooo slowly that it takes them 10 minutes to say what a normal person would say in 1 minute......and yes, 99% of the time you CAN accurately complete their sentences. Frustration sets in and you end up daydreaming about slapping them on the forehead so that the ball bearing clicks into position thus activating the brain, LOL.

Agree with Simon wholeheartedly. Having travelled all over the world I have friends of all races and religion. Islam teaches tolerance and Jesus is in fact one of their prophets. The problem here is that people are being wrongly taught about their religion by extremists who interpret the religion to suit themselves. Those that complain about the customs and traditions in the UK should be politely, but firmly, told to respect our customs as they wish us to respect theirs.

OK, this has clearly gone off the topic. I think the soundest advice one can give people on here is "don't take this all so personally and seriously". If someone doesn't respond, move on......look at it as her loss if need be. I am quite sure that if you were rejected in real life you wouldn't go chase her and start whining. You have lost absolutely nothing if she hasn't responded, other than a few moments of your free time to type to her in the 1st place. NO BIG DEAL!

The leading cause of divorce isn't marriage. The main reason is that people's interpretation of 'marriage' has changed. The days of 'till death do us part' have long gone. There was a time when divorce wasn't even considered until every avenue for fixing an unstable marriage was explored. Back then even the stigma connected to a divorced woman was frowned upon. Nowadays people go into marriages with the understanding that there's an easy out. If it doesn't work out, I can always get divorced and try again. Today's society won't even bat an eyelid. This is reflected by the increase of divorce lawyers in the US. Since the 60's there has been an increase of over 2000%!!! It has become such a big business that instead of being encouraged to work things out, people will actually be encouraged by these scavengers so that they can get their fee and their cut. For me, the leading cause of divorce is that the concept of marriage itself isn't taken seriously.

I agree Candika.....but don't players come in many forms? As you have experienced first hand, the male players generally tend to look for the sexual thrills, before moving on. In my opinion, the females can be just as bad.....only difference is they are looking for the attention. Something to boost their once non existent self confidence to the extent that they can now move onto the next guy once the original euphoria has worn off. I have read so many posts here about players but they were all so black and white. Never a reason given nor did anyone consider that females could also fall into the same category. Thankfully, this site is better than most when it comes to this since they have censorship rules.

Ok, i stuck this up in another forum before and was hoping this subject may provoke us into having a constructive discussion. One of the main problems here is the addiction to attention. Why are the majority of people in here? Without trying to generalise I think I wouldn't be far off when i say it's due to unsuccessful dating in real life. Ok, others come on here for the entertainment value or whatever. A person who has attracted few quality people in real life is able to come on here, show a seductive pic or two, and suddenly be every person's wet dream. It is attention he or she isn't used to and before you know it, it has become addictive and for once they feel like they have a little control over the opposite sex whereas before rejection was the only thing they experienced. Now, with all this positive attention a person receives, what is the incentive for them to give it all up for 1 person that may or may not work out? Granted, maturity levels differ and this won't apply to every person in here. From personal experience however, I have known many female friends who just can't let go. Egos are fragile and this is an ideal place for them to have them both massaged and boosted. I am sure this applies to men just as much and the next step is that they are accused of being players. Moving from woman to woman enjoying the attention that was missing from their real lives. However, when women do this they rarely get called players, but it really boils down to the same thing. In this cyberdating world, people can be almost anyone they wish to be. Flaws can be disguised behind their profile and to some extent a new, more desirable character can be created. To keep this character that clamors for attention in tact, they must prevent themselves from getting too close to anyone, lest they be found out. So, the solution is to stay on here and continually move onto the next person. I am sure I will get a great deal of contradicting views, but then again, isn't this a place to voice an opinion?

I see some women on here saying that the reason they would ask how much a guy makes is because they don't want to have to support him later. But at the same time this may also tell the guy that she is looking for a free ride. Personally, I have never been asked this question and if asked I would tell her it was none of her business. She can ask about my job etc but my bank account and assets are noone's business but mine. Anyway, if a woman can't recognise whether a person is capable of supporting a good family after a few dates, she isn't overly perceptive.

Personally,I will intentionally leave my cell in the car. Since my daughter is only 4 she will be in bed by the time I go for my dinner date anyway and my ex is the last person I would want interrupting me. Someone said earlier "what did we do before there were cellphones?". My sentiments exactly. The date is my quiet/leisure time and I refuse to be distracted if someone has shown me enough respect to give me their time. They, in turn, deserve the same respect. I also refuse to be a slave to my phone........I am on it quite enough during business hours.

Well, I have no idea if you're a good guy, nice guy or whatever....but it's clear that you have alot of pent up sexual energy which will probably cloud your judgement and prevent you from behaving in a casual, non-threatening way to women. Women will pick up on this and the majority will shy away. Without trying to sound too crude, why don't you go relieve your tension with a 'professional' and then try approaching women in a relaxed manner. If you are the 'nice' guy you claim to be then your luck may change.
