reflections about today's historic moment

Skyhound -I just pray there is another John Wilkes Booth or oswald!

Not a nice post. Sounds like a threat!

Sounds like a threat against the newly elected president. Careful the Secret Service may be coming to give you a visit! You should be ashamed of yourself

reflections about today's historic moment

Sounds like you have been listening to way to much right wing talk radio. I guess listening to Rush Limbaugh, Shawn Hannity and Michael Savage will mess up your mind after a while.

Firt of all President Obama is not a socialist. This country has had a progressive tax system for decades where the rich pay more in taxes. Even under Ronald Reagon so I guess your calling him a socialist as well? And by the way the rich may be supposed to pay a higher tax rate but they can avoid a lot of the taxes because they move there money offshore to aviod paying the taxes and hire tax attorneys to find loop holes for them.

Taxing the rich guys - would it really work?

So if the income tax is illegal why have the courts upheld it? Seems to me like your kind of thinking went get a man put in prison for tax evasion!

Taxing the rich guys - would it really work?

My question is dont the rich get out of paying a lot of there taxes anyway so are they really paying more. Wealthy people have the money to hire tax attorneys so they can find tax loopholes or move money offshore so they dont have to payas much in taxes. Is this correct?

I think it is a great pickup for Dallas. No double teaming Terell Owens anymore. Scary offense to play.

Which states will election come down to?

I just seen a poll that Obama was ahead two points in North Dakota. You know Republicans are in trouble when North Dakota becomes a battleground state!

So what would a fair sentence be in this case? This case not the other one. Consider what someone would if there name was joe smith instead of OJ Simpson?

Looks lie all the battle ground sates are swinging towards Obama. If McCain is behind in Republican strongholds like North Carolina and Virgina and Florida he is in a whole lot of touble.

O.J. Simpson Found Guilty On All Counts

So why did his co defendants audio tape the entire? Because they wanted to turn around and sell it to some tabloid and make a lot of money which they did. And then the prosecutors turn around and give all his co defendants sweet heart deals to testify against him. Why would you cut a deal with the people who were actually carrying the guns to testify against OJ. In my opinion the guys who were carrying the guns should get the most time. Instead they are going to walk away after a year or two in jail why OJ does possibly a life sentence! Sound fair to you?

This case was cleary over prosecuted if I was on the jury I probaly would have found OJ guilty of the robbery and not the kidnapping. He would have done 5 years at most and that is fair for a person who has no prior criminal record. Remember he was found not guilty of the murders whether you like it or not.

I think he will do more time than a couple years. Do you see any parole board ever letting him out early?

I agree with you that he should have kept his nose clean and he only got away with the murders 13 years ago because Marcie Clark and Chris Darden were so totally inept at there job.

But you got to admit the kidnapping charge is pretty darn week. Come on when you think of kidnapping you think of a guy dragging a 12 year old into his car. Not exactly the facts we have here. I agree I guess it could be interpeted as kidnapping what Oj did but do you think in any other case someone whould have been charged with that in these circumstances?

Anyway he got 13 more years of freedom then he deserved now its over for him.

So what does everyone think a fair sentence would be in this case? Just this case not considering the murders.

O.J. Simpson Found Guilty On All Counts
Posted: 10/4/2008 8:05:30 AM
Ok I agree O.J was guilty of the murders 13 years ago. But I must say this case they found him guilty of Las Vegas was a very, very weak case. No one other than OJ Simpson would be prosecuted for this. First of all it was his property he was going to get from these guys in the hotel room. Second none of the victims were hurt physically. Also how does a jury find in him guilty of kidnapping when he never took the victims out of the room? Dosent kidnapping require that you move someone from one place to another? I agree OJ was guilty of a simple robbery maybe which for any normal person would get you maybe a year or two in prison. Not facing life like he is now. He was totally overcharged in this case. I worked as a corrections officer in a prison for a few years and can tell you no one would ever get prosecuted to this extent for what he did in this case.

But I guess his luck finally ran out you can only give the goverment so many shots at you before they will get.

University of Phoenix

Ok we are not trying to compare the University of Phoenix to Havard here. The question is if companies will consider you for a job with it? No one is claiming it is on par with an Ivy league school

I had a friend who just has a Bachelors degree from the University of Phoenix and he is very happy with it. It helped him get a great job that he loves and makes a lot of money doing. So it appears to be a good college to attend that helps a lot of people. The tutution is a little pricey but your paying for the conveinence of doing your homework in your underwear at 2am. lol

I like a lot of the critism is based on that people are not yet is to online degrees and they do not know the facts that the University of Phoenix is fully accredtited just like any traditional university.

A lot of the critism is based on classism in my opinion. You do have a lot of people who are working full time who dont have the opportunity to go to a traditional college and the University of Phoenix gives them that chance. I guess people who go to Ivy league schools hold themselves out to be superior.

So human resource people look down on applicants who just have an online degree in general? And another question is why do online degrees cost as much as traditional ones in a lot of cases? There is not the overhead of a building so you would think they would be cheaper.

I agree with you that OJ has been over charged in this case. No one would be facing life in prison based on what the facts are in this case. I fare outcome if he was guilty of this would probaly be a year or 2 in prison.

Looks like the Presdentail election will come down to a few states such as Ohio, Michigan, PA, Florida. And a few western states such as Nevada and Colorado. Who has the advantage in these battleground states? Comments from people who live in there staes or have visted n which way they may go.

Confidence Vs Bad Looks!
Posted: 9/4/2008 6:16:35 PM
Affirmations can help but I think you the only way you can gain confidence is to get out there and give it a try. If you pull it off you will know you will be able to pull it off in the future and if you dont at least you know you did what you could. You miss 100% of the shots you dont take.

Sarah Palin's 17 year old pregnant daughter!

The point is that she a hyporcrite. She preaches family values and to avoid premartial sex and her own daughter is out doing it. The right wing of the Republican party will not like this.

I agree with your post. It was a good Idea for McCain to pick a woman. However not the one that he picked. There are many other women senator or governers tha are more qualified than her.
