Under my umbrella, ella, ella ....
Posted: 11/24/2009 1:09:39 PM
I think umbrellas should be banned for being dangerous.

I'm fed up when walking down the road if its raining and almost having
an eye pocked out by some idiot walking past me not looking where there going.

~New venue~London West End~Cocktail Club(At The Arts Theatre)-Leicester Square Sat November 28th~
Posted: 11/23/2009 12:40:18 PM
Hi Wheelup
Will be good to see you again too mate and I'm sure you'll like my tunes:-0)

West end venue=West End prices ?

I'm afraid so mate.

With this being an upmarket venue and in the heart of The West End of London.

So I'd advise everyone coming to bring re-inforced wallets or purses if at all possible!

Jeez, capacity of 150 and already 202 folks have signed up.

Unfortunately some members may well have to be turned away if the venue reaches its capacity.

This is due to the bars health and safety laws and for the safety of all members attending on Saturday.

There are a number of other bars and clubs in the area that members could go to
if you find that you can't get into the meet if its full to capacity when you turn up.

It will be a first come first served basis to try and be as fair as possible to everybody.

If any members have signed up but can't make it on Saturday please could you
help out by removing your name from the sign up list and it will be much appreciated

Dress Code

Although there is no dress code, with it being an upmarket venue and The bar that were
using being part of a theatre I think smart casual would be suitable on this occasion.
So no trainers please guys, tracksuits or hoodies but jeans are OK.

We all need to make a good impression so that we can use this venue again in the future.

All or nothing…. or just settle for a companion
Posted: 11/22/2009 4:16:46 PM
I think it depends.

A lot of people are used to living on their own and don't need a companion.

Where as many folk can't go more than 5 minutes without being in a relationship.

I think I'd rather be on my own than have company just for the sake of it.

At least I can still watch football all day in just my underpants and burp and fart if I wish without annoying anyone.

I'm sure there will be another Social Night the week before Christmas
So hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky!

Thanks Misty for the best wishes and encouragement for any newbies coming.

The Sun has come out so with a bit of luck there won't be any rain this time!

If you have no plans tonight and live nearby why not come and join us there?

If you have work tomorrow you could still attend even if its just for an hour or so.

I'll be there about 7.30pm and looking forward to seeing you all this evening

Hola amigos

Only 3 more sleeps to go now

The manager of The Elche bar/restaurant is looking forward to having us on Thursday.

I hope the weather is a bit more kind this time!

It looks like we might need our umbrellas
according to the news just now but I'll still be there what ever happens.

If anyone would like me to meet them outside if your attending a POF do
for the first time and are a little shy or nervous just drop me a line and we'll sort something out.

Hasta Pronto

Have you cheated death?
Posted: 11/12/2009 3:40:00 AM
I once very stupidly tried to sneak into the front of the queue at my local
post office during pension day and was confronted by an angry mob of pensioners
who chased me down the high st and I'm sure it was only by luck that I cheated death!

If the OP is true it would have been great if the RAF had blown up the Traffic Cops patrol car!!

New laws for men who pay for sex with vulnerable girls...is it enough?
Posted: 11/10/2009 4:33:23 PM

Do yo believe that this new law will make any difference to the prostitution trade?

If this new law will help stop young girls from Eastern Europe being sold like slaves
and trafficked to work in The UK as Prostitutes then I'm all in favour of such legislation.

I also think its about time we had licensed brothels also like they have over in The USA.

If I guy wants to get his leg over and doesn't mind paying for it legally why cant he?

Did Addict Prisoner Deserve Compensation?
Posted: 11/10/2009 4:18:00 PM
No I don't think this man deserved any compensation
for taking drugs whilst in prison and think this award is a joke.

If he felt depressed for being wrongly convicted he could have gone
to ask for help rather than take all these drugs which nobody forced him to take.

I get depressed every week when my football team loses
but I don't go down to my local pub and drink myself to death after every defeat.

So can I sue my local pub now for serving me as much alcohol as I wanted then?

On a side issue I have read that this charming gentleman is now standing trial
again for attacking a social worker and could be sent down to prison again!!

I hope the government appeals against this crazy decision in the house of lords or whatever.

Hate being truthful about myself.
Posted: 11/10/2009 12:28:02 PM
I can understand why you might not like being truthful about yourself OP.

I have a disability and wish I could hide it or not have to mention it on my profile.

But I'd feel bad if I agreed to meet a woman for a date without telling her about it first.

If she decided not to meet me afterwards I'd be upset but know that I did the right thing.

Even if she had the biggest natural breasts in the world ever and liked watching football.

I'm sure there are many guys out there who wouldn't mind going out with a transexual

But its only fair to let people know and to be honest from the start even if its hard to say.

Does Gordon Brown deserve such criticism over his miss spelt letter?
Posted: 11/10/2009 11:09:53 AM
As a Tory I'm not a fan of Gordon Brown or The Labour party at all
but I think all this criticism he has been getting the last couple
of days over a few spelling mistakes in a hand written letter he sent
to the mother of a soldier who died in Afghanistan is really unfair.

I'm really sorry that this lady lost her son but what is she trying to achieve by all
this and isn't she just being manipulated by a certain newspaper for their political gain?

The PM went out of his way to personally telephone this woman and say sorry about
it all but she has recorded the conversation which has now appeared in the media.

Does Gordon Brown deserve such criticism over his miss-spelt letter?

And does anyone else feel sorry for him and think he is being unfairly treated?

I hope there are no spelling mistakes in my post!!

I've always been honest and genuine with myself from the first day I joined here.
Whats the point in being anything else as you will always be found out in the end.

I wish I didn't have a disability sometimes but I'm still as good as any other bloke.
I can't help liking women with big breasts either but at least I'm honest about it!

None of us should be surprised that John and Edward are still in this karaoke show.

Its quite obvious that there going to win even if they cant sing and don't deserve it.

The other contestants might as well give up now as it doesn't matter how well they do.

Simon Cowell will keep these young lads in this show right until the end as its good for the ratings.

Expect them to have a christmas No1 hit also!!

Can Haye Win ?
Posted: 11/8/2009 2:15:50 PM
It sadly wasn't a very exciting fight to watch after all the hype the last couple of weeks.

But David Haye deserved the victory as he always looked to go forward and landed
some good punches especially in the last round when The giant Russian almost went down.

Its great to have a British heavyweight champion of the world again.

I hope this will wake up our friends across the Atlantic to produce some genuine challengers

This division has been quiet for far too long now and needs some new heroes.

Posted: 11/8/2009 1:25:10 PM
I'm not that worried if the sign up is low in numbers.

A POF meet can be considered successful
even if only 2 people turn up but you both still have a good time.

And these smaller do's are much better to meet other members
and make new friends than one that might have over 300 people attending!

Londonwoman

I wouldn't think that dogs would be allowed in The Elche bar with it being a restaurant.

Just under 2 weeks to go now until Leytonstones 2nd POF meet.......

Looking forward to seeing you all there again soon

should he be jailed
Posted: 11/6/2009 5:20:04 AM
This case has highlighted the disgusting behaviour carried out by
many people in our towns and cities up and down the country every night.

Just because this student was drunk is no excuse in my opinion for him not to be jailed
We should be showing a zero tolerance policy towards this sort of anti social behaviour

If it means a few days in jail then it might just stop others from doing the same thing.

I feel sorry for our Police who have to deal with these drunks as they take up
a lot of their time when they could be doing something else more useful like catching real criminals.

Will be interesting to see what the court decides on this case.

If so how

If I was fighting this giant Russian I'd have him no problem at all.

I''d just run around the ring for 11 rounds trying to aviod his punches
and hope that by round 12 he was so tired I could knock him out with one punch.

No!

I have always had a very high opinion of Boris and voted for him to be Mayor of London.

This incident just goes to show what a legend and a great man he is.

He may have his faults but he didn't have to think twice to help stop this lady being attacked.

Its great to see so many new members deciding to come along to their first POF meet.

I shall be trying to get some better directions to the venue in the next couple of days.

Its only just a few minutes walk from Leicester Square tube station but I'm not
sure which exit would be the best one to use when leaving the underground.

If any of you guys know for sure please let me know so I can update the info on here.

Do our footballers think that they are above the law?
Posted: 10/29/2009 10:51:06 AM
Just been hearing on the radio about this ex Wigan footballer Marlon King
who has been sent down for 18 months for sexually assualting a woman in a night club.

He had placed his hand on her bottom and when she protested he punched
her in the face and broke her nose and was thrown out of the venue by security.

So I ask do you think that our footballers think that they are above the law?

What made him believe that he could get away with molesting a woman in a club?

And finally should he be given another chance to play again when he has served his sentence?

SUGGESTING A DATE

how would you feel if the lady suggested meeting before you did?

I would be worried incase she was only after me for my body and not my mind!

I'd be more than happy if a genuine lady suggested meeting for a date before I did.

I know though that most women still prefer men to make the first move when it comes to dating.

Dating people you haven't met online
Posted: 10/29/2009 10:27:32 AM
For those of you having some luck in meeting people when you're out and about spill the beans where and how are you meeting them?

I don't go down the pub very often unless its for a sunday roast
and I'm far too old now to be spending the whole night out dancing in a club!

So the best place for me to find someone now is on an online dating site.

I do often get chatting to women whilst waiting for the bus which is very interesting.
There is one lady I often see that is very attractive who I might ask out for a coffee!

So I recommend guys to hang about bus stops even if your not travelling anywhere.

Hams I walked past the venue last night (nice re-vamp it's had) but the sign on the door said 'members only' ................... do we have to join something to enter?

Hi CK
The downstairs bar which we shall be using is "members only" as its part of the theatre
however on the night of this event it will be made available to us on POF for our social night.

Nobody has to join anything to enter on Nov 28th and its free to get in as all my meets on here always are.

Thats good to read that the venue looks nice as they had the painters and decorators in when I was there last!

How Do You Handle Rejection?
Posted: 10/28/2009 9:02:53 AM

Thats interesting to read Hams, i will admit i almost always lie, if i find a guy unattractive, i will always say its to do with distance or some other excuse like that, im not comfortable being blunt with people, is that wrong?

I can understand if you find it uncomfortable to be blunt and that it must be difficult GG.
But I'd prefer if a woman told me she didn't find me attractive than make up an excuse!

It might be hard to take at first but better than knowing it wasn't for something made up.
I can't speak for other men on this matter but that is how I feel about this particular issue.

How Do You Handle Rejection?
Posted: 10/28/2009 6:56:07 AM
Having been on here a long time now I should be used to being rejected all the time
but I'd be lying if I said that it doesn't bother me and still don't handle it very well at all.

I don't have a problem if a woman doesn't fancy me and its their choice but when your
always being told that your such a nice guy and a gentleman it does get very annoying!!

I guess we all handle rejection in a different way but I'd rather be told the truth why
I wasn't good enough for someone like if it was because of my disability than be lied to.
I'd be able to accept it more then and would respect that person for their honesty.

Posted: 10/27/2009 12:08:39 PM

How long do you get to know someone before you agree to meet them for a date OP?

Maybe if you took a bit more time getting to them first it might help weed out the bad ones.

As for how much effort should we make?

On the rare occasion that I'm happy to go on a date which is hardly ever at all.

As long as I look smart, turn up on time and behave like a gentleman thats good enough for me.

I'll try my best not to stare too much if she has big breasts but I'm not perfect.

Does 70 stone man deserve NHS treatment?
Posted: 10/21/2009 5:22:07 AM
Paul Mason the fattest man in the world from Ipswich
at 70 stone is about to undergo life saving surgery.

A compulsive eating disorder has left him super obese
and with an annual care bill estimated to be over £100,000.

So I ask does this gentleman deserve any NHS treatment?

Hasn't he brought all these problems upon himself?

Wouldn't the £20 k cost of the operation be better spent elsewhere?

Is there such a thing as a compulsive eating disorder or is it just a lack of will power?

I'm sure we would all love to eat what we wanted but no our limits.

Posted: 10/20/2009 1:52:18 AM
This reminds me of when I went shopping with an old friend who left me behind
at the supermarket so he could fill his car up with packs of beer as there was a special
offer on and I had to walk all the way home carrying my bags and wasn't amused at all.
(Were no longer friends)

In this case I think the Mountain rescuers have every right to be annoyed with
these martial arts experts who shouldn't have carried out this walk if they weren't up to it.

Well done Gary for organising the meet....It was great to see you again
as well as all my other buddies down Brighton way after such a long time.

I do have a slight complaint about the guy who was running the karaoke though.

I thought it was a little unfair that some of the pub locals sang twice or more while some
POF members never had a chance to even get up and have a go once during the night!

Maybe that is something that could be rectified between now and the next event there?

I'd like to say thank you to my lovely host for the weekend and for all those cups of tea and cheesecake x

Should we urge this man to punch any other celebs ?

Where will it all end?

Will they make you stand on scales to check your weight in Asda
if you decide you might fancy indulging yourself in a packet of chocolate hob nobs?

Mean while as were all made to feel like criminals for enjoying a smoke outside the pub

Our MP's who represent us at Westminster are free to enjoy a fag in the House of Commons bar as it has no smoking ban.

cigarette vending ban, whats next
Posted: 10/13/2009 10:30:29 AM
I never buy cigarettes from vending machines anyway
as they only ever have 16 in the packet rather than the full 20.

Why don't the government just round all of us up who smoke
so we can undergo socialist re education training and be brainwashed.

I'm fed up with this legalised witch hunt against smokers that has been going on the last few years.

If there so concerned about smoking why don't they just ban it completely and save all this bother.

But we know that will never happen as they will lose all that tax so we will continue to be persecuted.

I'm off for smoke!

Less than a week to go!!

I hope your ready for our duet on Saturday Gary as I've been practicing my singing.

I've been asked to perform with a rather gorgeous lady also so it looks like I'll be busy.

There was me thinking that I'd be sitting in the corner quietly on my own

Not long to go now!

If you live in the area why not come and join us all if you have no plans this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a sunny Hove on Saturday I hope!

Posted: 10/11/2009 1:17:38 PM
I've thought I have found what I'm looking for a
couple of times however I wasn't what they were looking for.

I think I may go and hand around Asda also in the womens lingerie section.

Was it easier years ago?

"No well-bred lady will too eagerly receive the attentions of a gentleman, no matter how much she admires him.

I seem to have this problem quite a lot with women who admire me and are well bred!

I think dating would have been much more difficult back than with all the rules they had.

You wouldn't have been able to just chat up a lady down the pub and take her back home.

Although they did used to have a lot of ladies of the night for men to indulge their pleasure!

Is It True Men think Of Sex Every 7 Seconds.
Posted: 10/9/2009 11:18:41 AM
When ever Msg 69 posts on the forum I can't think of anything else!!

OT....I don't believe it at all that men think about sex every 7 seconds
as there are far more important things to think about like putting the rubbish
out or if we can lend a hand carrying out important chores like washing the dishes.

Should you date more than one person at a time
Posted: 10/9/2009 10:43:58 AM
I've got 2 dates tomorrow night.
The first one is just for a coffee and the second one involves a night out clubbing.

If nobody sees me on the forum for a few days don't worry as will need time to recover.

I think its fine to date more than one person until you go exclusive with the right one.

~2nd Social Night at The Elche Bar~Leytonstone,East London November 19th~
Posted: 10/9/2009 9:46:05 AM
Hi Spindal

No worries about missing the 1st event mate.

The rain was torrential and I thought maybe I might have to swim home afterwards!

Hopefully the weather will be more kind to us and few more locals will come along this time.

Cheers

Happy in your skin?

I'm very happy in my skin.

I don't care if I have a disability, walk with a limp or am an ugly fecker.

Things could be worse.
