STEELERS!
Posted: 9/10/2009 9:15:56 PM
Big Ben can't bail out the Steelers for every game this season. Tomlin needs to get a good fullback for the short yardage plays, and that offensive line needs serious help! 35 yards rushing on 23 carries tonight? OUCH!

Predictions for the Heisman Winner this year.

Sleeper QB from Boise State might take it, and only being a sophomore, too. They have a pretty easy schedule, and no one except Oregon or Fresno State will put up much of a fight. Can't remember the guys name. Lefty QB, and VERY accurate and has mad skills!

Roberto Clemente is my pick for best player of all time. Over Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, etc.

Close second is Rickey Henderson. A managers nightmare on every level. That guy played forever, and got hit after hit...stolen bases galore, runs, OBP was up there with the all time greats, walks, etc.

Yogi Berra is my vote for best catcher EVER over Biggio and Bench. Pudge don't mean squat in my opinion because he is one on that "infamous" list of players who took steroids and tested positive. I know it for a fact. Yogi won 10 WSerise rings....won a few MVP's, and hit well and was solid behind the plate.

NBA Playoffs
Posted: 4/28/2009 10:55:21 PM
Celtics take a 3-2 series lead with a 108-106 Overtime win tonight! What another great game it was!

Lakers dusted away Utah last night...taking on Denver soon!

Cavs sent Pistons home last night-and Denver routed New Orleans by a NBA playoff redord 58 points...now that is what I call a major whooping!

Dallas finished off San Antonio in 5 games tonight. Spurs had NO chance without Ginobli.

Chickenfoot-Coming to a town near you!
Posted: 4/20/2009 12:32:59 AM
For those rock folks out here, the new band called "Chickenfoot" features former Van Halen stars Sammy Hagar on lead vocals & guitar, Michael Anthony on bass guitar and back up vocals, along with Chad Smith on drums(former chili peppers drummer), and the ultimate and under rated Joe Satriani on lead Guitar. They are starting a short tour on May 14th, 2009 here in Seattle. Most of their shows are already completely sold out! Glad I got my tickets when I did! Their new album(debut) comes out on June 9th.

Hulk Hogan understands now why O.J. did It?
Posted: 4/20/2009 12:24:10 AM
There is no way in heLL that OJ kiled his wife. Johnny Cochrane (R.I.P. great man) proved that point with the infamous "gloves" not fitting OJ one bit. He tried them on, and they didn't even go maybe halfway on and he had to stop. He flailed his hands to everyone in that courtroom, saying "they don't fit". Plus, if those were his gloves, then why was there no DNA matching blood sample with his blood that was drawn for matching? Plus yeah maybe the gloves dried a bit over the time it took the prosecution to take forever presenting the suppossed "evidence".

But deep down in my heart...I really think that OJ hired someone to slit Nicole's throat and kill ron goldman. Sounds even worse than doing it themselves, but hey...a LOT of dirty cops(including the FBI, secret service, and Los Angeles PD) worked that case and twisted and made it long drawn out more than it really was.

Terrell Owens cut by the Cowboys
Posted: 3/4/2009 9:29:24 PM
He won't retire. Not even close.

I have never liked him. As much talent as that body has, the other 90% of him is all SELFISHNESS and GREED-the "me, me, me" third person athlete. What a shame.

I could see him playing in New York with the Giants, or in Seattle. Can you imagine T.O., TJ Houshmanzada, John Carlson, Bobby Engram and Deion Branch as the main corp of receivers for the Seahawks this next season? Scary.

It's about ime Jerry Jones finally put the boot in his ass...see ya T.O.!

Rock Stars & Their Egos
Posted: 2/19/2009 12:38:19 AM
Peart is overrated. First when he steps in he is unknown. Then great years of drumming. Then the self pity over the family accident stuff. I'm sick of people saying he is better than Bonham & Moon, even Buddy Rich. No way in hell he plays better than those guys.

I like Phil Collins a lot, I even like Don Henley. He is the most underrated drummer in my opinion.

As for Tommy Lee, yeah he does things most drummer could only dream of. Peart wishes he could "fill" like Tommy does. Tommy doesn't use a drum machine like Peart does. Tommy hits all of his kit. Peart on the other hand doesn't. That is why I am confused on why he has it so big. It's like a jazz drummer trying to drum on a rock band kit. Or a band not using marshall cabinets.

Angry Music
Posted: 2/19/2009 12:26:54 AM
Yes, I said Johnny Cash. The thread asked "what do you listen to when you are ticked?", not "what type of angry music do you listen to when you are ticked". There is a HUGE difference.

Try listening to Johnny Cash "live from Folsom Prison" next time you are seriously ticked off. It will calm you quickly, and if you have the right brainwaves, you will listen to the words and of what Johnny is singing about.

All these other bands that people have listed like "Lamb of god", "slipknot", and all that other crap is NOISE, not music. It makes people who are angry even MORE angry and destructive. Wonder why people kill, do drugs, drink, and beat one another? Suppossed "musical" artists with junk cd's.

How long should sex last?
Posted: 2/18/2009 8:29:34 PM
gena6969-if your ex came too quickly and you got all miffed about it, that could be a downer for him the next time he tried to "perform". It's called having confidence and experience on your side, something only tranny girls understand. I have no idea why women have such a problem with guys who blow their load too quickly. It happens to everyone. It's like how women fake orgasms. They all do it once in their life. We don't complain about it. You shouldn't either.

As for those of you who commented on someone not being normal having sex more than 90 minutes. Been there, done it. Gone for 4 hours before and we both got sore as hell from it. But it was amazing sex!

Bad kissers can get somewhat improved, but I don't think they can become as great as the "top" kissers out there.

I have never had an ex girlfriend tell me I was anything short of "excellent" in the kissing department. Same as those blind dates. They want to know how I got so good at it.

NBA 09 Who's Your Pick?
Posted: 2/13/2009 2:32:48 PM
Kobe is amazing. As big of a Celtics fan(and Laker hater) I am, I do not hate Kobe in any way. Only because I met him when he played high school and I have the utmost respect for him in every way.

Sure you want the ball in his hands in the waning minutes of a game. But he is no Jordan. Teams KNOW he will get the last shot. They adjust to that, and try to make another Laker beat them. Unfortunately the other 11 Laker players than Kobe don't seem like they want to do much in the last parts of the game when they are behind.

I couldn't agreee more with you about Tim Duncan. Very under rated player. More of a leader than David Robinson or I'd even go as far back to say George Gervin for the Spurs in their team history. Timmy does it all. And the bank shots off the glass for a player his size is just the icing on the cake.

I'm saying Celtics/Spurs Matchup in the Finals. Tim Duncan on your team is scary, any year. He steps up in the playoffs. I don't see L.A.going far in the playoffs. Trading Radmanovic this week was a BIG mistake by the L.A. front office. Kobe can't carry this team.

Celtics in 6 over the Spurs. Rondo winning MVP award.

Charles Barkley said it best many years ago:

I hate to say it, but I don't think so. He may have cheated, and lied to many. But Alex is one of the most generous athletes I have ever met. He doesn't write off any charity donations. He knows what he has done was wrong. Now he has to live with that for the rest of his life. For no reason should that keep him form doing charity work and donating his time and hard earned money without others all of a sudden thinking it's only to make up for his faults. Get real people. Like none of you have done anything wrong in life? None of you have lied, cheated, or done anything illegal? Give me a break.

Good mention of the show "playmakers". It wa ended because of leakage of truths the NFL, NBA, and MLB doesn't want anyone to know about.

It's very crazy how a fan can go crazy over an athlete like OJ Simpson killing his wife. Yeah they pervoke him, call him this and that, and want to see him put out of his misery.

These are the SAME people who pay money to professional athletes and watch them make MILLIONS of dollars for "playing a GAME". Their hard earned dollars, going to an athlete. They trust these athletes. Even when they do wrong they just can't figure out how they can do steroids. Drink & drive, Beat their girlfriends. Be deadbeat fathers not paying child support, and cheaters who sleep with anything that will get them off while the "wifey" isn't around. It's all "unbelievable" and "not sensible" to the fans. Until it all comes out. It's crazy.

Is a DJ a musician?
Posted: 2/9/2009 2:04:11 PM
The whole thing about musicians who can't read music cracks me up.

I have a friend I work with who is into Bluegrass/country music pretty heavily. So much into it he hosts his own "bluegrass jam" every wednesday night from 6pm-midnight. About 12-20 people show up every week, in his tiny 2 bedroom 1 bathroom 1,500 square foot house. The front room is packed with violin, mandolin, acouustic guitars, stand up bass, steel guitars and harmonicas. I go about twice a month. I can't play anything if my life depended on it. I also can't read a lick of music notes. BUT, I can tell when someone is off key, or out of tune. And I'm not saying just here and there. I have an excellent ear for it. It even makes some of the players upset. When they show up and try to use an electric tuner before they start, Doug(my friend who hosts) tells them to strum and let me tell them. Some do, some don't. But it's just funny to see the looks on their faces when they think they are in tune and try to play. I shake my finger and say "nope, better tune it again". It's hilarious.

But I agree that the BEST musicians in time never could read music. Elvis, Johnny Cash, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, even Jimi Hendrix. Long long list.

observer902-dude you need to quit with all the black & white stuff, and other crap too.

This whole baseball thing is about finally cracking down on those who cheated by using whatever sorts of ILLEGAL drugs. If you are dumb enough to not think that Barry Bonds ever took steroids, you are a moron. You and all his other followers/fans from San Francisco and Pittsburgh. Come on, everyone knows he did it. Just like Giambi, McGwire, Canseco, and now A-Rod.

At least Alex fessed up. Sure he lied about not doing it before, but he is a better man than the commisioner or any other MLB litigator in this whole investigation case. Just greedy humans trying to take money away from us innocent fans and ruin the game of baseball.

I have known Alex since 1993. He is an ass. He never touched any steroids while here in Seattle. No surprise to me about this finally coming out. When Alex was hanging out with Canseco before going to Texas, the most I've seen him do was hit the gym, go clubbing, have some nose candy, drinks and shoot pool. He could have taken suppliments or other pills from Canseco. He knew Jose was juiced. No secret to anyone in baseball. The guy was impossible HUGE in person, it was silly. I do know that Alex also took lots of Creatine. That he picked up from McGwire and Juan Ginzalez.

Vince is the only real slacker of late from when they broke up in the 90's to present. No stage presence, can't sing a lick, can't remember lyrics. Super Bowl XLIII thread: Steelers vs. Cardinals
Posted: 2/2/2009 3:22:24 PM
OK-back to the super bowl thread here....

Great game! Although one thing really sttod out that the refs really missed. The personal foul on the pittsburgh linebacker during the punt in the 4th quarter(before the safety happened) was the correct call, but he should have been ejected for throwing an open punch while the cardinal lineman was clearly on the ground, then as he got up he leveled him! No call for what he did.

Santonio Holmes was on my fantasy football team all year long. Glad he is getting the proper "props" for the fine WR he truly is. What a catch that was. Great footwork!

I always thought Jerry Rice & John Taylor were the worst receivers on a team to not get called for blatant "illegal picks" to free someone else up for tons of running room. After watching the game yesterday, Fitzgerald and Boldin are my 2 new receivers to hate on for that. Only reason Fitzgerald got free on that wide open TD to put them ahead. Refs missed the pick.

As a cowboys fan, it hurt seeing Pittsburgh get to 6 first. But I'll still put the 92 cowboys team against any team out there as the best ever.

And for all you arguing about Bob Hayes and Shannon Sharpe-Hayes did change the receiver position, and the "better" sharpe was Sterling. That guy needs to be in the hall, Short lived career, awesome receiver. Sad still to this day that Shannon is bitter about his brother being abetter player, human being and NFL analyst.
