Overprotective Freinds - how do you deal with 'em?
Posted: 7/14/2009 5:06:11 AM
If a friend of mine were to be rude to my date I would put them in their place. Hey ex girlfriend.butt out I can handle my own business. I would expect the same from a woman that I am dating.

It's one thing for a friend to say something like hey buddy she is very special to us and has been wounded in the past so be careful with her feelings...or she has been physically abused in the past so tread softly, just as a heads up.......however threatening violence over some perceived threat that has nothing to do with the current situation is cause for alarm in my book and they might be picking their azzes up off the ground for insinuating such a thing. Fight or flight and I am too old to outrun anyone!

She tells you she's bi-sexual
Posted: 7/13/2009 4:51:24 AM
She has been intimatly involved with men, for most of her life.....yet says she is Bi.
perhaps she has been having her hot dog and then honey buns for desert? Was she monogamimus during the long term relationships of the past. Perhaps the men in her past were fine with her bisexuality, or perhaps it caused problems those relationships. These are questions that you should pose to her. In the end you might have to decide if you are willing to share her with the fairer sex.

What lessons have you learned from online dating?

I have learned that the things people post in the forums are a much better insight into who they really are than what they put on their profiles.

Many years ago BC......Before Children...... I had some experience in this subject.

I would have two suggestions....first and foremost...You pick the girl, after all it is you that will need to be atttrcted to her, if you want to explore your bi curious side, If this is a fantisy of his he should not object to having you choose the partner. Most dance clubs, even country and western ones, are full of girls dancing with girls, and you can get a good feel for someones sexuality by the way they grove to the music. Your man and you can just "cut in " and start a conversation, couple of shots and a beer, well you get the idea.

Another good place to find a willing partner might be a gay/ lesbian bar on straight night. Usually if they have a drag queen night, it is considered "straight" night. or a regular club that has "drag" shows. Just remember that large adams apples usually means that "she" is also packing a sack of "nuts"!!

Good luck, and remember....its all about you...he is just lucky to have an open minded partner!

Whywater.........

Most adult toy stores have what is called an anal training kit, small, bout the size of your pinky, medium, about the girth of a thumb and as long as your middle finger, and then a size which is larger in girth but not as long as the average penis. each are "butt pluggs" and can be worn and enjoyed during the "normal course" of sexual play. I "know" someone that gives these as 1st date gifts instead of flowers and candy. great ice breaker....he claims....

Not That I would know this from personal experience

Do you believe a man of today, still understands the true meaning of romance?

[/"Hey Mr. Whiny-Nice-Guy, you should try that and let us know how it works out".]

I think he is trying to say that some women don't appreciate a "Nice Guy".
After reading about your recovery from surgery I expected to read that you were living happily ever after with your romantic nursemaid....but he WAS an amazing man.

Follow your gut!! Unless your walking backwords of course....I had a female friend that fell in love with a muslum man that we worked with...they shacked up for about 8 months and all seemed dandy....then he got a call from his father and moved back to the middle east to marry the girl that his family chose for him. The simple fact that his friend is a racist should be a warning sign IMHO.

One way relationship...
Posted: 3/13/2009 11:06:05 AM
max max max......I wasn't suggesting that you be cold, or distant, or for goodness sake never play head games. There is a difference between being at her beckon call, waiting by the phone, hanging on her every movement..ie her going out with friends, while you patiently wait for her to decide that she wants to spend some time with you, and playing "hard to get" The fact is that it hurt your feelings that she went out with her friends at the cost of going out with you, and you missed being with her for a whole week. Living a fun life outside your relationship is not "playing games". Making plans with friends outside of your relationship with her is not playing games, Not returning text messages, or emails, is not only playing games.....but rude as well...especially if you always have returned them promptly in the past.
Be the sweet kind generous person that you always are, when you do talk to her. then ask her out or over to your place on a certain date at a certain time, that you haven't already made plans with your friends. When your together lavish the same attention on her that you did when you first started to date. Text her goodnight , after the date, just like always.....Chances are pretty good that if you had a good time together she will call you within a day or so.....In the mean time...make plans to..go out with some friends, go over to a buddy's house and watch the game or play some video games.
If she doesn't call within a couple of days, there is nothing wrong with calling her and telling her that you had a good time last time you saw her and ask her out again.

Good luck Max...You don't need to be a door mat to leave the door open for her!!

Never make someone a priority who just considers you an option....I read that on a profile once and it makes alot of sense.

I would give her some space....no initial contact...let her make the next move, be less available and see if she really misses you or not.

just a thought......

Excuse me Mr Justice dept. The fact that you of all people are against the war on drugs, yet defend the governments position that they have the right to jail and persecute the American people makes my opposition much less personal and SILLY. My arguments might be silly, but you are the Law Professional...where are your objective and thoughtful objections to this obviously discriminatory and untenable War on Drugs?

If you can't acknowledge that the war on drugs...open a floodgate for future wars to protect us from ourselves, you are not being honest as an attorney or an American'

Your point of law is probably correct, your conviction in your beliefs to change the law are suspect. I never claimed that the feds don't have jurisdiction in interstate commerce. I do however draw the line on the feds using bad legislation. designed to circumvent states rights to decide what drugs such as marijuana, and how they should be regulated, such as California's medical use laws.

Most federal prisoners are there on drug related convictions not because most prisoners are in prison for drugs, but because the federal government doesn't prosecute non-drug related crime.UNQUOTE

have you lost your mind???? drug related convictions are not about drugs. Tell that to the federal prisoners in prison for drugs!!the simple fact that the feds prosecute drug related crimes is an affront to every liberty that we as citizens of our individual states should hold most dear! the framers of the constitution were very careful to uphold states right to implement their own laws ...Paramount in the original constitution,

It is simple...If you break a law in Jersey that is a Jersey law and run to NY the feds have the responsibility to arrest you and have you stand trial in Jersey where you broke their law!

The FEDERAL drug laws were started to get rid of Hispanics using a fed tax stamp law for marijuana, which was repealed during the world war because we needed the commercial hemp then re-enacted because we didn't need the Mexicans any more due to the soldiers coming back home to work their own fields.

I don't want to get personal...but WTF do you work for the DEA or what! The prohibition and War on Drugs is simply a war on the poor and minorities n this country...always has been and always will be.... the scary part is when we let the government declare war on the poor...in the name of health...or safety ...we give them permission to declare war on us next!

The feds should have Less Power Less Money and Less say in our Lives Live Free Or Die!lated crimes nearly as much as the states. Simple, really

My final point is simply my first point....more people die from legal drugs. over-prescribed and misused misunderstood, yet made legal by the FDA,in conjunction with legally advertised foods loaded with fat, sugar, and preservatives, The long studied and universally accepted adverse effects of alcohol, and tobacco than all the illegal drugs combined..and if y0u think that he War On the American people in the name of a war to protect Americans from the blight of drugs is moral or even for that matter constitutionally lawfully I Wholeheartedly disagree with your opinion,Furthermore I am certain that the druggies and lowlife scum that you so readily jail and condemn now will be you. And in the future if WE as Americans>>Supposedly a Free people ...do not oppose with the same fervor that we opposed Nazis, and Fascist's in the 40's right now and forever then we are doomed to being controlled by rather than controlling Our Government.

People ridiculed me on the tobacco prohibition because I said that fatty fast foods and sugar laden foods would be the next topic of discrimination for your federally subsidized and lobbyist controlled health insurance companies That actually run the Government that we so Boldly declare is by the people and for the people.....Right If the people own stock in heath insurance or Prisons...Sorry if I am taking your remarks personally..but someone has to ...lest we all drink the Kool_aid and die a death of compliance in the era of politically correct speech and the Let the Government run my life because I am too stupid to do anything for myself and don't deserve the right to think for myself !

Quote"no the most imprisoned place on earth is Palestine, they are all in a jail yet the majority innocent." unquote

they chose their government....as woefully so did we.....but theirs is their own plight..the majority ruled in favor of Hamas...they are not innocent...they voted for a government decidedly and forthrightly renowned for terrorist acts and proud to be aligned and recognized as a terrorist organization..GIVE ME A BREAK!

If they don't like their Terrorist Governing Party...vote for better government...but do it with haste before the state of Israel defends themselves at an enormous cost to the "people" of the Gaza Strip who chose their Terrorist leaders!

poor poor pitiful me I picked a loser and a tyrant....now I must share his bed

my humble advice get rid of Hamas!! and Elect a government that has your people's best interest paramount in their minds...instead of Voting to become a terrorist run state...or of course you could invest in companies that build bomb shelters and caskets!

My government.... hailed by the world as the "home of freedom and democracy" but all my retirement investments are "mandated and controlled by the Feds" and spent and invested by the Federal Bureaucracy....are in "prison building, and institutional care" b I see the Power Grab the way it really is .....an opportunity...that I will give my life to oppose despite financial gain that might be achieved in the short term. My government has the Real control over my retirement investments...but none of my real capitol...which is my Spirit.. I will always fight for the freedoms and the liberties that my forefathers fought and died for!

Here are the above cited stats form the link You provided:

this in conjunction with your statement that 57% of federal inmates are there for drugs. Simply helps prove my point....the War on Drugs is simply a war on our freedoms and blight on our black Americans, and poorest sections of our society.....the poor folks who don't have the legal or political clout to defend themselves,...from the state or federal government!

These are the facts quoted in your link;

Among violent offenders, 41% of probationers, 41 of those in local jails, 38% of those in State prisons, and 20% of those in Federal prisons were estimated to have been drinking when they committed the crime

Nearly two-thirds of the 3.8 million increase in the number of adults ever incarcerated between 1974 and 2001 occurred as a result of an increase in first incarceration rates; one-third occurred as a result of an increase in the number of residents age 18 and older

Drug offenders, up 37%, represented the largest source of jail population growth between 1996 and 2002. More than two-thirds of the growth in inmates held in local jails for drug law violations was due to an increase in persons charged with drug trafficking. "love the fraction as opposed to 66% which would draw attention to the 2/3 growth!!"

In addition you woefully discount the millions of people that die and are otherwise handicapped by the use of legal tobacco, and unhealthy foods. Stop the war on drugs and for Christs sake stop the insanity of the hypocrisy's of the whole your vice is worse than mine so the government has the right to jail you for yours while they subsidise mine thru medicare and social security....You are totally missing my point!!! Live and let die...get the Friggin government out of the business of legislating Morality...because what is today's morality might be considered your Illegal vice tomorrow!

seenitall" and "mom to beagel" sp oops sorry...

I asked my 71 yr old law abiding father the following question."so?you have never broken a law that could put you in jail or prison?..his indignant answer...Hell no!

I know for a fact that he did "side jobs" in the 70's and never paid taxes on his "side " jobs. therefore not only "cheating on his "union" but systematically and intentionally committing a federal offense, "tax evasion" and a moral offense "Scabbing" his talent to the unrepentant sludge that won't pay union scale.

The point that the OP is making is that we have a REAL and PRESENT danger of becoming a police state and lest everyone in America stand up for personal freedoms ,we only give up someone else's but also our OWN and to our own despair . I see the signs on the roads in SC that state littering and speeding are punishable by 1000 fines and prison. I am NOT KIDDING.no question as to why, that SC's biggest employer is the prison system and their biggest income producing import is nuclear waste and other toxic landfill imports

LET FREEDON RING! The reason the vast Majority of people are behind bars is because of Unjust and laws(the war on drugs) and a system that puts the $ above the law...and the people!

oops sorry oscarz05....

And btw as if it matters I don't do drugs and haven't even smoked a joint in years, but the "War on Drugs" is simply a war against all of our liberty, and directly aimed at the poor, the black, and the least educated, and the least able to fight the war being waged on our society. Our Youth! The free market of capitalism is the only way to curtail drug use. Drug testing works. Punishment and prisons don't!

RJR tobacco, Li'L debbie snack cakes, Hostess, Mc'donalds, Burger king, Hardees, Jack Daniels, Budweiser, ECT ECT ECT these are the legal purveyors of misery and death.....The only time you hear of violence related to these companies is when they get robbed and the cashier gets killed.....or is it????? Tobacco and alcohol kill more people in america every year that all illegal drugs and violent crime related to the use of illegal drugs combined!!! Don't even get me started on heart desiese, diabetes, stroke, and all the known death and loss of productivity caused by severe Obesity. Directly related to the fast food giants and the indoctrinization by these evil advertisers that prey on our kids.....Damn you Ronald M'cdonald....curse you lit'l debbie., Get A LIfe!! the only reason for the war on drugs is because they didn't have lobbyiest buying votes in congress!!! The war on drugs began as a war on hispanic people with the marijuana tax act!

Well I have heard this female friend of mine tell her daughters several times not to put on their makeup every day, like they were going to be in a photo shoot or something.

She tells them that if you weare alot of make-up all the time then you never can look special or extra nice for a special occassion. She uses mascara most days herself but rarely wears lip stick or eyeliner and such.

When I finally asked her out for a date...She showed up with perfect makeup eyeliner and lipstick, manicured nails and toenails, and the cutest lil outfit. She was so sexy and I felt very special that she thought our date was a "special"occassion!!! I just couldn't help humming the "lucky dog song"

People who can afford 50-60k dollar vehicles are not too concerned with fuel prices. Moreover the people who can afford these high priced vehicles are not feeling the current economic downturn as badly as the true middle and lower middle class, they are the ones deciding how many people to lay off, not the ones being layed off.

A littlr class envy....maybe

Let's talk about "health insurance". WHY is it that the EXACT same insurance plan...from the EXACT same company costs GM, Ford and Chrysler almost $900 a month per employee....and costs Toyota and Honda only $600 a month ...PER employee?

Answer...Toyota has younger healthier employees less smokers and the insurance company is not on the hook for as many older and typically more expensive insured employees.
Quote:
The Big 3 DO need to go down, and it's not going to be pretty, and it's going to cost the American Public a lot more than it would cost to keep them afloat, but it's something that NEEDS to be done to wake up the American. Unquote:

We need to help Detroit become a viable profitable company. The answers are pretty much common sense.

The CEO's came to Washington in private jets with NO viable business plan in their hand...just a tin cup begging for a handout in one hand and a threat of a loss of 2 million plus jobs and a "certain" depression in the other.
Chrysler is owned by a hedge fund that won't lend them a dime.....let them either merge of fail!
Gm needs to fire the upper management of ALL departments except the R&D people that have done the electric Volt, and the Hybrid people.
The CEO of Gm should stay on at a $1 per year . His compensation should be tied to future profitability.
Middle management should take an equal % cut to that of the hourly workers.

The government can guarantee current pensions and retirees....which we will end up paying anyway...if we let them fail.

The government can "Prop up" the supply of credit for new car purchases.one of the biggest reasons for the decline of auto sales across the board is the high credit scores needed to get an auto loan.

The government should not pick winners or losers of any particular company. However the government Should encourage consumers to transition to hybrids and electric vehicles. Substantial tax breaks for purchase of cars like the Volt, as well as any of the less well known domestic producers of electric cars already in the marketplace.

Drill Baby Drill.... keep gas prices stable so that people will have a level of confidence in their budgeting.Note I said Stable not LOW. I think the government should put say a $20 per barrel tariff on all Imported oil. Even oil imported by US firms. Exxon Mobil will explore more domestic resources and benefit individual states instead of Rogue governments that wish to do us harm. Use the revenue from the tariff to pay for the Infrastructure needed to the Electric grid to accommodate all the electric cars that Will be used in the future.

I think we agree on more than we disagree. I am delighted to learn from someone such as yourself who has first hand knowledge of the subject. Someone quoted a statement that said the pensions for GM were safely invested in bonds, and were only like 26% in stocks, and the pension fund was 17 billion over-funded as of 2007. if the discrepency is not in health care, or retirement pensions, where is it? I certainly don't have any idea where the figure of 78.31 per man hr comes from, but I find it hard to believe that someone would just make up a number like that. and not be able to substantiate their claim without some hard facts.

The deal breaker was the UAW not setting a date certain to write a new contract which would make the wage and benefit pkg "competitive" with the transplant auto mfrs. And to agree to a date certain sometime in 2009 that the Sec of labor could verify that the UAW contract was "competitive" Keep in mind that the new sec of labor would be an Obama appointee and probably very Union friendly

Again we agree that Detroit has used credit to the detriment of the future viability of the company.....much like our government is doing now with deficit spending and now nationalization of the housing market, the banking and financial institutions, and if they get they get their way the domestic auto industry. Our government will be subject to inflation and interest of this current spending spree. The medicare and social security entitlement spending will be exponentially increasing at the same time that the debt that is being incurred now comes due. Our government will either implode from a bankruptcy in the next 20 years or our children will be paying for the huge debts that we are incurring now reducing their ability to spend on consumer goods, such as American made cars, thus a further slowing of the economy.

I want to see the big three not only survive, but utilize the best of American minds, and talent to become the greenest, most efficient , and profitable auto companies in the world. I do not want to see anyone lose their pensions or take a reduction in retirement benefits. I hope your right and the UAW is not the cause for the failure of these companies. I hope that they will be a part of the solution.

QUOTE Once again, although this statement is correct....how exactly do you expect 330,000 auto workers to prop up Social Security for the benefit of EVERYONE ELSE in the country when they can't even support their own retirees?UNQUOTE

I was simply stating that the feds are making the exact same mistakes that got the big three in trouble.....trying to borrow their way into financial security...and not having the foresight to see the writing on the wall when it comes to long term commitments. Medicare and social security are largely unfunded. The SSI lock-box was and is a joke. The refusal to do anything about defensive medicine is up to 70% by most estimates of a hospitals cost. Defensive medicine is all the tests taken to prevent lawsuits in case someone tries to sue the hospital.
I never suggested that auto workers should or even can prop up social security. On the contrary my concern is that the current workforce can't support their own retirees.

Bottom Line.....If the UAW were really for the hourly workers...they would do what it takes to keep the big three in business, so there is a job to go to at all. I repeat If the big three don't get money from the taxpayers...there will be no Union contracts Valid in a chapter 11 bankruptcy. A bankruptcy judge will force the sale of lots of factories and allow the companies to Replace union workers with whoever is willing to work the cheapest. With the economic woes of Detroit and the unemployment lines growing at 50000 people per month, nationally i think that there is a large number of people willing to work for much less than the current union wage.

If I were A UAW worker I would be calling for the head of that IDIOT president that stated that "bankruptcy is not an option" . He better start backtracking and realize that a 1/2 a loaf of bread is better than going hungry, and concessions will be made to keep the big three in business. Whether the UAW is at the table at all is the real question.

The UAW is more like dealing with the Mafia IMHO oh wait the Teamsters and the UAW are controlled by the mafia I almost forgot. The workers unfortunatly are going to have to take the brunt of layoffs and pay cuts to keep the Fat Cats snugg in their 1600 count egyption sheets and 7000 sq ft. homes... I would love to see the lifestyle of the UAW president compared to the average worker.

the 78.31 figure used is the total benefit pkg per man hr. This includes all the health and other benefits payed for retirees. THE problem for the big 3 is that they have so much unfunded retirement benefits.

The saddest part is that we are being given a peak into the future of medicare and social security. Not enough people paying in to offset the people receiving benefits. Who will be there to BAILOUT the federal government when all the baby boomers retire? The same people that are going to pay for all this deficit spending and bailouts now?? my kids...your kids our great great grandchildren. Unfortunately the big 3 didn't have the forsight or the will to take on the inevitable fact that they can't borrow their way to financial stability. Even worse our government is on the same path to bankruptcy, and our major creditor just happens to be China.

The UAW president today had the gall to say that Bankrupcy is not an option!!! Is he in fairy land or what? If the UAW and the mgmt of the big 3 in deroit do not do some serious belt tightening the entire viability of unions in the mfg. sector in in danger of being as obsolete as buggy-whips!

Unions had their place long ago because of the rampant abuse in both working conditions and saftey issues. Today the Government has OSHA, to address the safety concerns, and the mobility of our society in combination with the free market, address wage and working condition issues...IE if ya don't like where you work you can look elsewhere.

The real issue here is the same as always. The powerfull are covering their own butts. Bankrupcy court will certainly fire the entire upper mgmt of the big 3 and void not renegotiate but void all the contracts with the union. Thus the mgmt of the UAW will have hurt the working man and made themselves obsolete.

Never any chemistry between myself and guys. Why such a trend?
Posted: 12/9/2008 1:54:58 PM
I think that maybe you being newly single might have something to do with it. How long were you with your previous boyfriend? When 2 people get comfortable with each other for a long period of time there is a connection that can't possibly be duplicated with someone else even if you are with them for a couple of months, let alone 10 guys in 7 months. Its called dating and making new friends. Back in "the old days" we used to call it playing the field.I think that we called it playing the field because we described intimacy in terms like first base 2nd base and home run!

perhaps your feelings of loss are because you are investing your time, effort and emotions into your latest potential boyfriend expecting to replicate the same feeling that you had in you last LTR much too soon.

You can't find love when your looking for it but if you slow down and just be yourself and have fun... It will find you when you least expect it. For the Land of the freeeee and the home of the brave........ Play Ball!

good luck...batters up!!!

Roads and Bridges to a better Economy??
Posted: 12/8/2008 1:11:54 PM
The biggest problem with the roads and bridges infrastructure produces jobs scenario is the claim by the government that we can create 35,000-45000 jobs per 1 billion dollars spent. These numbers are grossly exaggerated according to the heritage foundation as well as many government agencies. For more on this read. . http://www.heritage.org/Research/budget/bg2121.cfm

Actually a current estimate in the real world can be found at http://www.search4jobs.com.au/article/record-road-spending-equals-jobs/

Which states that over 16 billion. Dollars spent on a bridge in Queensland will create only 38,000 jobs over the 5 year project. Furthermore every time I pass a road construction or city works project I see 1 poor guy working while 3 other guys watch him and the real money is kept by the contractors who pay millions for lobbyist and pay even millions more in campaign contributions to grease the wheels of legislature.

If President elect Obama really wants to put 2.5 million Americans back in the work force the solution is quite simple. Basically a trickle up economics.. Give vouchers to the poor, to do energy savings construction projects in homes and schools and low income apts. Insure that Legal construction workers do the work, and increase demand for American made construction materials. The end result being energy conservation, an ongoing cash savings to the neediest people, and increased wealth in the local economy.

Take the $25,000 per job, created per billion dollars spent and use it to hire 40,000 new immigration enforcement officers per 1 billion spent, on a temporary basis and as they deport all the illegal workers the enforcement officers can fill the construction, and other service jobs that are opened up. The savings in educating, providing health services and other resource draining costs paid by state governments on illegal immigrants could be used in conjunction with federal funds on a local city by city effort to install energy efficient windows and doors, insulation and efficient heating units in inner city and older housing units. The work would now be done by American installers with minimal training. The increased demand for insulation, heat pumps, weather stripping , insulated windows and doors would help the manufacturing industry hire more employees as well.
Predominately inhabited by the poorest in our society the savings in energy bills would certainly be spent in the local economy producing an even better tax and business base.
Now is the perfect time to write the freshmen legislators in the Senate and House and let them know that deficit spending must only be done when we can get the biggest bang for the buck...use OUR Money to produce jobs for legal American workers and if at all possible allow Our Money to do some good for the poor, and reduce our dependency on imported energy sources.

Intermittent explosive disorder
Posted: 12/8/2008 12:38:19 PM
I guess that there have been people that explode since the beginning of time. I am fearful than by naming a temper tantrum a disorder that it only feeds into the "patients" rationalizing their lack of self control. My Nephew has suffered from this "disorder" since we can remember. It all came to a head in elementary school for him. My brother with the insistance of the authorities and the school board put him on several medications over the years which seemed to help...for a while. Then he took him to a Lutheran Family Counseling Center and my Nephew was prescribed to repeat the following over and over whenever he felt his anger starting to build. Loss of temper is a moment of insanity and I CHOOSE not to be insane right now. He would then pray the Lords prayer. It was almost comical at first because he would speak really super fast and very quietly stuttering through the episode but would rarely act out his rage. Then he would say the Lords Prayer so quietly or even to himself and just mouth the words. Over a period of a couple of months they weened him off the "medicine"
He is 20 now and has not been medicated for years. He likes being able to feel the ups and downs of everyday life, rather than being an android like emotional cripple that the drugs induced. I am in No way saying that medication does not have its place in some people, or trying to say that medication does not help a lot of people with emotional disorders. I do know that in my Nephews case that learning to deal with his rage through self talk and prayer was effective; he has tried to join the Army and was refused because of his "disorder" but he is a good kid and not dangerous to himself or others any more, although I don't blame the Army for not thinking it is a good idea to put him behind the wheel of a tank or give him an assault rifle

My gf won't even let me touch her down there
Posted: 12/4/2008 8:35:35 AM
If your not making her want you touch her down there you are already doing without intimacy. Try actually listening to what she is saying and paying attention to her desires in all the other ways..except sex.... If you have chemistry and true intimacy it will take just a kiss and a gentle touch of her face, or a stroke of her hair to have her desiring you, and over a period of time she will desire you in her private thoughts, and she will want to give herself to you. Hint...never touch a woman's breast...she will place your hand there when she wants to...or nudge your elbow up or to the side to push your hand on her breast. You need to learn to have feelings for her and feel her feelings for you before you try to feel her up.. A couple of drinks sometimes help people lose some inhibitions....but taking advantage of someone who is drunk is nothing short of date rape

When is it 'new' ?
Posted: 12/4/2008 7:33:11 AM
So I am happy right now, but I think after the first of the year we need to have 'the talk' which scares me to death because I always hoped he would be the one to bring it up. I hate losing someone just because we are not on exactly the same page.

I am a bit confused now...you say "we" have not discussed buying a ring this year. And yet you have not yet had "the talk" because you hope he will bring it up.
It reminds me of the play Guys and Dolls when she says Nathen we've been engaged for 14 years
I don't see him having the talk because he is afraid you will say yes. The old why buy the cow if your getting free milk thing is cliche'...ya wanna find out what he really thinks? Take him into a jewelry store and start looking at engagement rings for a girl you know from work..a girl you know really well....one that you look at in the mirror every morning...he won't procrastinate talking about the subject..or at least not for 14 years!

Too quick to comply?
Posted: 12/4/2008 6:54:53 AM
Run away screaming!!!! If you want a pet get a dog or cat or gerbil.Do you really have to ask if she is clingy???? My dog would email and call me all day every day if he had thumbs..I know he misses me all the time ..if I play with him for hours go inside and come back out in 5 minutes he acts like he hasn't seen me for days

! 3 weeks and she is in love???? even if she is as I have heard that some people fall in love at first sight..I would still be concerned that she is so ready to verbalize such a thing.

You also state that your 50 yrs old and know what your doing....she might think that sex=love..maybe you know what your doing but she doesn't know how your feeling.
Be very careful with her heart...she wears it on her sleeve..available for a good nose wiping if your a jerk. So you have a huge responsibility, not to hurt her. If you don't feel as strongly as she does you need to make sure she is completely aware of your intentions.

Good luck...maybe you will be thankful in the long term and have found the perfect woman that fulfills all your desires and always agrees with your opinions and choices!!

What if divorce was no longer an option?
Posted: 12/4/2008 5:40:54 AM
I have to say I agree with most of what has been posted by all the responders. I think that the "commitment" question is the real key here. Marriage in the minds of most people is a legal "piece of paper". a lot of people have never been witness to real commitment, and therefore have no basis to understand the true meaning of the word.

My parents seemed to fight about everything....even the best way to load the dishwasher.

My mom was in a bad car accident and my dad was a hero in my eyes the way he cared for her, from cooking her meals to literally wiping her butt. And yet she still seemed to argue about everything. Or at least she seemed to tell him he wasn't doing anything right. And he really never argued back or let it get him down. He would just say that she is "not herself" today and let it roll off like water off a ducks back'

When diabetes began to ravage my dads body and the doctors started cutting off his foot then part of his leg and finally his leg just below the knee, my mom cared for him with unbelievable patience and Debris-ed his wounds (removed the dead black tissue) on a regular basis. She couldn't do anything right in his eyes and she would just say well he is grumpy again today and let it roll off her like water off a ducks back.

Part of the marriage vows should say something like " will you wipe my drool off my face so people won't stare at me when I have a stroke" and shave my face or put my makeup on for me when I lose dexterity in my hands because I have the delirium tremors from my lifelong abuse of alcohol. Or "tell me your name again and again when i fall into dementia from Alzheimer's" .

My parents fought a lot...and and at times seemed like they didn't agree on anything..........Except Commitment....they truly agreed on that!!!

I hope that all of you can find a committed life partner, whether you marry or not

Can American farmers bankrupt terrorisim and save the environment?
Posted: 11/11/2008 7:49:11 AM
I am confused that the alcohol lobby would be a concern... Every Large change must be taken is small steps. My proposal would be to allow commercial farming of hemp. The fuel extracted could be easily controlled through distribution to Truck stops with an additive in it to make you sick if you try to drink it, and of course the airline industry with the same additive. The immediate impact of using less oil to produce diesel and jet fuel would have huge impacts on the price of gas, and the decreased refining of diesel would free up more refining capacity for regular gasoline.I think a good start would be all government agencies to gradually replace the current fleet of cars, trucks, etc with diesel vehicles and then to only use biomass fuel.

The bottom line is that there can be controls put in place to keep people from drinking the fuel, and to some degree even from making their own, ie all commercially produced fuel has some chemical added that could easily be detected by a hand held sensor or testing kit that could be issued to the dot and police to insure that the fuel in your vehicle is not being produced outside of government regulation. Farm diesel has a coloring agent in it to keep it from being used for highway fuel.

The new jobs created would strengthen the economy while reducing our dependence on oil. In 2004 it was estimated that each acre of hemp would produce 2000 gallons of fuel per year, without the use of pesticides or fertilizer, just from the seed oil, the rest of the fiber can be used in over 50,000 products, from paper plates to clothing, rope, even biodegradable automobiles!

I hope that in the future plug in electric autos will be the norm rather than the exception, and that the electricity will be produced using solar and bio-fuel generation stations. Press-board furniture, and "plywood" will be made from hemp fiber, Plastics and Styrofoam will be replaced by hemp paper cups and containers. Hemp fiber clothing will become a sheik fashion statement, and when I am stuck in stop and go traffic behind a big rig it will smell like the sweet aroma of my old 68 WV bus!

I have to agree with Blue.....Grapevines are called grapevines for a reason...there a lot of twists and turns in a grapevine and sometimes the truth can be distorted. I personally would need proof positive before I would make such a harsh decision. Ex-do overs are pretty common...but I still would need proof.

Good Luck, and don't be too hard on yourself. I can't see where you are to blame in any way here.....

What do you think when a man continues to be a flirt when you're in a relationship with him
Posted: 11/10/2008 12:43:36 PM
I have no idea what could make him more the center of attention than being seen with such a beautiful woman as yourself. Habitual flirts are in my opinion are usually not just kidding or joking around. Just as some people use humor to really say something that they would not be comfortable saying without the "laugh" at the end.

In short I think he was being very disrespectful every time he flirted in front of you, and luckily for you he showed you just how blatant he could be before it got even more serious.

how to truly move on after a brake up with a partner
Posted: 11/10/2008 12:12:32 PM
I am not trying to be mean or rude. A bit of advice though...Spellcheck your profile for more quality responses. Do not post previous relationship "baggage" in the forums if your profile asks others to leave their "Baggage" at the curb.

If you enjoy the simple things in life then just say so...no need to expound on all the feminine things you enjoy. Most women deep down want a Man not a new girlfriend to listen all about their day and cuddle and all that stuff...... Yes women want all that romantic stuff!!! You don't need to verbalize in your profile how much we (Men) enjoy it! My brother has a similar problem picking women that eventually cheat on him. It always starts out with the "yes dear" anything that makes you happy my little dumpling crap and then the first time something goes wrong they blame him for everything. All he did wrong is let her make all the decisions, through his "yes dear" attitude. Now she loses respect for him and starts looking around for a new guy.

A Strong Woman wants and needs a strong man to be her partner. A demure woman needs a strong man even more. Very few women want to be in control of the relationship. Most want an equal say in decisions, and need to have their opinions respected, and truly listened to...But Very few will stay with a man that they can run all over. To get respect you must first earn it and give it back in return
