It has been suggested before and thus far not implemented if admin at such time deems it necessary to implement I am sure he will. At which time the numbers for the pages are on the top of the thread and the bottom for your convenience.

Try taking out the age restriction in your profile and see what happens when you do a basic search again.

Even your own age does not fall within the restriction.

Note: I do not show in a basic user search when I placed an age restriction of 39 to 45 on my profile.

Any way to retrieve deleted messages in POF?
Posted: 8/16/2007 7:51:40 AM

    Sometimes some, but not all the Mail has been
    deleted after 30 Days.

    Here is how you can check if, and what E-Mail might
    still be in your POF Mail-Box:

    In your 'E-mail', at the far bottom left ...

    ... select the desired E-Mail Correspondent from "your"
    Menu as in the Example above.

    Then click on: < View all Messages > .

    You could also just open a previous E-Mail Message,
    then click on the (View All Correspondence)
    Link in the Subject Header to view E-Mail between you
    and that User.

    You can only have a maximum of 40 Pages of E-Mails
    displayed in your Inbox and 30 in your Sent Msg/Outbox.

which means the mods must have removed it

An assumption at best but it could have happened but not guaranteed.

Thread Subject titles should relate to the topic of discussion in the post, this will help facillitate topic searches via the Automated Thread Search facility.

Thread titles that do not aid in such searches may/will be changed to suit the thread contents. Those who cannot grasp the purpose of a thread title will have their threads deleted.

Thread titles that are purposely crafted to mislead people via innuendo will have the title edited to reflect its actual content

    how many votes are required to remove a thread?

    7 out of 10

    The Vast majority of threads are deleted by the community, here are some of the Reasons why a thread may become Deleted:

    * Redundunt Thread
    * Thread Went Off Topic
    * Thread Topic was Hijacked
    * Turned into Chat Thread
    * Extensive Trolling/Offensive Topic Matter
    * Thread was severely Spammmed
    * Bashing, Insulting, Slamming other Posters
    * Libel/Slander Thread
    * Flame War
    * User Name in Thread Header or Opening Post
    * Polarized Thread
    * Excessive Sequential Replies/Post-Whoring
    * Illegal/Unlawful Thread
    * Copyright/Intellectual Property Infringment Thread
    * Non-English Language Thread
    * Improper Thread Format (Illegal UBB/HTML Code, CAPS, etc.)

    We can not tell you what happened to your Thread because:

    1. We do not keep any Records of deleted Threads.
    2. We do not remember your Thread
    3. We do not have Time to report deleted Threads.

    If your thread is suddenly gone, its for 1 of the Reasons above.
    Asking any Question beyond this point, is a waste of your and
    our time, because ...

    1. We do not keep any Records of deleted Threads.
    2. We do not remember your Thread
    3. We do not have Time to report deleted Threads.

    If you can't find your Thread, and you wish to complain about it, your complaint, like your Thread will get deleted, because we do not have Time for that. There is no bureaucracy on the Drawing Boards for such an Administrative Function either.

    Why can you not just tell me what it is i am doing wrong instead of deleting my threads or 'closing' them when I try and get some feedback???

    There are currently approximately 30,000 user online at the time of this post and approximately 5% use the forums. You do the math.

    It is simply impossible to notify all users what they are doing wrong.

    Posted: 8/15/2007 5:01:21 PM
    Whilst some have been deleted after having been read, there are some deleted without having been read.

    Unfortunately this is the plain truth for any mail whether it be email or regular post.

    This leads me to conclude that many PoF subscribers are, to say the least, discourteous.

    Matter of opinion.

    In truth, they are really quite rude.

    Your perception.

    At least I reply to all who take the trouble to write to me, if only to say "No thanks".

    Not as easy as it sounds.

    A simply 'no thanks, not interested' can solicit an extreme negative responds from some individuals.

    The best advice is to take a deleted/read deleted as a not interested and move on.

    Those who have replied have been quite interesting and it's a pleasure to swop messages with them.

    Then all is not lost you are actually getting somewhere.

    But they are in a minority.

    I always liked the minority because you are unique.

    Posted: 8/10/2007 11:43:04 AM
    Do not post personal information in posts such as users name, names, etc.

    To answer your question, you have triggered one of the filters that the user has on their profile. Check their restrictions because you are not meeting one of them.

    Disappearing About Me and First Date input
    Posted: 8/10/2007 9:53:33 AM
    I just happened to view your about me section before it disappeared again.

    I have to say the part about the Harley Manual or something to that effect in which you have two dates linked together such as this 2001-2003 is what is triggering a filter.

    Admin points out in the link below is that the filter will be triggered if there are 7 sequential numbers in a profile as it is construed as a telephone number. Reword that section so that you do not have a sequence of 8 numbers.

    (1899-1975)

    You need a sequence of at least 7 numbers to trip the filter.

    To retrieve you message you would have had to save it somewhere on your PC.

    If you saved it on your PC then retrieve it and paste it into the email that you were trying to send before the fatal error on Explorer.

    If you did not save it onto your PC then the message is lost.

    1) If someone has added me to their favorites and that someone has put in their mail settings criteria a limit, eg. age range and my age is outside that age range so normally prevents me from contacting them, does their action of adding me to their favorites supersede the mail setting? I know that is someone makes first contact to someone out of their mail setting limits the limitations are lifted, so I wonder if the adding of someone out of the limits to favorites has a similar effect.

    To my knowledge adding someone to your favourites list does not supercede mail restrictions. However, if the user chooses to make contact with you the restriction is lifted.

    2) If someone has added me to their favorites and the person is someone I have no interest in and then choose to remove myself from their list, are they notified of my action?

    Adding someone to you favourites list will result in an email notification from POF. Deleting someone there is no notification.

    Winks have been discontinued

    In its place we have virtual gifts that can be send with points acquired online.

    How points are acquired.

    Points

    You collect points on plentyoffish and you can redeem them for sending gifts to other users. Points are updated at 12:15 Pacific Standard time, if you were online in the previous 24 hours you get an additional 60 points

    The virtual gifts are a grouping of small images that may be sent with your contact email that can be redeemed with your points provided you have enough to cover the nominal costs with the points you have acquired.

    "Marital Aptitude Test"

    This is a new one for me, never heard of it. I'll have to do some searching and see what I can find.

    But I did take a Marriage and the Family course in college. He didn't. I got an A and he failed. Who knew.

    Edit: Found some titles but no actual tests

    Marital Communication Inventory (A)
    Marital Satisfaction Inventory
    Marriage Evaluation (A)
    Marriage Expectation Inventories (The)
    Marriage Role Expectation Inventory (A)

    As far as IQ is concerned Wikepedia says it all...

    An intelligence quotient or IQ is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests attempting to measure intelligence. IQ tests are used as predictors of educational achievement. People with low IQ scores are sometimes placed in special-needs education, and people with high IQ scores are sometimes placed in gifted programs or enrichment programs. While one need not consider those below a certain IQ to be "subhuman" anymore than one need consider those above it to be "superhuman", such attitudes do exist, bringing discussions on IQ far outside the purely scientific scope

    The key word here is an attempt. There is no true value in an IQ but meerly another attempt at culling the herd so to speak. Basically finding yourself unherded.

    Compatability in Profiles
    Posted: 8/2/2007 9:03:23 AM
    When I'm looking at someone's profile, and click the "compatability" links, I'm pretty sure that what I'm seeing is my own results. Either that or there are a heckuva lot of guys out there that are just like me- a very scary thought.

    At first glance it may appear that you are looking at you own result but you need to read through the results and see how the results are wrapped up for each unique user in the last paragraph titled "How does your personality affect your love life?"

    But is there any way to see your compatablity with a particular person you are viewing that is not on that page?

    Not that I am aware of.

    Not exactly clear on which message you are referring to.

    If you are speaking of the "Report Profile If Image Does Not Show Users Face"

    The it would mean that if it is not a head shot for the main images then the photo can be reported by a user on POF. This would show on your profile as well.

      Allow emails(first contact) from users
      without images on their profile:

    If you want to contact that person you MUST also send a photo.

    The system is working in conjunction with the recipients requests that a photo be sent with the contact message. If someone does not choose to enclose one then the system sends all of them. Programming does not discern between the type of photo you want sent so it sends them all.

    unbeknowest to that User

    IMHO, this is not completely true. They did send an email to someone with a photos restriction. If they had no photos on their profile then the email simply would not go through.

    Completely out of order, surely we have some rights regarding privacy here?!!

    Otherwise, do not contact users with a photo restriction that way you do not have to send any photos.

    What the hell does this mean?

    You MUST SELECT a photo to be sent with your first contact email! Otherwise ALL of your photos will be automatically sent.

    Please send a photo with your email.

    Should their be a forum section for entrepreneurs?

    IMHO, not likely to happen as it would be a haven for would be inventor, investors, promoters, spammers, etc. We all know how we hate spam around here.

    Not to mention that it would be a nightmare to moderator.

    Thumbs down on that idea.

    I am working on Vista Home Premium and as I mentioned before I am having absolutely no problem with Firefox on either the profile end or forums end as far as log in is concerned.

    Do you think reinstalling the browser might help?

    New Feature - Seduction Survey

    According to admin in his earlier post this feature is in the design phase which is most likely why there is no feedback at this time.
