pirate. to improve healing time, try this. glucosamine/ chondroitin in dosages similar to ones for joint improvement. 1000-2000 mg vitamin c, 3-4g fish oil twice a day, 15-30 g zinc and shell fish if you eat them. the glu/chon will speed the bone knitting process. the fish oils will help with blood flow and cut swelling. the mucopolysaccarides in shell fish with the zinc have been shown to help mate the bones by up to a third faster by themselves.when the pain lessens and the swelling is gone, try slowly flexing the foot without pain. the bones in the foot tend to partially calcify during the healing process costing you some mobility. i dislocated my metatarsals when i was 21 and had this happen to me. laying on your back and bicycling your legs slowly after you've shown good healing will help with the flexibility as long as you only do this for short bursts. a protein drink once a day,preferably whey will providethe extra nutrients needed to make the healing go faster.good luck.

enrique, the answer is no. there are thousands of miles of liquid between the surface and the atmosphere. jupiter has a huge gravity well that sucks objects in from all over the solar system. it actually wobbles the sun. plus its proximaty to the asteroid belt makes it an even bigger target. we are finding more stuff because our equipment is a lot better now. we already have moving capability of an asteroid. several megatons of h-bombs can deflect an asteroid enough to move it out of harms way if done early enough.

"but you said you loved me....." is used millions of times a week by women to get what they want, but it also kills good budding relationships by pushing the man away. men show love by their actions rather than words, and women know this. they just refuse to admit it. stop expecting your man to act like a woman.

try doing your arms on their own day or with abs. do supersets with negatives. go for less weight but with slower reps. people often do their arms too fast and with momentum instead of good form. try pressdowns with hammer curls, then kickbacks with barbell reverse curls, three sets each.

there are values to getting a colon cleanse done.people that eat clean and get plenty of fiber will tell you that cleansers have no value, but if you've been eating too much fast food, processed food and junk food, they can help. the dual cleanse system that has been a staple of late-nite tv does actually work and works well. if you're bloated,gassy and list-less, you may have junk in your colon that needs to come out. i've tried a few and the dual cleanse does work. it's now available at wal-mart at a reasonable price. it will start working in just a few days. if i doesn't make a difference by then, you're colon is probably clean enough. (it's the system that has klee of the pencil-thin mustache on the box)

optimistically, i'm with you on this one.black man acts belligerantly,refuses to identify himself and makes a threatening comment. yet it's the white cop that's a racist. black men can see the white mouse of racism with the visual acuity of a microscope, yet can't see the 800 lb gorilla of black racism. enough race cards are thrown about annually to fill the grand canyon,yet blacks get away with it. black men can beat white men to death and not a peep out of the media, but any perceived slight to a black man is front page news. if a white man acted like that to a couple cops he would have been arrested too. but he would have been prosecuted and found guilty. there would be no outrage from the media even if both cops were black. it's sad that so few blacks with authority demand better behavior from blacks, and the few that do are castigated by the black community. black men kill at a rate of 8-10 times as often as their white counterparts yet it's always racist to point this out. this stupidity will continue as long as blacks can cry racism and get away with bad behavior.

walts, have to disagree. kids are products of society, and society has taught them that acting badly will get them what they want. a generation of tv families that portray the man as a boob and the kids being *ssho;es, has reinforced this idea. i know several kids that are jerks who weren't raised that way. many of my male friends have told me over the years that they won't date a woman with teenagers. little kids are ok andgrandkids are fine, but ten-25 year olds are invariablyfar more trouble than they're worth.my own experiences have been the same. i won't date any woman with older kids.

men and women have different ways of looking at relationships. men are hunters, and as hunters we feeel that we only have to kill the game animal once. as long as there's meat on the carcass, we are fine. women want to be hunted regularly. they want to be dated constantly. women rule society and they make the rules for their benefit. i noticed that when i was dating steady, a whole new world was available to me. single women always have a place in society, single men have to buy their way in. we understand that changing women often does nothing good for us. the next one could be even worse than the last one. dating is a game in which women hold the cards. men know dating is like a battle, keep your head down and hope for the best.

hi dance. nice list. unfortunately, the reverse isn't true. all men of european descent(except for spaniards and portuguese) are lumped into one category. i'm irish. my people never enslaved anyone but we've been slaves. my ancestors were starved to death because of a potato blight. there was enough crop to pay the lanlords but not feed the people, so instead of taking less rent, the british landlords took all their share and left the people to starve. the atlantic slave trade was started by the portugese in 1441. the spanish quickly followed suit and the english came later. yet, only the english have been blamed for transporting slaves to the new world. re my comment on most blacks being biracial, it's the first post on these racial sites that i have seen that points this out. hundreds of comments blaming whitey exclusively for racism vs one that points out the "obvious". the attitude that it's okay to treat a white man badly because he's white is ubiquitous on these threads.

i'll be glad when those poor pawns return home. every time we get involved in civil wars we just extend them. civil wars generally resolve themselves in 4-6 years. our war, the spanish civil war, somalia,bosnia etc run their course and people get tired of the carnage. we have been interfering with the normal course of events in iraq. our supposed mission ended with the arrest and trial of saddam. our continued presence has acerbated the terrorism against first-world countries, cost this country over a trillion dollars and turned the rest of the world even more against. the world is tired of the us sticking our noses into everybody's business. we have propped up dictators around the world in the "fight" against communism. our people may be uninformed but the countries we harass sure know whats going on. lies got us into this stupid war and lies are keeping us there. let's let the iraqis determine their own fate.

nexthyme, i have walked in their shoes, both racistly and sexistly. my experience at ohsu was horrific. i was harassed and abused because i was a white male and the abusers were all white females. i was lied to by the staff and ridiculed by the white female dr who giggled at my grapefruit sized male anatomy. after ten minutes of demeaning treatment she left and never returned. after 45 minutes of sitting in an exam room in pain i went searching for her. i found her, and when she saw me she tried to duck into a room to avoid me. i caught the door as she was opening it and demanded to know what she was doing. she shrank down to avoid giving me eye contact and told me that they weren't going to do anything for me, they were just going to evaluate me. she told me that i should be thankful as i had been found not to have cancer. i told her that i knew i didn't have cancer and was there to get my male drained. when she asked me how i knew i didn't have cancer, i told her simply that i had been around medicine since eisenhower and knew that if i had cancer that i would have been already dead. i also have a knee that suffered severe acute trauma and now bends backwards over 2 inches. three female drs refused to allow me to show the damage and all three became belligerant. they all lied on a deposition to deny me ssi. racially, i have been deliberately injure because i beat 4 brothers 4 straight games of crunch. i was threatened with physical violence by 4 black racists for the crime of shooting baskets with a hot cafe-au-lait girl. curiously, these same guys showed up at the same park a few weeks later with two white girls in tow. i took a nice black woman out a few times. when we went to predominantly white clubs, no problems but when we went to a black club so she could talk to her female cousins, a black man jumped on the hood of my car and told her that no whiteys were allowed at that club. three more black guys made racists comments about me being white and a couple mentioned very loudly that they should teach me a lesson about dating one of "their" women. unfortunately, these weren't isolated incidents.

emlam, her nos are about availability. by the time blacks reach 30, the numbers show a large gap. several thousand more black males are killed than black women. tens of thousand more black males are in prison than black females. tens of thousands more black male/white female couples than black woman/white man couples. add it all up and you get far more available black women than black men. not racist,just real numbers.(numbers are annual) the disparity of availability isn't an urban legend, it's cold hard facts. i've talked to several nice black ladies who have told me that they can't find a compatible black male. the few black males that are educated and articulate in their cognative sphere predominantly date white women. whereas they are harassed by the black community if they date a white guy. may not be true elsewhere but it sure is in the pacific northwest.

news flash, the vast majority of black americans ARE biracial. if you look at the natives from the african countries where the slaves were purchased from black slave traders, they are extremely dark with yellow pigmented eyes. compare these people to the blacks from this country and you will see that there's a lot of white blood in the brothers. studies were done to estimate the % of white blood in prominent american blacks. curiously, many of the most racist blacks,including"hymietown" jackson and sharpton were over half white. of course, they were very unhappy about this and screamed racism. kunta kinte was captured by a black hunting party, sold to a black slave trader who then sold him to a white slave trader. that's why alex haley found him in the ships manifest. too bad the truth is never told in mainstream society. if blacks were told how they really got here, maybe the automatic knee-jerk reaction of "hate whitey" would go away and there would be similaer numbers of whitefemale black male vs white male black female instead of what we have today.

beth,aa is a religious organization. six of the twelve steps have god or HIM in them. you don't have to call your higher power god, but you must treat him as if he's a christian god. you have to turn your life over to your higher power(god) and pray to him for deliverance. you can dance around this all you want but if it flies like a duck,quacks like a duck,swims like a duck and waddles like a duck, calling it a mallard doesn't change the fact that it's a duck. considering that aa was started by a member of the clergy and a devout church-goer, the it's not religious is clearly bs. the meetings are based on a christian service, with everything but communion. members are encouraged to go to church and pray everyday. the big book is aa's scripture and it clearly states that it's the way to salvation. it also states that people who don't think it's way are brain-damaged and too stupid to understand its"truth"

alli, fish oils do indeed work for both the skin and nails. 2-4g twice a day with a meal should give improvement in a couple weeks. if you're smaller you can take less. i have yet to find a negative side effect for fish oils. positives, lower cholesterol and improved brain function. brain scans show that supplementation with fish oils can actually heal damaged areas in the brain. also the highe hdl levels that fish oils can generate also lower stroke frequency and severity.

lots of naivete on this thread. the speed of sound was a barrier that many thought was unbreakable. we don't have anything that they would want? heavy metals are often in short supply in older star systems. 7 billion slaves? we assume that people smart enough to warp travel will have matured enough to have put racial characteristics behind them. again, no proof either way. we are in a star system that is out in the boonies, why would they bother with us until we have evolved enough to warrant inspection. who's to say that "primitive gods" weren't space travelers? if an f-22 landed outside of ur and the pilot got out in his flight suit, wouldn't you think that the urians may treat him like a god, especially if he leveled a building with a tomahawk first? it's our unwarranted belief in our racial superiority and our "god" that's in the way here. if "god" created us and only us, why is there so much extra real estate? if the speed of light is an absolute limit, why is everything so far away? philosophy doesn't come up with new truths, it just repackages old ones. personally, i think that there are untold multitudes of other races out there. can i prove it? of course not. nor can anybody prove that there aren't.

the true numbers of abuse clearly show that now more women are abusive than men. more women get damaged because men as a group are bigger and stronger than women as a group. plus women may abuse her man for years before he finally has had enough.women talk about it so much because they are actively encouraged to do so. men are just supposed "to take it" and deal with it. girls are taught from the cradle that hitting boys is funny but they can't hit you back. tv constantly shows women hitting men with the laugh track howling. a little smack upside of the head or a punch by women is never shown as a negative. women are also taught that men are inferior beings with no rights. the phrase "it's always the man's fault" echoes tens of millions times a day to relieve women responsibility for their actions. we broke up because of him is the standard attitude in our "equal" society. she nags but he commits verbal abuse. she "lashes out in fury" but he commits domestic violence. and so on. i know guys that were "detained" by police because of a disturbance. even when there were witnesses telling the cops that she attacked him, he was instantly accused of being the abuser.

nautilus, bs. you meant it exactly how you said it. women are going into medical fields and social service in ever-expanding nos. these fields are where the jobs are being created and these jobs are easier with fewer demands and far more flexible schedules. every woman that goes into these fields isn't working in engineering and theoretical science(grade school arithmatic). no matter how good women have it, there's always a woman complaining that women are being discriminated against.

estes, smart men often do. this situation was rife with peril for the op. it could have cost him his job and even his freedom. "taking advantage" of a drunk woman can get you thrown in jail and/or a big lawsuit. his bosses, if they saw what was going on, surely would have questioned his judgement at the veryleast. since the women in these cases have zero responsibility for their actions, they can make any accusations that they want with far-reaching implications. multi-million dollar lawsuits are often the by-product of a mans indiscretionsin these cases. just like lunches, sex always comes with a price.

it's so easy to hide on a computer. an alias and no picture allows you to say anything without redress. also computers allow you to lookup arguements without having prior knowledge of the subject. many people,both genders, couldn't pull off their posts if they were talking face-to-face where the inability to make cogent arguements would be exposed.

sure women talk more, no surprise there.yes women can follow faster conversations. yes women can do more things poorly at once than men can. but smarter? no way. i'll do without windshield wipers, dishwashing machine and velcro if women do without the car, computers, electricity,heaters,air-conditioners,refridgerators,airplanes washing machines,dryers,sewing machines,trains,permanent press clothes,ovens,all metallurgy, sanitation,roads,elevators,escalators,penicillin,x-ray machines,chemotherapy,bras,sewers,sky-scrapers,gleaners,tillers,artificial insemination,garbage disposals,trash compactors,fax machines,tvs stereos, dvds,nylons,microwaves,toilets,etc. women are better manipulators but they're better care-givers too. women teachers give girls better grades than boys, that doesn't mean the girls are smarter. just given positive feedback instead of negative feedback. all girls have blue eyes,all boys have brown eyes and every day is a blue-eyed day. getting your point across so that the talkee is able to assimilate it is the true mark of a good comunicater. it's not about volume and quantity, it's about quality.

sacramento sun. you're one lucky woman. drs get freaked with such a low pulse because anything under 50 is sinus brady, and brady usually only occurs during sleep apnea. if your genetics and your hard work have gotten you there, revel in it. if you're at fifty when you start, 130 sounds like a good target zone to me. don't get caught up in numbers. if you feel you're working hard, you probably are. as drs would put it, you're a zebra in with the horses and the drs can't see that. keep up with the good work

tibet is in the news only because of the dalai lama. the tibetan struggle has been manifested as a religious struggle not an ethnic one. han chinese are over 90% of the population in china. they have never been tolerant of the minority groups in china. i doubt 2% of the non-chinese in this country had ever heard of the uighurs before the riot. considering how much american debt the chinese own, our media is stepping lightly around this issue. considering how easily we dumped taiwan( i refuse to call it china-taipei), the uighurians don't stand a chance of getting any official american support

i doubt any guy will dispute that women talk three times as much. women are crazy about detail, men like to get the message across. i have found that communication problems that women have with men is because they talk to men like they talk to women and when the men don't respond well,they think that they're being deliberately ignored. men don't care what your friend was wearing, how much her shoes cost or how he relationship is doing, we want the facts. we want to know how it affects us. on the other hand, when it's something we enjoy, such as the nfl, we get all caught up in stats, player histories,etc. and the women tune out. if it's important to women it must be important to you. but if it's important to you and the woman isn't interested, it's stupid. not always true but mostly true. read these threads and watchwomen's television and tell me i'm wrong

bear, the orders exist. too bad you can't handle it. of course kennedy belongs in a mcnamara thread. i was around during the vietnam war and had severalfriends killed and dozens more physically and mentally damaged. i remember the body counts being on the news nightly. i remember reading the quotes from mcnamara in the newspapers weekly. how he manipulated the gullible american society into believing that we were winning the war. there were neverany accounts of the unrest invietnam,the demonstrations the hatred for the american involvement there.the american people were being just as misled as the japanese people were in ww2. toobad you and logical thinking are mutually exclusive. watching fox news doesn't make you an expert. of course your diatribe on the towers is typical of a no fact intellect

the corollaries between this thread and the towers being blown up are telling. years later, the gulf of tonkin has been proven to be staged to get our country into a war. 40 years later the same thing has happened with the tower explosions. i just hope it doesn't take 40years for the american publicto wake up this time. one of the most curious facts about the kennedy assassination was that just before jfk was killed, he issued an executive order to lower us involvemen tin vietnam. scant days after the assassination, a new executive order was made to increas involvement in vietnam. coincidence? you decide.

bi-polar woman? wide mood swings, constant irritability, fine one moment outrageous the next. how is that different than anyother woman? reminds me of an episode of "spin city" nikki flips out because she overhears carter talking about someone else and breaks up with mike. she finds out that carter was talking about someone else and apolgizes to mike and he simply says"that's cool babe" she asks him how he can forgive her so easily and he simply replied "nikki, i've dated women before". seriously, according to brain scans, less than 2% of people have really good brains. our constant stress, environmental toxin life has put strains on the brain that the brain wasn't designed to handle. people can easily understand that the pancreas can malfunction yet think the brain functions perfectly all the time. check out dr daniel amen's books on brain health, the simple ways that you can improve brain function are well worth checking out.

the grammer and spelling nazis are out in force on this one. english teachers are losing power in todays text society and they can't stand it. their arrogant "learning proper english is the most important thing that you will ever learn" is being set aside, so their attitude of superiority isn't being respected as they think it should. math and science have superseded english in importance and rightly so. our modern society needs engineers and scientists far more than we need to be able to quote shakespeare.(old bill didn,t write a word, his plays were written by an italian)

a major upheaval is inevitable. overpopulation is going to be the stimulus for ww3. if you peruse third world population estimates for the planet in 2050 you will see that somethings got to give. nigeria will have more people than the whole continent did in 1950. the arab countries will be mostly out of oil with 50% more people to feed. india,pakistan and banglabesh will have more people than the whole world did pre-ww2. the staggering influx into canada and the us from the third world will tax our over-production capabilities. 18th century cultures in a 21st century world are already leading to disaster. personal projections give me a death total of well over 1 trillion without nukes. it's not a matter if but when if the world attitude doesn't change.

women aren't more involved in math and science because they don't want to be involved in math and science. duh! i was watching oregon state university graduations a while back. there was a long line of female vets with virtually no males. then there was a long line of male engineers with virtually no females. angry feminists always blame male discrimination when women don't go into male-dominated fields but have no problem with the dearth of men in female-dominated fields. why aren't men encouraged to become teachers and social workers. why no affirmative action to give men their fair share. my brother is an electrical engineer who works with a couple female engineers. they are constantly telling him that it's the women that give them such a hard time about them being engineers, not the men.

mr happy,zero died? what are you on? there are thousands that have died from steroids. they are killed by heart attacks! the left ventricle hypertrophies and the heart goes boom. regarding creatine and kidney disease, is this bs ever going to die. creatine levels are a sign of kidney disease in the UNSUPPLEMENTED. creatine is metabolized into creatinine in a one-way reaction, then passed through the kidneys. if you're taking 10 g a day you obviously going to clear more creatinine than a low-volume meat eater. ironman, different philosophies, not right or wrong. in your line steroids are a necessity, frank zane would get booed off the stage these days. i don't think sports are well-served by allowing steroids. football players that used to be 250 are now 300+ with devastating results. the higher force from the hits by men that are50+ lbs heavier has caused mre serious injuries and much shorter careers as well as shorter lives. studies have shown that nfl footballers shorten their life-spans by as much as 15years. roided mlbers have made a parody of the home-run records.

hopeful,you have a brain disorder.dr daniel amen does brains scans that chart blood fglow in the brain. at one time he had done over 7000 scans an found only about 90 really good brains. i can't tell you exactly how to treat your problem as i have loaned out my books but if you can locate one it will describe your problem and how to treat it. different problems have diffrerent solutions but high intensity exercise to get the bloodflowing in your brain, fish oils at 6-10 grams daily, a good multi-vitamin and cleaning up your diet works for most of them. he does spect scans(these scans chart blood flow, low activity shows up as holes, high activity shows up as white spots). he has done these scans brfore and after treatment and they show the holes shrinking and the white spots lessening in intensity. therapy is often a waste of time as it doesn't address the problem. you don't see a therapist for diabetes, why see one to fix a chemical imbalance in the brain. remember 90 out of 7000.good luck.

interesting comment, what... because women under a certain age have been taught that all men are stupid and interested in only one thing. same attitude. the really smart women that i've met don't have to brag about it. i've found that the women who brag the most have real problems when they're proved wrong. they can't accept the fact that a man knows more than they do about a subject. the yelling soon starts and sex cards are thrown around like peanuts. all the slanted media coverage can't hide the real facts, that men still make most of the new discoveries and inventions.
