Quick fix is either bookmark the profile or add to your favorites.
Good ideas, but bookmarking on my celly, doesn't help my laptop here at home. Also I have not found "add to favorites" on my celly either, in spite of having an icon on the home screen for favorites. When I click a profile, all I see is "message" and " view images." I'll have to click the "settings" button thinger and see if favorites is an option there.

I have the same problem with religious nutjobs that expect me to convert or in the very least accept that their 'talking snake manifesto' is more than just fiction.
*shrug*

I'm less concerned with my "viewed me" list but am more interested in my "users I'VE viewed" list. Sometimes, (especially on the celly at work) I'll see a profile, but for whatever reason cannot send a message right at that moment, then on a subsequent search a little later, I cannot find the profile again come hell or high water especially if they haven't logged in since.
Thread jacking aside, I'd rather see a way to customize our "home screen" so I can do away with the "viewed me" link in lieu of the link for who I've looked at, because I use it WAY more.

Meet me error?
Posted: 1/28/2012 8:29:57 AM
So I use the "meet me" thing to waste time and I've noticed a couple times that profiles end up in the "users I want to meet" section when I'm pretty sure I clicked "no"
Is this a problem or are you just trying to tell me something? lol

What Ive discovered about the living at home issue
Posted: 9/25/2009 6:47:47 AM
Other than YOU, who has said that EVERY SINGLE person living at home automatically means they are mooching?
Have you even read the thread? "reallycleverone" has condemned everyone living at home past the age of 15 to be irresponsible mooching infants that require 24 hour parental supervision.
I find it rather immature and silly to consider that anyone living at home doesn't have the same responsibilities to bear as a person living on their own. Please read the definition of "freedom." Having "freedom" only means 'responsibility' for those that are not responsible to begin with, whether you live in at home, alone or in a polygamist sect in Utah. Further, please explain to me the additional responsibilities YOU have living in a dingy three room apartment paying money to some shady landlord that probably breaks into your apartment when you're gone and steals your undergarments??? PLEASE TRY! I also have bills to pay every month (HELL, I probably pay more rent every month than you do). I also have a new truck to pay for. I also have to clean and maintain the house. I also have to feed myself. I also have to be at work 5 days every week too. The funniest thing is that though I do indeed have a lot of toys, I also have a financial plan that I'm pretty certain most "responsible and independant" people cannot even comprehend (which is afforded to me by having a high paying job - which is one aspect I do consider myself extremely lucky to have) .
People who believe living by themselves make them look like a "grown up" are only compensating for some other short falling in their character. It's the most feeble of power trips. It's the most pathetic entitlement. The worst part is it's actually a crystal clear beacon as to why the America housing market crashed and burned as bad as it did - house first, money later.....

Someone sounds bitter. And for the record, I don't drink cheap beer or smoke.
I think you forgot to preface your statement with "I really have no sound argument against that, so I'll just instigate with something that has nothing to do with the point at hand......"

Still haven't seen a single post yet that can support the claim that living at home automatically means you're irresponsible or mooching/having someone else pay your way. As a matter of fact, the posts so far are supporting the opposite, where independance doesn't equal responsiblity whatsoever. Not only are the independant freaks grossly failing here, but they're making their own independence look rather unsophisticated and immature.
I remember when my best friend lived in an apartment where all the other tennants (and the main reason why he left) were welfare bums that drank booze, smoked all sorts of drugs and basically lived a life of crime and "mooching" off society, yet not a single one of them lived with parents.
So best of luck picking your "independant" winner. Enjoy your cheap beer and smokes!
But I digress; this IS the internet, where judging books by their covers is not only accepted, IT'S PROTOCOL!

Not sure why you assume that a woman who owns her own home must be doing so for the purpose of having one night stands
wild guess, but it's probably the same reason that you assume that anyone living at home is "mooching"

There are certain types of debt that are absolutely appropriate and expected (i.e. rent/mortgage and car payment). If you are being "murdered" by either or both of these then maybe you are living beyond your means & need to re-evaluate your spending.
o.k. so I should have said "dying a slow death" instead. you're absolutely right, mortgages are almost impossible to go without, however I disagree with your theory that you have to be bound to it for longer than you have to be so you can be "independant."
as I alluded to before person A moves out at 20 years old and gets a $200 000 mortgage with 10% ($20 000) down payment and say the average interest rate is 5% , over the life of their 25 year ammortization period, and person A will pay out in the neighbourhood of $313k when they're all said and done.
Person B however stayed at home for several years and saved up more money and gets the same principle ($200 000) mortgage and interest rate (assuming the rates are equal for both persons and they rise and fall the same) , but doubles their downpayment with their extra savings to 20% (or $40 000), AND they knock it down 5 years to a 20 year mortgage instead. Person B will pay barely $5 a month more but by the end of it save over $60 grand compared to person A.
I know it's a hard concept to grasp, but spend a couple years at home now to save another $20 grand to add on so I can save $60 grand by the time I'm ready to retire (not to mention in addition to my RRSP contributions).... I'd say it sounds worth the wait.

so essentially what you're saying is that you'd rather date someone that will be murdered with debt for who knows how long in lieu of living alone or renting? that's "clever"....
I dunno, even though I make a lot of money - a union backed job - paying over 100% interest on a mortgage just seems like a scam to me. sorry to say, but I find it impossible to believe you'll ever lasoo a man with what you're "interested in doing." riddle me this. isn't it smarter to save as much as possible to put down a lot and lessen the interest payments by 10 or 15 or 20 years or just piss away all that extra interest for 25 years?
pardon me for supporting my family first and not a bank.

why does one assume that living at home automatically means "rent free"?
to be perfectly honest I live at home and I pay MORE for rent at home than I would in an apartment somewhere else in the city. why? because I would rather see my parents enjoy the money than some slumlord that I know I would have an adversarial relationship with.

About being a highly or hyper sensitive person

The ones who are offended easily are the downfall of society.
Everyone has to think twice about saying or doing something because someone might be offended by it and then it's too late.

Wife sues soon to be Ex-husband for 25 million for giving her an STD.
Posted: 8/15/2008 8:34:11 AM
The only thing she should sue him for is divorce. What possible good is a monetary award going to do for an HPV infection? Unless of course she plans on starting a trust to research a cure for it.
The pain and suffering she will suffer will be GREATLY reduced if she were able to travel the world and stay in 5 star resorts, live in a mansion and own a ferrari (all on someone else's dime of course).

Actually they need to do more research into getting hit by lightning. I think we're up to about 6 people this summer alone.
And for the lottery, yeah our "lotto 649" doesn't guarantee a winner so whether there are 14 people or 30 million people in on it, it doesn't really affect my chances. However, with two draws each week, if the one draw goes unclaimed it just adds to the next one. So with less people, the chances of winning a larger sum of money will increase.

but then you're isoaltion conditions.
ie. if he gave her HIV and DIDN'T cheat (it was genetically passed from the parents) then is there any place for truth and validation or just the implied risk of 'you gambled and lost. deal with it'.

I work 1:30pm to 9:30pm (sometimes) or till midnight usually throughout the week, Saturday off, and Sunday again from 8am until 4pm.
My Saturdays are often booked a month or two in advance, so I'd like to avoid the whole "Gee no one is at this pub.... where are all the girls hiding?" , and utilize a 24/7 website to arrange a Saturday at the pub so I'm not alone/third wheel/fifth wheel.

If I'm working in my yard, I stare at everyone walking by. Therefore if I find them breaking into my truck, house, garage etc. I'll recognize that they should receive no mercy when the golf club lands upside their head.
As for the pervert issue, I stare (even lust) at several new cars I see all time. Funny thing is, I really wouldn't trade in my truck for any of them.

Is risking your life or serious bodily injury for your SO worth it?
Posted: 8/14/2008 8:12:06 AM
I'd have let her continue working over herself, being sure to mention that she better not make a mess on my floor. I know it's an a$$holish thing to say, but hey, it's their life, let them do as they please.
However, if someone is trying to take advantage of someone else, then sure I would intervene. For much the same reason as it's a person's own life and they can choose to live or end it as they please, NO ONE else should harm, inconvenience, interrupt, bother or take advantage of another person. I realize everything I just typed is the entire basis for the welfare system here in Canada (I have over $1000 deducted from each pay so some lazy arse can sit at home watching oprah and going to the hospital to treat their hypochondria... please), but nobody's perfect.

Hamilton - Hammertown Hoppers July, 8th, 2008, at The Whistling Walrus
Posted: 7/6/2008 7:08:53 AM
my previous tuesday night experiences at the walrus (a few 2006 and 2007 summer visits) are this:
911 singles night means really good prices on appetizers and pints. and i mean REALLY good prices on pints. it also means NO parking or in the least VERY hard to find as they have small lot they share with montanas on one side and mexicali rosas, starbucks, pizza pizza on the other, and a large lot behind that is for winners, the mandarin and marks work warehouse. Large vehicles and trucks are quite difficult to maneuver and should be avoided. however there (was) is decent entertainment (no dancing firefighters though), and lots and lots of single "youth". i won't say it was a tense evening with all the late teens/early 20s testosterone but it did seem like a "chest show" with both male and female divsions. my friends and i never stuck around too see the drunken results but i'm not entirely sure that's where the 911 comes in...
also, if you've booked the entire patio, it'll be interesting to see how the smoking thing goes, because more often than not their patio is their smoking area.
conclusion: i have been there for dinner several times and their food is really good. as long as you're in and out of there at a decent time it'll probably be a good night.

What about Golf for a first date?

o.k. so I guess I'll be the wet blanket here.
As an avid golfer for many years, please post the courses and times that these dates will be happening, so I can book my times BEFORE them.
The one thing I hate about golf is being trapped behind beginners or people who only hit the ball 50 yards each time.

I agree with the one post earlier stating a true Professional is an adjective OTHERS give to you.
But then again, it also depends on what side of the transaction you're on. Because when I worked at a Toyota dealership for several years I could have given you a list of 10 reasons where on most cars the highly paid and highly educated "professional" engineer's "great idea" (that saved the company money) was actually a horrible and often expensive idea for the customer.

Go Leafs Go! 2007-08 Season!
Posted: 12/30/2007 2:13:40 PM
Are you a Leafs fan?
Yes and no.
No - I'm primarily a New Jersey Devils fans since the early 90s and I have the paraphernalia to prove it.
Yes - I'm a Leafs fan in the fact that I live in Hamilton, and whether or not other Hamiltonians believe it, the Leafs are the closest thing to a professional hockey team we'll ever see. Kinda like a home team advantage. However, having said that, I am the "fan" I described. I know the Leafs won't win anything. They'll have their streaks and moments and make it look good, but as long as some idiot named Bettman is in power and the ACC sells out every game the FURTHEST the Leafs will make it in the playoffs, if at all, is only the second round (and as for another note of biterness - as long as that idiot named Bettman is in power the cup will continue to be won by 'struggling' American teams).

Leaf fans aren't so much "Leaf" fans as they are "hockey" fans.
The leafs could be the Hamilton Ticats of the NHL (and they almost are, lol) and they will STILL sell out the ACC 3 times over for every game.
Toronto fans have accepted the fact that they will not be contenders, because there will never be any major changes, because win, lose or shootout, the ACC will always sell out.

Jerry Lewis helps Muscular Dystrophy blashes gays
Posted: 9/6/2007 6:48:45 PM
Basic human sensibilities should be applied to all
i think a more appropriate statement is "human sensitivities should NOT apply to all"
hyper sensitivity makes mountains out of moleholes. it also is the leading source of this exact brand of whining.
i think i'm not alone, actually part of the majority when i say i'm sick of having to hear this whining.
and the worst part is that they look to whine too. like i said in my other post, rather than educate the rest of the public, they scour every media outlet, looking for something or someone to predictably jump all over.
is it just me or is the credibility of these groups compromised because they've become so predictable and whiny?

Jerry Lewis helps Muscular Dystrophy blashes gays
Posted: 9/4/2007 6:55:54 PM
yet another opportunity for a "special interest group" (this time GLAAD) to change their name, temporarily to BISCUITS (because they're soaking it up). surely, they're enjoying their 15 minutes by REACTING to comments of this obvious tyrant, rather than educating and being proactive by showcasing the positive things their "interest group" has done.
of course they were quite busy fending off the crusade of hetero "warriors", seeking to destroy the gays (on yahoo's story ""Jerry Lewis' on-air use of this kind of anti-gay slur is simply unacceptable," GLAAD President Neil Giuliano said in a statement, adding that the comic's remark "feeds a climate of hatred and intolerance" that could incite anti-gay violence.) since this comment was launched.
i agree with what someone posted earlier. seriously how can these people call themselves "gay" when their heads are up their asses so much that any time for other appendages is minimal.
and i hope none of us end up with charges for a "hate crime" because we've equated common sense contradicts their charges.

Big dogs verses small dogs
Posted: 7/21/2007 9:17:42 PM
i'll go with neither.
my parent's dog has turned me off canines forever. far too active and needy. it literally needs to be walked at least twice a day. even then it doesn't stop running around the house and getting into things.
i'm not responsible whatsoever, so i prefer cats that you can leave home alone for a day, and they'll survive. if my parent's leave their dog alone for a few hours it has a meltdown.

Nascar can be competitive coz its it is racing against other people. But its more about the car i think.
and the car for each race just magically appears in front of the drivers?
The thing with other sports like baseball, hockey, football etc is the people are actually doing the work and physical activities.
try dropping an engine (let alone building it to specific tolerances) in a car (let alone building and setting up the rest of the car) and get back to me on whether or not it's work and a physical activity.

Do you think Nascar can be considered a Sport?

so what do you consider is the primary focus of NASCAR?
do you consider horse racing a sport? or so it's traditionally been called the sport of kings... has it not?
what about golf and john daly?

Why aRe MORE Black Women Against Interracial RELATIONSHIPS?

i want to ask all the black people here, if they grew up in a matriarchal household.
because from my experience with my black friends growing up, their moms were pretty much the boss and weren't above beating some ass. and they didn't care who saw it either. if someone stepped out of line, or didn't respect their elders, etc. they got their ass beat. i'd wager they STILL do too.
and that's where my theory lies. mom (now grandma like most people have said) is the "alpha dog" if you will, and still believes in doing things the old school way.

this surprises anyone?
gov't is too busy voting themselves a 25% raise to actually care about what goes on in their constituency.

I was illustratating how equipment focused nascar is. It's more a competition between the cars than it is a competition between the human participants.
so humans don't actually design or build and subsequently repair the cars huh? or at least the humans that, at these events are traditionally called the "teams"? you're correct in saying it's a competition between cars to an extent, but they're controlled by and created and maintained by human participants (albeit with very large budgets). whatever the name on the car is, is usually irrelevant except when it comes to constructor points and few if any fans care about them. however with the recent rash of "cheating" that's apparently been happening, it sounds like there's plenty of competition between the humans that design and create these machines.
I've acknowledged several times now the skills and stamina required to be a driver... but perhaps you missed those posts?
and perhaps you've missed my point about NASCAR being WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY much more than just a car and a driver with excellent steering ability at 180MPH. charisma and personality characteristics are almost as equally important in the drivers, because they are the "franchise player" of the team but the fact still remains, put jeff gordon in a car your local chevy dealer built (rather than his team's creation), and he won't be running up front. it's just like football, the old adage is "defense wins games" yet, the quarterback usually gets all the glory.
and about being a forum for debate, i know what you're thinking, but it is naive to believe that the majority of people can debate things in a civil manner. this is still the internet which is the equivillent of dumping a body in a field somewhere and NOT expecting the vultures to start circling.
and for the record, i also have a kind of "traditional" view of sport. I don't consider the NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA, or anything that is considered "professional" to be a sport. a sport is a group of kids playing ball in a park, or hockey on a street for no money, just fun.

more off topic. continuing with my "does it matter" post above.
the music i listen to can be largely grouped in a genre called "new york hardcore", but people are always fighting about "no that band is metal, no they're post hardcore, no it's punk..." etc.
the question i have is why? is it just a chance for someone to express their elitism? or is over compensating for missed something in their childhood? i have only two types of music. the kind i like and will listen to, and the kind i do not like and will not listen to.
what is the need to pigeonhole everything? why is there a debate over what is a sport and what isn't a sport? why can't it be NASCAR is something i like to watch, or NASCAR is something i do not like to watch?
supporting it with arguments of "it's boring" or "because i drive my car 5 miles over the speed limit, does that qualify me to be a NASCAR driver" are absurd and just looking to pick fights. all you need to say is "i do not like watching it for reasons of my own personal preference"

but how would the best of nascar drivers do if they showed up for a race in my Focus?
i love this kinda of reply. or the ones in which they state "sitting outside watching the cars go by"... it shows how out of touch people are with it.
it's like comparing the water falling out off your roof when it rains to niagara falls. the only connection your piece of crap shares with a race car is that it has an engine, a transmission, 4 wheels and a steering wheel. that's pretty much where the similarities end.
a ford focus (and almost every other car you'll ever see on the road) is mass produced on an assembly line with loads of generic technology. trust me, i worked at toyota inc. (often with other companies regarding our hybrid technology) several years ago. the generic mash you get in your daily driver off the line is made as such because they can't make it too advanced for us stupid mechanics or too expensive for the owner who can barely afford an oil change.
if you think your car is race worthy, go and see what parts your local NAPA carries for a NASCAR.
as for whether or not it's a sport, does it actually matter? either you like watching it or you don't. personally after my experience at toyota, it's all about money to me and i prefer going to the local dirt track and watching guys spin in circles. joe average that works his balls off all week and can only build a car with his extra pocket money (and small sponsorships) in his spare time after work is more interesting to me.
