And how does science KNOW that, that "noise" came from the Big Bang??
Or, Maybe Gods radio is out of tune, or...Maybe he had a chill?
Nothing is proved. QUANTUM MECHANICS....HELLO...
Or, Maybe ALL the Black Holes, galaxies & stars, in the Universe combined into ONE GIANT unkown......
Do you get it???

The Big Bang Theory and God
Posted:
2/13/2009 11:55:24 AM
I will jump in on this. I know there is a God, but maybe not what organized religion that was written by only men 30 yrs after his son died. Yes, I also believe that Jesus was his son. But, my point is not him.
This may take a bit, so suggestions for future posts accepted.
If you look at my other posts, you will see an example of why I know God exists. There is more Backup to that beyond what i have written, so I will delve in further.
I also love Science, I would say physics mostly, and this is how is in "my own brain" I have reconciled the two.
I know god exists, maybe not what organized religion is telling us "lemmings". Let me explain, On one side, I watched my healthy cheerleader 14 yr old daughter come down with a cough, that within 1 year killed her. Diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma. She went thru hell, On the first Chemo, she had a reaction to something. within 3 hours all of her skin was coming off, it is called TEN or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, I was told by the best Doctors in the world on this that she had a 1% chance of living and for me to pull the plug. I refused, by faith. Knowing that I was doing the "Right" thing.
And she did come thru, it took her 30 days of being wrapped up like a mummy, but she lived. It is like haveing 3rd degree burns over 100% of her body.
Next in this year of hell 2004, she had a stem cell transplant.
during this, on day 7 of her new birthday, she caught an infection. convulsions and all, so they decided they had to take out the tubes in her chest that they used for chemo.
key point here....
The last words my precious daughter said to me were, Good Bye Dad, I Love You, and I to her as well.
then they took her in to another operation. and for 10 days i watched over her in her intensive care hospital 24x7 i never left her side. I felt in my heart, again...i am doing the right thing...you know, helping her recover from something. 10 days I watched over her.
Then one night when I was sleeping in the waiting room, i awoke from a dream is the best way to describe it... I knew she was passing on to the next level of being... and it was obviously not wanted by me, but i knew she is ok.
So, i woke up from this dream, and just then the doctor came into the room asking me to sign the DNR form. Which I did this time because of me watching her battle so hard, and I knew in my heart she would be in a better place. 2 seconds after signing that, she went into an arrest...I felt, and still do feel that it was the right thing to do." God", a presence...idk..... came to us.
OKAY, So I KNOW God exists, now back to Science..........
There are so little we really know about the very large and very small.
Think of, well when I was a kid, they taught Atoms, electrons, protons, nucleus, etc...
little items spinning around each other.
Now lets step a bit bigger...Human cells are made of lots of atoms and they move around, sometimes itch and we scratch them. Or maybe, we are a white blood cell, maybe cancer.
CHART
=========================================================
1. MICROSCOPIC
2. SMALL
3. MEDIUM
4. LARGE
5. GOD
IS TO..
A.ATOMS, PROTONS, ELECTRONS etc
B. OUR CELLS,CELL MEMBRANE,NUCLEUS,
C. SUN, EARTH, MOON SOLAR SYSTEM,
D. GALIXIES, BLACK HOLES, WHITE HOLES
E, BIG BANG, UNIVERSES TOUCHING EACH OTHER INTO EXISTENCE
=======================================================
Right here is where I wonder about, is our entire knowledge of the universe is just one cell within God?
If it was, then even our science cannot probe far enough to see if there is another cell.
Never mind the extremely small, quantum mechanics or M-Theory, Or Black holes? What can they tell us about the singularity?
Here is my dum ass idea, when one dies, their energy(string theory) just changes forms. maybe in the next existence, or heaven, maybe a quantum shift, is being aware of the smaller items like the itchy cell/universe and u scratch it. And even then, You being "God", have your own limitations or sphere of influence.
Never Mind the whole Time issue.
OK...FLAME AWAY.

Talking with a stroke victim
Posted:
2/12/2009 7:46:55 PM
First let me say, I am in now way a doctor.
But my Mom also went thru the same thing, we call her left arm "fred".
It is extremely hard for not only you and your family, but it is tearing him up inside, maybe he just can't get the words formed and then he gets frustrated.
Typically a stroke paralyzes one side of the brain, and that effects the other side of his body.
My mom had hers in 2000 he she has battled through, but it has been so frustrating for her. I think of it like this, she has to learn how to do all those things she could before. or at least most of them. Baby steps, and slowly the brain will work around the troubled spots.
Especially concentrate on communication, that is his key to the outside world. We tried alot, and finally came up with a notepad...like in school...and she would write/scribble, as best she could using her good non-primary arm.
We called ours her memory book. easy to write on, lots of pages, maybe have a pen attached.
Then after time, u get used to what they are trying to communicate.
hope this helps,
Best of wishes
lol...when i first saw her after the stroke...we were trying to lift her spirits...so I said, "Hi, do you know my name?? It is Bill Gates, I am your son"
Cracked her up, and for like a yr after the stoke, she still called me that with a laugh... and i know i can still call her and say, "Hi, it is your son, Bill Gates" and she CRACKS UP!

Lori922, I disagree, I am just the opposite, if I look, then I am interested, but I was also raised to not be too forward. Well, on the forums it is a bit different now, but I just got into them.
If she looked back, then i thought there may be interest on her side, so that would affect how I proceed from there, maybe a quick hello, how are u type email.
But, I am single, so what do I know.

That is my point, the start of the responses, has that been proven?
=============
but lets say we back up at 99.99% the speed of light. Yes, the light leaving the headlamps would travel forward at the speed of light.
&
For both of these observations to be true something else has to be happening.
=============
What about Cosmic inflation? Did SOMETHING go faster than light?
If yes, therefor, it is possible for SOMETHING, SOMEWAY to go faster than light. It is very frustrating to me, people hold back their thoughts because this is drilled into them.
or. what about quantum partials, not that I understand that either..
Our understanding of what occurred in the first fraction of a second of our universe and what implications those changes have for the universe today.
not to mention M-theory.
and the link above was also another consideration to take into account.
Sorry if I am totally missing it.

That is a tough question liveluvlaff, each situation is different. But I had to and did take a year off from work to help my child. But, I could so, I was blessed.
If you HAD to do it, you could...24x7.
Maybe start with losing the computer. And you answering any calls, it seems like you are saying it is her so called friends. If you are correct, they seem like a great place to start. This so fits the movie i just saw last night...maybe that is the answer, Go see Gran Torino, with your daughter!! Good Luck

You have to go see Gran Torino, it demonstrates what all people should do.
Eastwood Rocks!
That age is very difficult, you just have to understand, they are starting to spread their wings. It is up to her family to show her love and help her understand how much of a demand this would put on her. She is only 15, no way would I let mine at that age. My daughter did when she got married at 21.

my dumb 2 cents,
Do the measurements you are referring to take into account our entire galaxy is traveling at 500,000 mph? Or maybe the entire "known" universe is traveling within a larger structure. like a white blood cell with a human, or, like an atoms nucleus?
Maybe my next dumb statement has been discussed, but...
What if you were backing up at the speed of light, would your headlights never go forward?

Child Torture - Can God Exist?
Posted:
2/8/2009 8:12:36 AM
OP, I had to stick my two cents in here, I think God does exist.
Your original post, asks the following.
"This story above any other makes me wonder whether it really is possible for God to exist?
Surely even a God who is all loving and goes with the premise of being cruel to be kind can't allow this?"
God gave us free will, and with that, Man has done these horrible things. I find it more troubling that so few people STAND UP for what is right.

hmmm...good post... I think that as I am getting older (44) .
I think it is somewhat relative to each person, we all go thru stages.
young punks who want to rebel against something, partier phase, bustin your ass faze....etc
But, I think that as I am older, I am more reflective of what has occurred in my life and that can make me somewhat jaded. But I also agree that I do not worry bout the small sht. Does that make me grumpier, crankier...I think it does.

If you truly love him, and he loves you, then great sex will not go away from what you seem to share. Maybe do some little things to let him know that he is close to your heart.

little notes from her in my pocket during the day, calls and thoughtful things, knowing what I like and occasionally surprising me towards that...just the little things.

Saying something dumb when you've been drinking

hmmm, first time the two of you hit it off? ...maybe what was going thru his brain was, cool we are hitting it off.... then you say, "I'm drunk enough to be honest. I'm really thinking about how I'm gonna get back to my car." ...then MAYBE the next day u should call and apologize... on the other hand, he should have offered to come get and drive you home assuming he was sober.
I would forgive for sure, had she shown a conscious, like you are here.

My thought is it is an automatic thing, there are typically 70,000+ people on here and what percentage are changing their photos...maybe 3% or, approximately 2000 a day. or someone, like you said, clicking on it not being proper...gosh knows how many of those there are. No way can one guy do that and everything else on this web site, or, maybe it was someone else that did it, not logged off or something...idk

WTF, keep it in your pants. Maybe think of the guy who will end up with her, being delayed or smarter yet, running from whats going on here.

Very Confused

maybe it hasn't been long enough for her and she truely only wants to be friends, so in light of your child, she is trying NOT to push you away....the farther of her child. I say good, that may prevent the dad to complaining their child about the mom and vise versa. I'm not saying that might occur... I have been divorced since 1992 and it took a number of years for both of us to get to where we are, cordial.
