Crazy Adding to Favourites by Ghost Member
Posted:

Hi. For the past week or so, I have been getting like 5 e-mails a day telling me someone has added me to their favourites. When I search for the user name, I get no results. This person is also not on my "who added me to their favourites" list. This person does not exist, yet, I'm getting many emails a day saying they added me. Can someone stop the emails from coming, please?

Ok, it's not quite in the NW, but close-ish. Shantelle at Prema-Sai on 14th Street and 27th Ave SW is a machine. I find her a little too much for me and I'm a massage junkie.

Check out www.kissthisguy.com...there's a tonne of them

But it just might be a tuna dish you're looking for
You may be right, I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for

Luv....or Love????
Posted:

Don't believe in forever. Goes against our nature as serial monogamists. I believe in love certainly, but not in forever. You can love lots of people in your lifetime, you can love more than one person at a time, you can love someone for a week or for 10 years. It's just a matter of semantics for most luv vs. love. For me luv is love and vice versa.
Love on lovers!

I have a rule not to date anyone older than my dad. Heebee Jeebees. But I've come very very close to that magic number. I tend not to date younger men...though, as I get older, younger men also get older, so I'm probably becoming more and more likely to do so.
Just love! And if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with...where have I heard that before....

Recruiting Foreign Workers
Posted:
10/15/2006 11:59:42 PM
I am amazed at the bigotry, protectionism, isolationism and pure ignorance going on in this thread! Alberta is not only in a labour shortage situation, we have a labour crisis...it is the single biggest inhibitor to growth in the province. Unions have their heads up their a***s and are feeding their membership bold-faced lies about their job security and the "danger" of imported workers. I expect this kind of fear-mongering in a depressed economy, but we're booming people! There's more than enough work for everyone. And speaking of union workers, I have held one union position in my life and have NEVER seen so many lazy, whining, over-paid, under-motivated people in my life. I was shocked!
About hiring kids. THere is also a serious problem here as service and retail businesses are so desperate for people, they're offering higher and higher wages and are convincing kids to drop out of school and work full time - the money's a lot better than it used to be. The result is an inclining high shool drop-out rate, which results in an under-educated "native" population.
With a dramatically declining birth rate and a rapidly aging population here in Canada, without immigration, we would have a population of zero within three generations. That's a fact. If you're all about white power, start having kids...and lots of them...encourage your friends to do so. Move to a commune somewhere and start stockpiling weapons and inbreeding and speaking in tongues and enjoy your life. In the meantime, the rest of us will continue to embrace the beauty that is Canada - the fact that it's a beautiful, bountiful and prosperous country where there's opportunity for anyone willing to work for it.

XL vs 1X (Clothing rant)
Posted:
2/7/2006 4:57:49 PM
Totally agreed girls...of course, this conspiracy goes the other way too. There's the fact they make low-rider jeans and spandex mini-skirts in 3x. Now, believe me, I am fine with my big and beautiful body (hehe) but I cringe when I see my curvy sisters falling out of these clothes, rolls totally out of control between their shirts and their too-tight jeans that cut their big belly roll right in half completely destroying her natural curve...sigh.
Big beautiful women need to celebrate their sexy bodies (please don't turn this into a "Why do men hate fat women" thread) by wearing clothes designed for them by designers who understand how to compliment their features. And, back to the original topic, this is much more expensive than skinny peoples' clothing...which is a crime considering 60 per cent of the North American population obese.

Changing Friendships
Posted:
2/2/2006 11:33:40 AM
I think often "old faithfuls" feel threatened by new faces. They are worried you'll like the new friend better and will spend less time with them. They are trying to chase them off so they can have you all to themselves.
Try and be gentle with them...in the end it's because they love you and are scared. Assure them that you still love them but that treating your new friends badly is unacceptable. Make sure they know that you value your time with them (of course, only if that's true). If you no longer value your time with them, unfortunately, you have to tell them that too, and why.
In highschool we'd tell them to fcuk off and spread rumours about them...lol...seems easier, but I think the karma is better this way.

Is any one taking the possible bird flu seriously?
Posted:
2/2/2006 9:39:56 AM
I work with funeral directors from across the country...and beleive you me, they are getting prepared (no, it's not a big cash grab for them, more like a tsunami the might not be able to handle). Every municipality and health region in North America is preparing itself. The world is overdue for a pandemic. It's not a matter of IF, but WHEN. It may or may not be the Bird Flu (but it's kinda looking that way...more people are getting it)...it's just a matter of if it mutates to a form that is easily passed from human to human...and viruses are masters of transmutation.
Anyhoo...I don't worry about it on a day to day basis...but it will happen. And it won't be pretty when it does. When people in Canada start getting it...go out, buy canned food and stay in your house for six months....thank god for the Internet. hehe

I have some offers to post at work which is great, thank you...there are some corporate social clubs getting involved too...we're looking at lots of fresh meat...er...fish here.
I will also be looking for volunteers to work the door, run the 50/50 draw (I'm thinking Mr. Blaze and Foo Manchu would be perfect candidates for that one!), and other jobs.
Oh yeah, and Polyphemus will be throwing his boxers around...hehe

Oops, I lied. Tickets are $12 or $15 at the door. Kids are allowed if absolutely necessary...but let's face it, you'll have more fun without 'em.
This is a great venue for dancing...which I know you love to do y'all and much cheaper than the mardi gras deal on Feb 24 and 25 if price kept you from going.
I think this would make for a really fun POF gathering...of course, I'm biased lol.

Running back to an ex?
Posted:
1/31/2006 9:19:17 AM
I disagree. Mutual using is not using. If everyone knows exactly what it is and communication is good and strong, then why not? I think everyone here is making assumptions that people aren't grown ups...and fair enough...many aren't. But people break up for numerous reasons and sometimes remain sexually compatible if not compatible in other ways. If everyone involved is on the same page, grown-ups should be able to come up with something that works for everyone.
To me, there is nothing wrong with wanting sex or intimacy from a friend or an ex boyfriend or whatever. This is not a sin...like atebis said its a need for closeness to other human beings. Again, as long as everyone's aware of each others' intentions and people can be honest about their feelings, it shouldn't be a problem.
Of course, if you can't be honest and you can't be a grown-up about things, then stay away from these kinds of situations because someone will get hurt. And that's not cool.

where is the best place to look for a short term place to rent
Posted:
1/31/2006 8:56:06 AM
Look in the paper under furnished apartments and find one that doesn't require you sign a lease. You're not going to get the Taj Majal for this, but it'll do for short term. Another (scarier) option is to do the pay weekly/monthly hotel thing at the Regis (there might be others) but I personally would be too afraid to do this.
