Adam sandler's cartoon self in eight crazy nights

She pretended... to get him to marry her.
Posted: 11/26/2008 9:40:43 PM
You know, it could be the reason he (the husband in the OP) is hurt/disappointed that she lied; isn't because it was such a big lie or that he was founding the marriage on fishing; but if he was looking for a woman with whom he had shared intrests...example; I love hunting and shooting, well, guns in general*grin*...I'm probably not going to be looking long term at a man who is afraid of the sound of gunfire and has never held more than a squirtgun. This is something I would like to know about him(granted just one of many things, but still one of the things) before going too far in a relationship.

***NOW**** kind of along the lines of what the OPer was initially asking...

is hottness level of a woman a factor in men's perception/dealings of /with a woman. For example,as someone mentioned earlier;did he REALLY not have a clue that she was faking the whole avid fisherwoman thing? Or,due to her hotness, did he blind himself to the truth and see what he wanted to see?

And for her,if she was "trying to like it" because he did;which I've done, becoming interested in an activity or thing because it a big part of the other person's life/intrests...what changes after you get married? If he enjoyed sharing the activity with you before marriage,he probably would like to share it with you after marriage; so he's understandably disappointed if you're not willing to do it any more.
I don't understand why you see so many people(mostly women by the way; yes I've seen men do it but not to the extent women do) pull this manipulation stuff,act/be one way/thing/person before marriage and then turn into a total other person afterwards?
I would want a guy to know the real me and if he has an intrest or cultural aspect or something that is a major part of his life that I don't like or would have to "put up with" maybe he's not the right guy for me. I've seen women for example, marry a soldier;knowing he's a soldier and then get mad/cheat/leave when he gets deployed for 6 months saying they never signed up for this...um,yes,you kinda did!Or,here in my area I know women who have a cowboy for a husband and they married him cause ooooo, cowboys are hot;then they cry and moan and get ticked at him cause he's "off getting killed at a rodeo every weekend". Well, you might have thought of that before you married a bull rider!

O.K. sorry to get all carried away,ya'll....*sheepish grin* I have just seen a lot of this lately and it stupifies me.*sigh*

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

OP Do you think that the reason these couples are still in love and happy is because they DIDN'T settle?
I have friends that after several years together;or even a lot of years together, they are not only still in love, but are actually more in love as time goes by.They didnt necessarily all start out as physical "hotties" or anything either;but the one thing they do seem to have in common is really feeling like they'd found the person they couldn't(or didn't want to) live without.
Conversely,I have friends that married each other pretty much solely because of their attractiveness level;they might still be married after a few years, but you can tell they don't share the bond the aforementioned couples do.

I've been thinking pretty much the same questions to myself that you are asking and I realize that at the end of the day I only want to marry a man who I feel lucky to be with(the whole man,not his looks) and who feels the same about me;and I would rather wait for that than settle for something less just because I don't have a "good" reason not to.

hope that helped a wee bit! *the wild irish rose*

Ever seen a mail order husband?
Posted: 11/1/2008 6:34:37 PM
Gee the mail order husband thing might be a good thing for western Canada to try out...I know I for one would order a nice big Albertan or British Colombian man (now I know that not all Albertan or BC man are big bit Ive seen enough over 6 footer that look like they could do a fine job in hockey, steer wrestling or linebacking to know that AB and BC are hiding a goood fair share of em,eh!!!!)

Or Scotland; that would be another country that might want to think about starting a program.

*insert wicked grin here

In all seriousness though; I did see a news bit a while back on Wales; apparently there is a lack of young (20's-40's) women staying in the more rural farming areas of Wales;and the poor, lonely dairy farmers cant find wives and dont really have time (gotta be home by 4 pm for chores) to go to the cities and look for women; so they put their faces and profiles on milk cartons! The project was called "Fancy a Farmer" ....wonder how it turned out??? some of these guys werent too bad (course I kinda like farmers...and ranchers...and builders, loggers, hunters,mounties,soldiers,firemen........*grin*)

Hottest Movie Scenes
Posted: 10/31/2008 8:27:23 PM
John Cleese and his wife in the classroom in The Meaning of life

haa haa

no; but seriously; the brief scene in the beginning of We Own the Night, the Lionidus and his queen scene in 300 (well, just watching Gerard Butlers half naked body for the whole movie kinda did it for me...lol) and for hotness that isnt actual sex; any scene between the Phantom and Christine from Phantom of the Opera(the version w/ Gerard Butler)

I'm sure I can come up with a few more but its late and I'm tired and now I have Gerard Butler on my mind *sigh*

Oh, and a few scenes from Quills...
and Poison Ivy- the one with drew barrymore

My theory on big guys (no not talking about his *****)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>quote>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Essentially accurate. However, primitive man didn't have the .416 Remington Magnum rifle and the .500 Linebaugh revolver. I'm 48 years old and enjoy hunting bears; there isn't a black bear on the planet that could make me want to run. As to brown bears... well, I'm just too old and too slow and too set in my ways to run. I also have a .416 Remington Magnum and a .500 Linebaugh... and I can handle both.

Funk'n'Wagnells mate, are you serious? You shoot BEARS? Arent' they protected or something? That's disgusting. I'd rather go out with a fat dude any day than someone who gets their jollies from killing wildlife.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>quote>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I hunt bears! And black bear btw makes the best sausage and jerky you will ever in yout life eat! And I'm a girl!

ok so I know thats considered weird/cruel by most people of my gender but bear really does taste good and its awesome to be in the woods and the whole adrenaline rush and the solitude and the hunt.....

Scottish recipes .

HA!! I was just going to look up a proper recipe for these.... I'm a cook on a ranch and I want to do a good winter breakfast for the guys....and I wanted to make these...but last time I made them (to go alongside of a Guinness stew--lol I AM half Irish *grin*) when I put them in the fryer the sausage shrunk from around the top part of the egg...do you think if I put the egg in w/ it that will help? I was considering breadcrumbs...maybe both???

Bouncing Boobs Right Kind of Bra
Posted: 10/26/2008 12:54:56 AM
I dont know if this will help but I used to go to victorias secret but it seems to me their sizes are changing and so I found a really nice style made by Bali (jc pennys, macys, kohls etc) I think its called seductive curves.Anyway it does a nice job if you get the right size;and its pretty, and plunge, and not like battle armor;but really holds well, and shapes well;I wear it even horseback riding(I give trail rides on the ranch I work on) and I wont say there is no bounce whatsoever-for that check into duct tape *grin*- but it does its job;and I'm hardly flatchested.*grin*

Curvy Vs Slim
Posted: 10/26/2008 12:15:28 AM
question for you guys....

In general (and I realize every guy is different) if you had to draw a line between "curvy" and "fat" where would it be? If people are referring to Demi Moore (in a earlier post for example) as curvy....then my definition must be way off. I would define curvy more like Kate Winslett or the like ...as in a curvacious hourglass figure. I ask this because I'm 5'2" and very curvy. The smallest size jeans Ive been in since the age of 16 is a 6;but that was after a 28 day water fast while working on an amish dairy farm. And at that point my hip bones were sticking out and I looked like a sick cow. *grin* I'm currently a 10 after having lost about 30 lb. this past summer (working on a ranch will do that to you..lol.) and I'm still losing weight but I'm never going to be (comfortably) less than an 8 or so.Now,after all that preamble here is my point...I have a lot (upwards of ten) guy friends that SAID they liked curves on a woman but ended up marrying ummm.....well,lets just nicely say verrrry slender girls. So, is your average guys definition of "curvy" more accurately "slender" or is it just coincedence or am I just not meeting the right guys? One last interjection...I could understand if I was just some lieabout watching soaps and eating junkfood; but to the contrary;I can out-run,bike,ride,swim and skate some girls that are skinnier than me;Im very active; a total natural/whole foods/nearly vegan;etc.; so,is not being a size 6 THAT big of a hurdle for a man? Am I expecting too much? C'mon guys help me out here, please!
