Sorry to hear that people aren't receiving replies.
If the message contains more than just a hello with a smiley face, then it should be replied to.
I will reply to a message and give the sender the opportunity to send more info. Usually the person wants to skip the "getting to know you" part and move to bedroom.
I hope people don't get so discouraged that they give up.

Summerisde Coffe Meets-- need some help organizing
Posted:

We sure did!!! I can't wait to get settled into my home again so I can make some plans. The house is undergoing major renovations and I've been a gypsy for the last month! lol
Maybe I'll try to get something going about mid November.
The coffee meets that I attended before were a big hit. Once we get a few regulars we can move the location to play pool and get some munchies.

what to do in NOVA SCOTIA

A visit to Mahone Bay would be a great stop. It is a beautiful old village. Peggy's Cove is a must see. I know the tourists flock there like crows on a loaf of bread, but it is so worth seeing. If you head to Peggy's Cove on the Prospect Road, there is a place off the main track, McGrath's Cove (& other small places), that is well worth the drive. There is a blacksmith's shop around there somewhere that does nice work. Plus it is interesting to watch things being pounded into shape. I have done the drive around the loop of Halifax to Yarmouth through the Valley (plus many other places) back to Halifax. Depending on your interests, there is alot to see. The hydro dam was really interesting.
Have a great trip.

Pick a time and place, then post it in the events thread. You need the postal code of the place where the meet will be.
From experience, it will start off slow but within a few weeks the numbers will grow.
I hope to get to a few of them.

I'm open to suggestions as to when & where we meet. Once we get a few coming out, it would be nice to do something as a group (pool, bowling, whatever).

I'm sorry to say no one showed up today. Unless, they were there and were too shy to speak to me. I'm not sure when the next coffee meet will be as I start work on Monday.

I plan on posting a coffee meet for May 3rd. Haven't decided if it should be Summerside or Charlottetown! lol I'll see what interest is sparked here & then decide. I'll post in the events thread on Thursday.
A lobster feast, bbq, pot luck meal - all can be such fun. There are kitchen shelters in various parks that are free to use. I know of ones in the National Park in Cavendish/North Rustico. What is available around Charlottetown & Summerside? The less people have to travel, the better the turn out might be.

I really like the idea of meeting at the F. W Restaurant as it is just down the road from me!! lol It usually opens for Mother's Day.
A dance is Summerside is a good idea. The Knights of Columbus had been approached at one time & was pretty interested. I'll do what I can to help out. This depending on what hours I'll be working.

Attending the theatre sounds like a wonderful idea! Unfortunately I'll be staying with a senior during those days and can't get away.
When there are events happening I can usually take 4 passengers.
Let keep the suggestions coming in. I'm liking this!!! lol

Remember people we need suggestions and comments of interest (or not interested) to make this a go!!!

Is there any interest in having coffee meets in Charlottetown and/or Summerside? I was thinking we could meet on Sundays in the afternoon. We could start at Tim Hortons to see how much interest there is. Then move to other places.
When this was done before we had great fun at Razzy's and Ise's in Charlottetown. There is the Heritage Pub & Gentlemen Jims in Summerside. If anyone has places to suggest please speak up!
If there is enough interest shown I will put a post in the Events thread. It may be too late to have something on April 5th. Next Sunday, the 12th is Easter, not sure if that is a good one. But April 19th is definitely a good Sunday to try.

I am still around. I am dealing with a death in the family so not much fun to be around.
I use Charlottetown Freecycle quite a bit. It is through Yahoo. I love finding good homes for my unwanted items. Some houseplants found a good home with a very nice couple. It is as much fun to find things that I need too.
I have always used coupons, hit the sales, and reused any container I could. My vacation fund is getting larger with all the returnable bottles I have collected.
My daughter gave me a crockpot/slowcooker and it is getting lots of use!!

I had great success with the coffee meets in Summerside & Charlottetown. It seems they stopped when I left for awhile.
A dance was trying to be organized but it didn't work out.
There is a singles dance at the Charlottetown Legion once a month. But, I can never remember when it is. It would be great to go as a group. That worked out really good before.
I'll help as much as I can if anyone comes up with some ideas.
