IMO, they serve no contributive purpose at all, ...just a nuisance.
Yeah..much like your reply to this post. =(
The age forums serve a lot of purpose. There are a lot of things that people in certain age groups have in common and can post about. It would be nice to have a forum I could post in to discuss music/movies/whatever that most 20-30 year olds would be watching that some 50 year old dude couldn't possibly care about..or probably wouldn't.

CFL Opening night

Is it basically what would be a touchback in American football? the ball has to be caught in the end zone after a punt or kickoff attempt? I have read the rule online, but I still can't grasp it for some reason. Help me!
Rouge is awarded when either the ball is punted through the end zone, bounces in the end zone then out of play, or when the punt returner puts his knee down in the end zone (they then surrender 1 point, but get the ball at the 35). The reason for this is because all punts must be fielded in the CFL, there is no fair catch.
If a missed field goal travels through the end zone a single is still awarded.
Hope that helps,
Derek

I'm going to put 200 pound rocks on my couch so I can engrain a spot especially for this game. If anybody phones/pages/sends carrier pidgeon or whatever during this 3 hour time period of FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL I'll pull a Sam Jackson on their ass and STRIKE THEM DOWN WITH GREAT ANGER.

Yeah it looks like the Lions really should be in Toronto in November. If****nson can stay healthy they have the best 1-2 WR punch in the league. Going to take some excellent zone defence to compete with them from the other 7 teams in the league.

Solid effort by the Argos, Lions showed us why they are the defending champions.
I was amazed at the amount of significant special teams play all resulting on a rule change based on nothing but being able to block guys from the side.
Thats going to make for some very exciting returns.. Levingston and Bruce just became much more valuable for the boys in doubleblue. :P

NHL Playoffs: Vancouver looking for an NHL first
Posted:
4/22/2007 7:56:59 AM
Yeah. I was just steaming after yet another loss where more than half of vancouvers shots on goal came as dump-ins from center ice. What I mean is that he really hasn't even been challenged to make many big saves. In game 5 Vancouver could hardly even make a play let alone register a quality SOG. Blah...so bitter =(
Have to say, though, I was surprised to hear the shots were 18-17 after two periods tonight. I swear the Canucks didn't touch the puck on Dallas's end of centre ice for the last 10 minutes of the second period.
Yeah, shots from center ice as dump-ins (because they cant use the corners..faakin goalie) shouldn't count as SOG's.

Turco didn't earn a single one of those shut-outs either. Really boils my blood Vancouver's inability to put the puck in the net. Honestly, been scoring well all season. Sedin's are 100 % ineffective for no real reason. Blah im so bitter with this recent turn in the series.

GO NUX GO! GO NUX GO !!!
This has potential to be one of the best hockey games of the year, two super-hot teams facing off in a pivotal 2 points for each team.
Lets hope for a shootout maybe. =) However...if it goes to O/T Van should win. they are 10 for 11 in OT this year, and 3 for 4 when it actually gets to a shootout. =)

One of my favourite live sports moments ever was Kaleb Toth's goal.
Derek
And if the rock was such a great team as you say then why have so many tried so hard to go to other teams? woudln't they fight to stay there or not even think of leaving the team?
Because people live in the city that the other team plays out of. In the case of our boy Toth, he requested a trade to Calgary because that's where he lives.
I'm fairly certain he would not have left the Rock otherwise.

Yeah, maybe if your date/significant other/whatever is fourteen years old. Find someone you want to get it on with instead of just settling on whoever and you will enjoy it instead of feeling crappy about it afterwards.

If NFL were to add expansion teams...who would it work??
Posted:

I would LOVE to have a team east coast canada and one west coast canada. Here in Van there is a huge NFL following and it would be awesome to have our own team instead of that crappy, boring, cfl!!
Shut yer yap :| Lion's brought 50,000 spectators to sunday's game. Maybe if you actually spend the time to learn something new about a different league you may enjoy something new!
Might be a hard concept for someone who is 40 to grasp though..ughh why are you old sportsfans so hard set in your ways.
I'd kill to have a team like the B.C. Lions as my hometeam.

No. The Ranger's can go die in a fire. Just know that Mark Messier made an 11 year old kid cry himself to sleep on the night of June 6/1994.
...and then had the audacity to lace up the skates for the Canucks.

Dude..as someone living in Toronto..take it from me. You could never ever kill Toronto's draw. You could put squirrels with sticks at center ice..if they were wearing leaf jersey's the ACC would pack on any given night.

Of course I realize this isn't the point you've been trying to make...but you've changed your topic so many times in this thread my head is spinning. Maybe it's time to start a new one. It's amazing how a thread on Damon Allen can turn into a steroid debate and end up being a thread on baseball.
