Do you hold back in forums to improve your profile?
Posted:
6/29/2009 7:22:46 AM
There have been complaints about people not reading profiles and if they don't read those then they probably don't read the forums, but it does happen on occasion. Someone did comment in a message to me that they liked a forum post of mine after I contacted her so I am aware of what I write and I do take responsibility for it. Trying to self censor yourself in the hopes of saying the "right thing" can be tricky and a dangerous path to take.
"Hi. I saw your profile and liked what you said about forum posts."
"Thanks, but I didn't mean a word of it and was only trying to impress women that I do not know by saying what I thought they would like to hear. Hopefully phony men turn you on."
The forums are just another tool (your choice to use) in getting to know someone.

What is it about me...???

it may not be about you (apart from the fact that you are a woman), but the guy
There is the old joke about the guy who asks every woman that he meets to have sex with him. His friend asks him why he does it as it usually gets him a slap in the face. "9 times out of 10 I will get slapped, but it's all worth when one says yes".
Guys asking for 'pics' *wink wink* are just seeing how you will respond.

playing devil's advocate here:
I dated a girl and one day realized that I was the one doing all the giving and getting nothing (and no ... I am not referring to sex). Sure would have been nice to be on the receiving end of a gift or compliment ...
Not that I want to eat liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti, but some quid pro quo may be helpful.
OR as everyone is thinking ... no sex so they moved on.

bad sex?
Posted:
3/5/2007 11:58:56 AM
I was looking at the Toronto Sun the other day and the following is from an article concerning people's true stories concerning a bad sex experience. I was thinking about posting in the Sex and Dating, but these are just too funny. Enjoy
This guy was going down on me for the first time, and he wasn't doing a bad job. I was just settling in to enjoy myself, then after about two minutes he pops his head up and says "Is everything OK?" I say, "Yes, why?" And he says "My ex usually would've come by now." That's when I knew things weren't going to work out.
--Lisa
I'd been flirting with this girl all night and we eventually went back to her place. We were both a bit tipsy, and so started getting into things pretty hot and heavy. But when she slipped her jeans off, I saw that 'she' was in fact a 'he'. Very pretty, very convincing, but definitely a guy. And I was out of there.
--Brett
I'd been hot for this girl for ages and put in the hard yards with her -- expensive dinners and all. After one such night she came back to my place. One thing led to another and we started having sex. The next thing I heard was "Is it in yet?" What are you supposed to say to that?
--Theo
I was seeing this guy semi-seriously for a few weeks. Once after we'd just had sex, he turns to me and says "I like having sex with you. But I've had better." Charming.

Why do most women have tattoos of butterflies or stars?
Posted:
3/4/2007 8:27:33 PM
At a dinner party and the woman sitting next to me had three stars just behind her ear. When I asked if they meant anything she told me that 'they are just stars'. So I guess sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...
Noticed a guy had a little parachute in the vee between his thumb and index finger. Asked him about it and he said it was to inform someone in the know that they were shaking hands with a member of the Airborne. Since I was not Airborne I thought about getting a little maple leaf tat there, but haven't so far.

Exotic Trips - real or con?

I have a brother in Bermuda that I go down to visit annually and he keeps on telling me that I should bring someone as he and his wife (sorry ladies) work and can't spend the day with me. For my own safety I would only ask someone that I know and someone that I am comfortable with and is comfortable with me. Asking someone out of the blue seems fishy...
Of course if Angie Everhart wants to see Bermuda then that whole knowing someone theory goes right out the window

Saucy...
If you invite the guy in and he sits on the couch then just sit in chair and talk.
If you really want to kiss him then explain the rules before starting (kissing is just kissing and is not an invite to sexual adventures).
If the kissing gets out of hand all you have to do is whisper in his ear

okay ... sitting at the patio of a bar with a buddy and the women beside us start chatting about their (bad) luck so far with men. Opportunity to speak up? I thought so. One was a very attractive woman with red hair (I still remember her name and this is about 15 years ago).
I start up a conversation with her. I ask her where she's from. "Twenton." "Twenton? Where's that?" "No. TWenton." "Sorry ... don't know where Twenton is". At this point I hear her friend say "It's TRenton". The red hair woman thought I was making fun of her, but in reality I was just really stupid/naive. So the relationship ended before it even began.
So Cheryl, wherever you may be right now, I apoligise and I was not making fun of you in any way.

if a girl brings to his attention that he didn't call when he said he would
Posted:
1/30/2007 4:20:35 PM
OP can we have some sort of time mentioned?
Did he say "I'll call you soon", "I'll call you next week", "I'll call you Tuesday", "I'll call you at 6:37 Tuesday night" or did he just use the generic "I'll call you"?
If the guy said he'll call Tuesday and it's 6:00 pm and you have had enough and call him and ask him why he hadn't phoned when he said he would maybe he was going to call at 9:00. Did you give him any sort of grace period? "It's 9:00 and the phone is not ringing! I better call and find out why he did not call the second it turned 9!".
Of course, if the guy said he'd call Tuesday and you phone him on Thursday and ask why he hadn't called then he probably should give you a reason (even if it is the dreaded 'I forgot').
You tried to make things better with your email, but the no response speaks volumes.
Next time agree on a time (not down to the exact second) or maybe a day and mention that one of your pet peeves is when men don't call when they say they will.

Didn't somebody in NY try this? Called it Wingman or something? You paid a beautiful woman to hang around you while you were at the clubs. It was either a dating coach or the fact that you were with an attractive woman made other women more interested in you. Something like that. Fairly vague on the details, but it's been a long day...

I agree with Aussie. It sucks to be your new boyfriend when you are still hung up on the old one (you know? the guy that told you he had a girlfriend?).
Guessing that when the ex is giving the impression he wants to get back together is because he either wants to cheat on his girlfriend or she dumped him.

Girl sportbike riders, male sportbikers help wanted
Posted:
1/5/2007 2:05:20 PM
Hello. Nice R6 (got a '98 gsxr600 myself)
I've ridden with some people and have stopped because everything turned into a race or every stop light became a drag race. I'm just out there to enjoy the ride and sometimes you want to see how fast you can take the corner and other times you want to just enjoy the scenery. If you ride hard and fast all the time then you should find someone with the same riding style. OR If you do find someone that's intimidated you could offer to make him a better rider.
If you're interested in racing try a track day or two.
I used to ride with an attractive French woman who had a Kawi 750 and because of the tight leathers that she wore, she was always in front of me.

Okay this involves kids and guns so instead of just being idiotic it could have been tragic...
30 years ago or so my older brothers and I managed to get a hold of one of dad's rifles (we were as sneaky as we were stupid) and started messing around. Dad never had ammo around because he would just buy it during hunting season and use all he bought... anyway...
I pulled the hammer back and pulled the trigger. Click. One of my brothers says that I shouldn't do that cause it will ruin something or other. I pull the hammer back again and to silence the click, put my pinky finger between the hammer and what it strikes. Pull trigger and...
I still have the scar (it's about an inch long and looks like a 'j') where my flesh was ripped apart.

What bucs said "Thanks for writing and I do appreciate your interest. I honestly don't feel we'd be compatible but I wish you the best."
Of course, by not answering then they probably get the idea that you are not interested. Then we will end up with a another "why don't women respond to my messages?" thread.
I dated a black woman (she hated the term Africian-Canadian). I guy I went to school with told me that he was "more into asians". I told him that I was dating her because of who she is not because of what she is. The only problem arose from differences in opinions. I wouldn't understand something because it was "a woman thing" and if that didn't work then it was "a black thing". lol

You say that you get a good feeling because it's revenge against the guy who slept with your girlfriend when she was with and she let you for? I'm curious about why you would feel this way towards him, but feel love towards her. She cheated on you and she left you, but it feels good because when you are sticking to her, you stick to him?

So you want to know what's going on in this guys head?
He's thinking that he has found the perfect woman.
You've only had two boyfriends before so you don't have much to compare him to.
You pay for everything!
You are his personal chauffeur.
He can leave at any time and expect to come back whenever he chooses (my guess would be when he needs a drive somewhere or wants sex).
You have your own place (think he is going to help pay for rent/mortgage if you two move in?)
I agree with everyone else here. You are being USED and hopefully if you hear this enough times it will sink in. Move on and learn from this mistake.

They are not blue like the ocean
or green like emeralds that shine
Nor are they red from lack of sleep

Brown ... can't think of many words for use
Brown? ... like dirt?
Wouldn't work
and would surely lead to abuse!
So my ode to your eyes is not a success
But they are beautiful nonetheless

Control freak? or am I jumping to conclusions.....
Posted:

bubbly...
I'm looking at this two ways. The initial red flag control freak soon find your head in the freezer sort of thing OR the guy never realized that you can put butter (sorry ... margaine) and peanut butter together on toast.
Down here in Windsor, Ontario a nurse was stabbed and killed (last Saturday) in the hospital where she works by her nut job ex who just happened to be a doctor. The papers are saying that there was control issues and that she had broken off the relationship earlier this year. She was waiting for a hearing about a restraining order, but this guy killed her before that could happen.
I can't help but wonder if there was any little red flags that she saw at the initial stages of the relationship and if she passed them off as nothing. Unfortunately for her she was the type of person who saw the nice things in people... I am not saying that you are dating a potential murderer bubbly, but if something else trivial happens that seems to be blown out of proportion then get the hell out.
Sorry to be such a downer...
On the lighter side, maybe the guy has different eating habits. When I was out in Moose Jaw I roomed with another English Canadian and two French Canadians. One morning we had pancakes and Craig and I were looked at by Nick and Nicole as a couple of whackos when we put butter on our pancakes! We had no idea that Quebecers did not put butter on their pancakes or that they thought that it was the strangest/stupidest thing in the world.
Not really seeing how this helps, but it is something to think about

Crimes against humanity...
If you can, get ahold of of The Ghosts of Medak Pocket by Carol Off. It tells of some events from the Canadian peacekeeping mission in Croatia.
"What once was a chicken coop was still smouldering. The only living creature, a chicken, pecked hopefully at the floor. The wooden door had been bolted from the outside. At least one of the two people they found inside had obviously tried to escape. The other was tied to a chair. Their bodies were so badly burned it was difficult to identify age and sex. But from the long hair that survived the flames, and the remnants of their clothing, the team concluded that they were women."
"At dawn, the team began the search again. Their first stop was to examine the body of an old woman who had been discovered the night before. She had been dragged, whether alive or dead wasn't clear, out into a field on a rope. Her left breast was slashed and fingers had been cut from her hand. Both legs were broken, presumably to prevent her flight. She had, finally, been shot in the head four times after what was clearly a torture session. In the days she had lain in the field, animals had started to eat her body."
Sometimes ... I am just so proud to be a member of the human race.

Nov. 11th, Remembrance (or Veteran's) Day
Posted:
11/15/2005 4:27:02 PM
Up here or over here in Canada (depending on where you are) they are trying to get an account of war by the veterans themselves. Before these guys are gone they are interviewing them to record their memories for future generations.
If you want the truth and not some glorified Hollywood version of war, ask a veteran what it was like. A bomber pilot came and talked to us back in 1990 at CFB Comox and the stories he told. Some of the stories were hilarious and some didn't leave a dry eye in the house. We had a get together and I ended up talking with a fighter pilot (I would sell my mother for a Spitfire) who, later on, was a search and rescue pilot. I asked him if it was a let down to be a SAR pilot after being a fighter pilot and he told me that he wouldn't have traded his SAR job for anything because with it, he was actually helping save lives.
So Irishmary (loves ... if I may be so bold) I agree, the true eye witness accounts are far better. I think the US postal service is having a display of letters from veterans in Washington. I saw one from a Civil War soldier to his wife that says the only thing that he loks forward to is reading her letters to him.
What's the saying? War would end if the dead could return.

Top ten liberal lies.........and then some!
Posted:
11/15/2005 7:49:05 AM
dmotz Nice thread... long, but I'm not going anywhere for a while ...
I find that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Hopefully people think for themselves and do not regurgitate what has been told to them. This applies to liberals and conservatives (and the rest of us who just wish that the two sides would shut the hell up).
Think George is doing a good job? Fine. Think that he takes a little too much time off for vacation? No problem. You are free to think how you choose. The important thing is that you think first.
Personally, I would not want to be President right now. For that matter, the next guy is not going to have a fun time of it either.
I do not know George. Never met the guy. The problem that I do have with him results from his defending Texas against the Viet Cong threat. When in the military, I found that if my buddy was willing to do the same thing that I was doing and put his ass out on the line with me then I would do anything for him. If he didn't do his share then f**k 'em.
Death penalty? If some scumbag raped and killed my mother death would be an all too easy escape for him. I would want his balls cut off and shoved down his throat for starters! Have the guy rot in prison while he gets anally raped daily? Doesn't sound too bad. Not sure if the genital thing could happen, but I am hoping that the anal rape occurs. A quick death doesn't seem to be painful enough. And I would want this guy to pay by way of pain. If they let him out on parole? I am sure my brothers and I could introduce him back into society. Of course, then I would probably have to put up with anal rape thing once they put me away so I would be sure to make what I do to the guy worth it.
Abortion? Until the circumstances present themselves to you do not judge another nor tell them how to think. When your girlfriend comes to you and tells you she's late you will find out how difficult it is. I am for choice because I was thinking about that option when it happened to me. I was actually looking forward to the birth, but a miscarriage does tend to take the decision out of your hands. Choice? Life? You may see the other side when you/your daughter/your girlfriend is pregnant.
So let's see ... not a fan of George, not too keen on the death penalty, and pro choice ... My God! That there is liberal thinking! Does that make me a liberal? No. I am just your average guy who has an opinion on some things. These are my opinions and I believe that I have explained myself so that even if you do not agree with me you can at least see where I am coming from.

When it came down (they are planning on restoring it as there is only 2 flying in the world today) there was a chance to take a walk through. My dad and I went through the Lanc where I stopped at the mid upper gunner station and looked towards the rear gunner station.
During a mission to Germany a Lanc got hit by enemy fire and the crew was forced to bail out. The mid upper gunner noticed that the rear gunner could not get out as the station was jammed. Unfortunately, the back half of the plane was on fire, but Mynarski, the mid upper gunner, crawls through the flames as his plane falls to Earth to rescue his friend. He tried to move the turret, but could not. His friend urged him to save himself before it was too late. Mynarski crawls back through the fire to the hatch, salutes his friend and jumps from the aircraft while he is on fire. Mynarski perished, but was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions.
The plane goes down in flames in a field, but hits a tree causing a whiplash effect that loosens the rear turret, throwing the rear gunner clear of the wreckage. The rear gunner lived to tell the tale.
CBC had a show called the Greatest Canadian. You were to vote for the greatest Canadian, but in the rules they gave you could not vote for teams or groups, only a single person. I told them that they could shove that rule up their ..... and nominated the Canadian veteran. We asked kids, teenagers and kids barely in their 20s, to go overseas and witness and do horrible things. We asked them to kill people and we asked them to sacrifice themselves. We asked them to leave their families with the chance of never seeing them again. They did what we asked of them and for that I am grateful. I can never say thank you enough.

why won't a guy tell you that he's NOT interested dating you?

YES, OH YES I AM KEEPING IT CLEAN!! One thing I always do. I always, always, always have a shower half an hour just before he came over. God, I can't imagine not having a shower before any guy went down there....lol!
First off I would like to say that a shower is appreciated. I, myself, try to shave so as to not scratch your thighs...
Secondly, if you two have sex and now he is gone then it is obvious what he was there for.

How to ruin your cats day!

Okay Greanize. Here is my cat story (at the present time I have 4 because the choice was living with me or in kitty heaven) and it takes place way back when I was a teen.
My cat would realize that the alarm meant for me to get out of bed and once I was out of bed I could feed the cat. If I hit the snooze and tried to go back to bed the cat would climb up on the bed, pull the sheets back and bite my nipple! Latter on in life I found out that when a woman does it it's not that bad.

Is it time to resurrect the Rhino Party in Canada?

The Rhino Party is coming back? (the sounds of much rejoicing)
Didn't they disband when it came to light that if they did run that they would actually get elected? I, for one, am getting really sick and tired of the whole current situation. I was thinking about what to write on my ballot when the election comes (if I don't like the choices there are I usually write in who I would like) and now I have decided ... I am going to start a write in campaign for the Rhinos!

What attracts men? Looks . What keeps them interested? Personality.
Me? I am intially attracted to women with red hair (Angie Everhart ... if you are out there ... drop me a line).

And if she sleeps with you on the first date?

What do you think of him?
I have to laugh at the guys who think the woman is slutty or whatever, but seem to have no problem looking in the mirror and dealing with the fact that they just slept with someone on the first date.
I have done it and the relationships have lasted from four years to one night.
The only time I had a problem with it was when I failed to realize that sex does not mean love (I was young) and she just wanted sex for sex.
