last night there was a cartoon moon
the face so real,thought he would swoon
he drifted cross the star lit sky
the glowing orb,i watched it fly

there was a ring,with purple hue
the beauty made me think of you
while watching moon i saw him blink

flickering in beauty of who you are

we are not confined but travel far

in an ice wind from the north
the sea mist has disappeared.
the full moon has edges
and her opalescent shine
lights the forests well enough
to walk in at night.
dave told me, this morning,
over coffee at the island store,
that he had walked the trail
through the alder grove
to frank's beach to see
the reflection of the moon,
to take her picture
but his camera froze
in the ice wind, so dave,
stood for an hour
breathless, "god, don,
isn't life beautiful?"

Diving head first into the moon
At variable times along the shores of life
Dissecting and consecrating its existence

I squirm along the chasms of the unknown core
Tasting its cylindrical vitality
On the tip of my tongue and rolling it over

Swallowing it with eyes closed
For a sequential journey into a different time
Letting the music of space carry me along on the edge of darkness

The moon never lies to me
Nor lets me down
It does not hide the truth in veils or clouds of deception

A mirror of the sun
Crest of armour
Talisman of peace

Dancing gaily in the sky
It does not weep
As her shadow grows
Malignant with the sweeping hands of time

Contouring shapes and colours of an artisan
Molecular inversion
As my eyes become the crayon
My soul stirred into eternity
And my heart on fire

what a page of incredible writes
and here once again we unite on the moon's full night
so sorry yours got away by mistake, autumn fantasy,
wishing it returns to you so we can all share in it too!



as I look up to the sky in silent reverie
I am filled with a sense of deep humility
not of shame in any way
but more like one of humbled refrain

for tonight the moon is very bright
while clouds surround her eerie light
creating rings like wings of white
feelings of awe fill me with insight

Fishy your poem reminds me of the Huron Carol which is my favourite.

I don't know, Autumn....this moon kind of scared me, that's why the poem has such an ominous tone...it was super bright, and just strange....not the familiar moon I love....

Last night he stayed up until the wee hours
Of the mourn
With telescope and laptop
The air was tangy and crisp
With the lingering scent of
Magnolias and earth
His target was the moon
And it showed up starkly on the screen
Every crater and mountain
All of mankind’s dreams
Of uncovering the mysteries
Photography and astronomy
Make a great mix

But I shall use just a regular camera
The soft clouds and golden aura
To capture the romance and the painting
I will leave the technical stuff to the techies
And sit on my bench and gaze longingly up
At my tide changing dreamer muse
As he scraps the sky
And lights minds on fire.

loopy

as starlight is cast

Brizo loopy is good and it keeps us sane *grin* That's a fun poem. Shudden I lost my Dad many years ago now as well as a few other close family members and it isn't easy. Just remember them with the joy they brought into your life and what they taught to us to make us real. Rebel I love the relationship you have with nature and especially your moon stories. Fishy I didn't know that some guys get that sentimental - it's refreshing.
Full moon has passed now again but we had rain so no telescope out to grab some new pictures. My David is always trying to get the close - ups of the craters and the defined edges and it is amazing to see just how close you can get to the moon - see the mountains. But I am trying to get that romantic pictures with the clouds moving accross - more of a romantic when it comes to the moon and keep it mysterious and ethereal. Thank you all for adding to my moon collection *grin*

Perhaps you already do dance in harmony with your heart and soul Rebel?

My sun is in Cancer, my moon in Gemini
And so to see if there is any correlation
Between the astrology chart
And the actual charting of the planets
At my time of my birth
We did an experiment
And compared the two

By today’s technology
And precise calculations
My sun was in Gemini and my moon in Taurus?
Has the sky moved so far a field
Or is Astrology based on its own fictional drawings
Of the sky?

It doesn’t really matter I will always be who I am
A moonchild sailing happily across the universe
Sitting quietly outside beneath the moon
Gathering a hidden light
To weave my own magic.
