Transformed in what way karmarhine? I have heard that wearing some gems is bad luck to some people. The only influence you need is to feel good about yourself.
Rose thank you for the new poem. It's strange I never felt a sense of mourning looking at the moon. I can see how it might have been feared by those who didn't have any basis of understanding of what it is. To me - I feel complete, serene and romantically youthful. Thank you Liptofu that was lovely.

Pearl Heart ~
A heart of night skies lets us lay in wonder
Our held dreams this love blanket we slumber
Seen our skies reflection laid within our eyes
Of such heart we fall in of a comfort prized

The only pearl that I dawn in the night
Is the translucent rapture of the moon
As she peeks unabashed into my window
Her fingers entwined in my hair
As a loving mother
Or guardian of all that rests secretly
Inside my mind
Her key alone unlocks the parables
Of a curious heart
She demands nothing of the restless tides
Flowing through my veins
For she is the pantomime
Painting the pictures of freedom of thought
A pale gentle flower
A gardenia blooming in a sea of stars
She will never be alone in the vastness
Of nature’s garden
As long as I live and breathe
She alone will guide my spirit

a fire opal
shimmers with the moon's glow
while within colours dance upon the wind
a fiery substance
rich and transforming
sparkling and radiating
like the sun warming....
so both are real
when i wear opal
the heavenly radiance
and beautiful essence
of both moon and sun are revealed
helping me be calm and also fiery
helping me balance my energy.....

Thank you everyone who took the time to post. I have read that there is no correlation between a full moon and a change in behavior. More evidence has been found to substantiate the effects of a new moon on crime and accidents. We wish things into being with our imagination and yearnings.

We wish things into being with our imagination and yearnings
starlight, starbright....won't you send me Mr. Right?
make him sleeves rolled up on brawn
make him like to mow the lawn
let him build me planter boxes
I will buy him brand new soxes
cook him breakfast with a smile
and back to bed our time to wile....

New Moon ~
Beauty is the sliver exposed to our eyes
Drawn to where insight beauty truly lies
Viewing this light bright in minds skies
Envision this beauty to our minds eye

Thank you Seahorsey, Fission and Rebel for the lovely additions to this thread. It did make me feel a little cold thinking about the moon in winter and the harvest moon. I am still back on the new moon of spring *grin*

Bright in night’s skies a white heart shines of love
Blossoms of love ... reminds us of our flowering doves
Flight in these night skies ... full within our loving eyes
Enlightening our souls light within our spirit we fly high

peeking through the arms of a tree
i spotted a vision looking down on me
the moon was full....her light so bright
a total distraction driving at night
so i found a place to stop and park
to gaze upon her moonlit face
and there i saw it....so very clear
she truly was smiling and felt so near
does she always smile this time of year?
it filled me a reverence and grace
as though a blessing was taking place
as she spread her joy through time and space

Thank you all for your insightful posts.
So many around me are experiencing unrest
The moon darkens to obscurity
Awaiting the summer solstice
Tempers flare unnecessarily
Rubbing the raw edges of wounds
Wake up everyone this is not the time for war paint
Instead of trying to paint this planet green
We are in our infancy of being a human race
And we still don’t get it
Wasting precious time
I sat in the dentist office reading about the alternatives
People playing God again
To put a blanket over global warming
Cause and effect
It may be too late to stop
The cities from being swallowed
By the waters of the Artic
What will happen to mankind?
A glitch in the system
Are we all blinded?
By the dark side of the moon.

Tune of New Moon ~
Plume of heart stands on loves branch
Singing the colors upon held romance
Tones crisp and clear draw two near
Leaves of a growth nestled four ears

Reach me down my Tycho Brahe, -- I would know him when we meet,
When I share my later science, sitting humbly at his feet;
He may know the law of all things, yet be ignorant of how
We are working to completion, working on from then till now.
Pray, remember, that I leave you all my theory complete,
Lacking only certain data, for your adding as is meet;
And remember, men will scorn it, 'tis original and true,
And the obloquy of newness may fall bitterly on you.
But, my pupil, as my pupil you have learnt the worth of scorn;
You have laughed with me at pity, we have joyed to be forlorn;
What, for us, are all distractions of men's fellowship and smiles?
What, for us, the goddess Pleasure, with her meretricious wiles?
You may tell that German college that their honour comes too late.
But they must not waste repentance on the grizzly savant's fate;
Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night.
What, my boy, you are not weeping? You should save your eyes for sight;
You will need them, mine observer, yet for many another night.
I leave none but you, my pupil, unto whom my plans are known.
You "have none but me," you murmur, and I "leave you quite alone"?
Well then, kiss me, -- since my mother left her blessing on my brow,
There has been a something wanting in my nature until now;
I can dimly comprehend it, -- that I might have been more kind,
Might have cherished you more wisely, as the one I leave behind.
I "have never failed in kindness"? No, we lived too high for strife, --
Calmest coldness was the error which has crept into our life;
But your spirit is untainted, I can dedicate you still
To the service of our science: you will further it? you will!
There are certain calculations I should like to make with you,
To be sure that your deductions will be logical and true;
And remember, "Patience, Patience," is the watchword of a sage,
Not to-day nor yet to-morrow can complete a perfect age.
I have sworn, like Tycho Brahe, that a greater man may reap;
But if none should do my reaping, 'twill disturb me in my sleep.
So be careful and be faithful, though, like me, you leave no name;
See, my boy, that nothing turn you to the mere pursuit of fame.
I must say Good-bye, my pupil, for I cannot longer speak;
Draw the curtain back for Venus, ere my vision grows too weak:
It is strange the pearly planet should look red as fiery Mars, --
God will mercifully guide me on my way amongst the stars.
Note: Tycho Brahe (1546-1601) has a strong claim to the title "Father of Modern Astronomy" for his insistence on systematic observation.

I found this Dusty is this the poem you were remembering? Hi Fission your poems sounds like an old war epic and yes Seahorsey - new moon madness!

it’s said my life is pulled by the slippery moon
not sure when it’s time to shine
or crawl up into a ball and sleep
away dreams and nightmares
security I long to keep
knowing when the wheel starts spinning
a carriage ride through the summer solstice
wandering unfamiliar pathways - emotions strong
not wrong or very long before I’m
twisting and turning with mirrors and blank walls
the paradox of still being a moonchild
sometimes you just need to feel the ocean squalls
while summer folds you up into her transparent wings
only then will you shed your skin
allowing the water to resurrect the sanctity of the spirit.

I loved that picture Rose you sure captured my imagination *grin* fishy you don't have to know all the quantum physics to understand the patterns of our celestrial neighbours. Sometimes just basking in their glow rejuvinates the spirit and brings peaceful feelings.
I often sneak out on the porch at night
to gather moonbeams in my pocket
especially when vulnerability strikes
those raw chords in your comfort zone
sending tingling doubts to collide with nature
you look up and plead with the moon
to set you back on cycle
it's a woman thing to shed emotions in the dark
trying to make sense out of misplaced confidence
that was there only yesterday
I swear we have a biorhythm upheaval
cheered on by hormones
sinking deeper into the abyss
of insecurities, unglued.

mmmm.....writings here speaking from soul so clear....
so moving and humbling to hear.
releasing the chain
where once was calm
now a rising hurricane
urging you from deep within
release control, go on a whim
don't think, accept the invitation
meet under the full moon at night
when mist will cast her eerie light
resist and know this chance you'll miss
to feel the passion of sensual delight
Ethics and Supressed Desires...

Shedding the fears and settles hearts plight
Listen you too of love that blooms in this sight
Held of our darkness’ still blooms loves light

"We Had Him" by Maya Angelou [Written for Michael Jackson’s Memorial]
Beloveds, now we know that we know nothing, now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips like a puff of summer wind.
Without notice, our dear love can escape our doting embrace. Sing our songs among the stars and walk our dances across the face of the moon.
In the instant that Michael is gone, we know nothing. No clocks can tell time. No oceans can rush our tides with the abrupt absence of our treasure.
Though we are many, each of us is achingly alone, piercingly alone.
Only when we confess our confusion can we remember that he was a gift to us and we did have him.
He came to us from the creator, trailing creativity in abundance.
Despite the anguish, his life was sheathed in mother love, family love, and survived and did more than that.
He thrived with passion and compassion, humor and style. We had him whether we know who he was or did not know, he was ours and we were his.
We had him, beautiful, delighting our eyes.
His hat, aslant over his brow, and took a pose on his toes for all of us.
And we laughed and stomped our feet for him.
We were enchanted with his passion because he held nothing. He gave us all he had been given.
Today in Tokyo, beneath the Eiffel Tower, in Ghana's Black Star Square.
In Johannesburg and Pittsburgh, in Birmingham, Alabama, and Birmingham, England
We are missing Michael.
But we do know we had him, and we are the world.

Earthly beings we witness the greatest romance
The sun and the moon in the skies of their dance
Reflected loves light a grand spectacle of our night
Drawn to this faith inspires visions that are bright
Our circle in the emitting of our own loves light

Autumn...what ever happend, or what was the thread called where you asked people what kind of tree...they would want to be? I heard something today that made me think of it. Barbara Walters asked Katherine Hepburn in an interview and it became sort of a thing ...she began asking everyone that question! ? is that right?
no Moon poem at the time...sorry! Just was wondering...:)
