Nice try Poco, yet you havent rebutted one of many points I made about why McCain is the same as Bush, nor have you shown me where the clear cut difference is between the policies of Hillary, and Barack.
The original post was not about Bush/McCain. are the the same? you went off on that tangent, not I. This post is about those who are still supporting Hillary and why..were suppose to stay on topic! So I will constrain myself to the post at hand..their will be plenty of post to debate the difference!

What i find absolutely hillarious (no pun intended) is how your trying to amp up the false feeling that Hillary is being pushed to the back because she's a woman, but the truth of the matter is that any party that didnt want a woman at the head also wouldnt want a black man either!
Sexism is easily comparable to Racism since they both judge inferiority falsely based on prejudice.
I find this piece of work absurd! But hey if that's how your mind works...Bravo... That may well explain the split in the Dem party! But if what you say is true, their wouldn't have been obami or Hillary in the race...but nice attempt to make an excuse!

The GOP wants to end the right of a woman to choose what to do with their own bodies, while at the same time wanting to cut programs that help them once their choice is gone.
Incorrect again...they just don't want to provide abortion as a means of responsible preventive pregancy! Otherwise use a rubber and don't ask us to pay for your good time!

Barack overcame every hurdle in these primaries, shook off every attack and rose to the top regardless,
No he didn't and he still trying to explain himself and his past...

I love how you interject yourself here as the defender of Hillary supporters
Oh by the way I voted for Hillary in the primarys I wanted her to be the one to represent the Dems.... So we could have a real debate..

Only if you measure in terms of raw experience. Bush and McCain has been proven wrong on every aspect of their foreign policy since the beginning. They have a lot of experience---at being wrong.

Why doesent that surprise me at all, guess you tuned into Rush Limbaugh and got your marching orders to help Hillary cause she seemed like the easier cadidate for McCain to beat.
Got news for you Homie, Hillary would have taken McCain for a trip around the debate stage the same way Barack is about to!

Wrong again...Homie Hillary would have actually made this debate very interesting, we would have had a chance to listen to the issuses from a Real Democatic view point rather the the Messiah preaching from a far left Radical stance that most see as nothing more then The Rev.Wright in a political suit...Many more people realize based on his own words and associations along with Michelle just how much they are anti America!

Wow, this is too funny....... Now Hillary is the real Democrat,
Hillary has always been the Real Democrat and obami has always been the far left Radical Liberal with no experienced American hating senator, just like his life long friends....like the old adage..Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who are! Bill Ayers(terrorist)bombs America (Wright) hater of America calls it the USof KKKA...Rezco (slum Lord/Thug) Family members from Kenya (Radical Islam) That's the joke! that anyone would take this clown at his word! What word? well it will change again this week! He even threw his life longs friends under the bus for the white house, his loyality is quite impressive! America's next....Atleast with Hillary we know she is American at heart!

Keep America Sane! No Hussein...

I'm always amazed when I hear people talking about how much they're against abortion, but they are the same ones yelling 'fry him' at someone on death row. Is it all not the same.....taking a life?!

Same thing for people who support abortion and are against the death penalty.

The right is usually support the Death Penalty against abortion.
The left is usually support abortion against the Death Penalty.

What is the real difference between the 2?
I see it as. Abortion kill the person before a crime is committed. Death Penalty killing the person after the crime is committed and convicted of the crime.

Do the politicsons ever think ahead. In 18 years time. How many potential voters they lost because of abortion?

66 British Babies Survived Abortion - All Were Left to Die Without Medical Aid

LONDON, February 4, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In line with similar revelations in Canada and the US as well as previous UK reports, a government report has shown that babies who survive abortion attempts in the UK are often left to die. According to the fine print of a government report, at least 66 infants survived NHS-funded abortion attempts in one year alone.

Hope that helps.

We need Obama

I have been sitting with my next door neighbors (5 hours). They just received the dreaded phone call. Their son was hit by a grenade in Afghanistan. He is in critical condition and will be sent to Germany if he stabilizes.

We need Obama.

It's time to move on from Iraq, and we haven't captured Bin Laden. Afghanistan has more problems with the Taliban of late, and they WANT us there, unlike in Iraq where they don't want us there anymore. I trust that Obama will do a fine job as president and look forward to casting my vote for him in November.

I agree with the poster who commented on the right wing being anti abortion yet also favoring the death penalty. Some of these people call themselves "pro life", which I find laughably hypocritical.

Because I'm a funny guy... and you know I'm right that's right you laugh because you don't have a come back, except to say something silly like this!

Seriously, pleas make this a lil harder for me, i'm growing bored.

I'm not sure I can stoop to that level of mentality but I will try just for you!

In perusing these threads the obamanationites really tend to keep beating the same old drum how little barry is the messiah and we should drink the kool aid....well he's a political idiot and more and more people are seeing this... But seriously if my postings bore you, why futher torment your self with the truth...don't open them I won't be offended, besides what ever it is you would like to be harder for you? you need to seek help else where for that...I just don't roll like that homie....

Well you should care. If he is a Muslim, than he is a liar.
Presidential candidates who are liars should be beaten with sticks and forced to wear "I suck" T-shirts, not given the most powerful position in the world. IMHO

Can you name 1 presidential candidate in the 20th century who has not made public statements or promises which turned out to be false?

The should all have to wear "I suck" t-shirts, because they ALL do.

Judging by all the different positions McCain has had about Iraq, I can only surmise that he's learned about as much in his 7 or 8 trips as a cat has about it's litter box.
Ever since he's gotten the delegates, all he's been doing is sucking up to Bush. If you think his administration is NOT going to be just like Bush's, I think you're in for a huge surprise.
I truly believe that if Obama becomes president, things will greatly change... if not for a difference in strategy on major issues, then certainly a difference in politics and a more competent administration.
Look at the republican administrations... The cabinet posts in Bush's and before that, Reagan and Bush I's administrations were promised before they even got elected. One was all Bechtel people (some of whom weren't so bad, to be honest) and the latest one was all oil people (totally incompetent).
Republicans will tell you that these are "experienced businessmen", but when they actually get pushed into action having to deal with problems our nation has, they've proved to be hopelessly overwhelmed by the tasks of real jobs.
The "jobs" these guys have in the private sector aren't the kinds of "jobs" people work at. They just sit on their butts and collect dough. They're part of the "rentier" class of people who really don't have to work and their being in the administration is one case after another of "one hand washing the other" or political favors.
FEMA president Mike Brown is a shining example of that. Look at some of the other clowns this administration has brought in: Bremer, Rummy... to replace good public servants who knew their jobs and actually made the government perform well under another buffoon: Clinton.
A democratic administration would HAVE to perform much better than anything the republicans could put together. They always have.

After reading lots of political threads on POF I have come to a conclusion that Democrats on this forums outnumbers Republicans by 2 to 1. (Btw, I also visit another non-dating forum where Repubs outnumber Demos. I'm 500% independent). It made me wonder, why are more democrats single than republicans? Is it some inherent qualities that keep more democrats single???

I'm also wondering, will my chance to get a date here improve if I start supporting democratic candidates, as we all know 'most' women are democrats?

Sounds like you jump to many conclusions...
What reasons do you have for those, by the way?

Stranger in the house is so right!! The Democrats draw good people because the values of the Democratic Party focus on the other, not the me, me, me thinking of Republicans who just want to help themselves and (unprintable) the poor and the middle class. The men and women in the Clinton administration (regardless of Bill) did a fine job because they knew their particular areas of expertise, rather than being rich idiots who only care about themselves. I hope and pray that Obama is elected this Fall by a wide landslide and that he is given a progressive supermajority in Congress to fix the mess that Bush and its minions have put us in.

Republicans are NOT worth marrying. I would never marry one, no matter how rich or handsome he was. I sure as hell would not marry a Republican because of their self centered values and their constant whining about taxes. ICK. I'll marry a fellow Democrat or a Green because their values line up with mine: caring about others, the environment, and peace instead of useless war, and selflessness instead of greed.

LOL marieleah -- that would require an actual sense of humor -- not a strong suit with some Democrats.

Hillraisers are too busy getting contributions to retire Hillary's debt, and figure out whether they're going to stay home or vote for McCain in the fall to "fold".

In hopes of putting this whole "more Democrats than Republicans are single" thing to rest:

This website started here in Vancouver. The early users were all Canadian and we tend farther left than what you consider "left" down there.

The original post stated that another site he posts to is mostly Republican. Well, without knowing, I'd say it is probably self selecting. Might be focused on gun issues or other things that Republicans feel stronger about than Democrats. The ratio here probably just reflects the US today. You're not going to stay on this site if you live in a small town, because you'll whip through the available candidates in a week. So those who live in urban centres are probably 2/1 Democratic leaning now after the horrendous years of Republican control.

Nobody knows how many outtakes it took to make the basketball hoop....yes...that's definitely something on the minds of every American.

Oh, absolutely. Ya know, come to think of it, we don't know how many takes it took for Obama to get that gutterball at the bowling alley back in the primaries-- just to make him look somewhat flawed and more "human."

.... where the Specialist stated firmly how could Obama change so quickly and be in line with Bush's position... when he supposedly is about 'Change'

What's cute is how 'Bush'ers want to keeeeep pluggin the war, and how Obama is this or that, the present topic being how Obama has now come to understand Bush's masterful plan of war, and how he's somehow now aligning himself after being 'lost' for so long. That's nothing more than a moist pile of Cow Dung.
Obama, the one speaking for CHANGE... is not blinded by everything else for the sake of the occupation in Iraq. His premise is to do away with the backdoor lobbyist who are in control of Washington, who buy their way through the legislative process. His premise is to restructure America, to provide more hope and opportunity for the poor or underpriviledged, to improve.... really ... improve our public schools (Unlike Bush's "NO Child Left Behind") and to do his part to end the bureaucratic bullsh!t that thwarts our Country; things like stopping the outsourcing of hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas, or shoring up our borders, and dealing effectively with the overwhelming immigration problems we're faced with. It's about finding a solution to the fact that nearly HALF of this Country goes without medical coverage, and that millions of children and adults go to bed hungry each night.
It's not JUST about Iraq, Aghanistan, or Iran, but about the dreadful issues in Darfur and elsewhere, that truly need our attention. It's not [JUST about the cost of gas, but it very well has much to do with our dependancy on it, and our need for renewable or non-carbon based fuels. It's about bringing our Country back to the American people, out of the hands of the elitist who've robbed us of every last breath, thusfar. We're borrowing 2 billion every day from China to pay for oil in the middle-east. It's insane that we've gotten to this level, that we've been downtrodden one little step each and every day, for 8 years, and it's time we turn our thoughts and minds to something that will actually work for us.
THESE .... are the changes Obama stands for, not JUST his position regarding the 'occupation' of Iraq. Sure, Bush has gotten us in a world of shit over there, and now someone has to come in and do something about it. But it isn't just about oil, or Iraq, or the Persian Gulf. It's about restoring our Country and getting rid of the dictatorial leadership we've been force-fed for the past 8 years.

Southernlass...I wouldn't be so sure of a McCain win, not with the polls as they are today. I am a huge fan of Hillary and have stated publicly that I don't know that I can vote for Obama. In the end, though, the more I hear about McCain, the more convinced I am he is wrong for America. So, rather than be naive about the impact of my vote, I am likely to vote for Obama. While he may have gotten the nomination through manipulations by the DNC and while I don't like his move to the middle, it is a far cry better than McCain and I can't doom my country to another 4 years of Bush-lite. I love my country too much to let the election lead to another 4 years of the domestic and international travesty that we've had for the past 8. Any republican with half a brain should feel ashamed of the Bush Presidency and will vote outside their party. Of course, I don't minimize the number of ignorant people in our country - there are many, but there are many others who are waking up!

So in other words, you think that people who haven't come to the same conclusion as you are "ignorant", brainless and asleep? Wow.

There are people who are voting for McCain because they liked Bush, don't see McCain as a Bush-lite, or see him as the only reasonable alternative to a bankrupt Democratic candidate.

How'd you like it if people who didn't agree with your position called you ignorant? Bet it wouldn't feel too good.
