Maybe he found it easier to carry his G19 in their rather than in an IWB holster. I know guys who are older/don't care about looking trendy that carry in the "man-purse". I'll stick with IWB holsters, though, lol.

Or maybe he is just a different animal, that carrys a fanny pack for other reasons much less justifiable.

a fanny pack is real handy for getting to things you need very quickly like your 9mm Glock or your nitro-glycerin tablets ..or maybe your blood sugar meter and corresponding insulin shots ...or maybe someone who is deathly allergic to wasp and bee stings just might need an adrenalin shot at arms reach.... yea your shallow ..different people have special needs and some people need a fanny pack... fashion is so stupid ..I actually the other day saw a guy at a bike rally ... on a Harley ..with a leather fanny pack ...no one was making fun of him ..I would bet that it had something made of cold steel in it ..and if you made fun of him I bet he would shove it up your back side

On topic.. this topic cracks me up. I can't help but wonder how many things all of us wear that someone would consider embarrassing. I have a pair of fuchia five inch heels that I adore; some people love them; some people I'm sure are appalled but I think they're awesome.

Guys have that one really ratty pair of jeans or really loud hawaiian shirt that they adore; some have that one 30 year old hat that has seen better decades...


I only know being addicted to not only purses but suitcase sized ones... would never ever fault a guy for wanting something to haul his stuff in... that would be someone throwing a shot put in a glass house; not just a stone... but if a person is that easily embarrassed by another's wardrobe choice; hey, her loss... though some people carry off the funny with panache and some people carry off the funny with... well.. funny. But thinking we are validated by who is at our side and how well they make us look; that I do have a little bit of a hard time with... people aren't trophies, they aren't extensions of us and they aren't clay for us to mold to appear us better. They're people with their own favorite things, their own personalities and their own comfort zones. why should they be miserable because someone else wants reflected in a very specific way to their OWN comfort zone? Not fair, respectful or interesting either.


it's the little things that reflect the unique passions in us that makes people watching so awesome. Let him carry the stupid fanny pack and let him strut his stuff with it; who knows? Maybe he'll start a trend or something. If not at least he'll still be happy :)

The BF always wears his swiss army knife in a leather case on his belt along with his two cell phone holders. The kids refer to it as his Batman utility belt.
But it sure does come in handy when one of the knuckleheads locks themselves in a public bathroom stall.

It's been my experience people will tolerate a lot more
when they are attracted to someone. A good looking
guy with a fanny pack is a lot more appealing than a doofus
wearing one.

But that's just me. There's a lot of things I tend not to notice
when I'm happy or in like.

Here's another thread - along with the one about the date peeing in the shower - that I just love every time it comes up again, for all the comedy fodder.

For those who weren't here when her profile was still up, the OP was gorgeous. I imagine this probably helped her to get away with tweaking him about it... which also brought out something really deeply unattractive from him!

I mean, everything was wrong here. First, he wore it. (Yeah, I'm with her on that!) Second, she made fun of him about it. Third, and most important, he equated the choice of an accessory to being black! Now there's one of those unfortunate things you can never take back... it's like something out of Seinfeld.

But OMG, seriously, the man wore a fanny pack!

actually I have several ..I do the hiking and wade fishing thing ..they make a ready tackle box ...however I now use the ones for hiking that have the two water bottle holders on the side .... the water bottles are great for things that you don't want to get wet ..like cell phone ..and car keys with remote door openers ..I found water bottles keep water out as good as they keep water in ...but again I think fashion to be just stupid ..If a fanny pack was functional I would wear one any where ..and I really look for them to be coming back ..with all the new gadgets people think they need to carry these days ....like cell phone ..mp3 player ... I pad ....personal organizer ...pepper spray...tazzer.. glock...m16..hand grenades.. .and IEDs

and you still see them a lot with motorcycle riders .... they actually sell them at bike rallies ..made from leather ...I have even considered buying a couple ...things in your pockets on long rides are uncomfortable ...people are also buying them ..cutting off the straps sewing two magnets in the corners and sticking them to the tanks on their motorcycles ..you can even buy this ready made ...they are great for things you might need to keep at hand


eah, honestly, I'd be less weirded out if I felt their sidearm during a hug than by a fanny pack,


the sidearm is in the IWB holster ..the extra clips and ammo is in the fanny pack

I don't really care if my date is carrying a fanny pack in slacks or jeans.
what I mind is what is in his fanny ,I hate 9mm Glock ,nitroglycerin, diabetes stuffs,his walet and car/house keys. The only matter that I care inside his fanny is condom,condom.condom condom.

^^^^^^ Fanny pack or Butt pack is very common here in Reno/Sparks Nevada, women ceased carrying purses because it is swiped while they are playing slot machine/ table games even we have so many securities and cameras around the casinos.. And bags snatchers are rampant here. Most men who wears Fanny pack here are police men of duty or stings , I've seen older tourist men with Fanny pack, I guessed they have more nescessity stuffs more than walet and and car keys that doesn't all fit in their back pocket. or protecting themselfs on pickpockets. just my 2 cents.

I myself carry a fanny pack all the time for my keys and DL in a casino,cabaret or doing volunteer community work , I keep my purse in the trunk of my car.

From now on I 'll be careful not to ask an Irish man if he likes my flowery fanny ,that would be embarrassing and he will think that I am a coc ko.

My country have 48 dialects, it is confusing,like a lady was saying I feel dizzy,and it means to another dialect I feel horny. There are lots of words that are different meaning in other dialects.

I have one, and wear it according to where I'm going. i.e. an amusement park (no one wants to carry a purse!)

There are really cool ones by Gucci, Coach and other designers!

I guess I wouldn't have thought anything about a fanny pack. Most men that are active, hiking, skiing, fishing, etc wear them. I wear them, though not out to a fancy restaurant.

C'mon people let's get real. If you really want to distill it, the whole dating selection process can be considered shallow. We like what we like and take it from there. Are we supposed to date ad infinitum just to prove we've given every possible candidate a thorough 'vetting' process, just to get beyond the obvious turn offs? Everything we do says something about us and that includes fashion (mis)statements. My vote is with the OP.

ok I will admit.. I have one..yep..not kidding..i carry it in my purse..It has all my important stuff in it.I.D,cash,,ect...and if im going somewhere and dont want to carry my purse,I wear my fanny over one shoulder..I dont care what look like..Its a black one,,its nerdy,,but I will admit..I can rock that fanny pack..

I probably would have been turned off by the fanny pack.. but I wouldn't have said anything about it/made any jokes.. I just would not have seen the guy again if I thought I couldn't handle seeing it.. that would depend on how good the guy seemed in other ways (personality, other aspects of looks).
