Well if he ain't drunk, he's creating some very sobering examples of English.

Good evening all. It's still an open-door here, no matter who you are. However, if you want to banter, take it somewhere else please. And if you want to banter, turn it into poetry. Make it entertaining at least.

Here's this evening's installment. Thanks to Zee for the inspiriation:

===================

Passionate Geometry

I graced her tangents
As quickly as she defined my radius
I wanted to gauge her hypotenuse
Reluctant, she told me of
Pythagoras and his theorem
I lapped it up
I embraced her diameter
Rushed to insert Pi
In the wrong place
Failing the equation
There was no balance
The lesson was done

===================

There we go. Short and sweet -- like Gary Coleman. Well, maybe not like Gary Coleman....

Ah whatever...see you tomorrow.

he has given me hope
when he's not here I mope
he sets a blaze in my heart
because he is very smart
he has been in my mind
seeing that he is kind
want to belong only to him
for without him life is very dim........

Evenin all. Just got in from the great outdoors. Lovely day outside, though a bit too hot for my liking. Well...let's see what I have in the ol' tickle-trunk fer ya....

Oh, Bird and Goth -- thanks. The nouns are properly verbed and the poetry is great.

So...here's mine for this day:

======================

A Tale of Two Integers

An irrational and a rational number
Met on the corner
Of Venn and Diagram
Deep in commutative thought
The rational was considering
Fondling a polynomial
When he met irrational
Head on in a Boolean operation
Irrational was likewise
Wrapped in thought
Trying to define her last decimal
An axiominal bump later
They compared each other
To each other
The function could not
Be completed

======================

A little dreary but I have math on the brain lately. Dunno why. There may be more, as I haven't covered calculus, advanced algebra, probabilities and statistics yet. We'll see what happens with those later.

as always goat, yours is GREAT!......do you have a book or something that you have these published in?.......and if you don't then you really should!.....

ok another on from me:

THIS LIFE
This life has been so dark, and cold
with all The Beast of Prey,
Who can summon the demons
that are around me everyday?
This life which has been my tomb
and my heart in agony from torment,
My soul is lost and for this
I really need a God sent.
This life is where I dwell
in this lonely grave yard in my night,
I shutter at the thought
to think there will never be no light......
This life I live is Gothic somber
hiding in the underworld of gloom
to protect myself from
all the evil that lerks from every room......

just when you thought yours was dreary......then I come along.......lol

Ah, Goth. That was lovely. Thanks. I should ask you the same question you asked me...in fact, I will. Are you published and are yours collected anywhere?

Me? Nope. These poems of mine are made either the same day of the posting or improvised right at the time of posting. I haven't written poetry before joining this site. Honest to goodness.

I do have two poems published, of course not this type, but something more down to earth for the general public.....lol

I don't write poems that much, just when the mood hits me......

I will say thank you, because I consider it a great honor for you to say that you liked mine after reading what you have written!......you should really consider gettin them into a book and letting other people in the world enjoy them as much as we do in here......

I will try to post more, but mine are usually about pain, and hurt......so I don't need to get everyone depressed, so I won't post as much as you......but you are truely talented in this area!.....don't forget that!.....

Pain and hurt poems don't depress me, but I do see a lot of poetry based on it. Too many poems about pain devalues it somehow for the readers. Sometimes I write about hurt, if the mood strikes me and is strong enough to not avoid. I like poetry about the small, everyday things in life and I never see it around too much. Pain, hurt and passion aren't all the things in a life...they're punctuation marks in an existence of beautiful banality.

Can you tell I spent five years in a Yukon cabin with Buddhists for company? Good roommates, those Buddhists. Quiet and reliable...good cooks too. I never thought caribou meat could be cooked so many different ways.

But I'm off the topic. Post away, Goth. I like your stuff. As for me...well, I dunno. But I guess if Charlie Sheen could have a book of awful poetry under his belt, perhaps I could too.

I know that you can have these published, they are GREAT!......

I can tell that you lived some place other than this screwed up world!....because you are more calm and relaxed, which by the way I don't think I'll be either one of these unless I'm dead!....LOL....I'm usually on edge and waitin for something to happen!.....that is how my life has been for a very long time now!....can't really seem to actually live like a normal person, but then what is normal?......

now I'm turning this into something other than poetry....LOL.....

So I will say keep it up and I will publish some again........

btw bird how about some poetry from you?....please!....LOL

thanks again for everything, mostly for listening to me ramble on in here!....take care

Does my destiny live
in this world of cyberspace?
or is it a black dream
only in my case?

things are changin
in my paralyzed mind,
bringing me from my shadows
for him to only find.

maybe I'm the morbid flame
to help his torn and shattered being,
for this fallen angel must try
give you trust without you fleeing.

What is torn is actually whole
Rent and worn, it is still complete
Integrity intact, it lives on
Stronger than you can imagine

Destiny is a stranger creature
Than any of us can imagine
It doesn't attach itself
To anyone; it simply is

we can be the advocates
that walk hand in hand,
to battle the force
against us in this land.

please do not banish me
in this time of need,
for I feel what you can give
is much more than greed.

we have entered into this
temple we call the internet,
which will never be the same
since we first met.

Morning Goth. You got rythm...I likes it. Keep 'em coming...I could use some talent and class here to offset my bludgeoning poetic skills. I feel a little shame posting this little thing here right after you, though. Sunday morning breakfast inspired me:

====================

Breakfast, Sunday morning

I ache for Sundays
Aching for the bacon
To couple with eggs
Followed by that
Holy Trinity of breakfast:
The Milk, the Juice
And the Holy Toast
The butter seeks it's
Own level on hot
Toasted brown bread
Obeying laws of physics
I don't care to know
The eggs as tender as
Pre-menstrual breasts
Yolk barely contained
Quivering for me
Send my tongue to heaven
You grease-fired breakfast

===============

What can I say? When two sunny-side eggs lie suggesitvely on the plate like that, it sends me into a fine mood everytime. Yum.
