I am so proud to be what several have named me here.. and I took to it like a duck to water.. a Neoconservative. That's me! ... and it sure is Sarah Palin also!! Yes, indeed.

The REAL Neoconservative as defined and coined back in the early 1960s.. not the more recent Liberal spun defined.

McCain/Palin!.. Moderate Conservative/Neoconservative

The real fight will be between Sarah and Hillary. Pelosi will be on the sideline. I guess Sheila Jackson Lee will try to save Hillary.

JM(what's his middle name?) picked a hot babe for women votes.

Now you know he did it to draw more than the women votes. He is also going to draw all those single lonely horny guys who think she is smoking hot. They will vote simply because she is smoking hot gorgeous. Plus McCain might want to pull a Bill Clinton and who better than with his V.P. ?

Palin's a member of Feminists For Life. That's been mentioned widely, and quite openly.

Ever look into what they stand for ?

On its website and in its in-house publication American Feminist, FFL describes its broader vision as opposition to all forms of violence, considered as "inconsistent with the core feminist principles of justice, nonviolence and nondiscrimination" including the death penalty, assisted suicide, euthanasia, infanticide, and child abuse. FFL does not take an official stance on contraception but they do seek a traditional feminist goal of equality in the workplace.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminists_for_Life

Just wait until the extreme right voter realizes that this makes their star VP candidate a self-professed member of a group incompatible with their "hang em' high" belief system.

If she does come out strongly for the death penalty, then her own group may reject her. It would be hard for them to promote a women that was directly opposed to one of their goals.

Palin's against abortion for ANY reason.

Palin, a member of the anti-choice group Feminists for Life, said during her campaign for governor that she is opposed to abortion, even in cases of rape or incest. [Juneau Empire, "Abortion Draws Clear Divide in State Races," accessed 8/29/08 and Anchorage Daily News, "Governor’s Race: Top contenders meet one last time to debate," 11/03/06.]

That''s going to scare far more people away from the ticket, then it will bring in.

That's a hard core stance, on an important issues. For many Americans, and especially women, that's going to turn them off Palin pretty quickly.

Trust me that thought has crossed many peoples minds. Cindy had better watch out. This girl can fight, kill a deer while breast feeding and lord knows what else. I do not think Cindy can do any of those things.

including the death penalty

Yeah ok. They all say that they are against it until someone close to them gets murderd by say a serial killer and then the person that is against it wants to go out and kill the person that did that to them, themselves.

As to the booing during her speech today re' Clinton.. it was a crowd for McCain and Palin and they were booing Clinton..not Palin. Palin is being gracious to Geraldine and Hillary. This crowd in Pa gave their views on Hillary. Booing Hillary Clinton. If you had watched the speech, you would have known this fact.

I got that aspect. My reference was to the fact you don't typically want to start promoting TWO of the other party's members, as some sort of positive thing, in an election that's this close - especially in one of your first speeches.

They booed her because she's praising the other side, and that's a side that's been far in advance of the Republicans in empowering women on political tickets. Check out the history of the Democratic party, and women - then compare the Republican party.

The Democrats put a woman on the ticket TWENTY-THREE years ago.

Palin's no Jacqueline Robinson, as it were.

In a February interview with MTV, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin lavished praise on maverick Republican presidential contender Ron Paul.

She had a few nice things to say about another GOP candidate, Mitt Romney.

But Palin made no mention of John McCain.

Thanks Montreal she is the second female VP nominee.\
The democrats had the first female VP nominee Ferrorro (sp). Now they have the first African American Presidential nominee. The republicans started out ahead in 1872, now they are behind.

As one McCain aide put it: "We either get Hillary's voters and we win, or we don't. It's not a mystery."

And that is indeed an indication of just how close this election is going to be for McCain. If you are depending on the other party's supporters to get you elected - it's not a good sign of your base's strength.

The crowd was over 8,000 and would have been more cept for the space alloted. Obama and Biden held one today and drew 10,000 with plenty of room left for more...only the more didn't come to it.

Did you see these pictures, of that "10, 000" crowd with "plenty of room left " ? .

Sat Aug 30, 2008 at 0755 PM PDT

Just got back from the Obama/Biden appearance in Dublin, Ohio (suburb of Columbus). There was an insane number of people there, at Dublin Coffman High School's football stadium and astroturf playing field. Somebody mentioned the number 50,000--have no idea.

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/30/2267/37408/966/580760

Just check out the numbers of people in those pictures, which certainly seem to easily suggest your "10,000" number is totally off. You have a full stadium, and most of the field taken up by people.

Estimates had the crowd at the sprawling suburban high school as high as 19,000. Local campaign officials said it was larger than expected, especially given that this Saturday was the highest of holy days in Central Ohio: the day of home football game for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Obama, particularly, pointed to President George W. Bush's comments Saturday that the economy was making progress, even as a report said personal income in July saw its largest drop since 2005.

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/08/obama_biden_draw.html

No sign of any rock bands, or free German beer, to be found.

would have been more cept for the space alloted.

I could see how a politician's team would quite willingly choose a location that's that small, in a tight election, and with a brand new "star" VP to promote - when he's running against someone that's getting standing room only campaign stops ....in far larger locations.

If people are not showing up in large numbers for your candidate, it's a sure sign you are in deep trouble on the stump. These are free events, open to anyone who wants to go.

If Palin's new "buzz" didn't bring lure them there, it means real trouble for McCain
