BBB is 1st come, 1st serve....the early birds CAN save seats...but late arrivals will have to wait to get IN the bar, till someone leaves for the night. And Theresa is correct...if you leave to do anything...go eat, gamble, potty...you get a stamp and they will not let someone in your place unless you tell them you are not returning....so it can be a way long wait, at times. Best thing to do is come early and get stamped!!!

I figured get there 7:30'ish and as Theresa pointed out, bring a jacket and save your spot, get your hand stamped and then go spend some bux on food or the casino if you feel the need..My luck is usually good for the new casino downtown STL or The President, I hardly ever get a chance for extra bux at Ameristar, but who knows, could always be a first time!

It would be nice if we would know ahead of time how many folks to expect just in case when we get there, there isn't much available..please either email me or Theresa or post it over here...thanks!

Ummm thanks for the receipe.... but.. you are talking to the woman that can burn water ughhh..there are somethings I can cook but not many :(. Might be something I need to do hmm taking cooking classes.. anyone care to join me hehehe. Oh well! Maybe that is why I am still single heheh I can't cook.

One of the things I have been told I do well though is biscuits and gravy.. yum yum.

Well my bird is on the oven! :O) I just absolutely love, love, love this holiday! I have my gorgeous little grandson asleep in my bed, next to mom...who's plane brought her safely from Oklahoma. My roomie is snoozing away as well! My husky Zoe is kinda half asleep, half awake...listening to me bustling in the kitchen, but too tired to get up and see if any morsels have been dropped! LOL My kids will get here one by one with their significant others...my daughter Ashleigh, earlier than the others because she loves the traditions and enjoys helping me cook. :) I teach her all of the same things my mother taught me...and I can smile at the idea of her teaching her future daughter the same traditions and recipes. *sigh* Every sensory is triggered on this holiday....the house smells great with candles, the roasting bird and other goodies, and even the cool, crisp air from outdoors; the sounds of laughter and coversation; it's all just sooo good! There are no pressures or commercialization for this holiday...it is all just about family, friends, and being thankful for all you DO have in your life, instead of thinking of what might be missing. And to all of my POF family....because yes, so many of you ARE family...I wish you the same wonderful feelings that I get from this day...and I want you all to know that I am thankful for your friendship, your shared laughter, and some very amazing times! God bless, all!

Chrissy....would that story involve leaving the innards of the bird IN, while cooking?? ;O) LOL Oh my! I always say that at least ONE minor disaster has to occur on Thanksgiving to make it...thanksgiving!! LOL One year it was the oven going out in the midst of cooking and having to haul everything to a guests tiny apartment! Another year it was a mixer gone wild in a huge pot of mashes taters!

Ok OK... ACtually my experience with "THE TURKEY" was worst than that Kat..

It was my first Thanksgiving with my ex.. and I decided to invite the WHOLE family. I started early or so I thought. I got the turkey prepared smothered it with butter or I thought that is what I was supposed to do and then placed in in a pan and in the oven.

Several hours later had passed and I went to see if the little red thingy ahh mabopper had popped up and well it hadn't. .. hours later went back and checked it again. Still hadn't popped. Well the family was to arrive in about an hour so, I and pulled the TURKEY out of the oven and it was still ICE cold on the inside of the turkey.

That is when I picked up the phone for some 911 help. I called a friend because I didn't dare call my mom, as to I knew I would never live it down. She asked me if I had let the turkey thaw out. OMGooodness, I never knew you had to do that.. my mom always took it from the ice box and put it in the stove..so I thought. Then she went further and asked me if I had removed the gizzards. Once again confuzzled.. what are those I asked..well she explained what they were and where they were. Eventually I got it done the poor soles that actually ate it :(.

The next year I learned what a turkey bag was ... wooo whoo.. they come in handy for people that aren't to savy in the kitchen.

Well that is my Turkey story... shhhh don't tell anyone heheheheheh!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

P.S. my fried chicked story is one for the records as well hehehe and why they try to keep ME OUT of the kitchen.

Wow....looks like the Pumpkin cheesecake is a hit! :) My daughter and I made 6 of the fukkers on Wed, though a different recipe. (We use reg crust, not graham)

Me...I passed on pie...sent each kidlet home with at least one and still have plenty left. Who wants pie??? LOL

I have a co worker that works part time at a bowling alley in South County on the weekends, I can check with her and see if she has anything available on a Sunday afternoon. But it would probably be after the first of the year before I could do anything, Sundays are usually busy family days for me with Christmas coming up and moving in a few weeks. But let me know if anyone would be interested and I can talk to her to see what kind of a set up she can get for us.

Anyone else as crazy as me who is going out shopping this morning. I have already been to Kohls when they opened at 4am and Wally World and now am thinking about heading down to Mid Rivers Mall.

Nope...not me, Theresa! I am anti- Black Friday....they could give away electronics and it just would not be worth going into that sort of hostile situation, for me! LOL I would probably end up in jail! LOL

Thinking about tonight....was thinking That One Place, maybe...or even the Strat,which I have not been to in a while. Fridays are cheap there!

just woke up a little bit ago, my honey had to go to work at 7a.m...I went back to bed

Called my bank to see what is up with withdrawing funds at their ATMS..they said only a maximum amount out each day, well I didn't even pull that! Was a bit frustrated coming home last night after thinking about all the sales; knowing the real sales are before sunrise, I don't dare get up that early for shopping for anything! But still would be nice to get to my funds just in case I decide to go later this weekend...they transferred my funds and all I have to do is fax back my form to sign Monday morning when I go back to work So now I have $ and I still don't know what to get my kiddos for Christmas..grrrr; have everyone else figured out..good thing I don't have to shop for my whole family anymore, I'd have to take out a loan!!

Tonight~ We are staying in, he says, doesn't wanna go out 2 nites in a row, I say, it's my weekend to party it up and have fun with all involved..I have a dental appt at 8a.m. next Saturday morning so doubt I'll be doing anything that night or staying out real late the night before..yippy...So tomorrow night we will be at BBB; what time is everyone getting there?

LMAO Susie! I think the last time you went to the Strat on a Friday night, was with me!! Halloween night?? Well, I for one, had a spactacular night that evening!

I am leaning towards That One Place. I do not do Helen Fitzgeralds...House of Rock we already did a couple weeks ago...and the Phoenix...well, same as HOR...we just did. LOL But Nita...YOU ROCK for gathering all of that information!! :O)

the band at TOP tonight is a more sit back and relax and enjoy the tunes type band, Chrissy and her sis and I went there a month ago and checked them out, we ended up at the Phoenix listening to Hollywood 5, more the band/dance tunes we like to listen to..so I guess I'll venture you all's way to TOP and maybe the crowd will be enough for me j/k
